Das Essen war ein Traum - Steak genau so, wie ich es haben wollte, selten bessere Qualität gesehen. Für jeden Steakliebhaber ein absolutes Muss in München.

Das Essen war top. Trüffelpasta 10/10 und auch das Steak und die Beilagen super! Netter und aufmerksamer Service. Wir kommen bestimmt noch ein 2. Mal :)

Richtig gutes Essen, super Service und eine entspannte Atmosphäre. Besonders cool fand ich, dass es auch für Vegetarier eine echt große Auswahl gibt – das ist in einem Steakhouse definitiv nicht selbstverständlich. Komme gerne wieder! ☺️😍

Im Zum Goldenen Kalb hatten wir einen rundum gelungenen Abend. Das Essen war hervorragend – besonders die Steaks waren perfekt zubereitet und von bester Qualität. Dazu kam ein äußerst aufmerksamer und freundlicher Service, bei dem man sich sofort wohlgefühlt hat. Klare Empfehlung für alle, die gutes Fleisch und eine tolle Atmosphäre in München genießen möchten!

Auch wenn wir nicht mehr in München wohnen zieht es uns bei fast jedem Besuch ins Goldene Kalb. Wir lieben die Auswahl an Steaks und der Service ist immer sehr zuvorkommend.

Ein Besuch im Goldenen Kalb ist für Fleischfans wirklich ein Muss. Die Auswahl an verschiedenen Cuts ist absolut beeindruckend und die Qualität spricht für sich. Wir hatten ein geniales Stück am Knochen, das perfekt zubereitet und extrem geschmacksintensiv war. Tolle Atmosphäre, cooler Service und einfach ein rundum gelungener Abend. Ich freue mich schon aufs nächste Mal!

Sehr schönes Lokal mitten in München! Wir waren hier zu meinem Geburtstag essen und hatten einen wunderschönen Abend mit leckerem Essen und tollen Drinks! Immer wieder gerne!

Das Essen war sehr lecker. Die Location ist sehr schön, man kann hier sehr gut mit größeren Gruppen verbleiben. Der Service war sehr aufmerksam.

Wir waren endlich im Steakhouse – und was soll ich sagen: Wir waren wirklich rundum begeistert! 😄 Das Fleisch war einfach hervorragend – perfekt auf den Punkt gegart, unglaublich zart und voller Geschmack. Man merkt sofort, dass hier auf Qualität großen Wert gelegt wird. Auch der Service war absolut top: freundlich, aufmerksam und gleichzeitig angenehm unaufdringlich. Wir haben uns die ganze Zeit über sehr gut aufgehoben gefühlt. Das Ambiente hat den Abend perfekt abgerundet und sorgt dafür, dass man gerne länger sitzen bleibt. Alles in allem ein super Erlebnis – wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder und können das Steakhouse nur wärmstens weiterempfehlen!

Wir haben an einem Samstag noch ganz spontan einen Tisch bekommen. Sehr schönes Lokal, tolle Atmosphäre und sehr aufmerksames Personal. Der Cheeseburger ist eine absolute Empfehlung!

Sehr lecker, das Steak war perfekt gebraten... roh, aber heiß. Der Service war etwas langsam, aber ich war zufrieden.

Wir waren mit 9 Personen im Restaurant. Die Speisekarten haben wir vorab bereits ein bisschen studiert. Die Preise sind eher am oberen Limit, dies weckt hohe Erwartungen, welche nicht ganz erfüllt werden konnten. Das Restaurant ist schön eingerichtet und war sehr gut gebucht. Dies hatte natürlich einen Einfluss auf den Lärmpegel, welcher wirklich sehr hoch war. Teilweise konnte man sich fast nicht mehr unterhalten. Evtl. könnte man bauliche schalldämpfende Massnahmen zu prüfen (z.B. an der Decke) dem Lärm entgegenzutreten. Dies ist jedoch ein Detail, welches ich aber erwähnen möchte. Was ich vorausschicken möchte ist, dass der ganze Staff wirklich sehr freundlich, aufmerksam und zuvorkommend war. Und dies über den ganzen Abend (wir waren ca. 4 Stunden da) über. Die Apero Runden wurde rasch serviert, danach die Bestellungen, Vor- und Hauptspeise zusammen, aufgenommen. Wir haben verschiedene Vorspeisen bestellt, u.a. das Julius Brandner Sauerteigbrot mit einem sehr feinen Aufstrich, mehrere Tartar vom Weiderind und mehrere Tagessuppen (Spargel-Zucchini). Alle Gerichte wurden schön angerichtet und zeitgleich serviert. Was uns ein bisschen irritierte, dass es kein Brot (normalerweise Toastbrot) zum Tartar serviert wurde. Dies war das erste Mal, dass ich ein Tartar ohne jegliche Beilage erhalten habe. Ausserdem hätte ich das Tartar ein bisschen kräftiger erwartet. Von den Anchovis habe ich geschmacklich nichts gespürt. Ansonsten waren alle Vorspeisen geschmacklich sehr gut. Als Hauptspeise haben wir alles Klassiker bestellt. Meine unmittelbare Tischnachbarin den Cheeseburger, ich das Prime Filet Steak. Als Beilage Pommes und die Pfeffersauce. Mit 200 Gramm ist da Filetsteak schon sehr knapp bemessen. Quasi ein Lady Cut. Ich habe das Filet Medium-Rare bestellt. Dies wurde auch so zubereitet, der Garpunkt sehr gut getroffen. Was ich, und das finde ich wichtig, extrem schade gefunden habe, ist die Reihenfolge in welcher die Speisen serviert worden sind. Und zwar das Fleisch zuerst. Speziellerweise auf einem riesigen Teller, auf welchem das Fleisch noch kleiner aussah, als es in Wirklichkeit war. Dann ging es doch ca. 2-3 Minuten bis die Beilagen und Saucen serviert worden sind, und in dieser Zeit kühlte das Fleisch natürlich recht ab, auch weil die Teller nicht heiss sind. Es wäre sehr begrüssenswert, wenn die Beilagen und Saucen zuerst serviert würden (weil diese auch heiss sind) und danach das Fleisch. Geschmacklich war das Fleisch sehr gut und von guter Qualität. Die Pommes fein und frisch, und somit auch heiss, und die Pfeffersauce war sehr gut und kräftig. Der Cheeseburger war geschmacklich sehr gut. Die Portionengrösse in Ordnung. Nachspeisen haben wir keine bestellt, sondern lediglich noch ein paar Schnäpse, welche sehr fein waren. Angesicht, dass wir pro Person um die EUR 100.00 bezahlt haben, wohlgemerkt ohne Wein, stimmt für mich das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis leider nicht.

Hervorragende Fleischqualität und Zubereitung! Man wird zum Fleischschrank geführt und ausführlich beraten, welche Sorte am besten zum eigenen Geschmack passt.

Meiner Meinung nach und der Meinung meiner Familie waren die bestellten Steaks wirklich schlecht. Wir sind eine vierköpfige Familie und reisen ständig um die Welt. Wir essen sehr gerne Fleisch und kennen uns daher in Steakhäusern aus. Wir bestellten alle ein Filetstück. Wir ließen alle fast alles auf dem Teller liegen (was für uns ungewöhnlich ist).

Wir haben am Freitag Abend spontan für 2 reserviert. Atmosphäre draußen und drinnen angenehm, etwas lauter aber auch entsprechend für einen Freitag. Wir hatten als Vorspeise die gegrillten Austern. Lecker, und danach kam war gut, auch wenn mein Filet nicht wirklich medium rare sondern medium war und lieblos serviert wurde (Auf Ansprache wurde mir ein neues Filet Steak angeboten, allerdings hatten wir keine Zeit mehr). Wir haben tatsächlich 1 Stunde auf die Hauptspeise warten müssen, nachdem uns die Austern serviert und abgeräumt wurden. Viel zu lange, ohne ein Kommentar unserer Bedienung. Sie war leicht überfordert an dem Abend aber nett. Meine Begleitung hatte den Hummerschwanz und als Beilagen hatten wir den wilden Brokkoli, Trüffelkartoffel und Salat. Alles hat wie gesagt gut geschmeckt. Allerdings muss ich Abstriche im Service machen, da die Wartezeit deutlich zu lange ist. Für mich eher ein einmaliges Erlebnis auch wegen Preis/Leistung. Zu viele Kompromisse.

Ich glaub, ich bin zu alt für solche Läden. Recht junges Publikum, teilweise nur am Handy ingange, laut, laut und nochmals laut. Wir haben Burger mit Trüffelpommes gehabt, war anständig, aber nicht der Burner...Wir sind ganz bestimmt nicht geizig, geben auch gutes Geld für ein Essen aus, aber hier stimmt aus meiner Sicht das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis nicht wirklich.

Ich bin seit Jahren Stammgast – und das sagt alles. Die Fleischqualität ist außergewöhnlich, der Service aufmerksam und herzlich, die Atmosphäre hochwertig ohne je steif zu wirken. Wir hatten einen rundum großartigen Abend. Das Steakhouse gehört definitiv zur gehobenen Klasse – sowohl qualitativ als auch im Service. Ich hatte das Filet, mein Partner das Rib-Eye-Steak. Beide Steaks waren absolut perfekt auf den Punkt gegart, wunderbar zart und geschmacklich herausragend. Genau so, wie man es sich in einem wirklich guten Steakhouse wünscht. Besonders hervorheben möchte ich auch den Service: Die Weinempfehlung war hervorragend und hat perfekt zu unseren Gerichten gepasst. Ein absolutes Highlight für Steakliebhaber! Vom ersten Moment an fühlt man sich willkommen stilvolles Ambiente, angenehme Atmosphäre und ein sehr aufmerksamer, professioneller Service. Das Fleisch war von herausragender Qualität und perfekt auf den Punkt gegart. Besonders beeindruckt hat mich der intensive Geschmack und die Zartheit des Steaks man merkt sofort, dass hier großer Wert auf Herkunft und Reifung gelegt wird. Aus meiner Sicht haben Preis-Leistung nicht zusammengepasst. Den Service empfand ich als nicht dem Preisniveau angemessen.

Ich hatte einen wirklich großartigen Besuch im Zum Goldenen Kalb. Besonders hervorheben möchte ich die Duroc-Ribs – das waren mit Abstand die besten Ribs, die ich jemals gegessen habe. Geschmacklich absolut hervorragend, perfekt zubereitet und einfach ein echtes Highlight. Außerdem war der gesamte Laden super sauber und sehr gepflegt, was direkt einen positiven Eindruck gemacht hat. Der Service war ebenfalls top: sehr nett, aufmerksam und jederzeit hilfsbereit. Man hat sich sofort wohl und willkommen gefühlt. Insgesamt eine rundum tolle Erfahrung – ich komme auf jeden Fall sehr gerne wieder und kann das Zum Goldenen Kalb nur weiterempfehlen.

Wir waren an Fasching hier. Daher gab es nur eine reduzierte Karte. Die Auswahl könnte daher an diesem einen Event-Tag ein wenig größer sein. Aber die Pommes waren sehr lecker! Die Musik war super, die Stimmung gut und das Personal sehr freundlich und professionell. Gerne wieder!

Wir haben sehr kurzfristig reserviert dennoch hat man uns einen Tisch gegeben und war super freundlich zu uns . Das Essen war eine reine Meisterleistung und das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist nicht nur spitzenmäßig sondern war schon fast zu wenig in meinen Augen für diesen Service.

Unfortunately, everything felt a bit uninspired. The meat was excellent quality and cooked perfectly. The side dishes were rather disappointing. We decided against dessert; the crème brûlée at the next table looked gray.

The restaurant is known for its first-class steaks – unfortunately, we couldn't confirm this! The starters, beef tartare and salmon tartare, were excellent. However, our Black Angus Porterhouse Steak (800g) was disappointing: ordered medium rare, served with a gray edge, and overall overcooked! The situation at the neighboring table was similar! With a 1.5-hour wait between the starter and the main course, it would have been possible to prepare it perfectly. As a trained chef, I see that the grill temperature and resting time were not observed – the necessary expertise was lacking. The price-performance ratio was not right! On the plus side, our waiter's excellent service was outstanding. Anyone who values ​​genuine steak quality will be disappointed here. Another visit is out of the question for us!

Our first visit, and we were not disappointed. Besides the outstanding service (thanks, Michi), top-notch food, and a very good wine list, what was impressive was that there's nothing fancy about this place. Simply a great, high-quality restaurant that doesn't feel pretentious, and everyone can be themselves.

Top quality and excellent taste! Highly recommended. From appetizer to dessert, an absolute delight. The ambiance is also very good and will surely improve even further soon once the acoustics inside the restaurant have been improved a bit. Also in summer, with the surrounding terrace and the location at the Viktualienmarkt, absolutely recommended!

Great atmosphere and service. The meat quality was very good (dry-aged Black Angus). Unfortunately, everything was too cold; it had probably been ready to be served for a while. We didn't complain right away, though we should have. We were hungrier, though, and the food was very tasty. The service was above average and friendly.

To be honest, we weren't entirely impressed. The service was okay, but I've experienced better at that level. The ribeye was too thin for the price and lacked any real roasted flavor. I think you should expect more. The rest of the food was good. Otherwise, we found it quite loud, but that's purely a personal experience.

Unfortunately, the restaurant didn't meet my expectations at all. The meat tasted okay but largely bland, the atmosphere was extremely loud with very close seating, and the service staff was rather unfriendly. Considering the price, it was thoroughly disappointing.

My husband loves the meat there and said it was the best he's ever had. Unfortunately, my cheeseburger was very flavorless. The meat on it was very, very good, but it lacked sauce and was very poorly presented. Outrageous prices for water!! In general, the prices are quite high, even for a "small" piece of meat.

The food was excellent, from oysters to the finest meat from the aging cabinet. Certainly not cheap; €300 per steak is a reasonable price to pay, and you can argue about the value for money, but everything is fresh and delicious. €1,500 for 4 people, 4 starters, 4 meats, 4 bottles of wine, and 4 desserts. What unfortunately really leaves a lot to be desired is the service. Unfriendly service; we had to constantly ask for other waiters because our waitress didn't come out to see us regularly, despite the low customer demand. She reached her peak when she refused to take back a wine we tried and deemed bad because it "was ordered so confidently." Aha. Why anyone should even try it is questionable; this kind of behavior/service is unfortunately not what you expect in such an expensive restaurant. (And no, it wasn't the most expensive wine on the menu, costing several thousand euros; we might have understood that then.) Two stars because a later wine recommendation hit the mark. But that's the end of it, since the conditions were still unfriendly even when paying, it still generated a relatively good return. It's a shame, unfortunately, and it really raises the question of whether you'd really want to come back again.

Very unique selections. Steak was tasty but very simple. Had a lot of grissle for a very expensive steak which we addressed but was not really recognized by the waiter. Otherwise very pleasant experience.

I think the "golden days" of the "Golden Calf" are definitely over. On a Saturday evening when the city was very busy, 5 tables were occupied. That was the first thing that struck me as odd. I've known the restaurant for years, and back then, it was almost impossible to get a seat on the weekends. Oh well. For a special occasion, I thought we'd go for some really good meat. We're in the upper price range here, okay. However, at these prices, you can expect a certain level of service, which isn't as present here as it should be. 3 waiters, so little activity, and so little attention. A bottle of water for over 8 euros, which wasn't refilled ONCE - an absolute no-go! Three tables were set outside, but we went inside later because of the weather. It was getting windy, and pollen and tree leaves were lying on the tables in abundance—of course, they also ended up in our food, including our appetizer. No one offered to move us inside. We were "allowed" to go inside, but we had to carry our own things. The waitress asked if we could handle the menu (because we could order meat, since you can choose from the refrigerator). I said "No," and she turned around and left. I think they don't have any trained staff there anymore. The "head waiter," who had the most planning that evening, then accompanied us to the refrigerator, the "aging cabinet," to choose the meat. I don't like fat, so he recommended a fillet. He wanted to have 200 grams of it prepared for me and said it was a good choice because it was super tender... After almost 45 minutes of waiting, the three steaks arrived. I found it quite unloving to put three such expensive pieces of meat on a huge plate with nothing on it, and there they were. A few minutes later, the side dishes arrived. At first, I thought my knife wasn't cutting, but that turned out to be wrong—it was actually the meat! I've NEVER had such a tough fillet that you couldn't cut or chew properly! I was shocked. The waiter was friendly and cleared the piece, and I ordered the fillet from the menu—which was also good. Unfortunately, the evening was over for me. I had to wait again; my two companions had completely finished eating by the time my new steak arrived. The waiter meant well, but even the free dessert couldn't make up for it. My conclusion: The price-performance ratio here is absolutely out of sync, sorry guys! If you want to eat good meat and have top-notch service, head to Little London!

Best Steak Tartare I have ever had! Went with a party of 4 and everyone said it became their favorite restaurant in Munich. The staff is incredible and the food outstanding! Highly recommend!

I was there on May 29, 2025, and I can only give it one star. The mushrooms had no flavor, the mashed potatoes were very dry, and the fries were very hard. The steak was good quality, but it was served cold. I'm very disappointed.

Tourist trap…ridiculously priced menu for underwhelming food and mediocre experience. Eataly was closed, so settled on this because of available tables and was hungry. €57 for a 200g overcooked and under seasoned ribeye, small cup of mashed potatoes like it was sitting under a heat lamp, and a salad that was clearly on the verge of going rotten. Throw in two glasses of mediocre red wine…€100…for one person. Ridiculous. The only upside was the service was prompt and pleasant enough. But save your money and do this meal at home for a 1/5 of the price. You’ll be way happier with the experience..

We came with high expectations and were unfortunately a bit disappointed, especially with the service. The meat was very good, the side dishes were average and the service was unfortunately non-existent. Too bad!

I used to love this place, but the quality of the food has decreased tremendously in the past years. I was so blown away the first time I visited (2020). Not sure if they changed the chef or simply changed the meat quality, but it is not as few years back :(

The service was top right from the start: Our waiter was not only extremely friendly, but also really relaxed and personable - you immediately felt at home. We were particularly impressed by the detailed advice on choosing meat. We got really good recommendations and a lot of information, which made the decision much easier. The food itself? Simply first class! Every bite was a hit - everything was seasoned perfectly - the meat and side dishes were also prepared to perfection. You can tell that quality counts here – in every respect. It was absolutely worth it. Every cent was well invested and we will definitely be back!

Starter was super tasty, service was very friendly and accommodating. And I swear the steak is a dream, it just melts in your mouth. Mashed potatoes with truffles are simply fantastic

On April 11th We (five of us) were there for the first time to see for ourselves the quality of the steaks and had a very nice evening. Since we took our seats around 5:30 p.m., we were able to enjoy the initially very quiet atmosphere. Around 7 p.m. it got busier and of course a bit loud and hectic. Unfortunately, as the number of guests increased, the service was also under strain and the drinks took longer to arrive. The quality of the food and especially the meat was exceptional. Preparation, cooking level and taste couldn't have been better. As a side dish I ordered truffle fries, which, although not described, were served gratinated with parmesan. My request for cheeseless fries was immediately granted and I was able to enjoy my ribeye from the Old Cow with a side dish. A special thank you goes to the service. Even if the price level is set high, the Wagyu beef is offered at very fair prices.

Food was cold and the spare ribs were very burnt. Service didn’t even ask how the food was… Honestly wouldn’t go there again…

Very tasty, high-quality food for a well-stocked wallet. Price-performance can be discussed here. If you don't have to keep an eye on your change, this is the place for you and you'll get your money's worth when it comes to quality and taste. However, there are alternatives in Munich that are either more expensive and better, the same price and better or even cheaper and better.

Nice restaurant, good food. Not spectacular though. The Brussels sprouts side dish with the veal cheeks consisted of about 3 quartered florets. I would have avoided the gold dust on the sauce and used a few more vegetables. My companion's steak had very good meat quality. Overall quite expensive compared to other steakhouses of a similar level. Good location if you are traveling by public transport.

The restaurant "Zum Goldenen Kalb" was recommended to us by good friends, and we were thrilled. From the very beginning, we received a friendly welcome and excellent service. We received particularly competent advice on our steak selection and a perfect wine pairing. Even though the restaurant was full, we were never forgotten, and our ordered dishes arrived promptly. Both the steaks and the selected side dishes were a delight. It was an absolutely successful evening from start to finish. We highly recommend this restaurant and are already looking forward to our next visit.

We are simply thrilled with our visit. The reception and service is excellent. The staff were very friendly and extremely attentive. The food, whether starter, side dishes or main course, was excellent. What should be emphasized is that the steak was on point. The atmosphere is also super pleasant and very warm. All in all, the visit to the golden calf was simply great and definitely won't be the last.

Updated with major improvements since last visit: Steaks are really good here. Be prepared to share at your table because most cuts are too big to eat alone and it is encouraged to share. Service for our group of 10 was speedy and we had to wait a long time to even order wine. Atmosphere is more on the cosy side than fancy, which is nice for a casual evening.

It was beautiful. Meat was very expensive, we had to eat pasta and pork, the truffle mushroom pasta was not bad, we did not love it, the pork was delicious, we paid the bill to the restaurant, I hope we will pay the other bill as well.. dry aged meats were in the range of 100 euros to 160 euros for 600-800 grams. It was too much for me, but if it's not for you, you can eat it, they looked beautiful.

The food tastes really good, but the service today was very disappointing. This is our second visit to this restaurant and this time the service was unfortunately completely lacking. First of all, we had to wait half an hour for our main course after the starter. Despite speaking to us several times, our waiter didn't come to our table. It even got to the point where we had to call another waiter to pay and forgo dessert and coffee. Our original waiter stopped coming to see us. We left the restaurant without being said goodbye. It's really a shame to experience such poor service in such a price range. It should also be noted that a table that arrived after us was served much faster and more politely.

We were here recently and absolutely loved it. The service was excellent: attentive, friendly and professional. We tried the starters and also the (vegetarian) main courses. For a steakhouse, it offers a surprisingly wide selection of vegetarian dishes that are creative, fresh and really tasty. The spareribs were also first class. An all-round great experience that we will definitely repeat. Highly recommended!

Exceptionally good meat from the display case, side dishes were poor and too expensive, service wasn't great, we had to make ourselves known several times.

I had a fantastic experience here! From the warm welcome to the last bite, everything was perfect. The steak was cooked to perfection, tender and full of flavor. The side dishes were fresh and harmonious. The service was also first class. The staff was attentive and friendly. The atmosphere of the restaurant is inviting and makes eating a special experience. I can only warmly recommend this shop and give it a full 5 stars!

I think the price/performance ratio is acceptable for Munich, the staff tried very hard, the food was also good... the cooking level was top... but it was nowhere near the 250 grams as ordered... it didn't even come close... as a catering company, I know what 250 g is as a steak... sorry There was a problem, otherwise it was ok...
