Katomi in Frankfurt am Main

Been there a couple times. First one it was amazing food for a reasonable price. Second time, food was not that good for what we were paying.

We were there with a large group of about 60 people, with advance notice and a reduced menu. Positive: The food was good. But that was it. I had to remind the waitress several times to check the drinks more often. I waited (timed) 42 minutes for my next drink. Some of our guests left the restaurant before dessert, saying, "They had an appointment the day after next." It also took forever for everyone to be served. While some had already finished their main course, orders were still being taken at the end of the table. The restaurant was clearly overwhelmed by the number of people. Drinks were only brought out sporadically in pairs (as many hands as one has). In the end, we weren't even asked for an aperitif or espresso (not on the house, but we weren't even asked if we wanted anything else for dessert). It's definitely nice there for two people. But if you're in a group (and in the reviews others write about similar experiences with as few as 10 people), you should avoid Katomi.

A really beautifully decorated restaurant, unfortunately with some loud and annoying radio hits in the background, and the service is friendlier at every kebab shop. My sushi plate was presented in the same way. I received an unfriendly welcome, with the attitude of "if you really want to eat here, then please." We waited about an hour for our food. My date's food was delicious, my sushi was okay. The icing on the cake was the lettuce leaf on my plate, which didn't fit at all. The plate was presented as if it were "oh right, they ordered sushi, let me finish it quickly." Waiting an hour for that? Awesome. I think the place is popular because you can go there with large groups, and all the Asian companies feel comfortable there for business dinners with 20 people. For a nice evening for two, I'd rather go somewhere else. Not a recommendation, sorry. I hope we caught a bad day; the other reviews seem pretty positive.

I recently ordered takeaway and it was incredibly delicious!!! I can't rate the on-site service, but everyone was nice and it looked nice. There are also lots of vegetarian or vegan options, which is great. The prices are also justified, the portions were really big. I'd love to go again :)

Escuché que era bastante bueno de amigos, así que una mesa para tres estaba reservada para los jueves 6 pm. Primero tuve que encontrar un lugar de estacionamiento - no es fácil! Menú en alemán/inglés - gran opción incl. Sushi. Sentarse está un poco cerca, lo notarás cuando el lugar se llene. La primera ronda de bebidas no tomó demasiado tiempo (el lugar no estaba ocupado) , pedimos el entrante grande para tres - me pareció insípido el « guisantes en la vaina ». Plato principal - pato con espárragos verdes, etc (espárragos no era tierno, más bien duro / leñoso). Todos los platos estaban bien / muy bien presentados, por ejemplo, hielo seco no se salvó. A las 7 pm el lugar estaba lleno, se notó que solo había dos empleados cubriendo todo el comedor, tratando de obtener otra ronda de bebidas tomó siglos! El lugar es muy querido porque "tráfico de personal de oficina" de los alrededores no tienen mucho que ir a tener "después de la cena de trabajo" fechas.

Unfortunately I have to complain, the food apparently wasn't prepared well or a member of staff was sick! I had diarrhea all evening and so did my date partner, so zero stars! Best of all, we went to eat with you and can usually tolerate everything, including spiciness, but instead of enjoying a date we took turns in the toilet!

We were guests at Katomi in a group of approx. 10 people. Positive: Service works as a team, very attentive, there is always someone there to take additional orders. Drink orders came very quickly, service was top. The menu contains Asian dishes in general, sushi but also vegan dishes. Everyone should find something here. Sanitary facilities very clean - top! Average: Starter tuna tartare - super tasty! - For just under €7.50 you only get half a portion compared to other restaurants. I would rather pay more for a real starter... Negative: Our table of more than 10 people crossed the room on the right to the entrance. There are a lot of other tables all around. Overall, everything is very cramped but, above all, much too loud. Even the person across from my table was difficult to have a conversation with. Conversations difficult. Price/performance ratio is also rather overrated in Google. Among other things, we ordered the sushi platter for 4 people. See image. A tower, a wooden fish and a wooden shelf are delivered on a tablet. - the dry ice smokes spectacularly, the whole restaurant is fascinated. Unfortunately, you can't eat the spectacle. See pictures - for 4 people the sushi offered is very scarce, a lot of rice - little fish. I would like to forgo all the “theater” and get more sushi. See pictures: There are e.g. a nigiri tuna only 1x - a nigiri salmon also only 1x - How are you supposed to share that with 4 people? Would we order the record again - definitely not... So the conclusion remains: Maybe an alternative for lunch from the office in the area, I wouldn't eat here with my wife because the atmosphere is very restless and the food is just average.

The food was good. I had sushi first and then the cashew duck. I'd love to come back for that. The service was a bit slow, but the restaurant was also very busy. Nevertheless, we would have liked to have a drink at the table, but unfortunately we were no longer taken into account. It was also very loud. The bottom line is that I strongly recommend going there!

Wir hatten einen Ecktisch und es war etwas problematisch rein und rauskommen, weil alles so eng beieinander gestellt war: sitzen kein Problem, aber wehe man will aufstehen und raus: ohne dass man andere beim Essen unterbrechen muss, geht es nicht - außer man wartet, bis dass die anderen Gäste aufgegessen haben und gegangen sind. Mein Pho (mit Rindfleisch) war sehr gut. Nur hatte ich darum gebeten die Sojasprossen wegzulassen. Bei der Bestellung wurde das bestätigt und "natürlich" kam es prompt wieder voll Sojasprossen. Ich mag sie nun mal nicht: welchen Sinn hat es daher, mir das reinzutun, damit sie dann doch liegenbleiben. Sonst stimmte an der Suppe alles. Sie hatten sogar vietnamesichen Kaffee in dem typischen Tassenfilter, aber leider zu wenig Milch für meinen Geschmack. Wenn ich denen das nächste sage, dass ich mehr Milch möchte, bekomme ich ihn bestimmt schwarz. Aller guten Dinge sind drei. Einen Versuch noch.

Wir haben uns hier mit einer Freundin zu einem gemütlichen Abendessen verabredet. Sie hatte den Tisch auf 18 Uhr bestellt, durch Parplatzsuche waren wir ca. 8 min zu spät und wurden mit dem Satz begrüßt, dass wir um 19:30 wieder draußen sein müssen!!! Sorry, aber das geht gar nicht. Da wird man schon hektisch beim Suchen in der sehr umfangreichen Karte und überlegt sich natürlich ob es vielleicht für zwei Gänge reicht, drei schafft man nicht. Nachdem wir ausgetrunken hatten, wurden wir natürlich auch nicht gefragt, ob wir vielleicht noch was trinken wollen, das hätte ja den Zeitrahmen des Restaurants gesprengt. Das Essen an sich war gut, aber die Ansage und damit verbunden die Ungemütlichkeit hat den Abend ruiniert. Wir kommen nicht wieder, schade!

Been there again during the lunch break. It's a little louder from time to time, but manageable. The tofu peanut dish was very good, the sauce was a dream and the vegetables were nice and crunchy. The miso soup as a starter, which was free with the lunch menu, was again very tasty.

OK. Ich bin normalerweise der große Pho-Fan, aber ausgerechnet an diesem Abend schwebte mir etwas gebratenes vor. Aber irgendwie war ich an dem Abend nicht so glücklich geworden. Obwohl es eigentlich viele Tische gab, hatte ich den Eindruck, dass sich die Kellner über spontane Gäste nicht so richtig freuen. Freundlicher Service ist für mich etwas anderes. Vielleicht trug diese Stimmung dazu bei, dass ich eben keine richtige Freude an meinem Essen entwickeln konnte. Das Essen sah schön aus, aber wenn ich eine Geschmacksexplosion erlebt hätte, würde ich auch den Wunsch haben, wiederzukommen. Aber bei mir eben nicht so schnell.

In my opinion, the food was very low quality and not worth the price, more over the staff was least bothered and rude. I couldn’t wait to leave the place after trying to finish the food. I won’t be going here again. The only palatable thing was the appearance of the food for pictures.

The positive points first: Nice atmosphere and good food. Service is subpar: Unfriendly service, one lady never had a smile on her face and became mushy at times. The service at the table changed constantly. When we had finished eating, no one showed up to clear away the place for a long time. When it's full, the place gets too loud.

I placed an 86€ order on lieferando and after 1h I called them and they vaguely said they were busy. After one more hour of wait they canceled the order. Never again.

By far our favorite restaurant when it comes to sushi! The service has always been great. The employees can also help with questions regarding allergens. Food & drink really great. There are a dime a dozen restaurants in Frankfurt, but Katomi manages to stand out. The desserts are particularly recommended

As much as the food was decent, i still have my criticisms over the place. The presentation was good and well executed, i cant complain. The service was a let down, waiters barely understood a word we said in either german or english. There were construction noises in the background that disturbed the very nice atmosphere. A chic restaurant with very good food! 🥗🍣🍜 I ate here last night and would go there again today. Really very good! Despite the fact that the service left something to be desired. Drinks and dessert were only brought upon request. Personally, I understand if the restaurant is completely booked. I even forgot to take a photo of the main course because it tasted so good 😄 - if that's not meaningful!

We were there at lunchtime and had reserved. We then discovered that on a Sunday lunchtime a reservation is rarely necessary; the restaurant tends to be quite busy during the week, so you should make a reservation here. The atmosphere is modern and friendly, but could be a little cleaner here and there. I think the lampshades are probably just hanging too high and are more likely to be overlooked ;-) We had a starter and a main course each, along with delicious tea. Both starter and main course were plentiful and extremely tasty, the tea was freshly brewed and I have to say, I have never had such delicious tea anywhere. Very cool! The service was “Asian cool” but friendly and accommodating. We sat close to the service staff and therefore had no problems with repeat orders. I can only recommend a visit here! Info for e-car drivers: In Herriots you can park relatively cheaply and charge at the same time, sometimes up to 150 kWh, depending on availability.

We stood in front of the reception for 45 minutes with a reservation, were only occasionally put off with the words “just a moment” and were not offered a drink. At least there was compensation for the meal. Because the food here is great, but so much patience while waiting is extremely frustrating and only made us wait because of the lack of direct alternatives...

The Katomi impresses with its delicious and very well presented dishes. There is a lot on offer here for the eyes and palate in a great atmosphere. The Katomi is definitely a clear recommendation.

I'm sorry but I didn't find it that great here. The food was ok, but I've had better Asian food. Of course it's a great show the way they serve some things, but I don't need that. It's not very comfortable to sit in and it's terribly loud. The service was also just “okay”. The only parking option is in the Aldi and Edeka underground car parks, which you then have to pay for.

In terms of food, Katomi is probably one of the best Asian restaurants in all of Frankfurt. Tastes great and not like cheap fat like many others. The service tried hard to provide service. However, we waited almost ten minutes until we were finally shown to a reserved table. And that was in the part where a noisy crowd was sitting at long tables. We declined and were given a small table in the other half of the restaurant. Slightly quieter, but just as uncomfortable and uncomfortable. We'll be back in the summer when you might be able to sit outside; We don't do anything to each other inside anymore. However, Katomi gained two new customers via home delivery!

I visit Katomi Restaurant from time to time for work dinners while in Frankfurt. It’s a reliable spot that serves its purpose well—nothing overly fancy, but it gets the job done for a casual business dinner. The restaurant can get quite busy, especially during peak hours, which does add to its lively atmosphere. However, one downside is the noise level. When it’s packed, it can get so loud that holding a conversation is challenging—you often can’t hear yourself, let alone your dining companions. Overall, it’s a decent option for group dinners if you don’t mind the noise, but quieter spots may be preferable if you need a more focused setting.

Best Vietnamese restaurant I've ever been to! Some of the dishes are a bit unusual, which I really like. Everything tastes great! The atmosphere is also nice and the waiters are nice. The only thing I don't like is that some of the tables are so close to each other. You basically have to listen to the other guests next to you and to them as well.

Chicly furnished and delicious food for pasta and main courses. The Suhsi was good but has potential. The optics are really great. let yourself be surprised. Parking is possible right outside the door, but parking spaces are in short supply. Better in the evening than at lunch. Service was good but not attentive enough. In general, I think the food has good quality, well presented, the service is decent, and they have interesting drinks. Perfect for family/ friends, a bit crowded for a date/ couple, especially on the weekends.

We had the summer rolls, flying noodles and the udon noodles - all in vegetarian versions. The summer rolls were below average, the flying noodles were spectacularly prepared but unfortunately only lukewarm and with a sauce that was very oversweet for our taste. The salad with the udon noodles wasn't washed properly, so I was chewing on sand. Overall, unfortunately quite disappointing.

The entire offering is really, really tasty. Despite combining so many different Asian cuisines, each tastes mostly authentic and really, really good. I've tried Thai, Vietnamese and Japanese and it was always really good. But the fried sushis were super exceptional. I've never eaten better. Super crunchy. Incredibly delicious.

The food is great and beautifully prepared too. I really liked the look and taste of everything. Unfortunately it is very loud there because the tables are very close together. That's why I'd probably prefer to go to a quieter place. A few soundproof walls between the tables wouldn't be a bad idea. Otherwise everything was great. Clear recommendation!

I have already eaten here three times, both on site and by ordering. So far I have only tried sushi, which I liked. I would give it a solid 3 to 4 stars. However, this time I opted for a main course – salmon with rice and vegetables. Unfortunately, the rice was quite dry, even though the salmon tasted good. What didn't fit, however, was the mayonnaise underneath the vegetables, and the vegetables themselves were disappointing in both taste and appearance. It seemed as if little effort had been made to prepare the vegetables attractively - they were cut carelessly, see photo. (The salmon was of course eaten up :) ) Overall, I unfortunately have to rate the dish negatively.

We had dinner here together after work a few weeks ago. We sat on the terrace, which is very comfortable, especially in the pavilions. The food was mostly very good, but the price was a bit higher. However, some dishes are prepared very spectacularly. The service was fine, just about friendly. A little forgetful at times, but overall good.

Very quality food and good atmosphere. But service is very poor specially the out door girls. They don’t have respect how to speak and they push you a lot to give them a tip.

A very nice restaurant. The look of the restaurant alone promises an experience. We had various sushis as a starter, the flying noodles and lemongrass fried beef. And what the visuals promised was exceeded by the food. Super delicious and definitely recommended.

Newly opened restaurant in the neighborhood, very nice decoration but very poor acoustics, impossible to hear each other. The tables are extremely close together and gives the impression of being in a company restaurant rather than a restaurant. The food is pseudo-Asian, nicely presented, not very generous.
