Basically it was OK - we got a table spontaneously and were served quickly. Drinks and food were as expected, the service seemed humorous with a tendency to be sly. Woodeye be vigilant…😉

Only had a few drinks, but very nice atmosphere and the entourage and the owner were also pleasant.

We had dinner with 8 people on Saturday. Since we have eaten in this restaurant many times and have been very satisfied with the food so far (we had also told our friends how good the food is at the Golden Lion), we were a little disappointed with 3 meals this time 😞 We ordered the “Burg Trinity” meal, pork medallions, croquettes and salad. So far we have always been very satisfied with this menu 👍 But this time we were served small pieces of schnitzel as pork medallions. When we told the waiter we were told that it was pork neck🙄 Well, that’s a statement!! The meat in our meal was very tough and dry!!! If I offer medallion as a menu item on the menu, it should be medallion!! Although it is all made from pork, there is still a difference in quality and price. Unfortunately my complaint was not taken seriously at all, it's a shame🤔 The Palatinate dishes from our friends were all delicious😋 We will come back to eat again (my mother's hometown), but we won't order "Burg Trinity" again.

Everything fits: great location, super tasty original. Palatinate food (not industrial food) and a super cheerful “waiter” that you can only find in the Palatinate. 5 out of 5 stars in all areas and I'll go there again.

This was our first time eating here. There are very few seats in the courtyard, so a reservation seems almost mandatory. We were served by a man and a young woman. Both were very nice. The food was very good. For me it could have been a little more seasoned. I should have actively asked for salt and pepper because we weren't asked if everything was okay - that's why it's "only" 4 stars. I find the prices to be okay, but still on the higher side. We look forward to the next time! 😊

Restaurant located in the middle of Annweiler's old town with a cozy beer garden next to a fountain. Super nice host! Unfortunately we were in Annweiler too briefly to eat there a second time. But we'll be back. Our Metaxa schnitzel and Barbarossa steak were super tasty. There are also regional specialties there.

Every year when I'm in Annweiler, I of course eat here at least once. The landlord has a lot of humor and makes you feel very welcome. I can highly recommend the Alsatian schnitzel. And the highlight this year was the “Rusty Knight” dessert.

Beautifully located in the heart of the historic old town. When the weather is nice, you can sit very comfortably in the outdoor area at the Prangertshof. The restaurant offers a variety of dishes with a focus on Palatinate cuisine. Casual atmosphere - highly recommended overall.

Ordered a small non-alcoholic beer (with the meal), the bill came to 5.90 euros! Kindly pointed out the error. “Boss” became angry and derogatory towards us. 1x, never again!

today on July 14th. We asked for a seat at 7:40 p.m. - a waitress said harshly, without saying hello or saying anything else, "Kitchen closed, no seat" and left again. But there were obviously places available. I hadn't even asked about the kitchen (yet). Outrageous, the restaurant looked very nice, opening hours according to the internet until 9 p.m.

Had a very good meal here. Starter and main course very tasty. Grilled pepperoni was nice and spicy, Alsatian schnitzel, Metaxa schnitzel and side salads were very good. Salad isn't just drowned in dressing but very well prepared. Warm welcome, we felt very comfortable. Thank you very much, I'll be happy to come back when I get the chance.

Nice place to stay and have some delicious, traditional food.

The wait staff were very friendly and the food was really good. This is a relaxed “down home” type of restaurant. This is a Pfalzische style of German restaurant where you can get local varieties of German favorites like schnitzel Alsatian style (really close to Alsace), wurst, saumagen, among other things. We liked this restaurant and the folks who run it so much that we ate there both nights of our trip. You will not go away hungry or dissatisfied.

Very tasty food with great service, absolutely nice and friendly!

The operation and service was competent and very friendly. Unfortunately, my girlfriend and I found the food absolutely nothing special. Rather very simple. No homemade spaetzle, the sauce tasted like a packet sauce. The pasta with vegetables tasted okay, but nothing more. We found value for money to be poor given the rather small portions.

A beautiful Pentecost day. Beer garden weather. The landlord is nice, polite, accommodating, with a sense of humor. The waitress doesn't seem to have worked that often, which was a bit confusing. A nice end to a great trip. The food was really good and the portion was appropriate, the salad was deliciously prepared. Price-performance ok. When making homemade lemonade, you should pay attention to the mixing ratio. The first one tasted super delicious. There wasn't much syrup in the second one. The beer garden doesn't have much seating, but is still cozy

This place has incredible food with very friendly and helpful service. We came down after we visited the castle and we will absolutely be returning. The food was so good, we forgot to take photos until everything was almost gone!

Clear recommendation! We were there at the weekend with a larger group, once for dinner and again the next day spontaneously for a spritzer. The food is really tasty and sufficient. Totally justified for the price. Schnitzel top, salad top, Palatinate platter too. We also got spritzers and schnapps on the house. The service was unbeatable. It's rare to experience so much wit, kindness and relaxedness. We'll definitely be back.

Very nice innkeeper and staff, they are happy to have a chat. The food was very tasty and we were well fed. I find some of the drinks to be too expensive compared to the local competition. Wine spritzer 0.5 liters for 6 euros, or espresso for 3 euros are too much. Maybe Also remove the cobwebs in one or two corners. Otherwise it was a great, successful evening.

Were here for the first time. The restaurant was beautifully decorated. The prices are slightly above normal levels. Unfortunately, no bread was served with the sheep's cheese. When we asked if we could have bread, the answer was yes, but we still didn't get any bread. A pity.

After our trip to Annweiler yesterday, we wanted to end the day with dinner. We chose this restaurant and we were definitely NOT disappointed!! All the previous reviews have said “it must be really good there” and YES, it was incredibly good. It's been a very long time since I've eaten something so tasty and down-to-earth. This chef can cook damn well ;-) I always find that you can tell straight away from the sauce on the side salad whether someone knows their craft or not. And yes, the salad dressing was excellent. For the main course we had the Grumbeerpfännel (fried potatoes, black pudding and liver sausage), the Burg Dreifaltigkeit (pork medallions, mushrooms, gravy and croquettes), Metaxaschnitzel (breaded pork schnitzel with a Metaxa sauce and gratinated with fries) and an Alsatian schnitzel (breaded pork schnitzel Pork with creme fraische, bacon and onions with fries) Everything was fantastic throughout. Tender meat, gravy pulled from bones, crispy fries - what more could you want?! Now a quick word about the host - what a "cool guy", super friendly, funny, accommodating. Without our daughter asking for dessert, he went out of the restaurant, across the street to the ice cream parlor and just randomly brought her two scoops of ice cream - of course she was very happy. In short, a great place and we won't be there for the last time!!!

We were there with a hiking group. The landlord was really funny and took a lot of time for us. A child wanted an ice cream, so he ran with the child to the neighboring ice cream parlor. The food was very good and in the end we couldn't tear ourselves away from this great restaurant! We will be back!!

A small, very cozy Palatinate restaurant with a very warm atmosphere. You were greeted very friendly and immediately treated like a regular, even though it was your first time there. The landlord is a very warm and funny person who you immediately like. The food was ready quickly and was very warm right down to the last bite. The Weinstrasse schnitzel was served in a pan that retained the heat very well. The meat was very tender and the sweet taste of the wine jelly, baked with cheese, was delicious and perfectly combined The fries were ok. The sauce from the side salad was also delicious. Price-performance ratio was definitely right. At the end we got a nightcap on the house and went home completely satisfied and full. I don't really want to Rate it too well, otherwise you won't get a seat at the end because everyone wants to go there........but I'll give it to the landlord👍😉

Sehr gemütlich da, und der Service ist Perfekt. Gute deutsche Küche, wie bei Oma daheim.kommen gerne wieder.

Das Essen (Fleeschknepp) war sehr lecker! Allerdings: Die Bedienung, obwohl sehr freundlich und mit einem tollen Lächeln, kann leider sehr schlecht deutsch und noch schlechter rechnen. Lauwarmer Espresso für 3,50€ ist auch unerfreulich. Genau wie die Toilette über'm Hof, in der beide Urinale nicht zu benutzen waren. Schade.

Hatten zu viert einen wunderschönen Abend im goldenen Löwen 👍 mit sehr freundlicher Bedienung und im angenehmen Ambiente. Keine langen Wartezeiten, der Kellner war immer für uns da, sehr angenehm alles!!! Die Schnitzelvarianten… sehr lecker!! Der Beilagensalat war so lecker, hatten wir sogar noch einen nachbestellt. Das Dressig mit Sahne wirklich toll! Wollten wir am liebsten in der Flasche mitnehmen. Die Portionen sehr großzügig!! Zum Schluss hatten wir noch einen Kaiserschnarrn… oberlecker!!! Übersichtlich gute Speisekarte - nicht zu viel - grad richtig: Pfälzische Spezialitäten und anderes - sehr sehr gute gastfreundliche Bediehnung - sehr toller Salat und variantenreiche Steaks - sehr lecker - sehr schöne Weine aus Pfalz und Portugal … und - besonders für Wanderer wichtig: DURCHGÄNGIG warme Küche (wir kamen von der Wanderung um 1600, viele Restaus wollten Reservierung für nach 1600) Wir gehen da wieder hin - Da lasse ich gerne reichlich Trinkgeld

Uriges kleines Restaurant, nette Bedienung, gute Pfälzliche Küche Super 👍🙂

Der Gastraum wirkte eher kühl, der Service war aber sehr freundlich und schnell. Vorab kam ein nicht mehr ganz so knackiger Salat, mit ihm ca. 30 Fruchtfliegen, die um den Tisch schwirren. Das Dressing war gut, hatte nur ständig Angst, eine dieser Fliegen mitzuessen. Dann kam das Metaxaschnitzel. Dieses war sicher ehemals knusprig paniert, kam im Tontopf daher und schwamm in Sahnesauce - mit Käse überbacken. Wer schnell viele Kalorien zu sich nehmen möchte, kommt hier auf seine Kosten. Die auf der Sauce schwimmenden gelben, große Fettaugen konnte ich gut mit den Pommes als Beilage aufnehmen. Geschmacklich wars in Ordnung. Toilette über den Hof fragwürdig - glücklicherweise hatte ich den Lichtschalter gefunden, sonst wärs womöglich schiefgegangen. Beide Urinale waren mit Mülltüten abgeklebt. Es gab aber noch ein WC und die Brille war auch schon oben. Also alles gut. Insgesamt frage ich mich, wie das Lokal zu dieser guten Gesamtwertung kommt. Vielleicht hatte ich nur falsch gewählt.

Auf der Durchreise haben wir hier spontan gehalten . 10/10 für die Küche und den Service. Danke, wir kommen bestimmt wieder.

Pfälzer Spezialitäten auf der Karte außen, der tolle Biergarten und die guten Rezensionen haben uns hier rein geführt. Und wir vergeben alle 5 Sterne. Unsere Pfälzer Platte mit Lewwerknepp, Saumagen, Bratwurst mit Sauerkraut war super lecker, das frisch gezapfte Weißbier dazu genial. Hier fühlt man sich willkommen. Bedienung und Wirt sind hier noch darum bemüht, dass es den Gästen schmeckt und gefällt. Hier findet noch Kommunikation mit gut gelaunten Wirt selbst statt, obwohl full house war. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder! Ich habe mein Lob auch selbst nochmals in der Küche ausgesprochen.

Kurz um, sehr netter Gastgeber. Ein Metaxa Schnitzel an sich hatte ich zwar auch noch nie. Sehr schmackhaft, jedoch der „Pfiff“ vom Metaxa fehlte etwas, jedoch keine Frage, sehr lecker. Großer Salatteller dazu und die Pommes waren gut. Die Hausgemachte Holunderlimonade, sehr gut. Hinzu kam auch, etwas verspätet dran gewesen, jedoch, alles (13 an der Zahl) kam nahezu gleichzeitig. Sehr gut! Kleiner Punkt, keine Kartenzahlung mgl?. Eeeehm? 😊 Aber gut! Nur Bares ist Wahres. 😉 Dennoch. Alles in allem, toller Service und geschmeckt hat es auch. Viele Grüße!
