The service is very friendly. You don't have to wait long for food and drink. I feel very comfortable in the restaurant. Everything is very clean.

Overall, most were happy with their food. We were 30 people. Including 4 people who had vegan food. With bulgur. It tasted very tasty. But we were all still hungry. Because the portion wasn't exactly big. I also think the price is overpriced in relation to the meat dishes. Because bulgur costs much less compared to meat. The other ingredients in the dish don't cost the earth either. I just think it's a shame to overprice the dish just because it's vegan. I cook a lot with these ingredients myself and know that it is not an expensive dish.

Yesterday we were at the Golden Swan with almost 100 people. Ambience... A matter of taste. Eat…. Good middle class (a few colleagues had something to complain about, I didn't ;)) Here we would actually be at 3-4 out of 5 stars. I really give it 5 stars for the really strong staff. Fast, extremely friendly and happy to fulfill small requests for changes (you can try it here in Cologne 😂). I also admire the kitchen staff, who “delivered” like a pearl necklace. Thank you very much, that was really an impressive achievement.

Restaurant with traditional Thuringian dishes such as beef roulades with dumplings or crackers with kale. But there are also good vegetarian dishes. Everything we ordered was fresh and tasted good. Of course you also have to mention the home-brewed beers. There are also seasonal beers such as Winterbier or Maibock. We had the black beer and the winter beer with 6% ABV. Both were very tasty. The prices are more than ok for the size of the portions. Our service was very friendly and attentive.

Das Ambiente und die Einrichtung sind im Stil einer alten Brauerei. Sehr schön. Das Personal war freundlich und versucht jeden Wunsch zu erfüllen. Die Gerichte sind zwar schön angerichtet aber vom Geschmack her nichts besonderes. Deswegen sind die Preise völlig übertrieben. Zum Beispiel ein Schweineschnitzel für 24,60€. Für uns leider kein zweites mal.

A tip not just for family celebrations: just try the roast pork in black beer sauce with Thuringian dumplings and... yes... savoy cabbage vegetables (new menu 2025). That was so delicious. Next time I would jet from Leipzig to Erfurt just because of this dish...

In addition to the delicious and rich food, It was the friendliness of the staff that was particularly positive. The food is traditional with a seasonal menu. The mushrooms come from our own cultivation. Home-brewed beer was on top.

Ich war im Rahmen eines dienstlichen Weihnachtsessen mit einer größeren Gruppe hier. Ich kannte das Restaurant bisher noch überhaupt nicht. Das Ambiente war sehr schön, das Essen war sehr lecker und die Bedienung war auch sehr freundlich und flink. Insgesamt war es ein wunderbarer Abend, den ich im Restaurant verbracht habe.

We ate at the Goldener Schwan on December 14th, 2024 during our visit to Erfurt. It was a culinary journey through good old Thuringian cuisine. From the starter to the main course to the dessert, it is simply indescribable. I have to particularly emphasize the service. Our service was extremely friendly, on the ball and made our stay an experience. It is advisable to reserve a table, especially during the Christmas season.

We were here as a large group of >12 people. A colleague had pre-ordered which was certainly very helpful. Drinks and food are very good and everyone was full from their portions. Zum Goldenen Schwan is a great spot, especially if you're a fan of house-brewed beer. Their Pils was delicious - crisp and refreshing! A nice touch is that you can even take their beer home in 1-liter bottles. We stopped by for lunch and tried their seasonal pumpkin menu. The pumpkin soup, spiced with orange and ginger, was comforting and perfect for a cool day. The pumpkin tart with green beans was tasty, but the pastry was unfortunately soggy, and the sweet berry sauce drizzled on top seemed out of place and didn’t quite fit the dish. The service was efficient and polite, and the prices are fair. Overall, a pleasant experience, especially if you're after great beer!

Very nice and very full traditional restaurant, almost too full for me. Nevertheless, we were served quickly and friendly (we had ordered the food in advance!). Not exactly cheap. Many stairs in the house, entrance and toilets are definitely not suitable for wheelchair users or people with walking difficulties. The portions were normal, I filled up well with my salad with chicken breast.

One of the few remaining locations with Thuringian cuisine and in an atmosphere that we can only recommend. The service is also very polite, patient and if you have any questions you will be given the best advice! The quality of the food and drinks is fantastic! Rustic traditional restaurant with a great ambience, lovely service and really good and tasty food. We had the Pottsuse several times as a starter and the duck and beef roulade with Thuringian dumplings as our main course. Fantastically tasty and full of sauce. We'll be back, that's for sure. Thank you very much for the great evening.

Duck tough, tasteless, cooked to death and unseasoned drowned in an indefinable sauce with Thuringian dumplings and red cabbage Mushroom dish with totally overcooked noodles. Sauce without taste and mush. The meat should be chicken breast medallions. A thin piece of turkey schnitzel was delivered... The above-mentioned dishes cost 23.50 euros each. The service shrugged off the complaints as the dishes went back to essential sharing. If tourists tolerate that, we can continue like this... A pity.... The place used to be better.

Very nice beer garden in the inner courtyard. Open-air cinema is right next door. Our highlight were the sidelings, which are grown in Weimar. Otherwise, the food is solid and based on good recipes. But there is room for improvement when it comes to freshness and finesse.

Wir waren mit 8 Personen hier und hatten kurzfristig reserviert. Als wir eintrafen war der Tisch im Biergarten für uns vorbereitet und die Getränkebestellung wurde zügig umgesetzt. Die Essensbestellung ebenfalls, Sonderwünsche wurden berücksichtigt. Insgesamt waren wir alle sehr zufrieden, die Rindsrouladen butterzart, Knödel mit Pilzen sehr gut abgeschmeckt das Brätl sehr schmackhaft. Lediglich das Schnitzel Wiener Art war totgebraten und daher trocken.

Thanks a lot to the Chef who fulfilled my wish to have a dish that’s not on the menu ( Giant Grilled Sausage with French Fries and Salad). That was very tasty and extremely generous portion of salad! Went to this restaurant yesterday for the public viewing. We had a really good spot outside in the beer garden with a direct view of the TV about 6 meters away. My friend ordered a beer for me. A beer please for the young man here, he said to the waitress, she replied, I don't see any young men here, which we didn't like. Then another waitress kept blocking the view of the television as she served people. Exactly in the exciting moments at the game yesterday. I asked her very politely if she would be so kind as to step out of the picture so that everyone could see, because that's why we were there. The answer was completely beneath all dignity. She could have easily served the guests from the other side. No, she says, I'll stay here now, I have to do my work, I can turn off the TV if I don't like it and she said all this repeatedly several times. Then she goes one better and takes the same thing off again 5 minutes later. Same table, she stood in the middle of the picture again and said again and again, I'll stop here now, I have to do my work, in a really provocative way. Kind regards to the operator of the Goldener Schwan restaurant, you should especially give these employees instructions on how to treat paying customers or how to talk to them. That doesn't work at all. I always thought that the customer was king, but in this restaurant the two waitresses certainly didn't understand it. The stairs in the courtyard represent a high risk of accidents for me, which a woman had to experience painfully when she hit her face bloody when she fell on the stairs. Well, whatever, the evening wasn't as nice as expected, especially in the Goldener Schwan restaurant. Our team won and is through. I also had negative experiences and have moved on; it was definitely the last visit for me to this restaurant. Sorry
