We ordered the buffet. There was a huge selection, from appetizers to dessert.

Unfortunately, there isn't much food selection for my taste, both at the buffet and for dessert. The new "all you can drink" option is good, with wine, branded soda, coffee, etc. It's a shame that the drinks are rarely refilled during the week. What bothered me personally was the sticky floor. The staff are very friendly and child-friendly. See pictures for the new prices.

The all-you-can-eat restaurant Zum Goldenen Frosch in Queiheim near Landau in der Pfalz is a lovely restaurant which offers a large buffet and a very pleasant atmosphere. If you want to eat there but don't feel like a buffet, that's not a problem at all as there is also an a la carte menu. The service here is super friendly, polite, helpful with questions and also on the ball. Once again, the food tasted great. The price per person for the buffet is okay as you don't usually do this very often. Every time we eat there, it's great and worth the money. I can only recommend this restaurant; I give it 5 out of 5 stars, and it deserves it.

A buffet for 23 euros, all you can eat! The most authentic Chinese food I've ever had in a seven-country European trip! I didn't even try the desserts, dim sum, or sushi. I enjoyed the chili beef, stir-fried potatoes, braised fish, and fried rice... I was so full of energy I felt like I could travel another 20 days! The owner was so friendly and told me there were also stir-fries, but unfortunately, I couldn't finish them all!

Unfortunately, it's not what it used to be. The service has deteriorated dramatically. The food isn't as tasty anymore, and it feels like it takes 20-30 minutes to refill. It's a shame, we always enjoyed going there.

Phew, we ate a buffet there today, €93 for two children (7 and 8) and two adults. It was probably our last visit there. Drinks: two small soft drinks and two large ones. The food was okay, but for almost €100, we won't be able to afford it again.

Very delicious food, the sushi was excellent, the dishes were warm, and the duck was very tender. The sauces you can choose to accompany the grilled food are very delicate, and the grilled food isn't overpowered. The staff was always attentive and friendly. After the change of ownership, the entire staff was replaced, including the chef. Unfortunately, the food doesn't taste that good anymore. The doors are now open all day, and there are flies everywhere at the buffet. It's a real shame... I won't be going there anymore.

I celebrated my birthday at lunchtime in late August 2025 with 19 people. We were there from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and were able to help ourselves to the extensive buffet. Everyone was thrilled and very satisfied with the food on offer. There was plenty of everything and it was constantly refilled. The price was reasonable. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the outdoor terrace. It was dirty and uninviting. Trash cans right at the entrance. Paper and cigarette butts were scattered on the floor. It was very poorly maintained compared to the interior.

Not suitable for vegetarians. Aside from salad, there were only a handful of options, almost all of it very greasy, "simple" food that you'd get better at any Asian snack bar. Half-empty plates, sushi wasn't refilled the entire evening. Sushi wasn't labeled, so I couldn't eat any of it, and there was no way to tell if it was vegetarian or not. The desserts were bad; I can't say otherwise. The cakes were dry and, in my opinion, bad, and the ice cream scoops were stuck in a bowl of water so you couldn't see the bottom. Most of the staff wore worn-out clothes, and the bartender was biting her fingernails. I won't be visiting this restaurant again.

The waitress walks past you several times, even though your drinks are empty and there are several empty plates on the table. You also have to wait 30 minutes before you can finally pay. The food is only refilled in small amounts. The food tastes okay.

Das Abendbuffet war sehr gut und wurde immer wieder frisch aufgefüllt. Anscheinend hat das Restaurant seit 2 Monaten einen neuen Besitzer. Seitdem ist auch der Kaffee in den verschiedensten Variationen beim Büffet inklusiv. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Auch die Zubereitung am Grill war klasse.

A great amount of food, friendly & efficient service, and a good price. And most importantly, you get full!!! UPDATE: New owner. Small changes, but the same quality! I think it's great that they now have a fully automatic coffee machine. Thumbs up ;)

Was a little disappointed this time. Had booked a buffet. Unfortunately the staff couldn't keep up with refilling the dishes. You had to wait a long time until it was refilled. And then it was enough for at most 3 to 4 people. That's why only 2 stars for service.

We arrived relatively late, so not everything was available, as you would expect when the buffet is full at 5 p.m., but the boss came to us immediately and had us prepare everything we wanted. Great service! The drinks also came immediately. The food was delicious and had the same selection as you would expect from a Chinese buffet. We were the last ones to leave the restaurant today and were given a whole bottle of plum wine to take home as a farewell 😅 We thought it was really nice 😊 So gladly again 😊

We're a little conflicted here. We still enjoy the food here and will come back here whenever we are in Landau. However, things are now getting a bit tight financially and the current price of €15.90 for the lunch buffet during the week is, in our opinion, high. Yes, you can have individually prepared ingredients freshly prepared (which is actually only standard for such buffets in the evenings and on weekends), but it also has to fit into your budget. Foregoing this and then spending $2-$3 less would suit us personally and would also be an advantage for the restaurateur, as it lowers the inhibition threshold and could perhaps reach a few more guests. As in many other restaurants, the selection here has unfortunately suffered greatly and has become quite compact. In the salad area, for example, everything is still fresh but the selection is very small. The other dishes are typical buffet fare, and as is unfortunately usual, there are also a lot of fried foods that we personally tend to avoid. But you can find something without any problems and can end your visit to the restaurant satisfied, even if you have a lighter budget.

Very nice and clean restaurant. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. The buffet was extensive and was replenished quickly and continuously. There's also the option to have a decent selection of dishes freshly prepared. This works great too! Apparently, there's no à la carte food available during buffet hours. In my opinion, though, it's a really good idea, as the processes are completely tailored to the buffet, and you can tell. In summary, we really enjoyed it and I highly recommend the Golden Frog.

I threw up 4 hours after going to the restaurant and got food poisoning

Unfortunately it's no longer what it used to be. Lukewarm food in the buffet, duck was only served once and not refilled, sushi was covered in an indefinable sauce that looked like mayo, anything but appetizing... and that on a Saturday.

The food and selection is good and plentiful. That's why I give it 4 stars. BUT: However, what absolutely needs to be trained are the temporary staff/waiters. They bring the plates of grilled food and always have their thumb IN the plate when transporting it. All used plates are cleared from all tables and fresh ones are brought out. And in between did other things... wiped my face, scraped food off plates, stood at the counter and then served the fresh plates again with my thumb in the plate. This is absolutely unhygienic and disgusting! Not acceptable for me. Waiters' fingers don't belong on plates!!! I hope my recession brings a change here. Then we'd love to come back.

Average food at average prices, service is outrageously bad, 2 out of 4 plates were chipped and what’s worse, I was forced to order “at least one beverage” which I was told AFTER I had already sat down and started eating, that I never drink with my food meant nothing to them…manager was unapologetic, rude and told me I should go eat in a supermarket if I want a better deal. This is the absolute worst restaurant I have been to in Germany in the last decade, if not ever!

Despite the buffet, dishes that were used up were not refilled. The full price was demanded. The toilets were in disgusting condition. I don't think I'll be visiting this place again any time soon...

Yesterday, after a long break, we went to the Golden Frog again with the family and were shocked to realize that this can no longer be compared to previous performances. The food was largely no longer available in the 1900s and when, Then in a too dry, cold and carelessly squishy state. For many dishes, such as the popular salmon with sauce, you had to beg to order it. Sweet dishes such as cakes, warm pineapple in pastry coating and much more, Far from it, it was a real disappointment, especially for our grandparents who had invited us and their grandchildren after a great evening of concert. At the end, 3 aperitifs were brought for 5 people and when we asked politely why 3 there was a fourth, the 5 people got nothing. Very unfortunate, It used to be a great shop Now only for gluttons with aberrant tastes.

Unfortunately we were there for the first time today. We were completely satisfied. The ambience is lovingly decorated with high-quality stone sculptures of the zodiac signs. When it comes to food, there is really something for everyone and in abundance and in the house we generally cook without flavor enhancers👍🏻. We had our 2 small children with us and the staff is very attentive, funny and child/friendly. We probably won't be able to wait long for our next visit ☺️. Keep it up, highly recommended. 😋🤌🏻🤌🏻

We've enjoyed staying there so far, but were very disappointed at Christmas. The food was okay so far, the buffet price generally corresponds to the offer. Unfortunately, when we made the reservation, it wasn't pointed out that there was only a buffet at Christmas, which wasn't okay for us because not everyone wanted a buffet and also that it costs 5 euros more per person at Christmas. Because we were sitting in the next room like in the train station, where there was also a very unpleasant toilet smell, we were surprised with the Christmas price when we paid. Since I come from the catering industry myself, I wonder what our guests would have said if the meal at Christmas cost 5 euros more, and without a post on the homepage or any information on the phone when ordering. We're not coming any more for the time being.

Friendly staff. The food is very good. This is absolutely great for all you can eat. The process is well organized. Ideal for family celebrations.

I have considered writing at all, but I would like to share my point of view with other visitors. We were there today Sunday from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. in the golden frog the restaurant was not even a third full. The soup was tasteless and thick like jelly. The fried standards were lukewarm and moderately filled. The salad oil is empty and that at 12 p.m. when it opens at 11.30 a.m.! The raw meat and the fish/shells didn't look inviting, dried out and seemed a bit old. Dessert wasn't amazing either. Cake, ice cream without sauce, chocolate fountain didn't look inviting because it only had a little chocolate left. The gummy candies could be found sporadically in the bowls. Green salads were okay but the potato salad, pasta salad looked like it should have been stirred a week ago. Price performance and recommendation zero. The drinks and the friendly service were positive.

We like to stop here when we are passing through. It's not too loud. And you can have a pleasant conversation. But we were never there in the evening. The price-performance ratio is right in my opinion. The service is (children) friendly.

The staff are not friendly to foreigners and the ready meals are partly empty, there should be no leftovers on the plate. The lady in charge came rudely and told me that I have to pay €7 for the plate which contains leftovers and that we couldn't eat the whole grilled plate as the experience wasn't well grilled and the price is €69 dinner for one adult, my 12 year old daughter and a 7 year old daughter.

Price-performance is not right for me at all. Unfortunately the food didn't taste good at all. 3 people who were there with us and who don't live in the same household are lying at home with stomach cramps and diarrhea. One person even had to stop while eating. The drinks were - apart from the fact that they were Lidl drinks - non-carbonated. When asked about this we were told that it must have come from pouring slowly? What we also didn't like was that people came to our table to ask us (also at other tables) why we had left so much behind. You shouldn't do so much on it. What we didn't have. It was just leftovers that weren't eaten because they just didn't taste good. We also put the leftovers together on a plate.

Had a big birthday party at the weekend. The tables were lovingly decorated and all wishes were catered for. As always, the food was very tasty and all guests were completely satisfied. The restaurant is decorated relatively normally, like a normal Asian buffet restaurant. We were there on a Wednesday shortly after opening. Some of the dishes, especially the fried ones and also the dishes for the grill, are of course fresh, but the rest of the display and also the rice were not really edible, as most of the things were probably from the previous days. Therefore, unfortunately not really recommended, except perhaps on the weekend.

Heute war der Kellner äußerst unfreundlich, ich habe das Gefühl, dass er uns beim Herausnehmen des Essens gefolgt ist und kontrollierte.Es gab viele alte aufgewärmte Speisen, die Auswahl war begrenzt und die Qualität war sehr schlecht. Es tut mir leid, aber dieses Restaurant funktioniert nicht mehr.Wir kommen nicht wieder.

And there were nine of us, and everyone was very disappointed, dirty glasses and plates and yes, how I said that we were already disappointed recently and tried again but even the one star is too much to give here (son just runs around and just grabs his girlfriend's butt) no comparison with before... Wir waren gestern mit 13 Personen dort zum Buffet essen. Der Preis von 23,90 € ist wohl für Omni-Esser gerechtfertigt. Mir aber fehlte die Auswahl an vegetarischem oder veganem Essen. Es war auch nicht genau deklariert, was da jetzt lag. Außerdem wurde das Buffet nicht regelmäßig aufgefüllt, man stand oft vor leeren Platten. Essen war okay, aber nicht perfekt. Bedienung nett, Chefin überheblich. Das liegt wohl daran, dass sie (nach eigener Aussage) Neurologin ist... Wir werden nicht nochmal wiederkommen. Es gibt bessere asiatische Küche in Landau.

We visited the restaurant on Wednesday evening. Considering that we paid 20 euros per person for the buffet, the platters of food were mostly empty or completely empty. The ice cream was poorly chilled and one type of ice cream was gray in color. I've never seen gray ice before, so stay away. What we could eat was okay. But it said: If a dish is empty, you should tell the staff. I asked for crispy chicken, they brought noodles instead. The soup was leftovers, almost everything was leftovers Plum wine served cold in a martini glass - I've never experienced anything like that. It's usually warm. And we had to pay the full price for that. I understand that you don't want to waste food unnecessarily, but if you have guests over, you can't be so skimpy either. Never again!!! I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
