Klassische aber hochwertige deutsche Küche, sehr angenehmes Ambiente, in meinem Fall draußen am Brunnen. Service ist hervorragend, Essen sehr schnell auf dem Tisch - Klasse.

Hier war das Essen sehr gut und die Bedienung hilfsbereit und sehr freundlich. Wir waren 2 mal dort.

Wir gehen dort regelmäßig zum Essen, dadurch kann ich auch die meisten Essen für mich beurteilen. Es war noch keines dabei, das nicht super lecker war. Meine Favorite ist das Metaxxaschnitzel mit Käsespätzle, da flippst du aus. Der Service ist sehr nett und wir kennen uns mittlerweile auch, das rundet die Sache ab. Das Restaurant ist eine Empfehlung wert.

Annweiler ist ein wunderschönes Städtchen, hoch oben von drei Burgen geschützt. Ein wirklich schöner, ruhiger und sauberer Ort. Bei unserem letzten Besuch brauchten wir etwas zu essen und landeten im „Zum Goldenen Löwen“. Wir wurden sofort von einem freundlichen Einheimischen begrüßt, der auch unsere drei Hunde willkommen hieß. Nur zur Info: Hunde sind nicht in jedem Restaurant in Annweiler erlaubt. Das Lokal war sauber und ordentlich und befindet sich in einem sehr alten Gebäude. Pfälzische Küche wird hier großgeschrieben, und es gibt einige Gerichte, die den pfälzischen Gaumen verwöhnen. Die Gerichte sind sogar auf Pfälzisch geschrieben, sodass man eventuell Übersetzungshilfe benötigt. 😂 Meine Frau aß Käsespätzle, mein Schwager bestellte etwas, und ich entschied mich für den Qurewäller Cordon Bleu. Ich persönlich bin kein Fan von Leberwurst oder Blutwurst, aber ich wollte mal für einen Abend Pfalzisch sein und sie als Cordon Bleu probieren. Ich bestellte die gegrillte Peperoni als Vorspeise. Die Zubereitung war etwas anders als üblich mit cremiger Knoblauchsauce: Sie war mit Knoblauch und Zwiebeln gegrillt und überraschend lecker. Das Cordon Bleu – normalerweise mit Käse und Schinken gefüllt – war mit Leberwurst und Blutwurst gefüllt. Verständlicherweise mag die Kombination zunächst ungewöhnlich erscheinen, aber wagen Sie es, wenn Sie ein außergewöhnliches kulinarisches Erlebnis suchen. Der Duft war intensiv, aber angenehm, ein bisschen wie Trüffel. Ähnlich verhielt es sich auch beim Essen. Normalerweise esse ich diese beiden Wurstsorten nicht, aber in diesem Fall war die Kombination hervorragend. Das Essen war insgesamt ein Genuss – eine schöne Stadt, freundlicher Service, angenehme Atmosphäre und exzellentes Essen. Auch der Salat war großartig. Geben Sie Ihrem Restaurant eine Chance und lassen Sie Ihre Familie und Freunde verwöhnen! Sogar die Schwiegereltern!

Bester Wurstsalat weit und breit!

Leider viel zu fettig und schwer .. ertränkt mit Hollandaise . Wer hollandaise liebt . Aber halber Liter davon war mir dann doch zu viel und was das mit Metaxa zu tun hat war mir ein Rätsel.. und wo da 4,7 Sterne dann entzieht sich meiner Kenntnis schade

Super netter Kellner. Das Essen war frisch und sehr lecker. Preis-Leistung ist wirklich Okay. Ich kann es nur Empfehlen.

Zu gut bürgerlichem Essen kommt das schöne Ambiente eines alten Gasthaus mit sehr freundlicher Bedienung. Unser Stammrstaurant wenn wir in der Gegend sind. Immer wieder gerne.

Dieses Restaurant liegt in einem Dorf mit wunderschönen Fachwerkhäusern! Der Manager ist unglaublich freundlich und zuvorkommend! Das Essen ist köstlich und bietet regionale Spezialitäten. Die Preise sind sehr angemessen. Ich kann einen Besuch dort wärmstens empfehlen – ein unvergessliches Erlebnis!

Endlich haben wir es mal wieder zum Goldenen Löwen geschafft und das Essen war wieder großartig. Besonders empfehlenswert sind die Schnitzelvariationen und im speziellen das Metaxaschnitzel 🥰. Herzlichen Dank für die schöne Zeit

Ich würde definitiv davon abraten hier essen zu gehen. Wir haben schlechte Erfahrungen gemacht. Das Essen war nicht richtig durch (meine Frau war schwanger zu dem Zeitpunkt). Und das Fleisch sehr sehnig. Die Leute im Service laufen im Kapuzenpulli herum was eher an eine Imbissbude erinnert. Das einzig positive ist das die Dame im Service freundlich ist und versucht die Fehler die in der Küche passieren zu kompensieren. Zu guter Letzt, negative Kommentare werden systematisch gelöscht weshalb so ein falscher Eindruck im Internet repräsentiert wird.

Das Essen war nicht besonders gut. Es war nicht richtig durchgebraten und das Fleisch war zäh. Ich habe schonmal meine Meinung geäußert, jedoch werden negative Kommentare hier regelmäßig gelöscht. Ich würde von einem zweiten Besuch absehen. Die Dame im Service ist nett deshalb 3 Sterne für Sie.

Kleines Lokal. Parkplätze in der Umgebung. Essen sehr lecker. Wirt sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Tisch reservieren ist angebracht. Preise sind ok.

Gestern Abend 18.30 Uhr spontan angerufen wie lange die Küche noch geöffnet ist. 19.30 Uhr war etwas knapp. 19.45 Uhr dann dort gewesen und sehr herzlich empfangen worden. Das Essen war seeeeehr lecker und viel zu viel. Somit bekamen wir die Reste auch noch eingepackt.

We were at the Golden Lion Restaurant today and were unfortunately very disappointed overall. Most of the food seemed like ready-made meals – you could definitely taste it. The pork stomach was delicious, but the sauerkraut tasted like it came from a jar, the mustard came from a small bag, and the bread wasn't fresh restaurant bread, but rather resembled pre-packaged supermarket bread. The steak was tough, cooked all the way through, and tasted like a cheap ready-made marinade from the supermarket – the red marinade even came through the Burgundy sauce. The sauce itself was also extremely salty. Some of the fries were undercooked and also very salty. Unfortunately, the prices were significantly too high for this quality – the value for money is completely out of this world. It's a shame, we were looking forward to a good meal, but we probably won't be coming back.

The food here is incredibly delicious, but the interior is very cramped and cozy. Advance reservations are recommended, as otherwise you might not be able to get a seat.

We were very satisfied with the service and the food. We had Palatinate specialties and were impressed by the impeccable taste of the dishes! The liver and meat dumplings were delicious. We were given a high chair and unsalted fries for our baby – really friendly! We'd love to come back!

We took the bus to the Keschdefest (a traditional German dish) in Annweiler this Saturday. Since the weather wasn't so great, the five of us went here for dinner. It was simply phenomenally good. You can eat really well here, as everything is freshly cooked.

Unqualified staff who didn't know the small menu or the side dishes. Italian owners offer traditional Palatinate dishes, which can't bode well, and that's exactly what happened. Three minutes after serving, there were complaints: the food and plates were lukewarm, supermarket produce, and unprofessional preparation! Ultimately, too expensive.

The service actually deserves six stars. Definitely try the chestnut roast. The homemade lemonade is also delicious and comes in three different flavors. The outdoor seating is lovely.

Service was nice, but upon inquiry, they said: Unfortunately, no card payments—and that's considering the location. It would be a good tip for the tax office. Too bad we didn't get around to testing it.

We arrived at the Goldener Löwen last night around 7:45 PM and wanted something to eat. Unfortunately, we couldn't get anything left because the kitchen was already closed. We walked to the neighboring restaurant, "Zur Gerberei," and ate something there! "Great service" in the "service desert of Germany." It's a good thing there are other restaurant representatives like our neighbors. Never again here!!!

We come here every time we visit the Palatinate and will continue to do so in the future. Delicious food, friendly service, and a cozy atmosphere. If you haven't been to the Golden Lion yet, you're really missing out in Annweiler.

The Golden Lion, a cozy restaurant with a menu that leaves nothing to be desired. Very friendly hosts, and you can tell that everything is freshly prepared. You just have to feel at home here. It's not for nothing that we've been coming here for years.

It was delicious, too, and the side salad was super fresh and beautifully presented. Great service, great food, amazing! Thank you so much for everything, we highly recommend it.

The food was fantastic. Freshly pounded schnitzel and fried potatoes with onions and bacon, just as they should be. The salad was dressed just like mom used to make. All in all, wonderful. We'll be back.

We were at the Zum goldenen Löwen restaurant last night and had a truly lovely evening. Although it was very busy, you could immediately tell how hard the kitchen staff were trying to make everything perfect. The food was outstanding, and the service was exceptionally friendly and attentive. We were happy to wait a little longer because you could tell everything was fresh and prepared with love. We highly recommend this restaurant and are already looking forward to our next visit.

Unfortunately, we waited for our order for an hour and a half. By that time, the people who came and placed orders much later than us had already finished their dishes and received the bill (and there were about 10 or 12 people). It seemed that they forgot about our orders and started quickly preparing them after our reminder 40 minutes later. And after that, we waited another 40 minutes to finally get our dishes. We also had to wait a long time for the bill. My turkey breast was very tough, and the pineapples on it were sweet as for a cake, the dishes of my family were also not very tasty. I give only 1 star to the place for the spoiled impressions of the weekend + 1 star deserved by the delicious lemonade with elderberry.

It could actually be so nice, but the service ruins everything. Drinks were forgotten, dishes were forgotten, even after repeated requests. Re-orders were forgotten, and then there was no indication that payment was only accepted by card. Oh, and the food took almost two hours.

The staff are super friendly, exuding good humor and always smiling. Everything is perfectly seasoned, beautifully presented, and truly authentic. The menu has so many more items we want to try – so of course, we'll be back! Simply wow! 😍 Beautiful ambiance – you immediately feel at home, like you're in a little holiday paradise. The service? Super friendly and attentive, leaving nothing to be desired. And the food… a dream! Especially the Weinstraße dish – so incredibly juicy, tender, and full of flavor that you'd want seconds straight away. 😋 Everything was beautifully presented, almost too good to eat (but only almost 😉). We were in the area for three days and actually ate here all three days – it was great every time! The menu has so many dishes we absolutely want to try – so one thing's for sure: We'll definitely be back! 💯 Absolutely recommend it – everything here is just perfect!

There were five of us there with our dog. The menu is small but exquisite. We wanted a restaurant with Palatinate specialties, and this was fulfilled. What a surprise! The outdoor area is set in a magical spot and is lovingly furnished. The menu is small, but the Lewwerk dumplings and their Palatinate friends are truly delicious. Special praise and thanks go to the service and kitchen staff. They were overwhelmed with guests that day, there was no long wait for the food, and the service was always friendly. Thank you for that.

I ordered pork loin steak. The quality left a lot to be desired. There were a few wilted leaves in the salad. I won't have that again.

A wonderful restaurant, I’ve been there five times already... They serve very tasty Metaxa schnitzel. And if we go to the mountains for a walk, we choose something nearby to stop there after the walk for dinner. I highly recommend it👌🏻
