We have been regulars at this restaurant for years. The sophisticated dishes that the extremely motivated chef conjures up give us a culinary delight every time. The ingredients are sourced as locally as possible and the suppliers are featured on the menu. The waitresses are very friendly and attentive. If time permits, the chef will personally check whether everything is right. Last Saturday I celebrated my birthday there - it was an unforgettable evening and all my guests were amazed by the cooking skills and the delicious aperitifs! Keep it up, you are an asset to Eichstätt and in my opinion the best restaurant here! 😘

The atmosphere is easeful and relaxed. One is surrounded by cozy wood and a refreshing modern take on Bavarian “Gemütlichkeit”. Höllbräukeller’s service staff is attentive. The cook is a friendly, down-to-earth man, who visits every table to greet the guests and shows a lot of love for his craft. This translates into his food: it is flat out stunning. I have roamed the world, eaten diverse exquisite cuisine and indulged in a fair amount of Michelin star food. This kitchen however in the unlikely spot of a small town in the midst of Bavaria blew my mind. Its spirited cook might not have a star but most certainly deserves one in my humble opinion. My spouse ate Käsespätzle, which were top notch. The cheese used was the right balance between piquant and creamy, the spätzle were clearly house-made (geschabt). They beat the ones I had in an organic food based Hüttn on a hike up the Ochsenkopf mountain – which is said something bc those people know(!) how to make a good “Kasspatzn”. The salad on the side was made with love and a refreshing addition to this heavier main course. I had chicken with a godly pumpkin and potato mash – very recommendable and a delicious sour cream. For desert we had the best Kaiserschnarrn I have ever tasted. The cook was attentive enough to ask beforehand for any allergies and made sure to not add walnuts as I am a nut allergic. The Kaiserscharrn was crispy, full-bodied – not too airy and had the right amount of sweetness. One could taste that all the condiments were self made. They consisted of Vanilla ice cream with Tonka bean, finely seasoned apple and quince puree. I will stop off at “Höllbräukeller” merely for this amazing Kaiserschmarrn. Be sure to check out the other main courses as well. I recommend the house-made mint lemonade.

Zum Höllbräukeller is a recommended gourmet address in Eichstätt. The menu was “small but nice” and the host couple were very warm and attentive. The dishes were of very good quality and the portions were also very generous. You could watch the creative team practicing their cooking skills. It was a culinary stay and we would be happy to come back. ;)

Very nice and stylishly furnished restaurant, extremely friendly service staff. Here the boss cooks himself. Apart from the drinks, everything is produced here himself, which is unfortunately very rare these days. Very short waiting time after ordering. On the recommendation of a friend, we (3 people) wanted the Höllbräu burger with beef steak (was not on the menu). After asking the kitchen we were told that this wasn't a problem, even though the restaurant was full. This is how I imagine customer service. We were all thrilled with the burger, even the burger bun is made in-house. Hats off to this chef. Thank you very much for this taste experience Mr. Jobst, we would love to come back.

So I'm really surprised at the negative reviews of the restaurant. My sister-in-law and I were in Eichstätt last weekend for the church fair and had our “farewell dinner” by chance in the Hölbräukeller. What can I say, the food was soooo delicious, regional, seasonal, fresh as it should be and all at a reasonable price. Aperitif, soft drink, two main courses, digestif! You can also read on the menu which suppliers the meat comes from. Even though we hadn't made a reservation, we were assigned a nice place and were looked after in an extremely friendly and empathetic manner. For us it was a completely successful visit to the restaurant and we would like to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU and keep it up!

Great atmosphere, very nice and fast service. The place is atmospheric, noisy and very pleasant. The food is good... but it's German cuisine, known for being probably the worst cuisine in the world. If you like it, you will be delighted, if not, drink a beer and go for a kebab next door.

Randomly chosen on Sunday evening: got a table even without a reservation, ate extremely well and chatted with the chef as if we had known each other for years. At the end we tried two of our own liqueurs and took a bottle of each with us. Absolute recommendation!

We became aware of the "Zum Höllbräukeller" thanks to the very good reviews after a concert. What and how it was served far exceeded anything. We ordered and received an excellent sesame-crusted brook trout fillet. The warm lobster sauce was a real highlight. The vegetables and pasta were on point and tasted excellent with lots of spices, such as fresh rosemary. This means that every vegetarian, for example, will experience a truly special taste experience here. The restaurant room was cozy, warm, bright and lovingly decorated. The visit to the restaurant was worth every cent! We rave and can recommend it to absolutely everyone. Thanks to the chef for this tasteful sophistication in preparing food!

We were really only there by chance because all the restaurants were closed and what can I say... How lucky for us, otherwise we would never have been able to try this delicious food. We had a schnitzel and a large salad with chicken pieces. Every bite was a pleasure and the service was super nice. This restaurant will definitely be saved as a favorite restaurant.

Very nice atmosphere, the service was excellent, very friendly and fast, the spaetzle for my little friend was perfect with cream sauce, Wienerschnitzel with salad and fries. They also tasted very good and the burger with pork slices was just really good. The homemade bun was soft and fluffy. Very good to eat, tastes excellent. and doesn't lie too heavily on the meat. Salad and vegetables very delicately seasoned, a very well-rounded affair. The tiramisu for dessert just had to be there. Absolutely top value for money.

Small and hidden in Eichstätt...not far from the old town...is the Höllbräukeller....which creates an ambience that makes you feel good...and the cuisine is second to none!!! Mr. Jobst & his team bring every dish to their plates fresh and of high quality at the star level.....A restaurant that still has a lot of energy to get a Michelin star.....Good luck in the future

So delicious, in the truest sense. Organic pork schnitzel and you can taste it too. Super prepared and beautifully garnished. The starter salad in a glass can only be recommended, here too the taste is “bomb”. So if you're looking for a good restaurant, you definitely won't be disappointed here. Would love to come back.

We rarely go out to eat because ingredients are often completely messed up in the kitchen and we don't have enough money for that. Things are different here, which is why there is a very first review of a restaurant. In a beautiful ambience (vaulted cellar) you have a clear view of the kitchen. Only a few kitchens have this much (justifiable) self-confidence. The map is pleasantly short and speaks for itself. The standard menu is accompanied by a “seasonal menu”. There you will find solid dishes, often with a modern interpretation in every detail. This was our second time here and after six different dishes we can say with a clear conscience that we will be back. It is rare to find such perfectly prepared and lovingly prepared dishes at a very good price/performance ratio. The food is only surpassed by the people, who are very attentive, never intrusive and always friendly despite the "hut" being full. Without exception. The highlight on our first visit was getting to know the chef, who came to our table and got feedback straight away, in a very personable way. That doesn't always work, but you'll be out of the kitchen weeks later (when the room is completely full). greeted warmly as a "repeat offender" and once again pampered by the emperor. Stay like this and we'll see each other again often. Thank you!!!

Das Restaurant ist in einem historischen, rustikalen Gewölbekeller untergebracht - außerdem gibt es einen schönen Biergarten. Es werden lokale Gerichte mit Zutaten aus der Umgebung serviert, die jedoch immer etwas Besonderes im positiven Sinne sind. Das Essen schmeckte bei allen meinen Besuchen ausgezeichnet. Der Service ist sehr freundlich und die Preise sind in Ordnung. Rundum zu empfehlen!

My husband and I visited this restaurant shortly after our wedding. The reviews were soooo good, we just had to stop by. We did not regret it! the service was so incredibly good. The chef personally came out of the kitchen and asked the guests present whether they liked the food. All I can say is: it was tasty! For the money you really get your money's worth!!!

Great food, great service, definitely go! Following the good reviews, we visited this rather inconspicuous restaurant from the outside. A colorful, somehow misplaced chain of lights at the entrance to the basement restaurant initially made us very skeptical. Inside, however, the skepticism quickly subsided. Modern and cozy, high-quality furnishings. The waiter's welcome was professional and friendly and we were immediately shown to our table. It was pleasantly bright in the cellar vault and not so loud thanks to cleverly installed sound absorbers on the ceilings. The Höllbräukeller is a rather small restaurant with around 12 tables. We received our drinks and the menu very quickly. The dishes on the menu are all regional and seasonal and are not classic brewery dishes. They are well described in the frequently changing menu and put together very creatively. The best thing about them is that they are freshly made with local ingredients and taste great. The side salads were a real hit. Served in a slightly taller glass with home-pickled vegetables and fresh leaf salad as well as a great dressing. A rather larger portion of salad. For the main course we had schnitzel with a special breading made from root vegetables, horseradish and various spices. I have never experienced such a flavor explosion with schnitzel before. There were also herb potatoes. The portion with 2 schnitzels and potatoes was for those who were hungry. The next evening we went out to eat there again and were immediately recognized. I really wanted to try the venison sausages with Bavarian cream cabbage, which I had already seen on the menu the day before. But it was Easter Sunday and that evening there was an Easter menu with many delicious dishes but not the venison sausages. The super friendly Italian waiter asked for me in the kitchen and lo and behold, the “extra sausages” were freshly prepared for me. And that was a perfect meal again. The very tasty sausages and the homemade cabbage were phenomenal. The chef was at the table later and told us something about his cuisine. Everything is prepared fresh, no finished ingredients are used and it is also fermented in-house. I could now describe my wife's delicate lamb dish and the delicious desserts in more detail. But that would be too long. Conclusion: if you are ever in Eichstätt, then definitely go to the Höllbräukeller. Great food at fair prices and you'll feel really full. There are things to eat here that you haven't tasted before.

There were 6 people for dinner, with a reservation and all the dishes at the table were very tasty. All suppliers are listed in the menu, which we thought was really great. No matter what type of meat, drinks, vegetables... Everything from the region👍 had a beef tile steak with potatoes and very fine, cooked vegetables and a mixed salad beforehand. Everything was beautifully presented and the starter salad was simply different. It came in a jar with bulgur, green and other seasonal vegetables, very tasty! For dessert we had the tonka bean parfait and the Hölbräuspritz, which I can only recommend. The service was friendly and accommodating! The restaurant is somewhat hidden on Westenstraße below the St.Walburg monastery. Anyone who has found the entrance to the Höllbräukeller will be rewarded with excellent dishes made from regional and very high quality products. The menu offers creative but not unusual cuisine for special tastes. The prices are on a higher level, but you don't get standard dishes, but rather culinary ideas that you should get involved with. Our group was completely satisfied.

Loveless food. Pork steak carriage: black burnt cheese on top, completely dried out pieces of pork schnitzel underneath, downright tough. House fries are somehow a kind of fried croquettes or something in the form of very thick fries. . Wasn't really recognizable. Unfortunately, this innkeeper won't see us again. The cellar itself is a beauty.

We went to Höllbräukeller for the first time today and our expectations were exceeded. The concept is particularly convincing. We particularly liked the regionality and fresh preparation of the dishes. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was cozy and the service was courteous and attentive. Michael was very attentive to us and we had a nice conversation after dinner. We will definitely be back - highly recommended!

Ein super Restaurant mit sehr leckeren Essen mitten in Eichstätt! Wir haben kurzfristig noch einen Tisch zum Mittagessen bekommen. Super lecker und hochwertig gekocht, mit Zutaten aus der Region. Die Zulieferer werden schon auf der Speisekarte mit vermerkt, damit man weiß, woher das Essen kommt. Die Bedienung ist unglaublich aufmerksam und freundlich. Selbst der Küchenchef kommt vor und erkundigt sich, ob alles gut ist, wenn es die Zeit zulässt. Man fühlt sich direkt wohl. Das Personal ist sehr nett, freundlich gund zuvorkommend und auch der Chef erkundigt sich, ob alles passt. Wir haben gestern aufgrund der vielen guten Bewertungen spontan einen Tisch reserviert und können das Restaurant wärmstens weiterempfehlen! Der Service war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Unser Essen wurde ohne langes Warten serviert und war superlecker! Das Schnitzel mit raffinierter krosser Brotpanade, der Saibling mit perfekter Kruste, die hausgemachten Nudeln und der Kürbis-Kartoffelstampf als Beilagen einfach sensationell. Alles wurde frisch und ohne Fertigprodukte vom sympathischen jungen Wirt zubereitet, der sein Handwerk bestens beherrscht. Nach getaner Arbeit ging er von Tisch zu Tisch um zu fragen, ob alles gepasst hat und nahm sich sogar Zeit für einen Plausch mit den Gästen bei dem man die Begeisterung zum Kochen richtig merkte. Essen sehr lecker. Nicht zuviele Gerichte auf der Karte. Große Portionen. Dadurch sind auch die Preise gerechtfertigt. Personal sehr freundlich. Restaurant ist auch nicht sehr groß. Deshalb unbedingt vorher reservieren. Der Chef Mike ist auch der Koch. Er kam zu den Gästen und fragte, ob alles ok war. Hatte ich so auch noch nie. Am Ende waren wir seine letzten beiden Gäste und er hat mit uns noch 1,5 Stunden gequatscht.

Leider kann ich den sehr guten Bewertungen nicht zustimmen bzw. kann diese nicht nachvollziehen. Zwar hatte ich mich „nur“ für die Käsespätzle entschieden, diese waren jedoch geschmacksneutral. Von Käse war relativ wenig vorhanden, so das dieses Gericht nicht nur vegetarisch war, sondern schon extrem Vegan. Der gesamte Gastraum war relativ leer, wir (2 Personen) mussten jedoch im Eingangsbereich sitzen da alles reserviert war. Eigenartig das nachfolgende Paare ohne Reservierung doch noch im Gastraum einen Platz bekommen haben. Der Service (vor allem der Kellner) überheblich und arrogant. Es wurde beim abräumen nicht einmal gefragt, ob es geschmeckt hat bzw. alles gut war. Ansonsten hätte ich mich da schon so geäußert.Da ich sehr großen Hunger hatte habe ich alles aufgegessen, war auch egal geschmeckt hat es je nach nichts.

Eins der besten Restaurants! Wir waren sehr spät eingetroffen, die Küche war bereits am Aufräumen. Wir haben dennoch was bekommen und es war sehr lecker. Die Lammhaxe ist einfach spitze, das Schnitzel auch sehr lecker. Und die Location an sich ist schon was besonderes und schön eingerichtet.

Wir waren gestern durch Zufall im Hofbräukeller. Das Essen war perfekt. Das "boarische Sushi " und der Lammbraten waren vorzüglich. Das selbstgemachte Karamelleis schmeckte nach mehr. Eines der besten Restaurants in dem ich je war, von der Vorspeise bis zur Nachspeise jedes Gericht macht den Eindruck das der Chef etwas ganz besonderes gezaubert hat. Hier hat man keine Angst neue Dinge auszuprobieren und daher trifft man auf Geschmäcker die man zuvor noch nie geschmeckt hat. Das Fleisch ist so zart das es auf ser Zunge zergeht, die Beilagen so gut gewürzt das man endlos davon essen könnte. War immer gerne hier oder habe hier essen geholt auch Extrawünsche waren nie ein Problem! Empfehle auf jedenfall hier einmal herzukommen wenn man in der Nähe ist.

Food 5-star, but the service was not at all good. Long waiting times, empty drinks at the table, no mayonnaise and a take-away packaging that doesn't even begin to fit the burger, plus a waiter who doesn't want to do his job. Wonderful.
