Taverna Alexandros in Hamburg

We were looking for a Greek restaurant that was open on a Monday. A quick Google search found Taverna Alexandros. We jumped in the car and headed off. Since parking is a bit tight, we were about to leave. But wait, a parking space became available. Luckily, though, because otherwise we would have missed out on some truly delicious food. It tasted just like we know and love from Greece. The portions are very generous. Unfortunately, we live 530 km away, otherwise we would go more often. But we'll definitely stop by again during our short trip.

The food is good and the prices are reasonable. Apparently, the shop is doing too well, though; I almost always wait more than an hour for a delivery. So, one star deducted. It's probably impossible to speed things up in such a small shop when it's busy—still a shame. I would order more often if it only took around 30 minutes.

Really tasty, fast service, friendly staff

Ordered today at 7:24 PM. They said it would be delivered in an hour. It arrived an hour and a half later. I ordered a souvlaki plate, swapping the pork souvlaki for lamb. The lamb was cold, the fries were soggy and lukewarm. It cost €19.90 including delivery. A week earlier, it had been €19.50, but it was just as cold. Just for your information: The souvlaki plate regularly costs €15.90. So, I thought the €4 surcharge for lamb versus pork on a skewer was excessive, so I called. With a irascible southern mentality and a complete lack of customer interest, the person on the phone responded to my complaints as follows: What do I think, are we all sleeping here? I have to accept that the food, with so much going on here, would be half an hour late. Okay, let's move on. Okay, let's move on. When I complained about the cardboard fries and the lukewarm lamb, I was told that couldn't be right (so, this is my first time lying). They explained to me that they hadn't charged an extra €4 for the lamb skewer, but only €3. The €1 was a delivery fee. Yes, okay, despite years of loyalty, the delivery fee was beyond my knowledge. But here's the thing: I had LIE about my complaint about the €4 surcharge (lied twice)! And I could order somewhere else next time. With that, the arrogant person hung up. YES, I WILL! 80 marks for two half-cold pieces of crap? No thanks! Customer focus, helpfulness, and service look different! I would describe the alcohol consumption at the bar, along with the corresponding behavior of the guests during my two actual visits to this so-called "restaurant," as abysmal and unbearable – which is why I only ordered delivery. There's nothing wrong with the quality of their gyro, but otherwise, absolutely nothing is right here!

We had food delivered. Very generous portions of truly delicious food. The delivery was much quicker than stated. Great! Friendly driver.

This was my first time ordering food for pickup here. Therefore, I can only review the food. My order was ready on time, and when I unpacked it at home, the grilled dish was warm and filling. It was a typical Greek dish: spicy, not dry, and the tomato rice was really good. The quantity was more than sufficient; I could eat it for two days. The extra portion of olives I ordered could easily feed four people. Overall, this taverna is now one of my favorites because the price/performance ratio is just right.

I had it delivered to the hotel. Everything works perfectly. Faster than said on the phone. The gyros plate was mega big. That would have been enough for 2. Oh yes, it was packaged really well and it was delicious too. Only the mayo was a bit too runny for me. But otherwise very good. Tzatziki was very tasty and fresh. Fries not yet soggy (delivery!), and meat well seasoned. I would be happy to order there again. Well, and the price/performance ratio is unbeatable these days.

Waited 1 hour and 58 minutes even though we live 10 minutes away from the store. Order arrived incomplete.

We've been waiting for our food for 2 hours. It's a real shame because our stomachs are growling!!! We ordered at 5:45 p.m. and it's 7:53 p.m. So that's a bit exaggerated!!!

Es gibt keinen besseren Griechen in Lohbrügge als ihn. Ich und meine Familie sind immer Papensatt wenn wir gehen, weiter so jungs und Mädels. Ihr alle macht ein super Job.

Zum ersten Mal etwas bestellt. Essen ist mega lecker und reichhaltig, (Gyros) leider zum vor Ort essen etwas sehr klein. Positiv ein sehr zügiger Lieferdienst.

Taverna Alexandros macht alles richtig! Die Portionen im Verhältnis zum Preis sind fair. Der Fahrer ist JEDES mal freundlich und entspannt. Das Gyros schmeckt sowohl als einzelnes Gericht, als auch auch in der Pitatasche ausgezeichnet. :) Danke für diese Qualität!

Wow, so lecker und reichhaltig! Grillplatte für 3 und einmal Bifteki reichen für mind. 5 Personen. Morgen gibt es also Reste 😊 Lieferzeit schneller als angegeben. Absolute Empfehlung, wir werden wieder bestellen / hingehen. Dankeschön!!

Die Pommes mussten wir leider weg werfen, die waren kalt und gummiartig. Das Fleisch war OK.

Diese Bewertung schreibe ich sehr zweigeteilt. Wieso? Ich hab schon einige Male dort gegessen und das Essen dort hat echt immer super geschmeckt. Aaaber...bisher wurde original bei JEDER Bestellung etwas falsch gemacht. Zwiebeln drin / drauf, wo ich ausdrücklich gesagt habe, dass ich keine möchte. Pommes anstelle Reis bekommen, etc. Das kann doch echt nicht sein, dass wirklich bei jeder Bestellung etwas falsch geliefert / vergessen wird! Und das bei einem Restaurant, welches es schon seit über 25 Jahren gibt. Schon mal was von Zettel und Stift gehört? Was für weitere Abzüg gesorgt hat ist die Tatsache, dass der Kundenservice nicht besonders gut ist. Häufig dauert es beim reinkommen gefühlt 5 Minuten bis man überhaupt mal begrüßt wird und die Besitzer gucken einen immer an als würde man gerade stören oder als wären sie auf einer Beerdigung und nicht im Restaurant. Da gibt's noch Verbesserungspotental!
