The food and drinks were great. We had to speak to management about an unpleasant topic and were treated extremely rudely and disrespectfully. Hence only one star.

We recently had the pleasure of spending an evening together at Zenzakan in Frankfurt – and it was a truly top-notch experience. From the stylish ambience to the attentive service to the quality of the food, everything was simply perfect. The atmosphere is impressive: sophisticated, modern, yet with a pleasant, relaxing touch. The service was excellent – ​​attentive, friendly, and at the same time pleasantly unobtrusive. We were thoroughly spoiled from a culinary perspective. I would particularly like to emphasize the variety and sophistication of the dishes. Only the steak tartare wasn't quite to my personal taste – but that wasn't due to the quality at all. It was well-seasoned, fresh, and expertly prepared. In this case, it just wasn't 100% for me. All in all, a thoroughly successful evening in a restaurant that absolutely deserves its reputation. We'll definitely be back!

Been there twice, always top, one of the best I know.

We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary at Zenzakan. The service and food were incredibly good. We'd come back anytime! Thank you for this wonderful evening!

The food at Zenzakan was truly delicious – high quality, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, our positive impression was marred by the service. The young waitress seemed pushy and uncomprehending when we didn't want an appetizer – a decision that guests should be able to make without any need for explanation. This kind of behavior irritated us and negatively impacted the entire experience. We found it particularly disappointing that when paying by card, you're apparently forced to enter a tip. Pressing "€0" several times didn't work – in the end, we were forced to enter €1, even though we consciously wanted to forgo it in this case. I'm usually very generous with tips, but it just wasn't appropriate here. Conclusion: One visit and never again – a shame, because the food really deserved more.

Although the restaurant has been on the market for a long time, you are not getting worse but better and better 🏆

The food tasted very good – no question about it. Unfortunately, this positive impression was severely tarnished by the poor service. Given the prices charged here, one would expect considerably more attentiveness and professionalism. Water wasn't poured, the wine simply remained on the table after opening, and there was barely a question about whether everything was OK. Overall, the service in no way reflected the high prices. This was unfortunately disappointing and not in keeping with the establishment's standards.

The appetizers were excellent – ​​the sushi and shrimp in particular were delicious. The mixed meat platters for two were also good, even if the meat didn't quite meet my personal expectations – but that's a matter of taste, so no points deducted. The service was very friendly, but at times a bit overwhelmed. You occasionally had to wait until someone noticed you to reorder drinks or something similar. The appetizers, on the other hand, came very quickly. The ambiance is stylish, a bit too dark for my taste – but still: absolutely worth a visit! It's not a cheap restaurant in terms of price, but it is upscale – and that's reflected in the quality and atmosphere. You simply have to experience it for yourself.

Our evening at Zensakan left us with mixed feelings. Here are my thoughts. What we liked: "Just" a side dish, although the wasabi fries have stuck in my mind to this day. Incredible flavor, with a fantastic wasabi spice. Very tasty lamb chops! Wonderful lobster curry. And then, of course, the sushi/sashimi, which stands out not only for its taste, but also for its sensational presentation. Zensakan is relatively dark, but very cozy with couches inside. Admittedly, you have to like it. I found it very, very relaxed. Despite all the praise, we were also really disappointed by some things, especially given our expectations and the price range. The service was poor—unfortunately, it has to be said so harshly and clearly. The waitresses were always very curt, unable to speak about the dishes/drinks, and plates and drinks were handed over instead of being served properly. I simply expected more here. We were also really surprised by the dessert. Both the creme brûlée and the cheesecake were not tasty – and none of the four people at the table enjoyed them. The brûlée was cold and flavorless, the cheesecake was spongy and unspectacular. For a restaurant with this name, this level of sophistication, and especially in this price range, I expect at least a commitment to perfection in all areas. The main courses and the sushi are undoubtedly of exceptional quality, but in my opinion, this quality is overshadowed by the negative factors mentioned above, which then linger.

Fantastic food! But: The worst service of my life. Where has she worked before? Certainly not in the restaurant industry. Who throws dessert spoons across the table, for example? Ambience: Constant cold draft (possibly bad air conditioning?), questionable clientele. For the prices, you usually get friendly, trained service and a comfortable seating experience. We definitely won't be back.

The service also left nothing to be desired. John deserves special mention; he is undoubtedly the best waiter Frankfurt has to offer. With his charming manner, attentive service, and a keen sense for each guest, he makes you feel immediately comfortable and welcome.

Very nice restaurant with good service and a very appealing menu. Unfortunately, there was no Wagyu on our visit, but lamb chops, short ribs, lobster, sushi, and bao buns were good alternatives. The other classic Pan-Asian dishes were also impressive. We had a very pleasant evening, although the flavor of the sauces, in particular, was very in-your-face and almost too intense. A visit is highly recommended. Due to a lack of dishes, I recommend asking for Wagyu toast and Peking duck when making your reservation. They are not available by phone.

The reception in this stylish establishment already gave us a good idea: without a reservation, we were given a table for two in the evening - a rare but welcome exception in fine dining. The access to the outside area via a charmingly designed staircase was a harmonious start, but we consciously decided to go inside the house. An elegantly furnished guest room awaited us there with a tasteful design and subdued lighting, which created a wonderfully quiet, almost romantic atmosphere - ideal for an enjoyable dinner for two. The service was attentive but unobtrusive - just as you would expect in this price range. Our order: A Robata mix Grill Extravaganza Royal platter for two, consisting of high-quality ox, Wagyu and lamb, with garlic-onion rice and crispy fries as side dishes, rounded off by two non-alcoholic cocktails. The meat was convincing across the board: tender as butter, perfectly cooked, with an intense aroma that, in combination with a Japanese BBQ sauce, offered a true taste experience. The Wagyu in particular was of excellent quality and literally melted in the mouth. The side dishes were more than just accompaniments - the rice was spicy, the fries were perfectly fried. Conclusion: An all-round harmonious experience that was convincing both in terms of cuisine and atmosphere. This restaurant is not only recommended - it is a real insider tip for connoisseurs who value quality, ambience and taste.

We came here to celebrate my birthday. The food was very good and the atmosphere was nice. But: We felt very rushed through the meal, plates were cleared away even though not all of them were finished. We were finished with the starter and main course after 50 minutes. So we took our time with dessert, which was beautifully decorated and came as a surprise. After paying we wanted to sit at the bar and have another cocktail. We were promised that we would let you know when a place was available. After waiting for over an hour without any notice despite repeated requests and no service, we finally ordered cocktails to the table, for which we had to wait another 40 minutes. There were several problems with the card reader when paying for the cocktails. When we paid in cash, we were asked if we could "round up" because they "had no change" - we found it a bit strange. We had the feeling that after paying for the first time we were completely uninterested, and so was the service. A very unpleasant end to my birthday party.

Das Ambiente ist erstklassig. Man muss wirklich sagen, dass dieses Restaurant in der Innenraumgestaltung seinesgleichen sucht. Aber man geht in ein Restaurant, um zu essen. Und hier muss man leider sagen, dass dies nur durchschnittlich war. Bei den Sushis hat man nicht an Mayonnaise gespart. Das Fleisch und das Gemüse schwamm im Öl. Frei nach dem Motto: Viel hilft viel. Aber in der japanischen Küche ist das nicht so. Es gibt keine offenen Weine auf der Karte. Man soll für mehrere hundert Euro eine Flasche nehmen. Generell sind die Getränke völlig überteuert. Eine nicht etikettierte Flasche stilles Wasser kostet 10 EUR. Trotz Reservierung mussten wir 30 min auf unseren Tisch an der Bar warten, wo wir nicht bedient wurden. Der Barkeeper schaute nur und tat beschäftigt. Die Bedienung am Tisch war auch nicht die Schnellste. Wir hätten für diese Preiskategorie deutlich mehr erwartet. Zusammenfassend gibt es keine Empfehlung. Dieses Restaurant ist für Leute, die nicht viel Ahnung von japanischem Essen haben, aber angeben wollen, dass sie im Zenzakan waren. Genau dieses Publikum trifft man dort. Es gibt deutlich bessere japanische Restaurants in Frankfurt.

A truly fabulous restaurant. Every single detail was perfect. The food is excellent and unrivaled, the selection of drinks is top, the wait staff were all courteous and with a genuine smile and the ambience is also absolutely harmonious and classy.

Es ist kein Zufall, dass wir Stammgäste im Zenzakan sind. Die Qualität der Speisen ist wirklich gut und obwohl wir so unsere Lieblingsgerichte haben, freuen wir uns trotzdem jedes Mal, wenn es etwas Neues und Kreatives auf der Speisekarte gibt. Einen schönen Gruß an euren Barkeeper: der Porn-Star Martini ist einer der besten, den wir je getrunken haben (und wir kommen wirklich ganz schon viel herum auf der Welt). Das Ambiente ist auch richtig schön, aber das absolute Highlight sind der Service und das gesamte Personal, die wirklich kontinuierlich einsame Spitze sind: so freundlich, zuvorkommend und aufmerksam, wir fühlen uns jedes Mal aufs Neue wieder herzlich willkommen, vielen herzlichen Dank dafür!

Overall the food was excellent. You can try the Wagyu toast once, but I wouldn't order it again - it's not worth the price in my opinion. The sushi, lamb, ox and shrimp were of a very high standard. I was particularly impressed by the carpaccio – highly recommended! The ambience is a solid 10 out of 10. What bothered me personally was that the food was served too quickly. Despite a large order, we were ready after just 35 minutes.

Beautiful ambience with stylish, slightly dark furnishings and a modern Asian touch. You immediately feel comfortable and welcome. The atmosphere is lively but not too loud – perfect for special occasions. The food? Absolutely outstanding. The Wagyu toast was the highlight of the evening – tender, flavorful and perfectly prepared. The lamb chops, the US prime rib, the carpaccio and the truffle spinach were also top quality. One of the best things I've ever tasted. The service was top – very friendly, attentive and extremely fast. Drinks and food came without a long wait. In the end there was a small misunderstanding with the bill (wrong table), but that was immediately resolved professionally - including an apology and free drinks. Very customer oriented! Yes, the restaurant is more expensive - but that's exactly what you expect and you'll be rewarded with quality at the highest level. Conclusion: If you want to treat yourself or celebrate a special event, this is the right place for you. Absolute recommendation!

Food was great - service could be a little more attentive - upscale ambience - also in the price

The four of us paid around 600 euros. The food was of high quality, but was sometimes only served lukewarm or even cold - which is disappointing at these prices. As a wheelchair user, I tried for weeks to reach the restaurant by phone. I was informed on site that the phone was defective and that a new one had not been purchased yet. In my opinion, this is incomprehensible for a restaurant of this class. The ambience is stylish, but far too dark. I have observed several times how guests had to use cell phone lights to illuminate their menus. Overall, a mixed impression - a lot of potential, but also clear weaknesses that shouldn't be there at the prices quoted.

Away from the mainstream, if you have a credit card. Everything has its price, but you should treat yourself.

Good, friendly service. Good wine list and advice. Really good cocktails. Unfortunately, the taste of the food is absolutely inferior compared to other Japanese restaurants in the city. The Thai curry in particular is inedible and only tastes like lemongrass. But that's personal taste. Overall, the food was a really bad price/performance ratio. Unfortunately, the much praised name does not reflect the performance that one would and should expect - especially at this price level. Unfortunately no recommendation.

I was expecting the food to be great given the popularity and price of the restaurant but it was nothing special. I’ve had similar and also much better food for much better price. The food is not bad but could be much more extraordinary. Plus, even though the room was quite empty, the lady rolled her eyes when I asked her for a second suggestion. For this price the service should be exquisite, especially when the room is empty and she doesn’t have much to do. The positive is really the atmosphere and restaurant room itself.

Food really good in and of itself, but estimated 80% meat and 20% vegetables. It gave me the impression that you wanted to stretch the food with more and more peppers so that you could eat a whole plate. And the employee who allocates the seats is unfortunately not friendly at all. Ideally, someone with appropriate training should be used for this!

We've been to Zenzakan many times and are always impressed by the selection and quality of the food. The service has always been top-notch, too! When confirming our online reservation, however, they now communicate a dress code: no sportswear, sweatpants, baseball caps, tank tops, sleeveless shirts, cross-body bags... What time are we living in?! Not that I'd necessarily want to wear that, but with the amount of money I've already spent there, I'd like to be able to decide for myself what I wear. And I don't care at all what the people at the next table are wearing, as long as they're not misbehaving otherwise. Friendliness and table manners are far more important to me than their clothes. So, two points deducted from the overall rating. And I'm considering making another reservation there. There are plenty of other restaurants in Frankfurt where you have more freedom.

It was the second visit for me and the first for my girlfriend and the kids - and they were just as excited as I was. It was a wonderful evening, even if it got off to a bit of a bumpy start. There were four of us with a dog and we had already stated this when making the reservation. Nevertheless, we were initially assigned a table directly at the entrance to the kitchen. Our dog was lying comfortably at the end of the table - but exactly where the service staff had to constantly pass and almost tripped over him. Out of consideration for the employees and our dog, we asked for another table. Unfortunately, the lady in charge reacted quite snippily with the comment that “the dog could be lying somewhere else”. After a short but polite discussion, we were finally offered a new table - and from that moment on a truly dream evening began. The food was simply divine, and the service was outstanding: extremely courteous, polite, attentive and honest advice - without the feeling that anything was being forced on us. On the contrary, it was even recommended to us that a sushi menu for two people would be completely sufficient. Conclusion: an all-round perfect evening that we will definitely repeat. Of course, quality has its price - and yes, the Zenzakan is in a price class of its own. But anyone who comes here knows this and gets every cent back with exceptional quality and service. A special highlight: our dog Bobby was also royally looked after. We were even offered several times to bring him something good if he was hungry. Thank you again for this wonderful evening - we will definitely be back, also with Bobby!

The food is really great! You have to be willing to pay the price, but then it's great. Unfortunately, the service is completely out of step with the cuisine. You're not guided through the menu; they seem rather stressed. The food and drinks are simply placed on the table without comment. I expect something different from a restaurant that has such high standards. Especially at that price. Simply poor training. Because we were too early for our reservation, we were simply sent away instead of being given a seat at the bar for a few minutes with a couple of drinks. You can't pay separately, which just doesn't allow for more time. I would come back for the food anytime, but unfortunately the service prevents that.

Sehr schönes Ambiente und Küche, sehr empfehlenswert. Allerdings ist es eher dunkel und Tischleuchten gibt es nur auf Anforderung und Verfügbarkeit? Die Musikauswahl war ok, allerdings lief immer ein Diskorythmus mit, das war störend und passte auch nicht zum Ambiente. Schließlich wurde bei der Reservierung und Bestätigung auf angemessene Kleidung hingewiesen, was auch angebracht ist. Leider scheint das nicht immer beachtet, aber auch nicht beanstandet zu werden. Dass der Opa sich durch das Tragen einer Basecap zum Affen macht, ist seine Sache, es passt halt leider nicht zum Anspruch des Restaurants. Das gilt auch für die T-Shirt Träger. Schade!

We ate there yesterday and the atmosphere was nice. The food was good. The sommelier got annoyed pretty quickly because they didn't like the first and second wine straight away. But unfortunately I expect a professional to be patient, especially in this price range! The waitress who was responsible for us forgot about us in between and only poured us new wine after we asked. Two dishes ordered for the main course were only brought after we asked. There you can't pay separately; one person has to pay for everything. For this price range I expect good service, unfortunately we didn't receive that.

This was my first time in Germany and I really enjoyed this restaurant. My friends and I wiped our plates. From the drinks to the food, everything was top tier. The bartender Niko was so nice to us, he made our drinks so well. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever had drinks that good. So far, Germany has been top on my list when it comes to good cuisines.

Today, Saturday, we are guests here. The restaurant is very nice, cool location and our waiter is very friendly and attentive. The food was really very tasty, we had 4 different starters, all very good and the main course, fish and meat, also very good. For dessert there was a dessert variation😍 Nothing can be said about the food, it was really delicious!!! I would still have a small criticism, however, whether one is for one “handful” of rice (as a side dish) 9€, for a coke €5 and for one I don't know if you have to charge €10 for a bottle of water. Personally, I think it's too overpriced and a bit of a shame😔 because otherwise the restaurant is really recommended and worth a visit. We had a nice evening 😊

Starting with the ambience, which doesn't suit my personal taste, we were greeted politely and brought to a seat promptly. For starters we had wontons (which I understand were anything but wontons) and sushi, which was pretty good. The highlight, the meat dish main courses. I particularly enjoyed the Teriyaki King Ora Salmon and the Lamb Chops. Nothing wrong with the taste and almost fair for the high price.

Very attentive and courteous service, even our little puppy was looked after like a king. It was all around a perfect evening with the family. Thanks to the entire team.

It's ok, but very dark, loud and expensive

I visit Zenzakan regularly as I really like the food and the atmosphere is appealing. Unfortunately, I noticed that the reception was becoming more and more arrogant and rude. It seems like people there think that you can indulge in anything given the store's current popularity. While the service was okay overall and the food tasted good as usual, the first impression of the reception always leaves a bad aftertaste. Instead of welcoming guests in a friendly manner, the reception staff give the impression that they are something better. A certain attitude may be part of a trendy store, but here it turns into arrogance. It's a shame, because a restaurant not only lives from good food, but also from how guests are treated. Maybe management should think about whether they will remain successful in the long term if they behave like this towards their guests.

The gentleman at reception is just embarrassing. In a place like this (even if it's so cheap) the man at the reception should be friendlier. It feels like he is the king and not the customer. Food top, service top and also the ambience top. The gentleman should look for a new job if he is too good for this one. For two people, you don't expect too much for over 400 euros. Or?????

Good, but I have to justify the -3 stars 1) there were 3 of us but the waitress didn't ask me which side dish I wanted, leaving me sad for the rest of the evening, I probably won't sleep tonight. 2) The lobster was supposed to be 130g but apparently mine had discovered the dissociating diet because she had lost so much weight. 3) today they turn around at random.

Probably one of the most expensive place in Europe to have alcohol. I travelled all over Europe and visited many bars. Nothing compares to the costs of their drinks. It is straight up highway robbery. I paid 20 Euros for a small glass of Aperol Spritz. I’ve had dinners all over Europe for less. Take your money elsewhere unless you like to pay triple above the average price for alcohol.

I don't really like writing reviews but it has to be here. The price-performance ratio is absolutely unbalanced. The food tastes really average. Partly unseasoned. I found it really unfortunate. The Wagyu Gyoza in particular are not recommended for the price. We will visit Moriki next time.

Food sensational - service underground The Zenzakan - a restaurant that has a great reputation. But as always, it is important to take the opinion of the masses with a grain of salt, because as we all know, we all have different standards. We stood at one of the two main entrances full of anticipation, as we were assured afterwards. Here the underground service has shown itself at its best. An employee of the restaurant, not the gatekeeper, who was at the entrance exactly when we arrived, did not let us in at this entrance. In the pouring rain, even though we had told him about our reservation, he asked us to walk around the building and use the other entrance. It was probably because I didn't wear a VVS chain, didn't drive up in a Lambo and didn't stick my Rolex to my forehead. But that's the classic. The human psyche often plays tricks on unstable personalities & so some who work in a posh business think they are now something very special. Once inside, the little dark, short-haired lady behind the reception desk topped it all off. Basically, when a guest comes in, you greet them. And don't wait until he comes to the counter, looks at you and greets you to make it known that he's there. Here the initiative must always lie with the house, no matter how interesting the conversation with the colleague may be. This is the service 1x1. At this point she couldn't get her teeth apart or take them out to dry. A minimal smile & a simple “Good evening” from her would have done it for me. She responded to my greeting, my LAST NAME and the time of the reservation in a dry, cool tone with: "[First name], hand your jackets over there & then I'll bring you to the table." I seem to have missed the fact that I was playing in the sandpit with this young lady. She certainly didn't just come to the narrow board like that. I won't go into the synergy between the snooty and arrogance of her facial expressions at this point. Probably a relative of the one who left us running around in the rain. Same shot human. The young lady who accepted the jackets knew how to do this properly. She greeted us warmly and was genuinely interested in being nice to us. Cheers! Arriving at the table, accompanied by my sandpit friend, who was passionate about the job, we finally sat down after this miserable start. The cards arrived quickly and the service was attentive. With room for improvement, but with the bar set by her colleague at reception, she stood out in a particularly good light. Sometimes it's enough to be in the right place at the right time. And that even though she cleared away clean cutlery and left the dirty ones lying around. It's new to me that it works like that. She also forgot a drink. Sorry, but something like that shouldn't happen in such a posh restaurant! We chose our dishes, looked through the slightly darkly lit restaurant, which is decorated in red, black and gold, and enjoyed the incredibly good acoustics. We were impressed by the music in the background, which was just so loud that you could have a normal conversation and at the same time not understand what was being said at other tables. The prices are somewhere between reasonable, cheeky & outrageous. If you're willing to pay a hefty fee for sensational food and can forgo the service at the same time, you've come to the right place. High culinary art. The food came quickly. The black gentleman who brought her was also extremely friendly and personable. The drinks? What a cheek. Big price, even bigger ice cubes. The amount of alcohol can be described as a swallow of spit. Bottomless. All in all quite nice. With better service I would see myself here more often. Kind of a real shame.

Zenzakan in Frankfurt offers an exceptional culinary experience, even if the prices are very high at around 200 euros per person. However, the food is worth every penny - especially the lamb chops, which are the best I've ever tasted, and the Wagyu toast were absolute highlights. The service in the restaurant itself was excellent: friendly, attentive and always trying to make sure everything was perfect. However, one star is deducted for the valet service. The leader was stressed, rude and disrespectful, which started the evening on a negative note. Overall a great restaurant with outstanding food - if the valet service was better it would have earned 5 stars.

The place is very dark and stylish. Sometimes it's very cool to sit. Service is friendly and committed. But you should expect more for the price range. Food was beautifully prepared. Yummy. In terms of price, I would say it is significantly too expensive. I can get similar food for half the price. Would like to spend a little more and drive up in style with Park Service. Gladly. I don't need it again. There are other restaurants with more content for the price.

That's my understanding of event gastronomy, in football, you would say, first place in the Champions League Incredibly nice staff, very accommodating, friendly and you are always addressed by name and even said goodbye. Reserve yourself. The food was intended exactly for the person who ordered it, really great, you experience it completely, until never! A lot has already been written about the quality of the food and there is nothing to add. It really is top notch. Disappointing and overpriced! The ambience was appealing, but the food couldn't do justice to the high prices - the taste was rather average. Although the service was friendly, our waiter didn't seem entirely professional, which is inappropriate in fine dining. For €400 for two (including tip) we would have expected much more. Price-performance ratio is not right here at all.

One of the worst restaurants in terms of service. Even with a reservation, you can expect to wait 2 hours. It is also incredibly loud. The restaurant is more like a club. The food is delicious, but everything is spoiled by the waiting time.

I can recommend Lamm Care for food. Unfortunately the rice with onions and garlic didn't taste that good. Unfortunately the fries were also very dry. There are 3 stars for the service. The service was incredibly friendly. The receptionist responsible for the placement was really not welcoming. The ambience is really nice.

We rarely go to expensive places but this one has a great reputation, and we had something very special to raise a glass to. So cocktails and dinner was the idea. The friendliness of staff and ambience was fine. Even the food was decent (though if not a bit overrated) They really messed up with basic restaurant service etiquette though. Our food arrived within 5-10 minutes of ordering, which would ordinarily be OK, except for the fact that our drinks hadn’t arrived yet. One of the most basic faux-pas in the restaurant business. Drinks first, then food. So we decided to just wait a bit longer for the drinks, as the food was mostly sushi anyway and could sit. We waited for 50 minutes, asking twice throughout the wait, only to be apologized to twice and that our drinks had been made but sent to the wrong table…. Twice? All other things considered, this restaurant could have easily been higher rated. But they really should put more effort into ensuring proper order of operations and actual running of drinks and food. Apparently drinks being sent to the wrong table is commonplace here and I am not the only one. MOOK group needs to realize that this can, especially for patrons who are going out specifically to celebrate something and raise a toast, ruin the evening. We basically weren’t there for the food but more so the drinks and waited an hour to get them. Props to the waiter for his kindness in taking the drinks off the bill in the end. But management needs to figure out a system to ensure that the house, front and back, work together more cohesively. I haven’t worked in my share of high-end restaurants. I know the pressure and the difficulty. But it is doable, especially if asking these prices.

Very descriptive shop. The food was tasty but some of the prices weren't justified at all, in my opinion. The waiter was nice, but forgot half of it. Our starters were served to the next table and then taken away and served to us. I personally find it audacious to charge €9 for side dishes for such a small and dry quantity. Yes, it is a more upscale restaurant but then I also expect the service and performance. We also asked for a new tablecloth because we were celebrating a birthday there and were waiting for dessert. The waiter then brought small tablecloths and placed them on the fries that were still on the lower tablecloth!!!! Drinks were brought to the table and simply placed in front of someone without even saying what drink it was or asking who wanted it. More appearance than reality.

Unfortunately the price-performance ratio is not right. The dishes are all drenched in the same sauce, which is not my taste. One meal was completely forgotten. Generally a poor performance for a bill of almost €1000.

Very nice place. The service is very pleasant. And the sublime dishes! We had sushi and the beef carpaccio! It was excellent! A special mention for the mayonnaise which is on the dishes and for the crunchiness of the Sexy Freak Wave sushi 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 We will come back without hesitation!

Nice ambience, very friendly staff, food is good but for me the wow effect was missing for the price.

The ambience at Zenzakan was very pleasant, impressive furnishings! The food tasted very good. We had starters (sushi), main courses (fish) and dessert. Unfortunately, the service somewhat clouded our overall impression. Our waiter offered us additional things “on his own initiative” without making it clear that these would incur additional costs. An example about dessert: He suggested bringing us an additional mochi (3 pieces are on the plate, since there were 2 of us he wanted to bring 4 pieces because of the division). We assumed this was a nice gesture, but the bill simply added 1 motchi + 1 ice cream (which was never communicated). It's not about the additional price, but rather the way of communication when operating. In addition, there were drinks on the bill that we never ordered! The water that we were promised “on the house” (because it was brought incorrectly) was also charged… Unfortunately, such non-transparent procedures also leave a negative impression, which is avoidable for a restaurant in this price range.

You've heard a lot about this restaurant from food influencers and YouTubers and you absolutely won't be disappointed! Zenzakan offers a great experience and exceptional food not found at many modern Asian restaurants. Service, food, drinks and ambience were absolutely perfect!

I am very disappointed with the experience I had in this store, I came all the way from Stuttgart. The store was empty for 1-2 hours and still couldn't get a seat. Unfortunately, I can't complain about eating because it was apparently completely booked even though it had been open since January 1st -2 hours it wasn't even 10 percent full (little pissers with sweatpants even come in)

Had dinner on a surprisingly busy Monday night. Started with cocktails, which were incredible. I had the A5 Wagyu steak which was perfect. However, my wife was disappointed with her Vegan sushi. The wait staff was charming and warm. The service was slow though.

Japanese food, but not a Japanese menu.

Delicious food, but the service is no longer priced. If I spend €140 per person, I expect trained staff. First we had to order the bottle of water twice, then after ordering the drinks and food there was another question after 10 minutes because the waiter understood that the appetizer was veggie sushi instead of crunchy sushi. You should already know your own menu, there is no veggie option. Then the starter came before the cocktails - not once was anyone asked about any further requests. Food and drinks were served pretty carelessly, almost slapped down, so that the sauce almost spilled off the plate. You only put out new cocktails once you have taken away the empty glasses - then you can put them where they should be, not just anywhere. What was conciliatory was that in the last third there was another waitress at our table who was much more competent and authentic. It took the two of us almost 2.5 hours for the starter, main course and dessert, and it couldn't have been quicker due to the service, which was initially not very committed.

Good concept, weak execution. For such an ambience and offer, the service and performance should be a lot higher. We weren't even greeted by the waitress, they just took our orders. The food was served without further comment and not adequately (e.g. the drinks were placed in the middle of the table instead of next to the person). In addition, the service was very weak during our dinner, no one showed up to refill water and our empty plates/drinks were left in front of us for a long time. You don't have to have any service experience in fine dining to know that this is undesirable. Regarding the food, you could definitely taste the high quality and the small portions, even at a high price, have become the norm these days, so nothing special. However, in my opinion, it is problematic to call something a "sushi roll" and then only serve 3 pieces... Last but not least, the bill, we wanted to pay this separately (a common practice these days), but this was only under our own calculation Amount possible. Unprofessional cashing and dirty dishes (still from the first course) said goodbye and finally. The quality, the taste, the ambience and the drinks were positive. Compliments to the bartenders and bosses. While the experience wasn't terrible, we expected a lot more given the numerous positive reviews. It quickly becomes clear what kind of clientele this restaurant wants, but our expectations were not met. The service staff should be a lot more courteous with such ambitious prices and reviews. Due to many experiences in similar restaurants, we were unfortunately surprised and disappointed by the distant, impersonal and discreet service and treatment.

Unbelievable - we were ignored after many requests to at least order something to drink - the glasses and colleagues were more important - I have to say - visually we were elegantly dressed - but we were still ignored for over an hour - the food was okay but - value for money completely inappropriate - I will never visit this restaurant again with their ignorance and will therefore pass it on to my friends - you don't want to experience an evening like that again - you pay a lot and get better service in every fast food restaurant

We celebrated our anniversary here and were thrilled. The food was phenomenal, Steffen's service was unbeatable and the ambience couldn't be beat. A special thank you goes to our waiter Steffen, who gave us an unforgettable evening with a surprise. Thank you very much, we'll be back!

Great experience and exceptional food! Definitely great for special occasions! The duck must be ordered in advance, otherwise everything on the menu is very appealing and delicious! It's worth taking a look at the cocktail menu! The drinks are really very good. You can use valet parking, the guys are very quick. The cost is a tip of €5/cash, which can of course be increased individually.

By far the best restaurant in Frankfurt in my opinion. Aside from the beautiful decor and that lovely atmosphere, the food was an 11/10. Of course you pay twice or three times as much as if you went to a normal restaurant, but it's not that expensive. I also don't understand why so many people criticize the service so negatively. On the contrary, all the employees were very nice and attentive. I'll definitely be back!💪🏻

Our visit to Zenzakan was an unforgettable experience that offered enjoyment at the highest level. The parking service, a real luxury, started our evening comfortably. The menu has a huge selection and we enjoyed trying our way through the dishes. We would particularly recommend the Rainbow Roll, Crunchy Salmon Roll and the Dynamite Shrimp – a dream for sushi and seafood lovers. The Beef Shumai Dumplings and the Crispy Duck Salad were perfectly seasoned, and the Kung Pao Chicken impressed with its authentic flavors. As side dishes, the spicy wasabi fries and edamame were real highlights that rounded off the enjoyment perfectly. The location, the stylish atmosphere and the first-class location make the Zenzakan one of the most exclusive places in Frankfurt. The staff was attentive, friendly and made us feel completely comfortable. We can confirm from our own experience that Zenzakan is rightly considered the best restaurant in Frankfurt. We are already looking forward to our next visit!

An absolutely great experience at Zenzakan Frankfurt! Although we were a little late due to the traffic jam from Stuttgart, we were still offered a place despite our delay - which we really appreciated. Valet parking for €5 was also very convenient. The food was just excellent, 10/10! The service was first class – attentive and friendly. We really enjoyed the evening and will definitely come back. Highly recommended – we are already looking forward to our next visit!

The service has deteriorated quite a bit. You wait forever to order your food and drinks and are left stranded for a long time because no one comes to take the follow-up orders. The telephone availability in advance of the reservation is 0. I tried every evening for a week and no one answers the phone. The food and drinks are good but for such prices I expect a certain standard, which is not the case, so I won't visit again.

Fantastischer Abend im Zenzakan! Im Vergleich zu vielen anderen auch guten Restaurants legt das Zenzakan noch mal eine Schippe drauf. Hervorheben möchte ich die herausragende Fleischqualität, aber auch die aufmerksame und locker-angenehme Bedienung. Auch Sonderwünsche für unseren Sohn wurden berücksichtigt! Sehr gerne wieder!!

Das Zenzakan ist eine Reise wert! Es war ein grandioser Abend mit tollen Essen . Kreativ, lecker und optisch eine 1. begleitet von einem super Service !
