The mochi are good when semi-frozen. When completely thawed, the performance weakens as sweetness and flavor become more prominent. There is still a lot that could be done in terms of quality, especially with mango and coconut. The vegan sushi was okay. I cannot recommend vegan gyoza. Personally, I'm really irritated by the fact that Germans are suddenly taking over the Asian food business. Feels so weird the way boomers flex on TikTok.

Best sushi I've ever eaten. Always very fresh. Unfortunately, I was never there in person and don't know the employees who make the delicious sushi, but my dear colleague always brings me something. Can only recommend it. I hope that there will be you in Velbert soon.

This is (unfortunately) not a restaurant, but just the self-service counter in Kaufland. There are also a few vegetarian and vegan options. It's pretty neat for that.

Great. We had lunch - fried pieces of fish and duck with rice and vegetables. Both, especially the fish, are incredibly fresh, the duck is not over-fried, as in our pick-up service, but still with a crispy and tasty breading. The starter, miso soup and cabbage and pepper salad were also very tasty. An unrecognized crunchy spice on the cabbage made the salad particularly delicious. As we read in reviews, the 75-year-old restaurant manager and sushi master was a very friendly host for us too. The Japanese service lady was very friendly, but didn't yet speak our language. But if I go to the Japanese restaurant, maybe I should learn a few Japanese words. That being said, communication can also be done with hands and feet or online translators. We were particularly pleased with the taste and the price/performance ratio. I don't understand negative reviews that complain when the restaurant suddenly closes and give one star. Let's be happy that such an experienced restaurateur doesn't rest in his old age and serves us so delicately. And if staff isn't available, at the age of 75, I wouldn't run, I would stay closed. For those who travel from further away and find themselves in front of a closed door, Hattingen also offers plenty of restaurants worth eating, even if this one is special.
