Super tasty...the boss himself works hard every day...I've admired him for years...his hard work for his business

Extremely friendly staff and the finest gyros. That was really, really strong! We ate pita. Although there were no fries (that's how I know it), it was still very tasty.

Service typically Greek friendliness, strict and direct. Everything looks very dingy. The main thing is enough to feed a late shift worker who has toiled for 14 hours without a break in a diamond mine near Johannesburg. But taste bland Salad without dressing, without olive, without feta. Has nothing to do with a Greek. Then we just have to wait until Taverna Mykonos opens again 🥲🥺

Nice friendly way too much for one person

Location molto basica come da imbiss . Ci sta tutto. La mia recensione negativa e' dovuta solo ed esclusivamente al cameriere ( siamo andati via senza ordinare niente ) . Ci sediamo e chiediamo al cameriere teutonico chiedendo scusa per non parlare il tedesco - lui scrolla le spalle ci fa capire che il menu e' solo in lingua teutonica e che non ha nessuna intenzione di spiegarci nulla. Va via in modo molto scortese . Poi ritorna a prendere l'ordine chiediamo 2 ghyros lui ci dice sempre in modo molto scortese che la carne e' kaput , andata non c'e' . Ci alziamo e andiamo via . Classica cortesia tedesca e non e' la prima volta che ci trattano cosi. Meditate e non mettete piede in questo ristorante.

Since “The Greek” was within walking distance of our hotel, we tried it out. The food was really good and the portions were so huge that we didn't manage to finish our plates despite being very hungry. The ambience is really more of a snack bar than a restaurant - which would still be bearable. I deducted one star because our table was completely sticky - it doesn't seem to have been cleaned properly in days. That was really uncomfortable.

Unfortunately I can't rate the food. However, in my opinion the service is a disaster. Correct me if I'm wrong... I place an order for over €400 and in the end it fails because I live 3 km away. A pure disaster. They have definitely lost me as a customer.

The Greek is no longer as good as it used to be... The quality of the meat is very poor, especially with the gyros.

Best Greek in Hamburg. No matter when you come, even if it's been a while since your last visit, you'll be greeted and served in a super friendly and courteous manner. Extra requests for food will be taken into account. Price performance is great. We live in the suburbs of Hamburg and plan to visit every now and then.

We enjoyed the food. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The rooms are a bit too rustic and the constant blast of music that was too loud was downright annoying. Finding a parking space can be difficult.

This is a bistro type restaurant with a large takeaway business too. We were very happy to have an outside table on a hot evening. The food was excellent, very generous portions and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The owners were genuinely keen to know how we'd found them (map search close tour hotel, with good reviews) given we were visiting from England. There's no shortage if food outlets in the area, but this has to be one of, if not the, best. Great food, great staff, reasonable prices. Highly recommended. Next time I'm in Hamburg, I'll be back

Portion size unbeatable, but I think the days of going to the Greek restaurant because we get loads of meat for little money are over, Metaxa sauce is very bland, bifteki and gyros are very tasty, we used to eat there regularly since yesterday, I think it was but for the future. The waiter is only friendly to the guests he likes, we were always lucky, he was friendly but the service was poor, we ordered two Mytos, got 1x Mytos & 1x Holsten when we asked why we didn't get two Mytos, the waiter said We looked for errors and said who would drink the Holsten from us, otherwise he would have to throw it away. I find the service technically rather questionable. Now taking away food that wasn't delivered now costs €1.50 for packaging, okay everything It costs money now but we're back to that The customer expects a large portion at the Greek restaurant, but if I don't pay €1.50 the food ends up in the bin, which isn't exactly very sustainable, which I found really frightening. I threw a pack on the table and here you can pack it yourself for 2 meals and 2 large and 2 small beers €62 isn't a bargain either as there are other Greek restaurants in the same price range where I'm even asked if I like it etc. It's a shame but at some point all good things come to an end.

Huge portions at low prices 😎 That was once 😢 Now just expensive, with poor quality. You can't even get an ouzo for €35 anymore Gyros are like chopped meat. Nothing at all thin and crispy... Rice for €4.50 is quite an announcement... Fries are pure wobbly... Too bad.....

Grilled lamb was amazing. Tried it twice. It's better with rice. But beware the size of the portions, they are very large.

Food top A bit of a long wait as it was very busy but otherwise the service was good. Particularly suitable for take-away as the restaurant is not particularly large.

Always good whether on site or to take away! lots and tasty! And the rotating skewers are made fresh in the morning and all of them in the evening! What more can you say! As always, it was delicious!

We came here quite spontaneously with my family. The selection is what you would expect from a Greek takeaway. The gyros (which the boss skewers himself every morning) are very spicy and very tasty. The tzatziki was just as tasty, the salad could have used a little more sauce, but was still quite good. The service was nice and quick. All in all a good Greek - it's a shame I don't live nearby 😉

The ambience could be nicer, seems a bit old-fashioned. The service is nice and quick to serve. But the food wasn't really tasty. The gyro was rather wobbly and the tomato sauce could hardly be seen or tasted. With tzatziki you tend to eat quark. The garlic and the spice are missing.

DER GRIECHE became a regular restaurant during my kitchen renovation. There are many authentic and very tasty Greek dishes, a very extensive menu (you can also try something in the oven!) and huge portions. Fortunately, there is also a section for the "small" hunger! Incredibly good gyros, original salads and condiments, great service and an absolutely fair price-performance ratio! I find the atmosphere more like a tavern than a snack bar. You can also sit outside (4-lane road, but sunny in the evenings). Parking situation difficult.

Friendliness somehow fluctuates or depends on the respective staff. Pitas were always very tasty, but the fries and schnitzel were unfortunately very soggy and not well seasoned. TOO much even for a snack! Better quality instead of quantity...

Simply disappointed, you were once one of the best in Hamburg... Now the quality of the gyro is just disgusting, wobbly, extremely greasy, well never again!!!!

The decor and service were nice, but I wasn't particularly impressed with the lamb chops. They tasted like sheep🐑, as paradoxical as it sounds, but anyone who knows the problem would understand it🤪 Also, I asked for rice instead of fries, but fries came anyway. We would come back for a starter, but not for something serious...

Super delicious Greek snack with restaurant flair. We had Metaxa Gyros with Pmmes. Very good and a mega portion. The service was quick and super nice. And as written on the menu, the Ouzo Cola also tastes great.

Price performance is more than optimal. A large portion of gyros is big and at a fair price. Despite the quantity, the quality does not suffer! Service is very friendly and the store is very clean. The toilets are also great.

Small restaurant located near the Volksschule hotel, where I always stay when I am in Hamburg. The food is good, not high quality, but certainly very decent considering the price you pay, and the quantity of food is also well matched.

The food wasn't special. I wouldn't recommend. Had grilled chicken breast. The color of the meat didn't look appetizing (like billo meat from the supermarket), my friend's gyros were the same, somehow not cooked properly.... The large salad was okay, quite tasty with the feta (also plenty). I wanted tuna on my salad, but the waitress refused, which I found extremely unfriendly and incompetent. (He said, we don't do that, even though they offer tuna salad). The coleslaw wasn't tasty either. The portion size was ok. Well, you can eat there, you'll get full, but from what we had, I wouldn't recommend it and probably won't eat there again either.

The food is good and plentiful, actually a lot. We "only" had one pita gyro, but I've rarely had one that big. And not too greasy, really tasty. It's just a shame that there wasn't a free space at the moment, so we took it with us. Pre-ordering seems to be mandatory here. We'd love to come back.

Ein toller griechischer Imbiss mit Sitzmöglichkeiten. Sehr leckeres, frisches, günstiges Essen. Große Portion. Super nettes Personal. Der Spieß wird selber gemacht und alle anderen Zutaten sind auch immer frisch.

I had gyros with cheese gratinated in Metaxa sauce. Unfortunately the sauce was as thin as water. Canned champions cut into the sauce. Wasn't a hit

There were incredible quantities on the plate. The small portion is enough. 😉 I thought the Greek radio in the background was great.

The food is always very tasty and the portions are very large (the two of us eat a gyro plate with side dishes). The restaurant is very small and usually noisy, so we always take something to go. However, it is always fully booked (so it's best to reserve a table) Card payment is now possible with all common cards, which is why it has been upgraded to 5 stars.

Wurde mir empfohlen. Bin in den Laden rein und dachte nur so "Oha, so voll is das hier? Dauert bestimmt ewig bis ich mein Essen bekomme...". Hab Gyros mit Salat und Pommes bestellt und könnte nach nur 3(!) Minuten meine Bestellung entgegen nehmen. Besser geht's nicht! :) Salat war sehr frisch, das Fleisch komplett durchgebraten, saftig und Mega lecker. Der Inhaber war auch sehr höflich. Werde dort jetzt öfter mal auf einen leckeren Gyrosteller vorbeikommen. (mitnehmen is nich so mein Ding, wegen Kondenswasser in der Tüte). Preis für diese Megaportion absolut angemessen. Unglaublich dass ich von dieser Perle erst jetzt Wind bekommen habe :-)) Klare Empfehlung an jeden Gyros Liebhaber!!! 👍😎🏺

Sehr leckeres Essen, zu fairen Preisen, leider gibt es keine klassische Speisen Karte Alles über Smartphones, ist nicht für jeden geeignet ,ältere oder menschliche mit Inklusion. Sonst ein Lokal zum nett treffen und quatschen.

Das Essen war unfassbar lecker und die Portion war riesig! Wir können es sehr empfehlen. Lediglich das Ambiente ist eher wie ein Imbiss und könnte eventuell eine Modernisierung gebrauchen.

Es sieht auf den ersten Blick von außen nicht perfekt aus, aber geh rein nimm Platz und lass dich verwöhnen. Alle von uns bestellten Speisen waren ausgezeichnet im Geschmack und die Portionen waren reichlich (gibt auch kleine Portionen). Der Service war sehr nett und hatte gute Tipps für uns und die Kids. Wir waren zum Schluss sehr zufrieden und wurden auch nicht von einer hohen Rechnung überrascht. Die Preise sind für die Qualität und Quantität sehr gut. Vielen Dank an die Inhaber/ Servicekräfte.
