The food was really good. BUT you don't get a bill, just something scribbled on a beer mat. Completely opaque with 6 people. Upon request there is a handwritten note with 2 items - various dishes and various drinks. Oh and oops, I collected €20 too much beforehand. A celebration for the tax office. Too bad. Thank you and no more. The floor should also be cleaned, both under the table and on the toilet.

Great food and really friendly service had a lovely evening there

First and last time. We just had dinner there. All I can say is that I was extremely disappointed. Portions are far too small and are really overpriced. Getting the wrong food. If I remember correctly there is only one menu with suckling pig. My husband took it extra because it comes with fried potatoes and coleslaw. It was then delivered with fries. (Man is absolutely not a fan of fries) After asking nicely whether you could have fried potatoes, the nice answer was “yes”. After about two minutes they came in a cereal bowl, served ice cold. You couldn't see any of the coleslaw at all because you simply couldn't get it. However, I paid full price and wasn't full.

The food at the inn in Zülpich was quite good – solid, home-cooked food, absolutely delicious, and the portion sizes were also reasonable. The kitchen seems to know its craft, and that's definitely a plus. The atmosphere in the restaurant is also generally cozy and inviting. Unfortunately, the praise ends there – because what permanently tarnishes the positive impression is the service. In our case, the way guests were treated was disappointing and in no way commensurate with the ambiance or the prices. From the very beginning, we felt dismissed rather than welcomed. Questions about the menu were met with a mixture of impatience and noticeable annoyance. A smile or even a friendly tone? None. A particularly negative moment was when we politely pointed out that an order hadn't been taken correctly – instead of an apology or a professional resolution of the situation, we were snippyly reprimanded. This is unacceptable in the restaurant industry. Overall, it seems as if the service staff either doesn't want to serve guests or lacks any understanding of how important friendly and respectful behavior is in such an establishment. It's a shame – because the food alone doesn't make a restaurant experience worthwhile. A restaurant thrives on hospitality, and unfortunately, that was precisely what wasn't evident here.

We stopped there last night. It wasn't full, but we still waited over an hour for food. The waiter was very nice and the food was ok, nothing to praise but nothing to complain about either. However, the whole lower floor smelled extremely like a toilet and that lasted the whole evening. That wasn't very pleasant. The lady behind the counter also reported in a clearly coughing voice that she had been terribly ill for three weeks. Yes, you are happy to receive the drinks. Oh well. A glass tipped over at our table. We were given a rag when we asked, but none of the waiters felt responsible to help. Malleur, which was not our fault, remained our problem.

We were there on Friday and were very impressed. The food was super tasty and fresh. Yes, we waited a little longer for our food but there was a lot going on and considering the quality of the food, we were happy. The service was great (all of them).

Especially since we've eaten twice now with four people and waited almost an hour each time for our food. Unfortunately, the food didn't arrive all at once. The first person had already finished eating by the time the fourth person's meal was served. Dear restaurant, we always enjoyed coming to you. You urgently need to improve your service. Your food is very tasty. But we're not going to wait an hour for a simple schnitzel anymore.

Reserved a table two days in advance by phone, went there on the day in question, brewery closed. What's wrong with you? No indication why it is closed or anything like that. Of course, there was NOT a call to let you know that it would be closed that day! Thanks for nothing. It's lucky that you can't give minus stars, but you would have received minus 5 stars from me.

We ate there twice on Friday, the portions were good and it was delicious! What I didn't like was that you immediately get €2.00 written on the lid if you order fried potatoes instead of fries. That's not a change, but the menu says fries OR fried potatoes. The best thing was that you then had to show the waitress the Instagram post as proof.

Today we spontaneously went out with our 2 little Pomeranians and then stopped at the Zülpicher tavern and were pleasantly surprised, the whole ambience fit wonderfully with the tavern, everything was spotlessly clean, subtle decoration but very nice, despite it being open at the weekend, we had the feeling we were being entertained alone Dogs were immediately given a water bowl and were allowed to be with us. The service was extremely pleasant and very friendly. Despite being busy, we had 30-35 minutes of waiting time for a super delicious, freshly prepared schnitzel dish. Price/performance ratio, mega portions, nothing for small appetites:) (meega) unfortunately we didn't manage to get our side salad, but here too it was promptly offered to us, packed up to take away. We'll definitely come back more often. Thank you for the pleasant evening and the delicious food 😋 😋 😋

Super delicious food, everything perfect, super nice service, great and pleasant atmosphere. And for a pub, it hardly smelled like food at all.

We held our Christmas party there with 40 people! We got an extra large room on the ground floor. The staff is very nice and quick! I had a large champion cream schnitzel that tasted very good and everyone I spoke to was happy I'll definitely go there again."

The food is very good. For 18.50 euros there was schnitzel with mushroom sauce, fries and a side salad. For 15.90 euros, veal liver with onions and mashed potatoes. Only the side salad is for the garbage can. Everything else is recommended. Service needs improvement!!!

We ate at the Zülpicher Witzhaus for the first time on Saturday. The service was friendly, polite but unfortunately a little distracted at times. The structure of the menu takes a little getting used to, but what is on offer fits into the ambience of a pub. The food was really great. The schnitzel is highly (highly) recommended and the portions are not too small either. Delicious. We come for sure again.

We were there for the first time a few weeks ago - crazy. The food was absolutely top, large portions, ultra tasty, extremely nice service. We thought we had found our new local restaurant. On Saturday the punch in the stomach came. Gambas pan, with garlic, which tasted like everything but garlic. Cold fried potatoes, miniature roulade, strange schnitzel, salad not dressed. The service made a mistake in the price of 4 dishes and 2 of them. It's a shame it's such a nice place

You must have had a bad day today. After ordering, the first meal after 1 hour 40 minutes, the last meal after 1 hour 50 minutes and that for 4 people. The staff is completely overwhelmed, but so is the boss. The food was actually good but it's stupid when you have a small piece of plastic in the sauce.

Today I ate super delicious 😋 sauerbraten, with red cabbage and dumplings. Really a poem. Just like the other dishes on the menu, I can highly recommend it.

Were there for the first time on Sunday. The service was very friendly, polite and enlightened. The menu seemed a bit unstructured but when we got our food it was really great. As if I had cooked myself. Simply delicious 😋 The portions are right, value for money is very good! We'd love to come back In conclusion.. Toilets were also very clean! They are located on the 1st floor and can be reached using a stair lift if required.

I had a very good and rich salad, everything was very fresh and very tasty. The schnitzels at our table were quite large. Unfortunately there was a lack of staff, so the service suffered somewhat. Despite everything, the waiter was very friendly and did everything to our complete satisfaction.

An ambience that seemed fine from outside was deceptive. Particularly noteworthy are the absolutely inattentive waiters. It takes 20 minutes for the drink to be ordered and another 20 for delivery. It then takes 1.30 hours for the food order to be taken. Is it expected that more drinks will be ordered before the meal??!. The food was disappointing, but visually it looked good. Another hour passed before the bill arrived. Unfortunately, I'll never do that again.

I'm sorry to say that my visit to this restaurant was very disappointing. The food was cold and the fries seemed to have been in the deep fryer several times - absolutely inedible. The service was also subpar - rude and stroppy. A person who claimed to be the owner did not behave professionally at all. I certainly won't eat here again.

It was our first time at the Zülpicher Wirtshaus. We were critical due to a few negative reviews - but we like to form our own opinion. We sat outside in the beer garden. It was pretty well attended but not overcrowded. We ordered the drinks straight away, which were served very quickly. The food was brought after about 15-20 minutes. Schnitzel, currywurst, fries, side salads... Everything together was very tasty, fresh and lovingly prepared. And they are really decent portions! Someone once wrote something about ready-made sauces. That is definenitly not true! The staff is very friendly and attentive. My wife asked for a few slices of lemon - they were brought promptly. I would also like to mention that the checkout did not work and we were offered payment via PayPal. Very good! We will be back definitely.

The food doesn't even deserve one star, the meat was cold and was only warmed up very briefly together with the sauce, if at all. I haven't eaten such bad food in a long time. (Shashlik with fries) I would be ashamed to offer something like that to a customer.

The presumed boss greeted us in a friendly manner, but instead of helping to reduce the problem, he just stood around in the area. The food portions were large, the food itself was not exceptional. The service was brilliant, but because of the absence! Whenever she was spotted, she would stop at every table and hold a conversation with exorbitant calm, with each guest falling out of her field of vision. No customer can and cannot be satisfied with this commitment! After 1 hour, when we asked, we received our food, but it was between lukewarm and cold, so we were too idle to complain about it! Then the waitress came and asked if everything was OK. What did I ask, food wasn't there yet and I take the order back. Another waitress then came and said our food would come soon. We were happy to forego that. Waiting for 2 hours is not possible. Once and not again. However, they were very accommodating and gave a discount and apologized. But what use is that if you leave hungry after 2 hours?

The food was worse than most fast food places. The sauces were apparently ready-made, the fries were cold, the schnitzel was OK but nothing you would order again. The service across the board seems to have no idea about gastronomy. First, two different waiters ask for an order, but they don't bring any drinks or forget half of them, they can't answer questions about the wines or even know which wines the house offers. All in all, we'd probably rather go somewhere else.

I was warmly greeted when I made my reservation by phone and in the restaurant. I found the waiting time for the food to be relatively long (over 30 minutes) as there wasn't much going on. The portions are very large and for the price you can't complain - the taste was okay for me (spinach dumplings in mushroom gorgonzola sauce) - my colleagues were satisfied (ribs + roulade). I generally think the place is nicely decorated, but I don't think storing crates of drinks (I'm not talking about one) in the taproom for the deposit is that nice to look at.

Am Essen war nichts auszusetzen. Lecker und gut. Die Getränke sind "gepflegt". Wir freuen uns auf den nächsten Besuch!

Ein Besuch, der sich auf jeden Fall lohnt. Man fühlt sich vom ersten Moment an sehr willkommen. Die Küche ist hervorragend und der Service sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich. Das Lokal ist blitzsauber, die Sanitäreinrichtungen sind für gehbehinderte Menschen mittels Treppenlift erreichbar.

Main course, the suckling pig arrived after 1.30 minutes, too much time to wait for a dish! The food was tasty, but it wasn't possible to order dessert to round it off! Of the 6 different ones on the menu, only one chocolate pudding from the day before was available! Overall then quite weak! If 95 percent are not available, it would be better to hang a sign in the window, closed due to illness! This gives the customer the opportunity to enjoy their time somewhere else! A year ago there was already a dilemma because the cook was ill and the food on offer was then served as a makeshift from the grill. Today was the second chance, unfortunately nothing again! It was the last visit. For me it's clear that if you don't do anything, you'll become an innkeeper! Gastronomy should only be run by people who know their business! Because especially today, when everything is labeled at the top price, you want to expect more than at McDonalds!

For 2.50 euros you could order three slices of dry or old baguette bread and then you could also order a spoonful of mush at a reasonable price. We often and like to eat out, even if the restaurants had to raise the prices, but we won't do something like this There are too many others where the price and performance are justified

The Father's Day BBQ was very ambitious... There were around 90-100 guests there and there was one (1!!!) "normal" gas grill... Nothing was pre-grilled. Some of the meat was still raw on the inside (neck and turkey steak). Waiting times were considerable. The side salads tasted like convenience products. The prices were outrageous for the service. Now for the good: The service was very friendly and on the ball. The "alternative" salad was delicious. The atmosphere there is very nice and clean. Great beer garden! Still only 2 stars overall for the day.

Pricing and quality of the food don't match. Example: €8.50 for a bratwurst. 1€ for mustard etc. Salad from the bucket.

We celebrated our communion there, it was the nightmare of our lives. The buffet was OK. But now this!!! When we arrived there was no table set in any way. The buffet was ordered for 1 p.m., the food arrived at 1:50 p.m. The rosemary potatoes were still raw, forks, plates and glasses were missing. I felt sorry for the waiter, he was totally overwhelmed. We had to go into the kitchen every few minutes and ask about anything that was missing. We were embarrassed for our guests. To experience something like that on a special day like our daughter's communion and for so much money, it was an absolute nightmare. The boss told us afterwards that there was a lack of staff. The waiter apologized that everything went wrong that afternoon, but he already felt sorry for us.....you shouldn't accept 3 communions in one day if you don't have the staff to handle it all!!! For me / for us, it was an experience in this restaurant to break the habit. The fish stinks from the head up, that's all we can say in our case. You pay so much money and look forward to such a great day for our daughter, and you are so disappointed with this restaurant. I'm just sorry for our guests who had to witness the whole drama. I can only give one tip for the future, change your concept otherwise it won't work in the future. We were dazzled by the facade of this actually beautiful restaurant. But behind the facade, a lot of things aren't right. Sorry we have to say it like that...

We had reserved for 7:00 p.m. and were there on time. We received the menu after 15 minutes and the order was taken after another 10 minutes. Drinks came quickly. When we still had no food at 8:15 p.m., but the neighboring tables that came after us had already finished their food, we asked. It was said that the Eiffeler spit roast that we ordered had run out and had to be remade. We would actually have expected that this would be communicated to us earlier to give us the chance to reorder. When the food came after another 15 minutes, we had no cutlery. When we asked, we were given a basket with 3 cutlery, but we were 4 people. I would describe what we were served as Eiffeler spit roast as normal roast pork with a thick onion sauce, but not as Eiffeler spit roast. It wasn't rolled and didn't have a hole from the skewer, so it certainly wasn't spit-roasted. It also had no crust but was soft on the outside, which was further enhanced by the sauce. So definitely not what we expected as spit roast. To save my honor, it should be said that the roast pork tasted very good and it was a large portion. The fries were particularly good. Overall not bad, but just not what we ordered and expected.

We were in the restaurant today, April 13, 2024. Nice beer garden. But that's it ! Ordered shish kebab with fries! Shish kebab as warm as the tomato that came with it and the whole thing warmed up in the microwave. The fries were good, but that was it! The table neighbors felt the same way! We will not recommend or visit the restaurant. I was offered to heat the meat again! It has to be said too! We don't like food heated in the microwave. So the shish kebab went back and it was fine. There was another nightcap on the house, but that was it
