Zom Stüffje in Cochem

We came here on a recommendation and were disappointed. The service was very nice, but the food really wasn't tasty. It was only lukewarm, the schnitzels were dripping with fat and tasted as if they had been prepared in advance and then just briefly tossed in oil to warm up. There were real blobs of grease on the plates. The Balkan-style sauce was like a canned tomato sauce with a few fresh tomatoes, some parsley, and a few strips of bell pepper. The hunter's sauce tasted of nothing. If it hadn't included mushrooms, it could have been a "can-do" sauce. The restrooms aren't particularly clean either. There are spiders and webs in the corners, and in the women's restroom, the lid on the hygiene bucket next to the toilet is missing. You wouldn't want to see used toilet paper! In the men's restroom, the urinal flushes very poorly.

Extremely real and authentic restaurant. The #1 place to go, this wa exactly what we were looking for. For me this made the trip complete and the food was the best we've had in Germany in general. Just go here don't doubt and enjoy the hospitality and good food, great service and great waiter too, he was very funny. He took a picture of himself when we asked for a group foto so we will never forget and hopefully we will see him again when we go back to Cochem! Thanks for the experience!

The two of us came in without a reservation and were immediately warmly welcomed at the door! We had a comfortable table for two and both drinks (wine and beer) were taken and served promptly. The food (sausage stomach and "the rolls") were brought out after a short time, which you need to look around anyway. It was super delicious and, above all, the whole evening was fun! We went to eat here because it was recommended by others, and it was worth it. The food is good, you get large portion and price wise there is nothing to say about it. They provide enough options for everyone to have a normal dinner there, including vegetarians. On this particular day there was only one waiter working, but the service was excellent. The waiter talked with everyone, was enthusiastic and really really nice. He served everyone with a smile and a laugh while working pretty hard. The atmosphere is amazing. There are all sorts of wall and window decorations like a mural of Cochem carved out of wood, or different stained glass windows with depictions of what seemed to be grape harvesting/wine making related. The overall look of the inside feels like it could be an old time tavern.

That's what you call event gastronomy. Order came quite quickly, it was Carnival Saturday, it was very busy and the staff seemed to be sick. Nevertheless, the service was calm and nice. Then while clearing away the knife attack on my wife (knife dropped). Was an accident. Nothing happens. Then the S.W.A.T. Use (carnival) at the neighboring table, where some things were broken. I already mentioned sick staff. The atmosphere is really worth a visit and despite the adverse circumstances everyone was very friendly and tried hard. Only the vegetarian offer urgently needs to be revised. The cauliflower cheese medallions are yucky. My rum steak was on point. We will definitely come back again on our next stay in Cochem.

The food tastes very good. The service is great, we didn't have to wait long for our food. You sit very comfortably in an old half-timbered house, which creates a nice ambience. Highly recommended!

We stayed with you on February 14th, 2025 on the recommendation of our hotel (Hotel Villa Via) and were by no means disappointed. As soon as we entered we were greeted with a funny saying from Dennis. Luckily he found a place for the two of us. And kindly he only made a few jokes about the fact that we wanted to drink non-alcoholic wheat. Joking aside. It was a great evening as the waiters all served with fun and a few cheeky jokes. The food came quickly and was really tasty! We had a lot of fun with you, which was of course also thanks to our host Dennis. Thanks for that.

A very delicious traditional restaurant! At first glance, the portion may not look big, but it’s actually quite good and very delicious! The service attitude is very good. The 6 of us didn't make a reservation. Even during the busiest dinner time, the boss still received us warmly!

We are studying abroad in Luxembourg from the States and wanted to travel somewhere chill in wine country. Our friends recommended this place which was right next to our airbnb. I got a bratwurst with a cream sauce and potatoes and it was SOOOO GOOD!! Highly recommend!

I had an incredible dining experience at Zom Stuffje in Koblenz, trying their table-side cheese dish with the flaming ceramic pot. The cheese was perfectly melted, rich, and flavorful, with just the right amount of seasoning—it paired wonderfully with the bread and vegetables provided. The interactive flame added such a fun, memorable touch. I give the food quality a 5 out of 5 stars—absolutely outstanding

If you are looking for authentic German food this is a perfect place to go. I and my company are all vegetarians and it is quite often challenging to find local flavours, but this place solved all our problems. We had vegetarian bratwursts and vegan frikadellen and they were very good. The service was friendly and they helped us with all our questions! Highly recommended! I promised to write “greetings from Finland” at the end of this review so they know that we are the vegetarians from Finland 😂

The eight of us had a nice, cozy and delicious meal. Nice friendly atmosphere, excellent enthusiastic service. We were ready for it after a day of strolling through Cochem. I already had this Stüffje on my radar at home in Hardenberg, so when my daughter suggested we eat here, I was immediately convinced. Not only the service, the food and we were excellent, the other guests also made it a wonderful evening. We had made a reservation, which is fortunate because more people want to eat here, which makes sense haha. Thanks Dennis!

No idea why this restaurant gets such high scores here... We had made a reservation in advance and mentioned that we had something to celebrate and received a nice email back. Unfortunately, there was no sign of this on the spot and there was no room for a quiet table either. The old main part looked nice and rustic, but we were allowed to sit in an atmospheric side room. It must be said, the service was very fast but also made a rushed impression (staff were sick, he said). The food was tasty but unimaginative. The bratkatoffeln were in a heap and noticeably warmed up. They were therefore not warm. The meat was good. Maybe this evening was a miss, but they won't see us there anymore. Conclusion: belly full, small bill but not a good meal in an unpleasant restaurant. Luckily we were able to get dessert at our hotel.

We ate here at the Federweißerfest on Saturday last week. Accordingly, it was very crowded. We were lucky to get a table in the small building next door as one just became available. However, you have to keep in mind that the staff is not always on site, but can be seen from time to time. The main restaurant is nice and rustic. Toilets and payment are also in the main building. Food was super tasty.

Although it has a characteristic appearance, the interaction with the guests is unfortunately limited. (possibly due to insufficient staff.) The meat was good. (shame about the watery pepper sauce) not really recommended.

Beautiful building where we have eaten twice now. The big problem is that the door to the outside is always open. The curtain in front too. It is therefore always cold in the late season. People sit inside with their coats on. That's not pleasant. The reason is that the staff walks up and down to serve people a drink outside. Really very sad.

Special location for eating, but no more than that. Staff was in a big hurry, we had an hour to eat. We achieved that, but it felt rushed. Staff is nice. The food was nothing special, one half slice of tomato next to some boring boiled potatoes. Compared to other places in Cochem, not a bad choice.
