Gaststätte K1 in Annweiler am Trifels

We're here every now and then. The service varies, the owner is extremely friendly, and the food is delicious.

It was CHOPS / CHESTNUT VEGETABLES / RED CABBAGE DAY. [Fri. 03.10.2025] Everything was perfect and exceptionally delicious. The ingredients were fresh and home-cooked (NO pre-packaged convenience foods!) The service was always there and politely asked frequently if anyone wanted anything else. = NOT pushy, though! The entire restaurant could be a little more hygienic, though. But NOT! The disgusting factor! We'd love to go back soon. LET US KNOW, WE'RE COMPLETELY SATISFIED AND WOULD HAPPILY RECOMMEND IT! AWESOME!

We were at the Golden Lion Restaurant today and were unfortunately very disappointed overall. Most of the food seemed like ready-made meals – you could definitely taste it. The pork stomach was delicious, but the sauerkraut tasted like it came from a jar, the mustard came from a small bag, and the bread wasn't fresh restaurant bread, but rather resembled pre-packaged supermarket bread. The steak was tough, cooked all the way through, and tasted like a cheap ready-made marinade from the supermarket – the red marinade even came through the Burgundy sauce. The sauce itself was also extremely salty. Some of the fries were undercooked and also very salty. Unfortunately, the prices were significantly too high for this quality – the value for money is completely out of this world. It's a shame, we were looking forward to a good meal, but we probably won't be coming back.

We were all very impressed with the delicious food and the very friendly owner who served us. We'd love to come back and have already recommended it to others.
