We had reserved a table for a group of four weeks ago and were actually looking forward to a pleasant evening. Unfortunately, it began with the most unprofessional and rude reception I've ever experienced in a restaurant. I arrived first and was asked by a friendly lady at the entrance to take a seat at a table right by the bar to wait for my group. Seconds later, the rest of us arrived – and we were immediately approached by a woman with black hair and a black suit who was obviously in charge of the organization. Her tone was condescending from the start: She repeatedly asked me aggressively who "had even put me in that seat," as if I had just sat there arrogantly. Even though I explained to her that the lady at the front desk had seated me there and had even brought me a menu, she continued to react with complete disbelief and anger. I didn't want to criticize the receptionist in this situation, as her supervisor was obviously very upset – but this kind of treatment of guests is absolutely unacceptable. Additionally, she asked me in an annoyed and rude tone, "Did you even make a reservation?!" – and even after we confirmed it, she checked our reservation in a decidedly arrogant manner. Finally, she came back, reprimanded me as if I had misbehaved, and made it clear to us that we would have to settle for the seat right by the bar and the entrance door. I eat out very often – from small snack bars to highly regarded, renowned restaurants – and I know how to behave. However, never in my life have I been greeted with such an incredibly condescending and rude attitude. It's a shame, because the food itself is truly excellent (albeit a bit overpriced, in my opinion), and another server – a very friendly lady who looked after us attentively throughout the entire evening – did a fantastic job. Her service was impeccable!!! But: The disastrous reception unfortunately cast a lasting shadow over the evening. Good food and friendly service can't compensate for such a start. For what you pay here, you'll not only get better value for money at other locations in Frankfurt, but above all, much more respectful and professional service. We're certain: We won't be visiting this restaurant again and unfortunately can't recommend it to anyone.

Prices can be on the higher side, but they match the level of experience and attention to detail. A great place for a special night out in Frankfurt!

We drove all the way from Nuremberg to Zenzakan for a birthday – it was worth it. A young gentleman served us – super friendly, very attentive. Recommend: Lamb's lettuce with truffle, tuna tartare. Meat platter for two, with lamb chop, Wagyu…

Dining at Zenzakan in Frankfurt was an exceptional experience from beginning to end. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between stylish and vibrant, creating an ideal setting for an evening of fine dining. We enjoyed a wide selection of dishes from sushi and carpaccio to the Wagyu Katsu Sando, short rib, duck, and lamb. Each plate was beautifully presented and rich in flavor. The sushi was fresh and refined, the carpaccio tender and delicately seasoned, while the Wagyu Katsu Sando stood out as a true highlight juicy, rich, and melt in the mouth delicious. The short rib was slow cooked to perfection with deep, savory notes. Both the lamb and the duck impressed with their tenderness the lamb especially delicate, and the duck a delight to wrap in pancakes, turning each roll into a small celebration at the table. The service was attentive, professional, and welcoming, enhancing the overall dining experience. Combined with the sophisticated yet lively atmosphere, Zenzakan clearly ranks among Frankfurt’s top destinations for a memorable night out. Highly recommended

We ate superb sushi. The ambiance was first-class, and I've never had such high-quality and delicious sushi anywhere else. I would definitely recommend it. We were there in a group of five. I would reserve a table on weekends just to be on the safe side.

Eating there is an experience in itself, and the food is mostly very good! Unfortunately, I do have a few criticisms: There aren't really any vegetarian options, especially for the main courses. In my opinion, that's outdated. And I had also announced this beforehand... After the sushi and dessert were served so extravagantly, I honestly would have expected the same for the grill platter for €140 for two. It was beautifully served with some vegetables and fries. Instead, every side dish had to be ordered separately. The service staff also seems to have received at least no traditional training, as everything was served haphazardly across the table. It's not a big deal, but it was noticeable...

Snobby place... sorry, but they only let people eat there who suit them. We went there spontaneously on a weekday and wanted something to eat. We were turned away because we didn't have a reservation, even though half the place was empty. In retrospect, I'm grateful I didn't leave my money at a place like that.

First of all, the ambiance is really great. Regarding the service, I find it completely unacceptable that you can't reach the restaurant by phone. For example, I wanted to order Peking duck in advance. But if no one answers the phone, how is that possible? I'm sorry, I really didn't expect that. You can call any kebab shop and order your two kebab boxes, but here, that's not possible—sorry, that's not possible at all. About the food: The starters were really, really delicious. While the prices are obviously quite high, it's definitely worth trying something unusual and unusual. Regarding the prices of the drinks, you should be aware that it's going to be expensive. Just look at the bill. The food itself was very tasty. Except that I had to pay three euros for 20g of mayo and then another three euros separately. I find that really sick! As if they have such serious money problems that they charge such crazy prices for a mayo, especially when you've ordered food worth several hundred euros. We won't be coming here anymore. For those prices, I'd like to try some other places.

On our son's recommendation, we went to Zenzakan for our wedding anniversary. It was wonderful. Great food, a competent sommelier, and we'd be happy to go back.

It doesn't live up to the social media hype. Peking duck for €100? Was it tasty? Was it anything special? No! Was the service anything special? No! The ambiance is very nice, but unfortunately, the value for money isn't good. Rightfully so, it hasn't been given a star for years.

A true experience – stylish ambiance, excellent service, and incredibly delicious sushi. Everything was fresh, creatively presented, and of the highest quality. The service was consistently attentive and friendly. If you love Asian cuisine, this is the place to be. A definite recommendation.

Apart from the table assignment, our experience was excellent. I don't know the lady's name, but she had black hair and was at the reception desk during our visit (August 2nd at 7:00 PM). She had a slightly passive-aggressive demeanor. When we politely asked why our request to sit on a couch couldn't be fulfilled despite booking four weeks ago (with a note), the lady responded in a slightly aggressive tone and said that not every request could be fulfilled by note. We have unfortunately noticed this lady's behavior several times during past visits. Nevertheless, the food was excellent. The lamb chops were my personal highlight. The carpaccio was also excellent. The other dishes were also of a very high standard. Our service was also excellent. The lady had a very calm, relaxed manner and was still helpful with every request. The reception and the fact that we didn't get a couch despite booking four weeks ago are a real shame, but the food was, as I said, excellent. I'm from Vienna and will definitely visit Zenzakan again on my next stay in Frankfurt. Thank you very much!

We recently visited Zenzakan and would like to share our consistently positive impressions. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by the attentive cloakroom attendant, which provided a very pleasant start to the evening. The ambiance of the restaurant is truly impressive. The artfully arranged trees, stylish statues, and soft lighting create an extraordinary, atmospheric atmosphere that perfectly matches the concept of the restaurant. The appetizers were also delicious, with particular mention of the Chinese Truffled Beef Shumai Dumplings and the Wagyu Gyoza. Both dishes were exceptionally tasty. For our main course, we chose the Peking Duck, which was a real winner. The meat was tender, flavorful, and the skin wonderfully crispy. One minor criticism, however, concerns the duck side dishes. These were a bit limited for our taste, especially considering the price of €99. We would have appreciated a bit more generosity here. We would particularly like to highlight the friendly and competent service, who looked after us perfectly throughout the evening. The creative cocktails are also a real highlight. They are exceptional in both taste and presentation, making them rare to find in this form. The cuisine is absolutely appropriate for the price, and the food overall is phenomenal. Another highlight was dessert. We opted for a selection of all the desserts, which were presented spectacularly with bamboo elements and dry ice. The individual combination of various desserts and fresh fruit was a real experience not only visually but also taste-wise. All in all, we had a wonderful evening and would love to return.

Four of us went to Zenzakan to celebrate a birthday. The evening started off promisingly – the service in the restaurant was truly top-notch: attentive, friendly, and professional. High praise for that. Unfortunately, the food couldn't keep up with the service. The Wagyu sandwich was by far the best we were served that evening. The rest of the dishes were mediocre at best, and some were even disappointing. A complete no-go, however, was the valet service at the end of the evening: When I returned my car, the employee suddenly demanded €5 for parking. When I asked for a receipt, he explained that it was "based on a tip." I like to tip – I've done so in the restaurant, too – and would have given him something, too. But this kind of request was neither transparent nor professional. It leaves a very bad taste in my mouth. Conclusion: The restaurant deserves two stars for its ambiance and service. The food was disappointing, and the unpleasant ending with the valet service rounded off the evening on a negative note. For this price range, I expect considerably more.

A big disappointment for me as I was looking forward to the evening. I’ve been to many restaurants of MOOK group but not zenzakan, so the excitement and expectation were high. The atmosphere was nice like always. Food was way too expensive for what you got. Service was soso, she’s trying her best but still for the price I’m paying I of course expect more. Also for such a restaurant with so high price I think you guys really have to concern about DRESS CODE.. I was people walking with flip flop or a lady that almost naked 🤢 price was way too high compared to the portion and quality of food. For me Zenzakan was a been there done that… not recommend to anyone, spend your money where else. It’s not worth a visit here.

4.5⭐️ wow! Fantastic meat. The two of us ordered two different sushi combinations (Tuna Spicy Roll & Rainbow Roll) as well as gyoza for starters. Both were very tasty - the sushi wasn't too big either. For the main course, we had a selection for two people. The combination of lamb, rib-eye, and ox was excellent. Extremely tender and buttery - we didn't even need to use a knife. The sauces were delicious. The food was truly wonderful! The price isn't cheap, of course, but you don't go to a restaurant like this every day! Therefore, it's definitely recommended for a delicious meal.

We celebrated our son's 23rd birthday at Zenzakan yesterday, and I have to say, if I could award 10 stars, I would gladly do so. The food was outstanding, from appetizers to dessert. The ambiance is unbeatable and gets better with every visit. One lady deserves special mention, and that is the sommelier, Ms. Anne Hacke. I have never experienced such service anywhere else. Thank you so much for your incredible friendliness and expertise. We even got a short tour of the restaurant. You can tell she puts her heart and soul into it. You completed a perfect evening.

The place looks very nice, but finding it was difficult. Then, for the usual service on a Monday, we had to wait a long time for a server to come. We had to wait just as long for the food, but that's all understandable. However, the sushi wasn't tasty at all, so bad that we both threw up afterward. The correction took a full 20 minutes, which significantly spoiled the overall impression. At a restaurant in this price range, I expect not only culinary quality, but also professional and attentive service – unfortunately, that wasn't the case here.

Perfect Place to enjoy pan asian food. The beef is perfect prepared and also the seafood is quite good. There is only one comment from my side regarding the lobster. Actually, the grilled lobster is served with Rice and Curry sauce. For cutting a piece from the lobster, there is no chance to avoid, that the piece get in Touch with the Curry sauce. That destroys the fantastic Taste of its own from the lobster. Maybe worth for the cook team to think about a new/ changed lobster menu. A very good extra service is the offered valet parking. You stop the car infront of the Ivory Club (Excellent indian dining) and the service staff take over the car. It's for free but a tip is expected of course. To reach the place with the car for valet parking is a bit tricky. The mentioned address (Taunusanlage 15) leads you not to the entrance of the Ivory Club. You have to drive into the Guiollett street (One way). For interested people: if you order wine, then only bottles are offered starting with 100 Euro and more. Champagne starting from 150 Euro (Just sparkling wine is not offered). Cocktails from 18 - 25 Euro) All in all a very nice place. My special thanks to Yan. It was a pleasure to be attended by this nice lady.

The atmosphere of this restaurant is outstanding—the decor is elegant and eye-catching, creating a truly immersive dining experience. The food was exceptional overall, with beautifully crafted dishes and rich flavors. However, there was a slight inconsistency with the sushi rice; a few of the nigiri pieces had undercooked rice, which affected the texture. That said, the taste of the food was still delightful. The service, unfortunately, fell below expectations. The waitress serving our table seemed rushed and anxious throughout. In the middle of taking our order, she left abruptly to present dishes to another table. I sincerely hope the management looks into this, as the restaurant has so much potential to offer a complete and polished experience that reflects its beautiful atmosphere and high culinary standards.

Very good food in an extravagant ambience

By far the best fine dining experience in Frankfurt This restaurant combines fine dining, first-class service, and a perfect ambiance in an impressive way. Each dish is thoughtfully designed and captivates with creative combinations that go far beyond standard fare. The fish and meat dishes, in particular, are masterfully prepared and perfectly cooked. Of course, this level of quality comes at a price, but I think you should treat yourself to something like this at least once. For special occasions, this restaurant is definitely a top choice!

The ambiance is great, but the rest isn't up to scratch. The price-to-value ratio is simply not right. €10 for a bottle of water and the main courses are also significantly overpriced and do not reflect the quality offered, as some of the dishes were overseasoned, and I actually like spicy food... Sad, but there are much better restaurants. The hype is absolutely unjustified.

Waiters who don't know what wine they're bringing—first it's Spanish, then Italian. Guests and staff also seem similar; the bouncer types from the protection racket were all too obvious last night.

One of the best dining experiences

We went to Zenzakan for the first time tonight for our anniversary. We had made a reservation in advance and were warmly welcomed at reception. We could choose whether we wanted to sit outside or inside. We opted for the inside area. Everything was very well-kept, modern, and beautifully decorated. The food was 10/10, whether it was the starter, main course, or dessert. Everything was perfect. The service was very attentive; someone was always coming by to check if everything was okay or if we needed anything else. A top-notch restaurant and always worth a visit.

The food at Zenzakan was truly outstanding overall – especially the beef carpaccio, an absolute 10/10! Much of the flavor was of a very high standard, but most of the sauces had a bit too much of a kick for my taste – often very sweet, strongly umami, heavily reliant on hoisin. Sometimes less would have been more. The ambiance was okay, but the lighting was a bit too dim, and it was still quite loud. The prices were rather high, but understandable considering the quality. All in all, a pleasant experience – I would go back.

The food was so delicious; I've never eaten such tender and delicious lamb chops. I'm a real lamb lover, but this meat blew me away. How well prepared and high-quality were the lamb chops? And the sushi was also very, very good, and I would have loved to have the recipe for the Char Sui Chicken; the marinade was simply delicious! For dessert, there was cheesecake, but not like the kind we used to get from Grandma's, but soft and warm and simply delicious. The ambiance is very chic, and the guests are very friendly. For these prices, you get truly top-notch food that not only tastes good but is also filling in portions. I will be coming here again! Definitely recommend it!

The outdoor chairs were beyond uncomfortable and looked like cheap patio furniture from a discount store. The service was extremely poor. The waiters were a complete disaster; they had no business being in that profession. The food was good, but far too expensive for what it was.

The meat is exceedingly tender and a flavor explosion in the mouth. I highly recommend the Wagyu Katsu sandwich and the Tomahawk Lamb Chops.

The entire evening was a thoroughly positive and enjoyable experience. From the warm welcome, to the wonderful and unique ambiance, to the expert and excellent advice on food and drinks – especially the wine – to the quality of everything. The team on site is very friendly, professional, and helpful. A truly fantastic experience! I highly recommend it!

The food was truly excellent, but the service was nowhere near up to par for a restaurant of this caliber. We sat for ages with empty glasses because our wine bottles were repeatedly cleared away, and no one refilled our glasses. We would have definitely spent even longer at Zenzakan that evening with our small group if we had been served. It's a shame, because the food was truly amazing!

Mixed feelings at Zenzakan. The ambiance is very nice. The food is beautifully presented; the arrangement with the bonsai trees is particularly pleasing to the eye. My Thai curry with lobster tail, however, wasn't a hit in terms of taste. It was good, but that was it. Despite the visibly fresh ingredients, it lacked a hint of freshness. The curry was too inert. I can do better at home. The lobster tail, however, was a delicious topping. The service is polite, but on this evening it was lost or scattered. If we had to wait over 20 minutes for a €22 cocktail and only waited for a reminder, then that's not commensurate with the price. There were also no cigars in stock, but that's what we expect when this restaurant has such a beautiful smoking lounge. The service would have been better if the restaurant had sent someone to organize cigars. Small snacks, nuts, olives, or something similar, which would have rounded off our evening, which ended in the smoking lounge, were also missing. The evening at Zenzakan was nice because we made it nice, but my expectations of this Mook Group restaurant were perhaps simply too high in terms of service.

We had a reservation for 9 p.m. and stayed until midnight – everything went smoothly and smoothly. At just under €1,000 for four people, it certainly wasn't a cheap evening, but it was absolutely fair for the quality, ambiance, and overall experience. A clear recommendation for special occasions or upscale business dinners.

I was unfortunately disappointed with my visit to Sensacan. The food was okay overall, but the fries were very dry and tasteless. When I politely pointed this out to the server at the end of the evening, there was no apology or interest, just a flippant "Yeah, okay." For a restaurant of this category, I would have preferred more professionalism and customer service. I was also negatively impressed by the way the valet parking was handled: Last time, I tipped the employee €10 (even though the service actually costs €5). This time, he took the €10 for granted and refused to give me change, even though I only wanted to pay €8. Here, too, an unpleasant tone and a lack of cooperation. Overall, the atmosphere was rather disappointing due to such incidents. It's a shame, because the concept had potential – but the service that evening was unfortunately not up to the level expected.

We stopped in for lunch and I immediately noticed the stunning interior - stylish, modern and very cozy. The atmosphere really encourages a pleasant stay. For starters, we chose a variety of dishes: the freshest sushi and sashimi, shrimp tempura and spicy lobster dumplings. The latter were especially memorable - the filling was tender and bright in taste. For the main course, I chose robata chicken with truffle - it turned out to be a real discovery and, perhaps, became my favorite. We also tried beef with velvety black pepper - the dish was perfectly balanced. The service deserves special praise: the staff was very attentive and friendly. The restaurant is conveniently located in the center, not far from the Alte Oper, there is paid parking nearby. I will definitely come back again - the impressions were extremely positive!

Great service, great restaurant

The food and drinks were great. We had to speak to management about an unpleasant topic and were treated extremely rudely and disrespectfully. Hence only one star.

We recently had the pleasure of spending an evening together at Zenzakan in Frankfurt – and it was a truly top-notch experience. From the stylish ambience to the attentive service to the quality of the food, everything was simply perfect. The atmosphere is impressive: sophisticated, modern, yet with a pleasant, relaxing touch. The service was excellent – ​​attentive, friendly, and at the same time pleasantly unobtrusive. We were thoroughly spoiled from a culinary perspective. I would particularly like to emphasize the variety and sophistication of the dishes. Only the steak tartare wasn't quite to my personal taste – but that wasn't due to the quality at all. It was well-seasoned, fresh, and expertly prepared. In this case, it just wasn't 100% for me. All in all, a thoroughly successful evening in a restaurant that absolutely deserves its reputation. We'll definitely be back!

We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary at Zenzakan. The service and food were incredibly good. We'd come back anytime! Thank you for this wonderful evening!

The food at Zenzakan was truly delicious – high quality, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, our positive impression was marred by the service. The young waitress seemed pushy and uncomprehending when we didn't want an appetizer – a decision that guests should be able to make without any need for explanation. This kind of behavior irritated us and negatively impacted the entire experience. We found it particularly disappointing that when paying by card, you're apparently forced to enter a tip. Pressing "€0" several times didn't work – in the end, we were forced to enter €1, even though we consciously wanted to forgo it in this case. I'm usually very generous with tips, but it just wasn't appropriate here. Conclusion: One visit and never again – a shame, because the food really deserved more.

Although the restaurant has been on the market for a long time, you are not getting worse but better and better 🏆

The food tasted very good – no question about it. Unfortunately, this positive impression was severely tarnished by the poor service. Given the prices charged here, one would expect considerably more attentiveness and professionalism. Water wasn't poured, the wine simply remained on the table after opening, and there was barely a question about whether everything was OK. Overall, the service in no way reflected the high prices. This was unfortunately disappointing and not in keeping with the establishment's standards.

The food was fantastic and the service was courteous. My family and I enjoyed it very much. Thank you for the lovely evening.

The appetizers were excellent – ​​the sushi and shrimp in particular were delicious. The mixed meat platters for two were also good, even if the meat didn't quite meet my personal expectations – but that's a matter of taste, so no points deducted. The service was very friendly, but at times a bit overwhelmed. You occasionally had to wait until someone noticed you to reorder drinks or something similar. The appetizers, on the other hand, came very quickly. The ambiance is stylish, a bit too dark for my taste – but still: absolutely worth a visit! It's not a cheap restaurant in terms of price, but it is upscale – and that's reflected in the quality and atmosphere. You simply have to experience it for yourself.

Our evening at Zensakan left us with mixed feelings. Here are my thoughts. What we liked: "Just" a side dish, although the wasabi fries have stuck in my mind to this day. Incredible flavor, with a fantastic wasabi spice. Very tasty lamb chops! Wonderful lobster curry. And then, of course, the sushi/sashimi, which stands out not only for its taste, but also for its sensational presentation. Zensakan is relatively dark, but very cozy with couches inside. Admittedly, you have to like it. I found it very, very relaxed. Despite all the praise, we were also really disappointed by some things, especially given our expectations and the price range. The service was poor—unfortunately, it has to be said so harshly and clearly. The waitresses were always very curt, unable to speak about the dishes/drinks, and plates and drinks were handed over instead of being served properly. I simply expected more here. We were also really surprised by the dessert. Both the creme brûlée and the cheesecake were not tasty – and none of the four people at the table enjoyed them. The brûlée was cold and flavorless, the cheesecake was spongy and unspectacular. For a restaurant with this name, this level of sophistication, and especially in this price range, I expect at least a commitment to perfection in all areas. The main courses and the sushi are undoubtedly of exceptional quality, but in my opinion, this quality is overshadowed by the negative factors mentioned above, which then linger.

Fantastic food! But: The worst service of my life. Where has she worked before? Certainly not in the restaurant industry. Who throws dessert spoons across the table, for example? Ambience: Constant cold draft (possibly bad air conditioning?), questionable clientele. For the prices, you usually get friendly, trained service and a comfortable seating experience. We definitely won't be back.
