Long wait times and rather mediocre food quality. Add to that a lackluster ambiance with plastic chairs without cushions or tablecloths. We won't be back.

High above Annweiler, with a fantastic view, lies the Schützenhaus on the edge of the forest. I've been here several times and have never been disappointed. Atmosphere: The interior is rustic and functional - the terrace is fantastic. Food: Solid, home-style cooking at a fair price. Service: Engaging - be sure to bring your time for Thursday's Schnitzel Day.

We arrived without a reservation and were lucky enough to still get a table. The staff was very accommodating, even letting us move the chairs so we could all sit together as a group of seven. From the very beginning, the service was outstanding — the team was extremely friendly, welcoming, and attentive. Orders were taken quickly, and the food arrived surprisingly fast considering the size of our group. The menu offers an impressive variety of schnitzel styles. Whether you prefer garlic, “Jäger” style with mushroom sauce, classic Wiener style, or something more unique like Bolognese, there’s truly something for everyone. Each schnitzel is prepared freshly and served in generous portions. An insider tip: Thursdays are Schnitzel Day, when every schnitzel is only €11.90 — an amazing deal for the quality and portion size you get. The location itself is also a highlight. There is a beautiful outdoor area perfect for relaxing, especially on warm days. Even better, there’s a pool available for guests to cool off, making it a fun and unique spot for both dining and leisure. For those looking for more activities, there’s even a shooting range on site. Overall, this place offers great food, friendly service, and a unique setting. The food was excellent...and the beer garden offered a magnificent view of Annweiler. The outdoor area had been redesigned, allowing for relaxing on the lounge chairs. The staff was very friendly.

Where should I begin? With the "service"? With the "food"? Well, we were booked with 17 people and were blinded by the reviews. The cozy atmosphere was certainly deceptive. Even though the other guests were already being served in a friendly manner, we didn't let it show and were served promptly. Any stupid comments I made were immediately countered; that's not my thing. After the drinks arrived much too quickly, the food was served. I was really looking forward to a schnitzel, which looked fantastic at the neighboring table. Unfortunately, when I asked if the rump steaks were good, the waitress replied that they were very good... I had to reschedule and accepted the challenge. With renewed determination. And what happened? First, each dish was correctly assigned, and then drinks couldn't be thrown off by intervening. Unfortunately, the pepper sauce wasn't, as I hate it, with whole peppercorns, but was really delicious: not too spicy, not too mild. The fries were also great, damn! You should try the steak yourself... No comment. My daughter (5) was pressured into eating just one liver dumpling, even though she wanted two. In the end, they only charged for one, and she couldn't finish it all. Far too big, what a cheek. After some funny banter, we were given a schnapps without being asked, but no, not in a glass; we had to open it ourselves from a can. A beehive was completely soaked with schnapps, and my chopstick was completely wet... Outrageous. The portion was far too large for the price, and the quality was inadequate. Anyone who doesn't come here or is nearby will surely be as annoyed as I was. Thank you for a great evening. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Unfortunately, it wasn't a pleasant visit. We were there with four adults and four children and politely asked if we could push two empty tables together outside – this was refused on the grounds that "other guests might arrive." So we sat separately. The children went to the higher, somewhat dated playground. The menu is clear, but not particularly suitable for vegetarians. What really irritated us: guests who arrived after us were served promptly – but we were completely ignored. After a brief discussion, we left. Our impression: Families with children are apparently not welcome here.

Beautiful restaurant, located high on a hill with a beer garden, which offers a great view of Annweiler and Trifels Castle The food was wonderful. There is also free parking and a children's playground.

The restaurant is run by two brothers who always serve us in a very nice and friendly manner. The map is small, but that's more than enough. No matter what you eat, we like it very much. Outside you have a great view over Annweiler and the Palatinate Forest. The guest room is rustically accessible via a staircase. The toilets can only be reached via stairs. A changing table is available for the little ones. We have visited a few times and will do so again.

Vegetarians only have a choice of cheese spaetzle here. It's more designed for schnitzel.

Very simple restaurant with unbeatable prices (schnitzel day). The salad buffet was really good and so were the fries. With a bit of luck you can get a panoramic spot on the terrace.

We were there unannounced on Wednesday with 7 people and a dog. Since there was also a funeral service on the same day, the outdoor area was exceptionally self-service. I immediately used it to unload a tray full of glasses and bottles halfway. Incognito and “without attracting attention” was history. Nevertheless, the innkeeper came and asked me to leave the broken pieces behind; he would clean them up with the machine. He had previously delivered a tray with the same items to the table without any accident - very, very accommodating and WITHOUT having to recalculate!!!!! So I probably won't get a job there 😁 But all the food was brought together, and for me as a vegetarian the salad is the best there is in the region. And for the fact that the innkeeper and his wife do it all alone, offer great food at fair prices, remain very friendly even when the hut is full and you have a great view over Annweiler from the terrace, here is 🙏🤗♥️⭐⭐⭐ ⭐⭐ Thank you again for treating my clumsiness so kindly

Family-run restaurant with a beautiful view of Trifels Castle. Small menu, but everything you need when taking a break is offered. You have to take a bit of time when it's busy, but the quality is good. We had liver dumplings with sauerkraut - very tasty.

Were there for the second time. Arrived at 5:05 p.m., a board said food until 5:30 p.m. We would only get drinks. The waiter's behavior was unfriendly. That's not how you treat guests.

The Schützenhaus is very well located above Annweiler and is cozy inside and out. Great view of Annweiler and Trifels Castle. The food is plenty and very tasty. The prices are normal and not excessive. Drinks maintained. The service is friendly and sometimes has a relaxed saying. In summary, highly recommended for a shooting house.

Great schnitzel, always fresh, delicious fries with really good sauce. The staff / tenants - typical Palatinate warmth and friendliness. I recommend Schnitzel Day every Thursday to get to know each other. Ambiance? Schützenhaus, what do you expect? In summer, however, the view from the large, serviced terrace is really awesome. I've been going there for years and am always happy about the delicious schnitzels and the friendliness.

This is our second time here and it was again incredibly tasty. You can hear the cook freshly pounding the meat and the service is very good. It's a shame that we live too far away to call this restaurant our home restaurant. For everyone who is nearby - come by and see for yourself.

Kommen schon seit Jahren dorthin. Essen ist sehr gut . Salate werden frisch zubereitet . Man merkt es das der Karrottensalat und Co alles selbst hergestellt wird . Fleisch ist super zart zubereitet . Preis-Leistungsverhältnis top. Die Schnitzel sind sehr lecker, die Portion groß, Salat kann man sich an einem kleinen Salatbuffet selbst holen. Es gibt mehrere verschiedenen selbstgemachte Salate zur Auswahl. Der Ausblick auf der Terasse ist wunderschön und man hat einen tollen Blick über Annweiler. Sehr zu empfehlen ist das Rahmschnitzel. Bezahlen kann man bar oder per Paypal. Kartenzahlung ist dort nicht möglich. Wir werden auf jedenfall wieder kommen

38 Senioren*in von Walsheim/Knöringen im Lösch-Reise-Bus im Schützenhaus angekommen. Auf Speiseplan stand heute: "Schnitzeltag" Um 19:30 h konnte man die Heimreise antreten. Jeder war sehr zufrieden, alles passte, Getränke und gutes Essen, kann muss man weiterempfehlen

Wer pfälzische Küche liebt, ist hier im Schützenhaus Annweiler genau richtig. Ganz klarer Schwerpunkt: Frische Schnitzel in allen Varianten: Wiener Art, Jäger, Bolognese, Paprika, Rahm, etc. Und dazu knusprige Pommes und einen frischen Beilagen-Salat vom Buffet. Das alles zu einem guten Kurs. Eine ehrliche, gutbürgerliche Küche in Vereinslokal-Atmosphäre mit fantastischem Ausblick auf den Trifels. Ein echter Geheimtipp!

Waren schon lange nicht mehr da oben ☝️ corona und so. Aber ist alles noch beim alten einfach lecker. Service hat nur 3 Sterne 🌟 bekommen nicht weil er nicht gut ist und freundlich im Gegenteil, aber die Wartezeit ist halt etwas länger gerade wenn man noch was zu trinken möchte.

Pfefferrahmschnitzel hat sehr gut geschmeckt. Man wird sehr freundlich bedient. Dazu kommt noch der Top Ausblick auf Annweiler und Umgebung.

Vom Biergarten aus hat man eine sehr schöne Aussicht. Kuchen ist sehr lecker und selbstverständlich selbstgemacht.

Zum wiederholten Male kommt man da hin und alle Tische sind reserviert, war sicher das letzte Mal das wir da waren.

Leider ist die Auswahl, an vegetarischen Gerichten, sehr gering, ist in der heutigen Zeit, nicht mehr Zeitgemäß.

Wir waren am Schnitzeltag dort (wussten wir vorher nicht). Große Auswahl an verschiedenen Schnitzelvarianten zu volkstümlichen Preisen. Das Knobischnitzel mit Pommes und Salat war super lecker. Die Optik des Tellers hätte Mann vielleicht mit einer Scheibe Tomate und etwas Grünzeug aufwerten können. Die Aussicht über Annweiler war hervorragend. Wir kommen gerne wieder..

Bei allem Verständnis für Ausflugsgaststätten Waren heute Mittag zum Essen im Schützenhaus Schnitzel 14,90€ auf Gaststättennivau wäre ok wenn die Qualität passt Schnitzel Panade aufgeweicht Salat Karotte aus dem Glas Blattsalat sandig aber ohne frische Kräuter und ohne Geschmack Waren sehr enttäuscht Schöner Ausblick aber für uns keine Option mehr

Wir waren gestern zum ersten Mal dort und es wurde uns nicht zuviel versprochen. Die Aussicht vom Biergarten ist wirklich herrlich und das Essen war auch klasse. Besonders hervorheben möchte ich das Pfefferrahmschnitzel, die Soße ist echt super! Gerne kommen wir wieder, die 60km von Karlsruhe sind es allemal wert.

Das Essen konnte ich leider nicht genießen somit auch nicht Bewerten. Ist aber bestimmt gut laut Bewertungen. Wir waren leider zu 5 und durften uns nicht an einen 4er Tisch sitzen und vom Nachbar Tisch uns einen Stuhl dazu stellen. Die Tische mit mehr Plätzen waren leider schon reserviert oder besetzt. Also bitte nur als 4er Gruppe dort essen gehen. Der Gute Mann der die Gäste Bewirtet hat schien mir auch restlos überfordert also 4 Tische leer aber wir durften nicht essen. Naja In der Gaststätte Trifelsblick hat man sich über unseren Besuch zu 5 gefreut. Schönen Vatertag noch!

Wir waren heute Schnitzelessen, Preis-Leistung absolut Ok👍! Da wird man satt und es schmeckt. Ein gutes Zeichen für uns ist, wenn man aus der Küche das Klopfen der Schnitzel hört. Pommes ganz frisch 😋 Die Terrasse bietet einen tollen Blick auf Annweiler, die Trifels, den Rehbergturm und die Asselsteine. Eine Idee für für die Zukunft an den oder die Betreiber: pflanzen Sie auf der Terrasse ein paar Kastanienbäume, unsere Kinder und Enkel werden dankbar sein☺️

Wir waren am Wochenende zum Mittagessen im Schützenhaus. Das Jägerschnitzel war sehr lecker; die Pommes ganz frisch. Auch der Beilagensalat war sehr gut. Preis- Leistung stimmt hier! (13,60€ für Schnitzel, Pommes und Salat) Innen ist es an sich sehr gemütlich aber ich fand es etwas dunkel. Draußen ist es bei schönem Wetter echt super, gerade die Aussicht ist top! Service schnell und freundlich.

Wir waren an einem schönen sommertag mit dem Fahrrad dort, steile Anfahrt, aber mit dem E-Bike geht es, wussten wir ja vorher- die Gaststätte schließt um 18 Uhr, wir waren um 17 Uhr dort und wollten nur was trinken, der Wirt war sehr unfreundlich, wie wir eine Stunde vor Feierabend noch kommen können... Hat uns dann aber brummelnd doch was zu trinken gebracht und erzählt, wie schön es doch während Corona war, als geschlossen war! Sehr ungepflegte und verwilderte und verwahrloste Außenanlage

War Anfang Dezember auf dem Weg von Saarbrücken nach Hause auf die Schwäbische Alb. Es war zufällig Schnitzeltag, was soll ich sagen. Einfach super, das Essen, die Wirtsleute, die Gäste, die Lage sowieso, einzigartig! Sowas findet man leider immer weniger! Werde ab jetzt jedes Jahr, wenn ich die Strecke fahre, dort einkehren! Sowas lasse ich mir nicht entgehen! Macht weiter so!

Tolle Lage, perfekter Ausblick. Das Essen....da gibt es nur ein Wort...WOW...Das Steak perfekt auf dem Punkt, man schmeckt das Fleisch und ist in bester Qualität. Die Pfeffersoße hervorragend abgestimmt und unterstreicht das Fleisch. Der Salat war frisch angemacht mit selbstgemachten Dressing und war auch nicht übergossen mit zu viel Dressing. Nette Familie mit dem Herz am rechten Fleck. Jederzeit kommen wir wieder und ich freue mich auch mehr, mehr leckeres Essen, schließlich muss ich die Schnitzelvarianten noch probieren. Was einige schreiben wegen dem Ambiente...klar kann man was machen, das können auch viele andere Restaurants. Ich will gutes Essen essen und nicht mich am Ambiente sattsehen.

Fantastisch, es war das beste Schnitzel, was ich je gegessen habe. Es war einfach nur unglaublich, die Aussicht und die Bedienung, vom Pool ganz zu schweigen. Ausgefallene Getränke und die Lage ist einfach nur Unglaublich, man muss selbst hier gewesen sein, um das erlebt zu haben. Von dem ganz zu schweigen nach ganz nach dem Motto-lieber das Knoblauchschnitzel im Magen, als die Frau in deinen Armen- Top Lokal!

Heute das letzte mal hier gewesen. Wurde wie man so schön sagt ,, verarscht,, habe Musik kostenlos angeboten . Ich spiele umsonst. Wenn der Pächter mich nicht will ist das für mich ok, hätte er sagen können .Habe sehr viele Auftritte. Hab heute den Bruder nochmal gefragt , am Nebentisch hörte ich ,daß am Samstag um 19 Uhr Musik wäre. Der Bruder sagte dann zu mir, nää, mir dürfen keine Musik hier machen.??? Warum verarschen. Wir kommen nicht mehr. Man hätte ehrlich sein können. Wir kennen uns schon ein paar Jahre.
