Once and never again, that was the worst overpriced kebab I've ever eaten. Almost 9 euros for a kebab with barely any meat in it is a real rip-off.

The doner bread and meat are outstanding – for me, currently the best doner in Dortmund. The combination of the extremely fresh, soft, almost yufka-like bread, the fresh salads, well-balanced sauces, and the truly high-quality meat makes the doner a taste experience. I ate one today and am going back tomorrow – I highly recommend it. The ambiance hasn't changed for years and now seems a bit dated – this is purely an architectural observation and, of course, doesn't affect the taste.

October 2025 still no card payment possible = illegal work = antisocial!

Yesterday, during my trip from Bavaria, I visited the Yörük Obasi restaurant in Dortmund – and it was absolutely worth it! The food was delicious, fresh, and authentically prepared. I'd especially like to commend the owner, Mr. Turgut, for his exceptional friendliness and openness. You immediately sense that hospitality and quality are a top priority here. A visit that will be remembered not only for its taste, but also for its human touch. A clear recommendation – 5 stars!

Good things take time, I ordered a doner kebab plate and what can I say, the chicken meat was so good that you can eat it pure, one of the best doner kebabs 1A gladly again, a bit more expensive but in contrast to what I usually get in Germany, super quality and you can taste it too

Kellner SEHR is unfriendly. They don't even stop by the table, their faces are grim. They don't even take you for granted; they treat you based on your status. The owners are the same way. If you're a doctor, go there, but they'll treat you well.

The doner kebab: great taste, terrible price The doner kebab is truly delicious. The meat is of good quality – really juicy, well-seasoned, simply convincing. I would call myself a true doner kebab connoisseur, and this one definitely ranks among the top third in terms of taste. The bread isn't run-of-the-mill either, but fresh, crispy, and fits perfectly with the overall picture. The salad is solid – nothing special, but also nothing to complain about. Fresh, crispy, but just standard. The atmosphere is okay, the shop is well-organized, the team is well-coordinated, and the processes are fast. But now for the downsides: The price is a real disappointment – ​​much too high. The doner kebab is extremely small. It's actually more of a doner kebab roll than a full-fledged doner kebab. The portion is truly meager: too little meat, not enough salad, and the bread feels more like half a flatbread. If you order with onions, you might get three small pieces – that's just not enough. I specifically ordered meat – and still wasn't full. And that was at lunchtime, even though I had breakfast at 9 a.m. At 2 p.m., one doner kebab should really be enough, but here? No chance. To feel full, you'd have to eat at least two doner kebabs, which would cost around €18. For that price elsewhere, you can get a whole grilled plate with lamb, chicken, chops, fries, and salad – and a much larger portion. Conclusion: Strong flavor, no question. But the price and portion size are disproportionate. Anyone who sells doner kebabs for that price should also deliver accordingly. After three visits, I can unfortunately confirm: It's not the exception, but the rule. The portions are simply far too small.

I've tried a few kebabs in Dortmund, but this one was my favorite. I opted for a kebab plate. The food arrived within what felt like two minutes of my order, which was really impressive, even though there were a lot of customers. The flatbread that comes with it is delicious and crispy. The meat is tender and melts in your mouth. I liked the rice (with chickpeas). It's prepared in a typical Turkish style, buttery, and very tasty. You could also eat it on its own. The interior is simple but still nice. There's plenty of seating, both inside and outside. I definitely recommend it; if I'm in Dortmund, a visit is a must. Besides the kebabs, there are many other dishes I'd like to try.

I feel ripped off. For €8.20, the doner kebab contained more salad than doner, and the bread was so hard it hurt my jaw. I won't be visiting you again. For €8.20, you expect a filling doner kebab.

A successful boss must see, understand, and understand every job and every detail from A to Z, even through the customer's eyes. If you think you live for food, I highly recommend everyone read this unique book, which has written the book on this business. I've seen this happen many times: as you leave the door, the boss sits at the cash register, spraying cologne and asking for money. Or, in the evenings, he comes back, collects the cash register's proceeds, and leaves. You won't see anything like that here. I wish them continued success and, at the very least, maintain this magnificent level.

I've rarely eaten such a bad meal. The fries were lukewarm and the mayo came from a packet. A children's plate for 10 euros! With fries that could have fit in a child's hand and an estimated 100g of meat. Our service was anything but friendly. I have no idea where the positive reviews come from. One star is too many for me.

The buffet is clean, everything is freshly refilled, the food is hot, and the service is hygienic and super friendly! I've been to a few Turkish breakfast buffets, but none as great as this one. From now on, I'll only come here for breakfast. :)

Unfortunately, it was very disappointing. Despite the lack of business, there was a long wait for a server. Our orders didn't arrive at the same time, and my dürüm didn't arrive until my friends were almost finished. I watched as it sat untouched for five minutes before it was served. The dough was cold, the meat only lukewarm, and the taste was questionable. Instead of a dürüm, I was given the wrong lahmacun. No apology, just a rude reaction from the staff. For €48 for three, it was a complete disappointment. Two of us had gastrointestinal problems afterward. I definitely won't be back.

I'll be honest, I was there today and I was incredibly hungry, I ordered a stuffed grape leaves and an iskender salad. First of all, I'll talk about the sarma. It was very small, I think they gave me 4-5 sarmas, and there was a tomato on the side. It was the worst iskender salad I've ever had in Iskender salad. That's my opinion, I'm definitely not criticizing it. If you're going to try it, ask for the soup, they're good.

First of all, I think the food on offer is very good. However, I ordered a salad wrap with everything, but only received one without any sauce. Also, the employee wasn't listening properly and wanted to make a doner wrap. After I pointed this out to him, he dumped the meat and wanted to put the salad in the previously meat-filled wrap. I wonder if he would eat a wrap that had previously been filled with pork.

Having just moved to Hörde, we actually just wanted to get a kebab. But the location and the food really caught our attention, and we came back the very next day. The breakfast buffet offers a really good selection, and everything tasted delicious.

Unfortunately, a vegetarian dish listed on the menu as Anatolian cheese gratin was not offered the appropriate service. We didn't have to pay for the dish because it wasn't eaten. It consisted only of tomato sauce, Gouda, and a few pieces of white cheese. The original price for this dish was €15. My husband enjoyed the Turkish pizza.

From the moment we entered Yörük Obasi, we received a warm welcome and felt like royalty from the very first moment. The hospitality was exceptional – attentive, friendly, yet pleasantly understated. The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the food: the Iskender Kebab, in particular, was an absolute delight! Tender meat, delicately seasoned, on wonderfully soaked flatbread, topped with aromatic tomato sauce and a hint of yogurt – a taste experience you won't soon forget. The other dishes on the table were also lovingly prepared and of outstanding quality. The ambience in the restaurant charmingly reflects Turkish culture – warm, inviting, and authentic. You can tell that the food here isn't just cooked, but made with passion. Yörük Obasi was definitely worth the trip for us – we would love to come back!

Unfortunately only one star because we didn't really like the food. It has a lot of stars, but somehow they weren't real stars. We are used to getting bread with the mixed plate of Lavas, but we didn't get that. We asked for it and they didn't give us one. Instead there was only bread. I later saw that they actually had some. The price for the kebab was in the upper midrange, which might seem a little higher at first glance. However, if you consider the central location of Yörük Obasi and, above all, the excellent quality of the food, this price is absolutely justified and understandable. You definitely get something for your money here. All in all, my visit to Yörük Obasi was a very positive experience. The combination of the delicious kebab meat, the friendly service and the pleasant atmosphere means that I can unreservedly and 100% recommend this restaurant. I will definitely come back!

My Lachmacun was seasoned way too spicy. I like spicy food, but this was otherworldly. We didn't feel welcome here at all from start to finish. Rarely have I experienced such unfriendly staff as in this restaurant. Your own culture will be given priority. Of course, card payment was not possible either.

We ordered a mixed grill plate for two people. When it was served we were even specifically told that the portion was divided into two separate plates. However, at the end of the bill we were charged two prices as if we had each ordered a single portion and this was what they insisted on. We found this to be very unprofessional and inappropriate. In addition, it was not possible to pay by card, which we also found very unsatisfactory. Such situations are really annoying and shouldn't happen in a good restaurant. And the meat was burnt too salty. The portion can be seen again in the picture.

Negative reviews are deleted with the help of a lawyer (allegedly defamatory, but no one was personally insulted, just objective criticism). Reviews should therefore be taken with caution. Be careful!

Wir waren um 18:30 Uhr im Yörük Opas Wir hatten Pommes, Pide mit Hackfleisch, Lahmacun und Salat. Unsere Speisen waren sehr lecker und ausreichend. Wir würden hier nochmals essen gehen. Schade das am Nachbartisch eine Frau mit zwei Kindern saß, die sich leider wie die Schwei...... benommen haben und das halbe Essen unter dem Tisch gelandet ist und dort blieb es dann auch liegen. Die Bedienung war übrigens auch sehr freundlich.

Don't be disgraced by giving your money, the owner fights with the customers. The people at the cash register do not issue receipts for cash payments. They are disrespectful and rude. You should complain about them because they do not give receipts.

In the past I have always been very satisfied with the food and service. Today I got doner plates with rice to take away 3 times. Plus 2 portions of baklava. Food was cold, baklava was not in the bag. What was sold to us as veal was lamb. So we didn't eat it and brought it back. The money didn't matter but something like that doesn't work. Still 60€ for it. Never again 🙃

I was there again on February 22, 2025 with my family, the portion was mini and at the end the combs took every 2 minutes to clear away so we could leave! So that the others come immediately. The food was a disaster, the meat was still alive, we got raw meat that was pink on the inside. 22€ for a plate with a Mini Adana which has 80% vegetables and 20% raw meat. 1 köfte which tasted completely disgusting like rat meat. 1 small chicken skewer which was on the grill for 14 seconds and served to us. 3 out of 4 of us have terrible stomach pains. Went to a football game in Dortmund and my friend really wanted to eat a kebab from the Ruhr area. No sooner said than done. Very nice snack bar where you can sit comfortably. A breakfast buffet is also offered there. The kebab was a poem, freshly baked bread and the veal was excellent, with only onions and tzatziki... Served by a nice waitress, nothing more was possible.

A large and rich open buffet breakfast is available on weekends.. 🍳 Kelle trotter soup is delicious, but the soups are not hot enough.. 🥣 The mixed grill plate is delicious..🍗 Unfortunately, there is no payment by card, only cash.. 💶 The staff is caring and friendly.. 😊 A little more attention should be paid to hygiene at the tables.. 🧽

The food is pretty okay, it's not gourmet, and the selection is quite good and the waitress is by far the nicest person there. The boss didn't discuss anything, didn't see any mistakes. I once ordered a plate to take away. It arrived at home and the wrong side dish was in it. I then called and was told that they would do it well next time. I was there today with my wife We ate 2 plate dishes and we specifically asked if we could use different ones instead of the 2 same skewers. At the checkout when we wanted to pay, the gentlemen charged an extra 14€ for a complete plate for 2 skewers, so I've never had anything so outrageous I experience very snooty people. I can only appeal to the people. Mistakes happen to us too, but we should probably acknowledge them.

Doner man really unfriendly and really hectic. He says that I should say what I want more quickly, even though I tell him normally. I told him twice that I wanted spicy and he just forgets.
