We landed here quite by chance on a rainy day and had absolutely no expectations. Moments like these are often the ones when life throws a little treasure at your feet. As soon as we entered, we were struck by the gigantic selection of cakes, true little works of art. We actually ate the most delicious cake of our lives there. Naturally, we wanted to know where these masterpieces came from. The answer: from the boss herself, who bakes fresh every day. A person full of humility and dedication. We were even able to thank her personally. It felt like congratulating an artist who prefers to let her work speak for itself. It's all the more sad that she's retiring at the end of the year. So if you want to enjoy the best piece of cake of your life, you should definitely head to Neuwied Zoo this year. Whether it's sunny or rainy, this cake can make any weather better. Thank you for this extraordinary experience!

We went there today for dinner with five children and five adults. The weather was fantastic for sitting outside. The sun was already strong, and we wanted to open the parasol. Oh, that didn't work at all. The tables were then somewhat reluctantly moved so that the awning could be extended. The food, mainly fries and chicken nuggets for the kids (the fries were very salty), wasn't exactly tasty (the currywurst was soggy and tasted sour), and the service wasn't particularly friendly either. Perhaps they should rethink the whole concept. We certainly won't be eating there again.

My husband and I went to the zoo and saw this restaurant and decided to try it, and we loved it. The food was delicious. We ordered Milanese with a choice of sauce, French fries, and a salad. We had a Coca-Cola and cake for dessert. The price-performance ratio is fantastic, and the portions are super good. Everything was delicious. The staff was super friendly and attentive. (I remembered to take pictures when they brought us dessert.)

I truly felt at home here! I can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant: The staff are wonderful people who always go out of their way to please their guests. A special thank you goes to the owner, Mrs. Montemurri. A woman of great intelligence who makes every guest feel like family. A person with a huge heart and exceptional human qualities. Even though this restaurant will be closing at the end of December, it will always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you for everything. ❤️

Listen. You've always been nice, but today I was disappointed. I sat at table 21 with my mom and my cousin. It felt like it took the waitress 20 minutes to come. When she finally approached us, she said hello to us as if she was taking our order, but then walked ignorantly to the next table. I ordered a banana split. I was upset. It was just a mixed ice cream with banana, but no banana split. There wasn't even banana ice cream in it, and there was no vanilla either. Instead, I got mango ice cream instead of banana. Very disappointing.

The food was excellent, but the manager was so rude and unfriendly that it almost made you not want to eat anything. I really wish I had given it a higher rating!

It's a great restaurant overall, but charging €8.50 for a 0.7l bottle of water is outrageous and a rip-off, especially in a zoo geared towards children. Even the beer there is cheaper…

We started with a sensational cappuccino in the morning (very delicious and strong). It was simply lovely on the terrace overlooking the zoo. Later, we had pizza and fries. The fries were fresh, perfectly crisp, and well-salted. The pizza, however, was the highlight: a crispy, nice and thin crust. And then there was the really delicious topping and sauce. Baked to perfection. Clearly, someone there knows their craft. And on top of that, the service was incredibly friendly. Truly fantastic.

The homemade lasagna is divine, and the pizzas not only look delicious, they are. When you can then sit on the terrace while eating and watch the animals (and people 😉), it almost feels like a vacation. So go and enjoy, as they're only open this year 😞 (The owner is retiring)

We visited the lovely zoo and restaurant today. I had the best apple strudel ever there. Absolutely delicious and made with love. You could really taste the difference. Thank you so much for a wonderful end to our zoo visit. Best regards, Yvonne

We live near the zoo and go there quite often with our children. We always enjoy eating pizza at the restaurant with the kids. But time and again we experience bad treatment from the woman who makes the payments. Today, we, two mothers with three children, were finally sitting down to eat something after a big round and instinctively put our water bottles on the table. Then the woman came over and said in a cheeky and disrespectful tone, "We should put the bottles down, we're in a restaurant." You don't do that because you have no manners, or on purpose. We understand that's normal, but you could work on your tone. We are the customers and we leave our money there many times a year. And we were in no way disrespectful to the lady or anyone else and do not deserve to be treated like that. If there were another restaurant, we would never go back to that woman. This is not the first time she has spoken in such a tone; I'm starting to think it could be my skin color. The other employees are very kind and attentive, always with a smile on their faces. But the lady could still work on estimating her customers.

Bemerkenswert leckere, selbstgebackene Kuchen. Dazu ein sehr guter Cappuccino. Der Service ist schnell und freundlich.

We usually come here for the homemade cakes and strudel. They're absolutely delicious. The coffee is also very good. The staff is quick and friendly. It's such a shame the restaurant is closing at the end of the year. Definitely try everything before then!

I arrived at the restaurant today shortly after the kitchen had closed for the day, but they kindly made me a pizza anyway. I had already read in the reviews that the pizza is very good, and I'm glad I had the opportunity to confirm that today. Everything was great (including the view!).

A visit to Neuwied Zoo is worthwhile for the restaurant alone. The service is very friendly. The spaghetti aglio e olio is unbeatable! When the weather is nice, you can sit outside with a great view. I was there today with my daughter and granddaughter. The staff are incredibly friendly, the food is simply delicious, and the children's plate was surprisingly large for a child's plate. The value for money is definitely excellent! Highly recommended.

Delicious food and friendly staff – we (two adults and a two-year-old) visit Neuwied Zoo every week, and lunch at the restaurant is a must. We can wholeheartedly recommend everything on the menu, and the staff is always very friendly. The female staff members are especially sweet with children; they anticipate their every need and always give them a lollipop at the end. There are plenty of high chairs available, and a changing table is located below the restaurant near the zoo restrooms.

Good food in a great atmosphere. Especially nice on the terrace when the weather is good, as you can see the animals. Service is also quick and attentive. One small drawback: if you want to eat here, you first have to pay the zoo entrance fee 😉

Yesterday we went to Neuwied Zoo again. First, we enjoyed a delicious cappuccino with a fantastic view. It made us feel refreshed and ready for our walk through the zoo. Afterwards, we went back to the zoo restaurant for a bite to eat. My partner ordered a pizza, while I was a little peckish but not really hungry. What a surprise! They brought a second set of cutlery with the pizza, so I could try some. In short: A very nice location, super friendly and attentive staff, delicious pizza, great ice cream sundaes, and good value for money. We'll be back, next time with an appetite! 😉

We were there yesterday, and what can I say? The staff were friendly (even with the kids), the food was great, and the atmosphere was truly nostalgic. My amaretti cappuccino was amazing; I highly recommend it.

Perfect for a meal while visiting the zoo. We were expecting zoo cafeteria food, but we got amazing pizza! And then there was cake… sensational! The friendliness of the staff, and especially their child-friendliness, is also outstanding.

Not friendly. Unfortunately, a scoop of ice cream instead of cream isn't possible because it's not an option. Therefore, children aren't allowed to have their requests... All in all, unfriendly, service unfriendly, and not recommended. A shame 😔

The seating is very pleasant, both inside and outside. The food is absolutely fine to good. However, you'd better have won the lottery before visiting, especially if you plan on having a drink. €3.90 for a small (0.3l) glass of apple juice spritzer is simply outrageous! I can understand that eating out should be worth something. However, I prefer it when I can see that what I'm ordering has added value, for example, through quality ingredients or skillful preparation. That simply doesn't apply to drinks... or to a pre-packaged ice cream for €4 at the kiosk by the playground.

Great restaurant with excellent food and very friendly staff in a beautiful setting. We once again opted for a zoo season ticket, and the restaurant was a significant deciding factor.

It was a wonderful day spent together. The owner and her staff welcomed us lovingly, offering a variety of fresh food and a selection of delicious homemade cakes. It seems strange to read such tasteless reviews. But some people have no respect for those who work in the food industry. I understand now how difficult it is to find more and more people who want to work in this industry. We should just say thank you for the hard work you do every day. But some people don't even know the word "thank you"! As for me, I'm grateful for the wonderful day and I hope you continue with the strength, determination, and skill that distinguishes you.

For us, as season ticket holders, the restaurant at Neuwied Zoo has become an integral part of our zoo visit. We eat there almost every time, and we've never been disappointed. The food and cakes are always fresh and delicious, which reflects the quality of the offerings. The friendliness and attentiveness of the owners and all the staff deserves special mention. They always make us feel welcome and play a significant role in making our visit a thoroughly enjoyable experience. We can wholeheartedly recommend the restaurant at Neuwied Zoo!

To go into the parasol issue again as requested. Since one has to reckon with the audacity of some people in public catering areas who open a parasol without permission, shouldn't one have to mark it if it is not secured (according to one's own statements) and poses a risk of accident? But of course this also provokes an inappropriate reaction from the owner towards her customers, who is used to serving ever-changing customers and can therefore afford to do so and make the recessions clear in person. But "these" people will never enter the restaurant again and will no longer cause any inconvenience. Good luck to the rest of your customers and the well-run restaurant!

We were at the Zoo Restaurant yesterday. We sat outside on the terrace. At 30 degrees in the shade and in direct sunlight, we opened a parasol. The owner then freaked out so much and insulted us across the crowded terrace, saying that we would think of opening a parasol on our own. After all, this would be their property. Unfortunately, something like that isn't possible!!! You could certainly have said this in a calm tone instead of shouting across the entire terrace. If we hadn't already had our food, we would have gotten up and left.

The food is ok. The restaurant and the furniture are getting old. But why I give the one-star rating: When we visited the Zoo Restaurant, a family with a very small baby (13 weeks, the father told me) was also there. It cried a lot and only its mother could calm it down. The father and grandparents took turns; to calm the baby down and take turns taking him out. But only mom, who ate her food as quickly as she could, could provide relief. Instead of showing compassion, the (I think) owner of the restaurant made such derogatory comments about the baby at our table that I don't even want to repeat her words here. Regardless of the fact that children and babies should be more than welcome in this restaurant and in all others, such statements are in no way acceptable. Families need understanding and support. Children are our future. We should lay the world at their feet and be more than welcoming. Instead, they keep coming across people who make it very clear to them that they are being a nuisance. Absolute no go. We will not visit this restaurant again.

Wer den Zoo in Neuwied besucht, sollte sich das Essen im Zoo-Restaurant nicht entgehen lassen. Familiär geführt und mit einer abwechslungsreichen Karte an Speisen und Getränken kann man dort wunderbar einkehren. Das Restaurant ist sauber und das Personal sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich. Die Preise sind angemessen und das Essen frisch und lecker. Sowohl die Hauptspeisen als auch der Nachtisch lässt keine Wünsche offen. Sehr empfehlenswert.

The restaurant is a real Italian restaurant with delicious pizza, great pasta and great ice cream. Coffee and cake are also great. Only recommended.

We were there for the first time. I think 8.50 euros for a bottle of water is totally overpriced! And I also thought a children's portion of fries was 4.50 euros (it was really a children's portion) and it was an additional 50 cents for ketchup:( The schnitzel arrived almost raw twice... We had already had it returned once. And the salad was sandy. Sorry, next time we'll go to the snack bar at the zoo. There are fries with chicken nuggets for 5.50! Afterwards we were forced to give a good rating at the table. It's best to do it now so we don't forget it. Sorry! But that is an absolute no-go!

There is a very tasty snack at the playground! The fries are crispy and well seasoned and the sausages taste really delicious too! It's not just pork sausages that are offered in the roll. These are really recommended 😋👍🏽 Unfortunately you pay extra for the mustard and there aren't too many tables with seating...

Das Lokal hat eine schöne große Aussenterrasse, die höher gelegen ist, also eine Art Balkon. Von dort hat man einen sehr schönen Weitblick und man kann auch in das große Gehege mit den Gnus und den Watussi-Rindern schauen. Auch viele Pfauen stolzierten unten vorbei. Besonders loben möchte ich den sehr netten und flotten Service! Bestellung und Getränke-Lieferung, beides sehr schnell. Auch innen war das Restaurant schön eingerichtet.

We really enjoy going to the Neuwied Zoo and our son won't go home without a visit to the restaurant. We have never been treated unkindly and the food has always been great. Extra requests are always attempted to be fulfilled. We love that we don't have to carry our own food to have a great day at the zoo.

Incomprehensible! We wanted the sauce for the schnitzel separately in a bowl for our child. Due to the annoyed expression on the waitress's face, we asked if that would be a problem. Answer: "No, just complicated". We found this “expense” on the invoice as a surcharge of €1…! We have never experienced this in a single restaurant before. The food itself is rather mediocre. Small portions and frozen products at exorbitant prices. And the service wasn't exactly blessed with friendliness either.

Food was acceptable. Service difficult. A request to serve fries separately was charged at 1.00. A total of 90 was left and an extra plate is charged? Sry, I think it's bold.

Als Unterbrechung unser Zoobesuchs haben wir das Restaurant besucht. Was soll ich sagen: es war einfach hervorragend. Wir hatten Pizza 🍕 - beide waren Klasse, vom Teig angefangen bis zum Belag. Wir können diese nur empfehlen. Gekrönt wurde das alles von zwei Expressi und zwei Eisbecher. Den Besuch können wir nur wärmsten empfehlen.

Das Zoo Restaurant ist nicht gerade preisgünstig. Gut, das sind andere auch nicht. Und jetzt kommt der Oberhammer: Es ist nämlich wirklich ärgerlich, wenn man für eine Currywurst mit Pommes bereits einen Preis von 9,90 € bezahlt und dann für Ketchup noch zusätzlich 50 Cent extra verlangt wird. Das erscheint mir als unfair und unverhältnismäßig, besonders wenn man bedenkt, dass Ketchup eine gängige und preiswerte Beilage ist. Es wäre wünschenswert, dass solche zusätzlichen Kosten transparent kommuniziert werden, bevor man die Bestellung aufgibt, Nicht, dass man hinterher überrascht wird, wenn die Rechnung höher ausfällt als erwartet. So aber bleiben negative Gefühle.

We actually just wanted to have a small snack and were really pleasantly surprised!! The food was really tasty. We had a little bit of everything and were totally thrilled. It's a shame that the restaurant is in the zoo, otherwise we would definitely come to eat a lot more often. Definitely an absolute recommendation and don't forget the cake :-) A small deduction in the service...it was very busy and stressful, unfortunately you could tell by the mood. Not everyone was in a good mood, which is a bit of a shame but understandable. We will definitely come back the next time we visit the zoo and we are already looking forward to it. Keep it up!!

Went to the zoo in Neuwied today and had a really delicious meal in the restaurant. This won't be the last time. Extremely delicious

The restaurant is the heart of the zoo and offers everything for young and old. The food is very tasty and the cakes in particular are a highlight. One point that is particularly important to me is child-friendliness. Children are always welcome and are treated really well here. Be it a very special, specially made ice cream sundae or the lollipop when paying, you always walk in and out here with a good feeling. As soon as you enter the restaurant you see smiling faces and friendly words. The tables are always lovingly decorated and the animal photos on the walls are great to look at. In the back there is our favorite place with a view of the animal house through a large window. We really enjoy coming here and can recommend the zoo restaurant with a clear conscience. Thanks for that!

For a zoo restaurant, the food and ambience were really good! I had pasta with ham and cream sauce, my husband had a salad and our little one had apple strudel with ice cream, cream and vanilla sauce. We also had a large cappuccino, apple juice, a beer and a cola. We didn't pay €60 for that and I think that's completely okay. The portions were so large that neither my daughter nor I could finish them. The food was super delicious! The service is authentically Italian and super nice! There was a lot to do on the first day of summer today, so we had to wait a bit before we wanted to pay. But my, I can handle it in the sun over the roofs of the zoo with a view tens of kilometers into the distance 😅 The view from the restaurant is really nice. The toilets were very clean. The restaurant is by no means the usual zoo canteen. It really is an obviously family-run restaurant (that's what it felt like). Overall, there are salads, pizzas, fast food, desserts (cakes, ice cream, apple strudel, etc.), pasta. Alcoholic, non-alcoholic and warm drinks. It was really a nice hour for lunch 😋

Warm food is not recommended and the price-performance ratio does not match. Service is very nice - we wouldn't come back because of the negative experience with the food (cheapest TK).

My wife and I ate the BEST APPLE CAKE IN THE WORLD today! And since the very nice and attentive boss promised us that the cheesecake would be at least as good... we'll definitely be back :) (well, also because of the zoo)

Wir waren am 07.01.24 hier Essen. Es war alles super, Bedienung und Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend ! Das Essen war zügig fertig, keine 20 Minuten nach Bestellung. Es wird auf die kleinen Besucher geachtet. Wir hatten einen Vorspeisen Salat und fast zeitgleich hatten die kleinen auch ihr Essen... Preis-Leistung ist top 👍 wir kommen gerne wieder. Das Zoo Restaurants von Neuwied ist im Gegensatz zu vielen anderen Zoo Restaurants KEINE Abzokbude Der Service ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend gewesen und das obwohl das Restaurant gut und mit vielen Kinder besucht war. Die Speisekarte bot für jeden Geschmack was. Das Essen war gut und reichhaltig und das Preis Leistungsverhältnis war super. Wenn es auch Leute gibt die glauben für den Preis Sterneküche zu bekommen. Es gibt natürlich immer was zu verbessern aber: Ich sage macht weiter so

Wir waren mit Freunden im Zoo Neuwied dann bekamen wir Hunger wir sind erst ins Restaurant wo das Personal sehr höflich war das Essen super lecker so wie die Desserts super waren daraufhin sind wir weiter durch den Zoo und am Ende haben wir uns noch was am Kiosk geholt auch der junge Kioskverkäufer war sehr nett und zuvorkommend kann ich nur weiter empfehlen.

Wir wurden freundlich empfangen und noch vor dem sitzen nach Getränke gefragt, diese kamen auch sehr schnell, aber das war es auch, danach vergingen 30 Minuten bis wir jemand fragen konnten ob wir bestellen können Die Pizza und die Calzone waren lecker, allerdings war die Calzone nur mit wenigen Zutaten gefüllt

Kleines aber gutes italienisches Restaurant im Zoo Neuwied. Pizza und Lasagne waren überaus lecker. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und bemüht jeden Wunsch zu erfüllen. Kleiner Wermutstropfen war, dass leider kein Lambrusco mehr vorrätig war. Ansonsten sehr empfehlenswert.

Das Essen hat mir & meiner liebsten NICHT geschmeckt. Das Lokal besticht als einziges mit einer wunderschönen Aussicht auf einer hochgelegenen Terrasse.

Immer wenn wir im Zoo sind, fast jede Woche, besuchen wir das Zoorestauant. Die Gerichte sind lecker, die Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich, man sitzt dort gemütlich. Was will man mehr? Wir sind rundum zufrieden.

Nach unserem Rundgang haben wir den Imbiss genossen , sowie am Eis-Kiosk, das tolle Eis und Waffeln 🧇 Die Bedienung und Freundlichkeit am Eis-Kiosk war hervorragend 😊 trotz der vielen Besuchern mit vielen Wünschen hatte der Service stets ein Lächeln und viel Geduld um alle schnell zufrieden stellen zu können. Dies fanden wir wirklich super. Nach unserem zweiten Rundgang im Zoo, haben wir das Restaurant besucht, um uns einen Kaffee und Kuchen zu gönnen 😊. Konnte die Gastgeberin, Frau Tina kennenlernen, eine sehr nette und kundenorientierte Person, die stets Ihr bestes zusammen mit Ihren Mann und den Service tut,um Ihre Kunden zufrieden stellen zu können , man fühlt sich in dieser Atmosphäre total wohl und genießt es 😊. Der selbstgemachte Kuchen 🍰 von der Gastgeberin ist einfach köstlich, konnte einen Apfelkuchen komplett mit Eis probieren. Werde es nur weiterempfehlen können 🥰. Wir werden nächstes Mal dort Mittagessen, da ich bereits schon beim Service die leckeren vorbereiteten Teller sehen konnte. Alles super 👍 vom Service , Freundlichkeit und Essen 🍱. Essen (Lasagne) superlecker und selbst gemacht, sehr netter Service, hat alles gepasst - wir waren rundum zufrieden - vielen Dank

Schöne Aussenterasse und tolles Kuchenangebot

Wir waren zum ersten Mal im Zoo Neuwied und entsprechend auch zum ersten Mal im Restaurant dort. Service sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, das Essen sowie der Kuchen waren äußerst lecker. Getrübt wurde das schöne Erlebnis allerdings dadurch, dass alle 3 Speisen zu unterschiedlichen Zeiten an den Tisch gebracht wurden. Wenn wir zu dritt kommen und zu dritt bestellen, möchten wir auch zu dritt essen ;)

Sehr freundliche Bedienung und zügiger Service. Preis Leistung prima. Die Lasagne war spitze und auf jeden Fall selbstgemacht.

Einmal im Jahr fahren wir in diesen Zoo, nicht zuletzt wegen dieses Restaurants. Freundliche Bedienung, leckeres Essen (nicht nur aber vor allem auch italienische Küche😍), gute Auswahl, gemütliche Atmosphäre und auch preislich kann man nicht meckern. Diese Woche fahren wir bei Wetter sogar nochmal hin und dann gibt es auf jeden Fall ein Stück Flockensahnetorte!😁
