Delicious food, especially the salad *-* nice boss and employees and you can sit inside or outside :)

Unfortunately the food wasn't good and was very carelessly prepared and expensive, the service couldn't be criticized, it's a shame.

We were there for the first time today and had the beef roulade and cordon bleu. Both were very well prepared. The salad was also extremely good. We definitely won't go there often.

When I asked whether card payments were accepted (which should actually be a given these days), I was told several times that only "cash" was true - and that I could get cash. Service desert Germany! We then went to the Maisenbacher Hirsch - there, customer service counts for something (card payment is of course possible) and the schnitzel is at least as good!

We definitely cannot recommend this “restaurant”. The service is sloppy, the “food” is thrown on the table. Chanterelles tasted like they came from a can and the rump steak tasted and smelled rotten. After complaining, you get an apology but with the justification that everything should have been okay anyway. And then having the nerve to demand that everything has to be paid for. Never again! I'd rather eat dog food

A few people have already posted and that's true (unfriendly service) and the rump steak food smelled rotten and was left standing. After complaining, the service gets rude and hopefully I accidentally hit the plate on the head.👎Unfortunately there are no zero stars

Positive reviews about the food are inexplicable. Schnitzel frozen / deep fryer. Colorful salad completely out of the bucket. Disappointing.

Typical Swabian restaurant or inn. The food is home-style and always good. Good price performance. I have been there many times and will continue to visit the restaurant.

If you are traveling in the Schömberg region then a detour to this restaurant is worth it. Everything is good, home-style, furnishings with a small beer garden on the street, food, service, prices. We were in the region 4 times in June and had dinner here twice. Min. once too little. There are enough parking spaces around the restaurant. Enjoy your meal and enjoy it.

That was really a direct hit! Excellent food, very friendly service, everything was great! The ambience is getting old, but it has its own charm. We will also make a (larger) detour to eat here on our next trip.

A good middle-class restaurant with a rustic atmosphere. Bourgeois menu with really good quality. Service is rustic and very friendly in keeping with the atmosphere. Not for anyone looking for a 4 star restaurant. Everyone else should e.g feel comfortable.

We took a look here while on vacation. A very typical restaurant with a classic regulars' table.😂🫶, hosted by two older ladies who do it with passion. We were there and unfortunately it was very full and some of the ladies seemed a bit overwhelmed with the orders. The ambience is simple, but the food gets five stars without reservation. Very tasty, freshly prepared and available in sufficient quantities.🍀🍀🍀

Nicely located with friendly staff and good, typical German food. I can recommend everyone to take a detour here. Due to the nice weather and the resulting increase in the number of guests, the service was unfortunately a bit slow - but we were informed about the increased waiting time when we arrived. The taste of the schnitzel was very good, but it was served without cranberries and with tunke. (There is therefore a star deduction in this category for this schnitzel crime. (It was still delicious))

We returned as a small group after the hike. Home-style cooking with no frills, generous portions at fair prices. Everything was delicious. The service is rustic, but we all had fun. Gladly again!

Today we were at the fox hole again. We discovered this place by chance on a hike a few weeks ago and we were all very excited. So today we are going back specifically. The restaurant offers a journey through time. Inside still felt like it was in the 50s. There's even an old jukebox hanging on the wall with the songs from back then. She wants DM, but probably wouldn't make a sound even if you still had some. Whatever, great! The small salad plate seamlessly ties in with this time. In a positive sense, it has everything you know from the 60s (if you're as old as we are). Each component with its own dressing, great potato salad, together a poem. Outside there is a very lovingly furnished area with tables, umbrellas and flowers. There are usually daily specials, but not much of it, so it's worth coming early. We know the beef roulades and, since today, the matjes. Both are great culinary delights. Yes, top herring in the Black Forest, with a fantastic dressing with delicious apple pieces. The ladies in service were very friendly! Someone had a difficult day today and still had very friendly, almost familiar words for us. A lot of things have broken down in society since Corona. Anywhere, business or private. But the catering industry, among others, has been hit very hard. It is all the more important that we value the services offered to us in places like the Fuchsbau. We will come back in any case! Thank you for the beautiful and delicious hours. Addendum: Today we were at the fox hole again. It was super delicious, as always. We met all three ladies in service and are thrilled with them. We had beef cheeks, which were fantastically tasty and very generous in quantity. Lunch of the day! As already mentioned above. Today we were at Zollernblick for the first time. The viewpoint, which is reflected in the name of the restaurant. It is only about 15 minutes away from the restaurant. Definitely worth it if the visibility is good. Great restaurant, highly recommended! Update: In the last year, more and more restaurants have ceased operations. Therefore, the remaining ones are becoming more and more crowded. At least that is our subjective impression. Same in the fox hole. Therefore our new tip: Be sure to reserve if you are not flexible! Couples often have to be turned away around 12 p.m. This is unfortunate for both sides.

We have been coming to Schömberg on (short) vacations for almost 20 years and eating in Oberlengenhardt at Ellen's is always a highlight. Vegetarians also get their money's worth thanks to the great salads, which are fresh, colorful and well seasoned. My husband loves home cooking like roulades, which can be enjoyed here perfectly prepared, as well as many other delicious meat dishes. The family atmosphere, which makes hikers feel comfortable here, means we always have cozy and relaxed hours in the Fuchsbau. See you soon again at the Fuchsbau ❤️

We went for dinner on October 14th, 2023. The dining room is comfortably furnished in a rustic style. The service was prompt and very friendly. Special requests for food are no problem. The food was a highlight. The salads are crisp, fresh and beautifully prepared. The main courses were exceptionally good and tasty. Gladly again and again!!! The three Hessians 😀

Rustikales und gemütliches kleines Gasthaus mit Biergarten und leckerer Hausmannskost. Großzügige Portionen, faire Preise, netter Service. Auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert.

Da merkt man die 50 Jahre Erfahrung in der Gastronomie. Super leckeres Essen, wie man es vllt. nur von der eigenen Mutter kennt. Sehr gastfreundlich und aufmerksam. Preis absolut der Leistung gerecht. Da kommt man gerne noch einmal vorbei und kann dieses Gasthaus gut weiter empfehlen.

Wir waren gestern zur etwas ungewöhnlichen Zeit von 15 Uhr auf der Suche nach einem Mittagessen und sind hier mit einem leckeren Schnitzel mit Pommes und Bratensauce😍 verpflegt worden. Vorneweg gab es einen außergewöhnlich leckeren Beilagen-Salatteller. Alles darauf war frisch - keine Eimer-Ware - und sehr gut angemacht. Der beste Bohnensalat seit Jahren! Wir kommen sicher wieder, wenn wir in der Gegend sind!

Super leckeres Essen bei einer ganz lieben Wirtin in einem urigen Ambiente. Die Küche ist echt auf Zack, da könnten sich viele große Häuser mal ein Beispiel nehmen. Sehr empfehlenswert

Ich war heute zum ersten Mal hier. Sehr freundliche Inhaberinnen, sehr gutes Essen. Ging auch sehr zügig. Ich hatte Zwiebelrostbraten mit Spätzle und Beilagensalat. Kann ich empfehlen. Leider kein Foto gemacht.

Uns Urlaubern wurde der Fuchsbau von Einheimischen empfohlen und es hat sich gelohnt. Das Tagesessen war frisch zubereitet und super lecker. Wir haben Kohlrouladen mit Rösti und Salat gegessen. Der Kartoffelsalat und die Rouladen waren der Hammer. Für mich hat es nach Kindheit geschmeckt, aber auch die Atmosphäre war stimmig. Die nostalgische Einrichtung weckt in mir ein heimeliges Gefühl, was auch durch die natürliche Art der Bedienung verstärkt wurde. Jederzeit gerne wieder!

Wir kamen per Zufall in dieses Restaurant. Sehr freundlicher Service und total gutes Essen. Wenn man richtig schwäbische Kpche erleben will dann ab in den Fuchsbau. Das Essen ist phänomenal und die Portionen äusserst gross.

Essen war lecker Bedingung freundlich

Gut-bürgerliches Essen, leider nichts vegan, vegetarisch gerade 1 Gericht auf der Karte. Leider haben von 4 Personen 3 nach dem Essen Durchfall gehabt. Wir hatten alle etwas Unterschiedliches gegessen. Ambiente direkt aus den dunklen 80ern. Das Servicepersonal ist leider absolut unterirdisch schlecht: unfreundlich, patzig und unverschämt. Wiederkommen werden wir nicht.

Wir saßen mit einer Gruppe draußen. Der Service war gut, schnell und freundlich. Mein Highlight waren die Knödel mit Pfifferlingen. Super lecker.

Waren heute nach dem Rundweg "Zollernblick" zum ersten Mal im Fuchsbau. Ein tolles, superschnell zubereitetes Essen in klassisch guter Hausmannskost, ein herzlich -natürlicher Empfang und freundliche Bewirtung und unsere Hündin Mila hat auch noch eine Wurst bekommen. Also wir waren begeistert und kommen sicher bald und sehr gerne wieder. Den Besitzern vielen Dank und weiter alles Gute.

Sehr Gutes Restaurant, das Essen ist super gut. Ich kann es nur Empfehlen, werden wieder hin gehen.

Suppe, Hawaiitoast, Maultaschen, Bratwurst und beilagensalate waren sehr gut, die Käsespätzle waren sehr großzügig mit Käse erschlagen. Preise sind passend, halt Schwäbische Hausmanskost. Allerdings Gläser mit Lippenstiftabdruck, eine Bedienung die abgehetzt kommt nach der Devise "Nix gschwätzt is globt gnuag", räumt Teller ab quasi sobald leergegessen (nur der Schwabe am Tisch hats verstanden :)) und nicht bündig eingeschenkt hinterlassen schon nen Nachgeschmack, Daher 2 Punkte Abzug. Bisschen arg rustikale Bedienung,(Chefin war wieder freundlich und hat bitte und danke im allgemeinen Sprachgebrauch.) allerdings kann natürlich niemand aus seiner Haut raus.man sollte den Gästen aber nie das gefühl geben nachmittags, dass der Tisch gleich gebraucht wird.

Sind zum Mittagessen hier gewesen. Man muss schon etwas Zeit mitbringen, aber es lohnt. sich auf jeden Fall. Typisch Schwäbische Küche. Von Einheimischen wurde uns im Vorfeld empfohlen zu reservieren, was wir auch getan haben. Die Gaststätte ist nicht sehr groß und verfügt auch über Sitzplätze im Außenbereich. Unser Essen war sehr lecker und die Portionen waren ziemlich groß. Das Personal war sehr nett und zum Schluss gab es auch noch einen Schnaps. Wir werden wieder einkehren wenn wir in der Nähe sind.

Haben heute 3 Portionen Martinsganz mit 2 Riesenknödel, Rotkraut und Bratapfel und Marroni abgeholt. Es waren mega lecker......und wir müssen heute Abend weiteressen, diese Portionen waren nicht zum schaffen. Es war wie immer super lecker. Vielen Dank Frau Fuchs, wir holen wieder, versprochen.

Eten was zeer goed. Bij de gerechten krijg je voldoende rauwkost. Wordt met aandacht gemaakt. Voordeel is dat volgens mij dit een lokale sociale functie heeft. Keuken is hierdoor ook wat later open dan anderen in de omgeving. Zeker de moeite waard om lekker en voordelig te eten.
