Very good, freshly prepared food. A nice selection on the menu, from home-style to contemporary. The service team is excellent. They're cheerful, very courteous, and professional. 5 stars extra 🌟 The dining room is a bit dull and could use some sprucing up. But the outdoor area with a view of the Main River is fantastic. We'll definitely be back in the summer.

I went to Hirsch for dinner yesterday, and it was a wonderful evening all around! The food was absolutely fresh, delicious, and prepared with lots of love. The service was also super friendly and attentive; I immediately felt at home. The entire atmosphere was cozy and inviting. I would definitely come back🤍 Highly recommended.

Our children celebrated their wedding here on September 6th. The venue was beautifully decorated and stylishly furnished for the occasion. The service was very, very attentive and friendly from start to finish... The food was fresh, plentiful, and very appetizing. All in all, we felt extremely comfortable. According to my wife, the tarte flambée with salmon was good. The chef should definitely re-weigh the onion schnitzel (large), "supposedly" 200g, but I didn't have 140g on the plate yet, and you could also search for the sauce (that was nothing). I know what I'm talking about; I've even cooked in a restaurant kitchen. The salad should also have more options at that price, including dressing. Please improve that as well. We might try it again, but we can't promise it. Unfortunately, the price didn't match the portion.

The staff is very friendly and attentive. We opted for schnitzel with chanterelle mushrooms. Unfortunately, it was disappointing, as it was completely unseasoned—even the spaetzle seemed to have no salt. The salad could have used a bit more acidity—just a suggestion. The homemade elderflower lemonade was delicious for the first five minutes. But then the ice melted in the glass, and all you could taste were the ice cubes. A shame for €5.20. Perhaps fewer ice cubes would have kept the experience alive. All in all, we were a bit disappointed, as the reviews promised a different quality! Perhaps we'll try it again sometime—as I said: perhaps.

I discovered this wonderful restaurant through an Instagram ad. From the welcome, the service, the fantastic food, to the farewell, everything was simply fantastic. The staff are so friendly, a real feel-good factor. The location on the Main River completes the whole experience (despite the construction work right outside 😁). We discovered the restaurant through the Schlemmerblock (a German restaurant). The service was super friendly and entertaining. The food was really very good. I had the Tafelspitz (boiled beef), and it was excellent. We also had schnitzel with chanterelle mushrooms, homemade spaetzle, and the nacho schnitzel. All the dishes were very good. We'll definitely be back. A little tip: with a few plants and some dim lighting, you can add a cozy touch. We found the decor very cold and uncomfortable, but that's just our opinion and definitely doesn't warrant any points deduction.

A friendly welcome. We had a nice table. The service was very attentive. The portions of our food were very generous, but the quality was also very good. The menu not only promises, but the kitchen also doesn't skimp on the promised ingredients. All of this is served at a very fair price. The trip to the Hirsch is definitely worth it. The construction site is no longer a problem. We will definitely be back with friends and family.

It was the first time we were completely disappointed with the lunch menu. It was also embarrassing for our guests from the USA. There was a fish dish. The starter soup was excellent. The side dishes were appropriate for the lunch menu. The fish wasn't fish, but a small fish corner. That was unbelievable. We're usually very satisfied and enjoy going there. But this really was impossible.

Nach langer Zeit mal wieder dort gewesen. Früher regelmäßig, doch seit die Baustelle vor der Tür ist, nicht mehr. Wir dachten sie sei weg, aber Pustekuchen. Die Baustelle ist immer noch da. Wir essen immer das Jägerschnitzel und leider ist es immer noch so, dass es jedes Mal anders zubereitet wird. Einmal schmeckt es fantastisch, das nächste Mal ist es ungenießbar. So sollte das nicht sein. Die Soße war dieses Mal mit einem Gewürz abgeschmeckt, das nicht nach unserem Geschmack war. Was das war, keine Ahnung 🤷🏼‍♀️ Das Schnitzel war leider fertig panierte TK Ware. Schade. Wir gehen jetzt wieder zum Schwesterunternehmen Wilder Esel. Da schmeckt es immer gleich.

My husband and I eat at various restaurants very often, but we've never received such excellent service as here. The waitress was extremely friendly, courteous, and customer-oriented. It was our first time at this restaurant and we were served so warmly and professionally, as if we were long-standing and valued regulars. The steak was good, the desserts were excellent, but we'll be back because of the excellent service. She played a significant role in ensuring we had a wonderful evening and did everything she could to win us over as regulars. The service desert of Germany could learn a thing or two from this!!! We hope her boss knows what an excellent employee he has in her! Huge praise! Thank you so much for everything!!

Very tasty, portions a bit “manageable”

Zu unserem Hochzeitstag sind wir im Hirschen eingekehrt. Es war ein sehr schöner Mittag und alles hat perfekt gepasst. Der Empfang war herzlich und der Kellner sehr freundlich und humorvoll. Auf unsere Fragen erhielten wir kompetente Antworten und auf unsere Wünsche wurde eingegangen. Das Essen kam zeitnah und war sehr lecker. Das Fleich butterzart, die Pommes auf den Punkt gegart und alles war schön angerichtet. Wir hatten Schweinelendchen und das Nacho-Schnitzel. Letzteres hatte, durch die Jalapeños schön "Pfiff", war aber nicht zu scharf. Genau richtig. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt. Aus unserer Sicht, eine klare Empfehlung.

We celebrated the birthday party in the large hall with a fantastic terrace view of the Main and what can I say? It was just a complete success! The service was attentive, warm and professional, and the atmosphere was stylish and cozy at the same time. But the highlight was definitely the buffet: varied, lovingly prepared and simply delicious! From starters to dessert everything was fresh, high quality and incredibly tasty. Our guests were thrilled, and so were we! A big thank you to the entire team, the Restaurant Hirsch is definitely worth recommending. We'll be back!

The visit to the restaurant was largely unspectacular but good. The food was good, the staff was friendly, the atmosphere was ok, the prices were a little above average. When the weather is nice, various seating options are available outside. The view of the Main completed the good impression.

Along the Rhine, an incredibly neat place. Terrace dining, house steak, with side dishes really good. I recommend The weather was favorable, I was able to enjoy +25 temperature, cloudless sky.

Quite quaintly furnished, but it lacks a bit of cosiness. Besides, it was quite cool in the main room. The food was absolutely ok, even if the mini side salad seemed a bit expensive at 4.80 euros. Nevertheless, the dressing was very good. The asparagus was also delicious and the little dollop of raspberry sauce was a nice surprise to the palate. What was a bit of a shame: there was neither a biscuit nor an Amerettini with the coffee. For me, that's somehow part of hospitality. However, the service was very attentive and very friendly. Since we were there with the Schlemmerblock, we found the bill amount OK. We probably wouldn't go again - without Schlemmerblock. We were missing that little “extra”. Therefore only 4 out of 5 stars.

Food was good but pasta. with asparagus and salmon, too expensive for €22.00, although there were at most 2 sticks of asparagus cut very small and around 80 grams of salmon. So no one was fed up.

We were here again for lunch for the 6th time on March 29th, 2025. We ordered roullade with red cabbage and dumplings for 3 people. Real home cooking, tasted excellent as always and was beautifully served with rosemary. When we come to visit, we like to stop here and would happily recommend it to others.

The food was mediocre or at least improved. The approach is ok, but there is a lot of room for improvement. If you do it right in this beautiful ambience, right next to the main, you get a real gem. The schnitzels and sauces are ok. The tarte flambée with spinach and salmon was a disaster. You can't bake the spinach people... I only had dry straw and that's how it tasted, there was hardly any sour cream on it... The service is friendly and uniformly dressed. Just one thing... please clear them when you see that the plates are empty and ask often if you can have something else.

Addendum: Disappointing experience after previous praise We were in this restaurant last summer for a big birthday and had a very good experience. That's why we chose this restaurant again - but unfortunately we have to revise our previous rating. If I could decide again today, I would only give the restaurant 2 to a maximum of 3 stars. The food was bland, nothing special or exceptional. But it wasn't just the kitchen that was disappointing, but above all the service: when we arrived, we were completely ignored for 10 minutes. No greeting, no inquiry – nothing. Only after this waiting period did we receive the menus, but without a word of friendliness. Another 15 minutes passed before we could finally order. And after a total of 30 minutes we only had our drinks - while two tables that came after us had already received food and drinks. The only positive thing was a lady from the service, maybe even the owner. She listened to our criticism, listened patiently, and apologized honestly and understandingly. As a small gesture of compensation, we got a coffee on the house, which at least alleviated our anger a little. Nevertheless, the bitter aftertaste of a disappointing experience remains. We won't give the restaurant another chance for now.

We were there for the first time on Sunday late at noon. The food came after 45 minutes, first two dishes, 5 minutes later the rest. Red cabbage and dumplings cold, roast venison dry. The newly brought cabbage was at least lukewarm. In short, the kitchen has messed up pretty bad, that can happen. The atmosphere is rather uncomfortable, which is also due to the constant cold draft as soon as someone comes in.

Very friendly and welcoming, the tables are generously spaced so you don't feel cramped. The food was delicious. We felt very comfortable and will definitely come back!

Tisch für 1-2 Personen verfügbar am Fenster. Gasthaus war zur Mittagszeit ausgebucht. Preis / Leistung passt.

The service was very difficult at the beginning. We had already sat there for 35 minutes and asked three times for a drink order. We were constantly put off. Until my husband started to get angry and we got a new waitress. The food was very good, although in 1 of 8 main courses the meat was a bit dry. I found the price/performance ratio to be great. We didn't pay €350 for 8 x three courses and drinks. This is really great!

Einmal und NIE wieder !!! Preis -Leistung sind unter aller Kanone . Geschmacklich und frische der Produkte lassen sehr zu Wünschen übrig , Teller waren noch dreckig, Gläser auch . Personalmangel und man hat das Gefühl als Gast eine Belastung zu sein, es geht nur um das schnelle Geld für den Restauranteigentümer.

I was there last year to celebrate my birthday. I liked everything.

Wir waren am 22.09.2024 zu dritt mittags auf der Terrasse. Terrasse und Lokal waren etwas über die Hälfte besetzt, also kein Gedränge. Trotzdem mussten wir fast 20 Minuten warten, bis die Getränke aufgenommen wurden. Diese wurden nach akzeptabler Zeit serviert. Auf das Essen durften wir allerdings etwas länger warten. Für frisch zubereitete Mahlzeiten wäre das auch in Ordnung. Allerdings war das Schnitzel eindeutig Convenience-Ware. Die Salate waren ok, aber nichts außergewöhnliches. Unter der Panade des Schnitzels, nicht sichtbar, befand sich offenbar eine Fettblase. Als mein Mann das Schnitzel anschnitt, spritzte eine Fettfontäne auf sein T-Shirt. Er hat dieses der Servicekraft gezeigt. Sie ging keineswegs auf die Frage, wie der Schaden vom Restaurant gehandhabt wird ein. Im Gegenteil, sie erwiderte, er solle sich im Internet erkundigen, wie die Flecken entfernt werden können. Die Flecken ließen sich mit Tipps und Tricks nicht entfernen. Auf die Beantwortung unserer Mail warten wir noch heute. Auch die Bestellung eines 2. Getränks war sehr langwierig. Erst nach 3-maligem Erinnern wurde dann nach über einer halben Stunde das Getränk gebracht. Wir hatten ja reichlich Zeit, die Vorgänge auf der Terrasse zu beobachten. So irrte eine Servicekraft mehrmals umher, weil er das Essen keinem Gast zuordnen konnte. Oder eine Person am Tisch bekam das Essen serviert, die 2. Person wurde vergessen. Von einem Besuch des Lokals raten wir ab, Service und Küchenleistung sind es nicht wert.

We were there yesterday. It took 20 minutes for us to receive the card so that we could even order. After that we were ignored by 3 waiters for another 25 minutes. We've been eating here for years, usually with several people. The service is nice, courteous and with the guest. 👍🏻 Unfortunately, the food keeps getting worse and worse. When we were here in December 23 and April 24, we noticed that something had changed in the kitchen. There wasn't as much going on as before. We were here again last week and unfortunately it was probably our last visit. The side salad and soup tasted good, but unfortunately the main courses were just mediocre. The schnitzels lacked flavor and only tasted like fat. The sauces we had were also very bland and reminded us of ready-made sauce. Even they bring out even more flavor. You could count the fries on both hands. That's pretty cheeky. A good ladle more would have been good for the plate, pleased the guest and doesn't cost much more. The spaetzle was also quite manageable, and also had no significant taste of its own and only produced an oily feeling in the mouth. But they were nice to look at. All in all, it's a shame because you could eat really well there.

So we are here as a family on a short vacation and went to the restaurant for the second time today because the kitchen simply creates very good food. Children's meals are great and are served earlier so that the little ones don't have to wait so long. The staff is very attentive. Everything very hospitable. Traditional German cuisine. We had a really excellent dinner. The staff was just very personable and hospitable. The atmosphere is very cozy and we sat outside, which was very pleasant. The food was simply great and definitely worth the money. Quality has its price and the ratio is right. Small menu but fine and homemade. We will eat there again. We can recommend it with a clear conscience and have experienced gastronomy the way you would like.

The service is nice and courteous. In my soup I forgot to remove the thyme sprig before pureeing it. Not a nice insert. This could have been solved more elegantly, e.g. with a spice bag which you fish out at the end. Chanterelle cream schnitzel was delicious, spaetzle unfortunately greasy. I think they were fried. Molten lava cake but there was nothing to complain about. Still, it's a bit of a shame since the mistakes could have been so easily avoided.

Unfortunately, there is currently a huge construction site in front of the door and if you have walking difficulties the route is very difficult. The staff was very attentive and friendly. The food was very tasty 😋 and the view of the Main is very nice, when the construction site is gone it must be wonderful here. Thank you for everything.

Visited this place spontaneously and we had a great spot outside in the shade. The service was very friendly and fast, the Radlers were refreshing and the food was really good. Prices were reasonable. Can really recommend this place and will definitely come back!

(Posted 20 June 2024) The street & parking lot along the River Main in front of Zum Hirsch are being reconstructed until April 2025, but the restaurant is still open, so please do visit it. We were there for lunch on their terrace, which was pleasant even with the construction (they have wonderful shade trees). The food was delicious as always (day's menu of schnitzel & fried potatoes in brown sauce with chocolate mousse in raspberry sauce for dessert).

Always good lunch and food. Nice terrace (unfortunately construction work until Sept '24, but it's nice to sit inside too). Recommend the homemade iced tea - it comes in different flavors. Delicious side salad and Alsatian tarte flambée. There are also vegetarian options such as cheese spaetzle and napkin dumplings with mushroom cream. Both very good.
