Gaststätte K1 in Annweiler am Trifels

Tastes are known to vary, so I should mention upfront that my husband found the food perfectly fine. Hence the three stars instead of two. Unfortunately, our visit to the restaurant was a complete disappointment for me. When I order schnitzel with cream sauce and fresh mushrooms, I expect a breaded schnitzel and some visible, fresh mushrooms. Instead, I received two small pork steaks with a cream sauce that tasted like it came from a store-bought container. The spaetzle were completely tasteless. We quickly learned from other guests that some items on the menu weren't even available. When the next table paid, we were asked if we wanted to pay as well. My husband still had half a beer in front of him, and I had just put my cutlery on my plate. At that point, the restaurant wasn't even half full, so there was no real rush to clear the table for new guests. We were only passing through anyway, so a second chance isn't logistically feasible.

I was there today with my family and I was very impressed with the store; everything tasted great, I'd love to come back.

We were at the Golden Lion Restaurant today and were unfortunately very disappointed overall. Most of the food seemed like ready-made meals – you could definitely taste it. The pork stomach was delicious, but the sauerkraut tasted like it came from a jar, the mustard came from a small bag, and the bread wasn't fresh restaurant bread, but rather resembled pre-packaged supermarket bread. The steak was tough, cooked all the way through, and tasted like a cheap ready-made marinade from the supermarket – the red marinade even came through the Burgundy sauce. The sauce itself was also extremely salty. Some of the fries were undercooked and also very salty. Unfortunately, the prices were significantly too high for this quality – the value for money is completely out of this world. It's a shame, we were looking forward to a good meal, but we probably won't be coming back.

We had a fantastic time at Umoya. The food was great, the service very friendly and accommodating. Additionally we enjoyed the open and friendly atmosphere + the cosy fire. Recommend!
