Zum alten Weinkeller in Bad Sassendorf

Es war ein gutes Erlebnis, nach stundenlanger erfolgloser Suche nach einem Cafe, fanden wir schließlich den alten Weinkeller und entschieden uns um 17 Uhr für ein frühes Abendessen. Der Grünkohl hat meinem Mann und meinem Vater geschmeckt, das Schnitzel und die Spinatknödel unseren Kindern. Meine Tante, meine Mutter und ich hatten das Rösti mit Schinken und Käse und es schmeckte auch sehr gut!

Als Erstes sehr nettes Personal, tolles Ambiente! Zur Küche; ging überhaupt nicht, kaltes geschmackloses Sauerkraut, Tüten Semmelknödel und eine undefinierbare Haxe.... meine Begleitung hat geräucherten Lachs gegessen der etwas besser war!

Wir waren im Mai an unserem Hochzeitstag im Alten Weinkeller, und wurden sehr enttäuscht. Mein Essen war einigermaßen (Paella)das Schnitzel von meiner Frau nicht zu genießen, da es aus Pressfleisch bestand und in der Fritteuse gebraten. Das Schnitzel haben wir zurück gehen lassen und als Ersatz eine Ofenkartoffel mit geräuchertem Lachs bestellt. Das war das schlechteste Essen das ich jemals bekommen habe. Der Lachs war ein Haufen auf dem Teller mit der tranigen Lachs!! Ich habe Fotos von dem Lachs eingestellt! Wir werden beim nächsten Besuch in Bad Sassendorf dieses Reataurant nicht mehr besuchen. PS. Zur Entlastung des Restaurants: Das Essen meiner Frau brauchten wir nicht bezahlen.

We were pleasantly surprised, a cozy interior, quick service and delicious food. From now on, this restaurant will be on our regular list to visit during our annual trip. They will definitely see us again here.

Addition November 4th, 2024: We tried again, having previously reserved a table in the fireplace room. On site we only received a cat table in the lower part...particularly annoying when you see empty tables for 2 hours. on which, for tactical reasons, reserved sliders are written... Ok, we should have just left...we still have to learn Only the ambience is still right, value for money is no longer given. You can already tell that people are eating out less, the prices have simply become exorbitant. €6.60 for a bottle of water is simply too high, especially as a wine drinker you should get water cheaper. I can understand the price if someone orders a bottle with 4 glasses and leaves it at that throughout the evening... All tables reserved, looks good then, but from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. there was no one in the lower area except us… To eat: 2x asparagus with small schnitzel/raw ham, 4 x wine, 1x water...that's €100 with tip. Home-made bread used to be available free of charge in advance...now only for a fee. All in all, it's not worth it anymore.

We had reserved a table for two this evening. I'm currently doing rehab in the neighboring spa clinic. This restaurant is just a few steps away. It's a great place to escape the communal food there for an evening. The dishes are down-to-earth but very tasty. The service is friendly and quick. For people with crutches or a walker, it is good to know that the toilets are on the same level as the guest rooms. The entrance is without steps.

We were very happy with everything.

I wonder why they have been rated so well so far. The food was really miserable. Well, I'm really not sensitive, but every cook should have a schnitzel and fried potatoes. It was swimming in fat and the meat had no taste. The potatoes would have preferred to go voluntarily into the garbage cans. And you would also get 25 euros for that. That's really cheeky.

Beautiful large beer garden and a very tasty menu! And also a very friendly and fast service! And if, for once, the weather isn't quite so good, you can go inside to the cozy dining room. Highly recommended!

I went there spontaneously after visiting the thermal baths and got a seat outside without any problem. The service was very attentive and friendly. The dark country beer was really good and the very tasty spinach dumplings, which are listed under “little things” on the menu, filled me up 😀

Nice outdoor space, everything clean, fabric tablecloths. Salt and pepper in place. Very courteous staff. In between we asked if everything was OK. There was matjes today. One in the housewife style and another variant. There is currently an extra menu with around 5 different herring dishes. !!! Highly recommended!! There is currently an asparagus season menu.

We enjoyed it, I had the vegetarian spinach dumplings. In my opinion, the vegetarian selection could be expanded somewhat. The ambience was nice outside, but I can't say anything about the inside.

Wir sind mit unserem Aufenthalt im alten Weinkeller sehr zufrieden. Die Speisekarte ist übersichtlich, also nicht zu umfangreich. Das Preis Leistungsverhältnis ist in Ordnung. Das Restaurant, zum alten Weinkeller , befindet sich im historischen Ortskern und hat einen sehr schönen Biergarten.

Unusual restaurant, both inside and outside, great, attentive service, prices for the food were rather expensive, we didn't think the quality of the food was that great. Hollandaise sauce didn't taste like anything, the pepper sauce tasted like it came out of a bag, sorry. Mushrooms with ham strips taste like they have been warmed up in the microwave, as do the fried potatoes.

Typical restaurant, very typical! But who will reconcile you with your bad preconceptions about German cuisine! The setting is super nice, the staff lovely and the food excellent! And I mean really excellent. The bread in particular is real bread, not old industrial slices. This meal was a revelation and I will happily return!

Super delicious food and nice atmosphere. There is only one thing to complain about: fries are only available for children and as adults we couldn't change the side dish from fried potatoes to fries. Otherwise great ☺️ always happy!!

A very nice restaurant. We were only in the area for one night and wanted something special. This is what we got. Everything was very nicely prepared. Super nice staff and really good food. We had fillet pot with hash browns and rump steak with fried potatoes.

The food was horrible. It didn't taste good at all and my partner and I had a real stomach ache afterwards. The portions are way too small. In addition, the food was there within 10 minutes, which might be a positive aspect for others, but for me it is not a sign of quality, especially since the hut was almost fully booked. The “house bread” was more reminiscent of discount store bread. Simply torn apart, like a plucked chicken, so in a restaurant I expect a little more attention when preparing the food. We both left hungry again afterwards, even though we could barely get the food down, we ate it all. It was simply too little. We were also very disappointed that canned mushrooms were served, where are we? At the fair? We are definitely used to better things and would have expected better. The only real consolation was that the staff was attentive and friendly. Oh yes, and the country beer is recommended.

Letztens habe ich den Weinkeller nach einer langen Zeit wieder besucht. Das Essen, Service und das Ambiente sind einfach erste Klasse! Es war schön wieder alte bekannte Gesichter zusehen.

We hebben deze week 2 avonden bij jullie genoten . Tafel 20. Eten en drinken is erg lekker. Het is gezellig verblijven bij jullie. Vriendelijke attente bediening. Wel jammer dat we vanavond vernomen dat er geen tafel voor 2 voor a.s. vrijdag beschikbaar is. Hopelijk is er toch nog wel een plaats voor ons.

Uns hat es ausgesprochen gut gefallen. Ein ganz großes Lob an Ihr Team!

Wir hatten zu zweit einen Tisch für samstags um 13.00 Uhr reserviert. Das ging telefonisch völlig problemlos. Obwohl wir zum Termin etwas zu früh waren, wurden wir freundlichst empfangen und vorbildlich bewirtet. Unser Faible für die deutsche Küche wird mit dem umfangreichen Angebot vorbildlich bedient. Die Käse-Lauch-Suppe mit ordentlich Rinderhack und dem Brot des Hauses (Achtung Allergiker: Walnusskern-Stücke) war als Solches fast eine kleine Mahlzeit. Das Weinkeller-Krüstchen ließ in Qualität, Geschmack und Menge absolut keine Wünsche offen. Besondere Erwähnung verdient die umfangreiche Weinkarte. Natürlich kann man auch zwischen anderen Getränken wählen. Fast überflüssig ist es, zu erwähnen, dass auch der anschließend bestellte Cappuccino und der Espresso Macciato allen Erwartungen entsprachen. Ein paar Worte zur Einrichtung: Das Lokal befindet sich in einem Kurort für Menschen mit vornehmlich orthopädischen Einschränkungen. Die Erreichbarkeit der Tische ist durch die zahlreichen Zugänge gegeben, allerdings muss die Toilette über einige Stufen erreicht werden. Der Zugang ist mit Rollator eher nicht möglich. Die urigen und sehr stilvollen Tische und Stühle stellen Hüftoperierte vor eine Herausforderung, da der Hüftwinkel gegebenenfalls ein bequemes Sitzen unmöglich macht. Unbedingt bei der Reservierung über solche Dinge sprechen, um Enttäuschungen vorzubeugen!

Schönes uriges Lokal mit gutbürgerlicher deutscher Küche

Liebes Team. Beim Treffen ehemaliger Mitarbeiter des Hotel Schnitterhof hatten wir einen unvergesslichen Tag in eurem Lokal. Es ist sogar noch besser geworden als vor 35 Jahren, denn es gibt die vielen Außenplätze, so dass wir auch nachts noch draußen sitzen konnten. Essen, Getränke, Service und Livemusik: alles top. Vielen Dank.

Wir waren zu unserem Ehemaligen Treffen Maritim 1980-2000 im Weinkeller. Wir haben die Location geliebt und oft besucht als wir vor 35 Jahren im Hotel Schnitterhof gearbeitet haben. Wir haben den Abend genossen. Ein tolles Buffet, super freundliche Servicemitarbeiter*innen, gut organisiert und mit dem Herzen dabei. Die Atmosphäre im alten Weinkeller ist immer noch so toll wie früher.

Gegessen habe ich keins vom Buffet, doch alle anderen um mich herum waren voll des Lobes. Sah super klasse aus das Buffet. Der Service war sehr aufmerksam, schnell, freundlich und mit einem Lächeln. Ansprechende Speisekarte, sehr freundliches Personal, Kaffee und Bier gut. Unsere Speisen waren sehr lecker zubereitet, für den Salat hätte ich mir allerdings die Alternative Balsamico/Essig und Öl gewünscht. Es war in der Adventszeit sehr alles sehr liebevoll dekoriert. Empfehlenswert!

Erst einmal das Ambiente. Es herrscht eine gemütliche, rustikale Atmosphäre. Wir haben uns sofort wohl gefühlt. Der Service ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Zum Essen: Meine Frau und meine Schwiegermutter haben den Weinkellersalat bestellt und ich die gebratene Blutwurst mit Bratkartoffel und Linsengemüse. Die Blutwurst war top und ich habe selten so gute Bratkartoffel gegessen. Das Linsengemüse war ebenfalls sehr gut. Dieses mit Spätzle hätte Mann ein tolles schwäbisches Gericht. Fazit: es lohnt sich.

It is so dark that you can't really see the few and unlit steps leading to one part of the guest room. So you should be very careful, because it is not assumed that you happened to bring a flashlight. When the eye gets used to the darkness, you can see a rather rustic interior, but somehow it has a lot of coziness. The photos don't really let you see this, as they were lightened up so you can see something in the pictures. The menus are already on the table and one finds a less extensive, but sufficient offer of more or less typical German dishes. In any case, everyone should find something suitable to eat. The service is very friendly and always there when you want to order something. It also does not go unnoticed if you have emptied a glass. Immediately they ask if you want another drink. The ordered dishes arrive after a short wait. They correspond to what is generally called home cooking. They are okay, but one should not have exaggerated expectations. There is a large free parking lot on the premises of the restaurant, so you won't have any problems if you arrive by car. Furthermore, there is a beer garden, which is ideal when the weather is suitable. Overall, the visit is also recommended due to the unusual interior of the former coal shed.

Am 26.06.2021 haben wir (2Pers.) den alten Weinkeller aufgesucht. Corona-Vorschriften wurden strikt eingehalten. Bedienung war, wie immer freundlich und zuvorkommend. Leider sind die Schnitzel meiner Meinung nicht frisch zubereitet. Mein Schnitzel war lauwarm. Es brutzelte nicht, wie frisch aus der Pfanne. Ich tippe auf Convenience

Es war aufgrund einer Reha. Und wir sind dort in eine Kleine Gruppe hin. Toller Service wirklich leckeres essen.

Wir waren mehrfach im "Alten Weinkeller" und waren bisher immer zufrieden. Wir entschieden daher die Konfirmation unserer Tochter hier zu feiern. Insgesamt 19 Essen am Tisch serviert. Angefangen von den Kartoffelküchlein mit hervorragend abgeschmeckten Matjestartar und Lachs, über das auf den Punkt gegarte Roastbeef zum Dessert war es perfekt. Die Beilagen (Raatouille und Pfifferlinge) waren ebenfalls gut und nicht matschig. Im "Alten Weinkeller" sind die Bratkartoffeln aber auch top, anders als in vielen Gastronomien triefen sie weder vor Fett, noch sind die Zwiebeln schwarz geworden. Die Sauce (Thymianjus) war gut abgeschmeckt und wurde separat gereicht. Der Service agierte souverän und unaufgeregt, also super!
