A lovely restaurant with a good lunch menu. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The restrooms are clean.

We called while we were out and about and asked if we could still get a seat, and were very friendly and encouraged to come. When we arrived, we were greeted very warmly as well. The service was incredibly friendly, with a good touch of humor, and very unobtrusive. We immediately felt at home. Everyone enjoyed the food! It was delicious, too, and the side salad was super fresh and beautifully presented. Great service, great food, amazing! Thank you so much for everything, we highly recommend it.

The food was fantastic. Freshly pounded schnitzel and fried potatoes with onions and bacon, just as they should be. The salad was dressed just like mom used to make. All in all, wonderful. We'll be back.

Despite the change of ownership, the menu remains the same and the food is as excellent as ever. The outdoor area was full, and the wait for food was what you'd expect when the food is freshly cooked. The service, including the manager, was very friendly. We'll be back on Wednesday 😊

We were at the Zum goldenen Löwen restaurant last night and had a truly lovely evening. Although it was very busy, you could immediately tell how hard the kitchen staff were trying to make everything perfect. The food was outstanding, and the service was exceptionally friendly and attentive. We were happy to wait a little longer because you could tell everything was fresh and prepared with love. We highly recommend this restaurant and are already looking forward to our next visit.

Unfortunately, we waited for our order for an hour and a half. By that time, the people who came and placed orders much later than us had already finished their dishes and received the bill (and there were about 10 or 12 people). It seemed that they forgot about our orders and started quickly preparing them after our reminder 40 minutes later. And after that, we waited another 40 minutes to finally get our dishes. We also had to wait a long time for the bill. My turkey breast was very tough, and the pineapples on it were sweet as for a cake, the dishes of my family were also not very tasty. I give only 1 star to the place for the spoiled impressions of the weekend + 1 star deserved by the delicious lemonade with elderberry.

It could actually be so nice, but the service ruins everything. Drinks were forgotten, dishes were forgotten, even after repeated requests. Re-orders were forgotten, and then there was no indication that payment was only accepted by card. Oh, and the food took almost two hours.

Awesome place! Regional cuisine at its finest – fresh, delicious, and really well-made. You can immediately tell that the cooking here is done with heart and skill. The staff are super friendly, exuding good humor and always smiling. Everything is perfectly seasoned, beautifully presented, and truly authentic. The menu has so many more items we want to try – so of course, we'll be back! Simply wow! 😍 Beautiful ambiance – you immediately feel at home, like you're in a little holiday paradise. The service? Super friendly and attentive, leaving nothing to be desired. And the food… a dream! Especially the Weinstraße dish – so incredibly juicy, tender, and full of flavor that you'd want seconds straight away. 😋 Everything was beautifully presented, almost too good to eat (but only almost 😉). We were in the area for three days and actually ate here all three days – it was great every time! The menu has so many dishes we absolutely want to try – so one thing's for sure: We'll definitely be back! 💯 Absolutely recommend it – everything here is just perfect!

Beautiful location, attentive service. The food was okay, okay, but didn't blow us away based on the reviews; it lacked a certain zest throughout. At 8:15 PM, everything was cheerfully cleared away and closed. Okay, but not great.

I had a Weinstraße schnitzel. The dish sounded very interesting at first. Unfortunately, the meat was very dry...and it came with dry fries. It's a shame, and considering the price, I wouldn't go back.

We were there around 8:09 p.m. and were told the kitchen had just closed. Opening hours stated until 9:00 p.m.

There were five of us there with our dog. The menu is small but exquisite. We wanted a restaurant with Palatinate specialties, and this was fulfilled. We ordered five different dishes, each lovingly prepared and truly delicious. The staff was attentive, friendly, and even had time for a quick chat. Excellent value for money. Definitely worth a visit.

We were there today with our dog and had lunch outside. The service was super friendly and prompt, and they made sure that not only we, but also the dog, had everything they needed! The homemade lemonade tasted wonderful and, just like the fantastic food, was lovingly and beautifully garnished. We were completely satisfied and can recommend the restaurant with a clear conscience!

What a surprise! The outdoor area is set in a magical spot and is lovingly furnished. The menu is small, but the Lewwerk dumplings and their Palatinate friends are truly delicious. Special praise and thanks go to the service and kitchen staff. They were overwhelmed with guests that day, there was no long wait for the food, and the service was always friendly. Thank you for that.

I ordered pork loin steak. The quality left a lot to be desired. There were a few wilted leaves in the salad. I won't have that again.

My husband and I were really lucky for the first time at Golden Lions Annweiler Essen... we were positively surprised... we only had Greek salad, my husband had sausage salad but the dressing was very good, not everyone can do that, and what we've seen before was what was served was delicious... A wonderful restaurant, I’ve been there five times already... They serve very tasty Metaxa schnitzel. And if we go to the mountains for a walk, we choose something nearby to stop there after the walk for dinner. I highly recommend it👌🏻

Have eaten there several times with my family (toddlers and elementary school students). In addition to the really delicious and fresh food, the incredibly good family-friendly service should be highlighted, probably the best in the city in this regard. We've really traveled a lot throughout the Palatinate but the Metaxa Schnitzel at the Goldener Löwen was really the best thing we've ever eaten and the great service only made the whole experience at the Löwen better!!!

The food is delicious! We've been here before, and it doesn't disappoint. Although, we forgot you can't pay with card here. So, bring cash!

We were there with a large group for the New Year's reception There were no drinks that were on the menu, the food was cold, after returning the cold food you got the same thing warmed up again (minimal). (Great hygiene) You weren't allowed to move tables even though the large group was registered. Price performance too high. Too expensive for the portions you get. Service was nice, there's nothing you can say.

Since we were there with a larger group and made reservations, nothing was organized. The food leaves a lot to be desired and most of it came to the table cold. So I wouldn't visit this restaurant again and wouldn't recommend it.

Unfortunately the food was cold… portions too small for the price And when I gave the food back because it was really cold, I got my cut schnitzel back lukewarm!!!! We were there for dinner with 5 people on 12/30/24 and 12/31/24. The staff is very friendly and the owners are in the kitchen themselves and prepare everything. There are also great and varied dishes on the menu. Everything was very tasty and we will definitely be back. Thank you very much 🙏

Stopped here spontaneously while passing through. The landlord and all the staff are extremely friendly and the food was delicious. The small menu offers something for everyone, from delicious schnitzel dishes to a few vegetarian dishes, salads and Palatinate specialties. There was also homemade lemonade. But the crowning glory for me was the dessert. Rusty knights brought back childhood memories. There were four of us here with our family and we'll definitely turn off the B10 again the next time we're passing through to stop off here. Thank you for the great hospitality.

The food is very good. Everything is fresh, no frozen food. You can tell that cooking is still done with love and passion. Prices are completely okay. The portion is also enough. The owners are very friendly.

I was in Anweiler for work and asked about the best restaurant in the city center. After two conversations I received the same answer twice: “Go to the Golden Lion, for me it’s the best restaurant in the area!” If you two are reading this, thank you for the great tip! This restaurant definitely stands out from the crowd! There is plenty of seating and the atmosphere is great. You immediately feel comfortable. The real highlight, however, is the talented chef who prepares the dishes with a lot of passion and creativity. Her ability to put a modern twist on traditional European dishes is exceptional. The ingredients are of very high quality and you can taste it! Another plus is the careful selection of drinks, which wonderfully complement the culinary delicacies. The attentive staff is friendly and put a big smile on my face - hospitality is very important here! Thank you for the excellent food!

We had dinner with 8 people on Saturday. Since we have eaten in this restaurant many times and have been very satisfied with the food so far (we had also told our friends how good the food is at the Golden Lion), we were a little disappointed with 3 meals this time 😞 We ordered the “Burg Trinity” meal, pork medallions, croquettes and salad. So far we have always been very satisfied with this menu 👍 But this time we were served small pieces of schnitzel as pork medallions. When we told the waiter we were told that it was pork neck🙄 Well, that’s a statement!! The meat in our meal was very tough and dry!!! If I offer medallion as a menu item on the menu, it should be medallion!! Although it is all made from pork, there is still a difference in quality and price. Unfortunately my complaint was not taken seriously at all, it's a shame🤔 The Palatinate dishes from our friends were all delicious😋 We will come back to eat again (my mother's hometown), but we won't order "Burg Trinity" again.

Everything fits: great location, super tasty original. Palatinate food (not industrial food) and a super cheerful “waiter” that you can only find in the Palatinate. 5 out of 5 stars in all areas and I'll go there again.

Restaurant located in the middle of Annweiler's old town with a cozy beer garden next to a fountain. Super nice host! Unfortunately we were in Annweiler too briefly to eat there a second time. But we'll be back. Our Metaxa schnitzel and Barbarossa steak were super tasty. There are also regional specialties there.

This was our first time eating here. There are very few seats in the courtyard, so a reservation seems almost mandatory. We were served by a man and a young woman. Both were very nice. The food was very good. For me it could have been a little more seasoned. I should have actively asked for salt and pepper because we weren't asked if everything was okay - that's why it's "only" 4 stars. I find the prices to be okay, but still on the higher side. We look forward to the next time! 😊

Every year when I'm in Annweiler, I of course eat here at least once. The landlord has a lot of humor and makes you feel very welcome. I can highly recommend the Alsatian schnitzel. And the highlight this year was the “Rusty Knight” dessert.

Lovely terrace under the trees on the square. Casual atmosphere and casual service. I stayed away from the local specialties and chose the regular menu and that was fine.
