The food and service are awesome. Not only recommended, but a MUST! Since my time as a student and the intensive study trip through Greece, my preference for Greek cuisine has developed. Since then, one or two Greek restaurants have been visited and so there is enough experience. We were in this restaurant for the first time and were extremely impressed. It started with the selection of dishes. We talked as a family about the size of the portions and whether the kids should choose a small portion of gyros or a regular portion. For the sake of completeness, it must be mentioned that there is also a baby portion, which is the smallest. When the owner noticed this, he spoke out in favor of a small gyro and assured us that as an adult he wouldn't be able to manage the small gyro from the crowd and that it was completely sufficient for children. We found that surprising, because in other restaurants they wouldn't have said anything to increase sales and would have sold the larger menus. According to the owner, the food weighs almost 1kg for the adult portion. The kids weren't served that. The leftovers were packed up American doggy bag style and taken away. The service staff is super friendly and attentive. The food is extremely delicious. The price-performance ratio is great. It was our first time at ZUM GRIECHEN, but it certainly wasn't the last time. Conclusion: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

We had dinner there with our family. After the renovation, the restaurant looks incredibly stylish. As always, the portions per dish are extremely huge, so you always have to take something with you. As a Greek foodie, this Greek has become our absolute favorite. This Greek is highly recommended!

I only come at lunchtime and eat almost always the same thing, because it's perfect quality with the best taste!

We just ordered and picked it up... and I'll say it's fortunate that I listened to my colleagues and "only" took the gyros pita... mega, big enough portion and really tasty.. obviously the fries weren't that great with my colleagues but that's for picking up and old school Styrofoam packaging (probably still stocks from the 90s 🤣)

However, there is a lot of it, and some local people leave it behind and take it home with them. I want you to think about the amount a little more.

We've been going to Greek restaurants here for years. The price-performance ratio is right, the conditions and the owner are very nice. The food is always very good. We drive across the city for this. It's also very nice that there is a portion for every hunger, regardless of age, normal, children's plate, baby portion. Keep it up.

Busy at lunchtime, super nice innkeeper, both the spiros platter, gyros with metaxa sauce and the pork fillets were world class in terms of taste and quantity! Finally, a freshly made Greek mocha. Nothing more is possible!

Good solid Greek. Price performance is great. If you're very hungry, you're in good hands here. The gyro portion is huge. Almost all of us ordered a small gyro and were well fed. The atmosphere is a mixture of restaurant and snack bar. Service friendly and quick. There were nine of us here and we all got our food at the same time and quite quickly. Super. We'll be back.

Meine Frau und ich waren seid etlichen Jahren Stammgäste und immer sehr zufrieden ! Aber seid heute hat dieses Lokal 2 Stammgäste verloren ! Die Qualität es Essens hat stark nach gelassen, Essensreste,die wor mitnehmen wollten, wurden anstatt in de Küche am Tisch verpackt,und die WC *s glichen einer Rutschbahn !

Today I ate a fish platter on site. Unfortunately the trout, redfish and calamari only tasted like fat. The batter had no flavor at all and the two shrimps on the plate were the highlight. It wasn't my first time in the restaurant, but I usually enjoyed eating gyros. The gyro is great. I later described the situation to the service and got the answer: “Yes, if you fry everything in batter, everything tastes the same. Then next time you should use it without batter.” There was not a single word on the menu saying that everything was fried in batter.

Very nice restaurant with typical Greek dishes - with enormously large portions. My “Gyros gratinated” would have easily been enough for 2 people - you can also order small portions (but we only found out afterwards) - or have the leftovers packed up. Very friendly and helpful staff - prices are reasonable and not that expensive. We will come back next time we visit Hamburg!

We actually really enjoy coming and we also bring friends and acquaintances with us. The food is always top and the quantity is very good. However, you don't really feel welcome, all the surrounding tables immediately received an ouzo, which we always forget. ? From now on we will probably always order take away and then save the tip for ouzo at home ;-)

The food is really very good and tasty. You have to make compromises when it comes to service. The waiters sometimes hardly speak any German, so orders sometimes arrive incorrectly or something is forgotten. The following can be said about the ambience: it has just been renovated and it looks good. The expansion was also good for the store

The quality of the food has remained unchanged for years and is absolutely great! I now know what portion size I can almost manage and I always take Tupperware with me for the leftovers. You have to know that take-away containers are no longer allowed. Unless you take deposit containers, which will then cost a lot of money. The Greeks are still generous with take-away boxes for food. But a request to everyone, take containers for your leftovers!!!

We were there on a Friday evening. You should definitely make a reservation. As always, we received a very friendly welcome. As a starter we had the pickled peppers. The main course was the Dimitri plate and a children's gyro with tomato rice. I'm actually a good eater and couldn't manage the portion alone. The service staff is friendly and very attentive. Typically Greek, it is a bit louder in the dining room and also behind the counter. Thank you for the delicious food. We'll definitely see each other again soon 😊

Obviously this restaurant has a lot of regulars and basically a lot of fans. Unfortunately we can't understand it. Only the size of the portions was, as usual with Greeks, more than sufficient. Quality of the food, on the other hand, was very average, decoration or obviously lovingly prepared things on the plate - none. It seemed like a quick turnaround even though there wasn't much going on. There were 4 waiters running around, more than enough for the number of guests, but the service was still extremely slow and we had to wait a total of 25 minutes for the bill. The worst thing for me came last: the toilet. No paper in the 2 cabins, nor towel paper, but all the more bits of it all over the floor and toilet seats full of pee. Of course, the guests are always primarily to blame for this, but the restaurant should still check the condition regularly. It's a shame, as the location and the terrace are really nice (what I saw of the inside is debatable), but we probably won't come back.

In terms of things, it's okay. Unfortunately, the meat is so fatty that the three of us all had extreme diarrhea after eating there :( And sorting out the fat from the gyros is also annoying. Better smaller portions. And I would recommend higher quality

Visited on June 18, 2024 around 4 p.m. Food too salty. I was extremely thirsty at home. Many service staff but inattentive. Look around several times without reacting. Wanted to take the rest of the food with us. We were given a bowl and had to pack it ourselves. That wasn't done. No ouzo was offered. Probably not common because this was also the case with friends. Parquet very slippery. Grab handles have already been installed. Seat size does not match the table. This is the case with big and small people. A pity! That was different. ...and for my birthday.

Simply too full for the entire package, staff sometimes very cold and totally overpriced. Completely dissatisfied!!!!

The food was delicious, service was good, everything was perfect.

The portion of gyros was, as usual, very tasty and, as always, too big. When the weather was nice, we were able to sit outside and end the day.

The Pita Gyros is simply a blast for the more than fair price; here you can actually get enough food even on a small budget. I say this openly and honestly, as a matter of principle I don't spend €10 on a kebab or something similar, something like that is completely inappropriate. The meat is usually nice and crispy, and all the side dishes taste fresh and solid. You should realistically see the location as an upscale snack bar, I personally don't see it as a restaurant as a whole. The dishes are mixed in terms of quality and sophistication, which is why I consciously say that they are more of a snack level, but they are really very good. But I haven't had the main courses for a long time, which is why I'm primarily referring to the pita. P.S. Unfortunately, parking is not easy here, I usually come by bike.

Schade, Essen war nicht so doll - eine Lammhaxe, das Fleisch hart und kaum vom Knochen zu trennen schon gar nicht mit den stumpfen Messern und die Pommes kamen erst , nachdem die Haxe gegessen war. Für meine Frau war vegetarisch ausser einer Vorspeise nichts geboten - verstehe daher den Hinweis "für Vegetarier geeignet" nicht - wir werden nicht wieder kommen.

Fulfills what you can expect from a good Greek restaurant, nice ambience, outside with a large terrace with plenty of seating, staff very friendly, portions good and tasty. The sanitary facilities are a bit old, but they didn't influence my positive impression, hence a well-deserved 5 stars.

I was hoping for more from the review. A Greek where the price/performance ratio amazed me more than the quality. Compared to the kebab shop nearby, you get a lot more for your money for less (e.g. Gyros Pita). However, I still see potential for improvement when it comes to the spices, the “crispiness” and the quality of the gyro. It will definitely delight the run-of-the-mill Alman palate!

Typical Greek. Food is prepared snack-style behind the counter directly on the grill. However, this contributes to the very cozy atmosphere. After the expansion renovation, there are now a lot of seats in the interior dining area. In summer it felt like there were as many seats on the terrace in front of the restaurant. The food is very tasty and typically Greek, the portions are very generous. I like to just order a children's gyro plate so that I can easily share this portion with someone. There is always an ouzo with it, even if you only order your food to take away. The atmosphere in the restaurant team always seems to be excellent, without exception. Clear recommendation!

I bought a gyro there today, the gyro is chopped up so small it's almost minced, it's not really possible to pierce it, use a knife again, it's enough for the Turks to chop everything up.

Best money/quality ratio ever seen!

Unfortunately I can't agree with all the positive descriptions. I ate there yesterday based on a recommendation. 1. Friendly and fast service 2. Large portions But that's it, unfortunately the taste is pretty low. From salad to main course. No olive in the salad, the dressing was totally bland, no onions in the gyros, the feta in the bifteki was totally runny and anyone expecting tomato rice will be disappointed here (there is only normal rice with a thin tomato sauce on top). It's more of a fast food joint than a restaurant.
