The “Zum Kamin” in the Warmbüchenviertel of the state capital is a feel-good place. This is where groups of friends meet, families celebrate and enjoy Skat sessions together. The location is manageable and cozy, the service is always friendly and the food is German-regional with seasonal accents, including the “gastronomic classics”. My group ordered the eternal currywurst 😆, the farmer's omelet, the home-pickled sour meat (nice idea) and the "Strammen Moritz". The prices were moderate and reasonable. The food was very tasty and we were all very satisfied. Brown cabbage variations would also have been possible, as would daily recommendations on the chalkboard. Not bad for a comparatively small restaurant.

Food was ok, but a glass of the cheapest Pinot Noir that didn't taste good at all was €7! No card payment possible

Quaint restaurant with great home cooking. Recently the kale was a hit, yesterday the roast goose was a hit. It couldn't be better. The service is also great. Only perhaps, the Pinot Noir with the goose could be a little higher quality, but all in all it's great. We'd love to come back. Merry Christmas to the entire team.

If you happen to have an appointment in Hamburg at 5 p.m. on the way to Denmark but your colleague decides that 6:30 p.m. in Hanover suits him better, I can highly recommend this restaurant to fill in the lost time. Roast goose 10 out of 10!

The food was very tasty! The price/performance ratio is right! The food is still freshly cooked here. The fried potatoes are highly recommended. The schnitzels are nice and juicy. Very nice staff. Any time again when I'm in Hanover.

We had schnitzel with fresh chanterelles and croquettes or fried potatoes, as well as fresh Herri from the tap and a pear as a schnapps. The food was very, very tasty! I value good fried potatoes and I can recommend these without any hesitation. 👏🏼 The service was extremely attentive, the ambience is a bit old, but in the overall context of the schnitzel and fried potatoes, it took me on an unintentionally fascinating journey back in time to the 80s, in which exactly this type of food, this type of not so over-the-top and but the active waitresses were, in retrospect, far too little appreciated standard. Recommendation for everyone who doesn't value chichi but still wants to eat tasty and rich food.

Andre and that Bares for Rares Horst at the bar are absolute VH's. I've never had Baba Cordon Bleu arrested like this and delicious ice-cold beer with it. Absolute recommendation!

Were here again for a long time (unfortunately). Here you can still find an atmosphere that is familiar and familiar to people my age. Likewise the kitchen. Good middle class. Big portion. It's a shame that restaurants like this are dying out in big cities. We'll definitely be back.

We were here “spontaneously” on a Monday. I'm very glad I reserved a table because shortly after we arrived, all the tables were full. The decor of the restaurant is probably from the 60s and takes you back to that time. I think it's absolutely iconic. Contrary to some pictures in other reviews, there is (fortunately) no DAB on tap here but Herri and Krombacher. After studying the menu, the waiter told me that there was fresh roast beef (cold) with fried potatoes and remulade. I grabbed it straight away because I haven't eaten that in at least 20 years. I wasn't disappointed. The roast beef was evenly textbook pink. The fried potatoes (served in a wooden bowl) were unsurpassedly good! There was also a side salad with homemade dressing. The tartar sauce also seemed homemade to me. My counterpart had the sour meat with the same side dishes. That was also super delicious! After the meal we had ice-cold Linie Aquavit in the original glass. I can recommend the “Kamin” to anyone who likes to eat home-style food. The drinks came quickly, the waiter was very friendly and competent. I recommend making reservations and, above all, bringing cash. Card payment is not possible here.

Good for cozy hours with friends

Went there for the first time yesterday. The food was a dream and the beer also tasted great. All in all, a real recommendation to pay a visit to the fireplace. The naturally cloudy plum schnapps is highly recommended.

Ist auf jeden Fall ein Besuch wert. Der André kann schon sehr leckeres Essen zaubern. Voll lecker und reichlich.

Sehr gemütlich und unglaublich leckeres Essen!

Sehr leckeres Essen und eine gute Atmosphäre, kann ich nur raten. Gestern besuchte ich mit meiner Familie Zu Kamin, wie immer wunderbar und lecker gekocht, hinterließ zufrieden einen guten Eindruck. Leider gibt es nur wenige solcher Restaurants mit deutscher Traditionsküche.

Zunächst das positive: Alle Speisen sind lecker und hausgemacht. Man schmeckt, dass der Chef mit ganzem Herzen Koch ist. Gute deutsche Küche. Auch habe ich das Personal als stets freundlich empfunden. Wir sind als Gruppe gerne hingegangen, aber inzwischen nicht mehr. Der Hauptgrund ist der, dass die Preise angestiegen sind, teilweise sehr extrem - und das noch vor dem Krieg in der Ukraine. Das ist kein Gourmetrestaurant in bester Innenstadtlage, das wird wohl vergessen. Die Einrichtung ist in die Jahre gekommen und der Name ist nicht Programm - es gibt keinen Kamin.

Nach drei Abenden endlich dieses getarnte Juwel gefunden. Super leckeres Rindslebergericht gegessen.

Sehr urige Gastwirtschaft, das ist Essen mega, alles frisch und immer lecker. Wirtin, Koch und Service sehr lieb und freundlich, toll!

Für eine Eckkneipe ist die Auswahl an Speisen sehr gross und qualitativ gut. Aber im Internet müsste die Speisekarte dringend überarbeitet werden. Bei den darin angegebenen Preisen scheint diese schon lange nicht mehr überarbeitet worden zu sein. Denn da sind die Preise um ein deutliches niedriger als auf der ausliegenden Speisekarte.

Ausgezeichnetes, altdeutsches Lokal. Nette Bedienung. Reichhaltiges Essen von guter Qualität. Chefin kommt auch mal zum netten Gespräch zum Tisch. Gerne wieder und Gruß an die Küche!! :-)

Sehr gute bürgerliche Küche, wie man sie fast nicht mehr findet. Alle Speisen frisch zubereitet und unsagbar schmackhaft. Ein Erlebnis. Sehr freundliche und aufmerksame Bedienung. Kann ich nur empfehlen, auch für kleine und größere Gesellschaften.

Wir sind auf Empfehlung in dieses Lokal gekommen und bekamen eine wunderbare Roulade mit selbstgemachten Klößen und Apfelrotkraut. Wohltemperierte Weine gab es dazu. Von der Chefin gab es noch einen Birnengeist aufs Haus. Hygienemanagement wurde beachtet und freundlich nach den Pässen gefragt. Wir fühlten uns sehr wohl und empfehlen Ihr Lokal gerne wieder.

Das Essen ( Grünkohl) total lecker, gut abgeschmeckt nur für mich zu viele Zwiebeln. Service...ist noch Luft nach oben...

Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis geht gar nicht. Da kann man regelrecht von Abzocke sprechen. Und die Gast-"Freundschaft" habe ich als Gast-"Feindschaft" empfunden. Auf die Getränke mussten wir eine halbe Stunde warten, aufs Essen nochmal rund eineinhalb Stunden. Das Personal trug keine Maske! Ich kann von diesem Lokal nur abraten.
