Hello, unfortunately, I can't recommend this restaurant. If I could, I wouldn't give it a star. The meat was inedible and the sauce was way too sweet. I know a lot of good Indian restaurants, so I wanted to try this restaurant. I'm very disappointed.

We absolutely love Indian food, but here today the meat (chicken) tasted really mushy. We then ordered the bill and left the dishes as they were. The manager smiled and then waived €10 off the bill. I find that pretty cheeky. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this restaurant.

The service and ambience was top, but the food was not authentic Indian. The Biriyani was nice and the meat (chicken Tikka) was cooked well, but the flavors and curry were sweet and threw us off. Would go again tho

Low-quality food: cheap chicken and mediocre curry. Nothing to do with Indian food. Delivery on Lieferando took an hour, even though the place is 10 minutes away. Update: they also tried to remove this review, but didn’t manage to. Don’t trust the high rating - it’s due to negative reviews being removed.

My wife and I ordered from this restaurant for the first time today, and we were truly pleasantly surprised. The food was exceptionally delicious, fresh, and very well seasoned. We will definitely order here again! The prices are also absolutely reasonable for Indian cuisine. One small criticism concerns the bhatura: We ordered it twice, and both portions were delicious, but unfortunately quite small. Slightly larger bhaturas would have perfected the overall experience, and this would have earned a full five stars.

For many years, this has been a good address for delicious Indian cuisine and specialties. Many options are available in vegan versions, and they have high chairs and are also suitable for large family gatherings. I've lived in the neighborhood for over 20 years and eat there at least 10 times a year. The prices are good, the portions are perfect, and the restaurant has practically become a tradition, considering how often the restaurants in the neighborhood change.

I’m a chinese woman and immediately walking in the attitude of the workers were rude. i politely asked for an english menu and the server made an audible scoff at me. i watched the employees interact with other guests (a family and a couple) which were very friendly and typical. for me, I felt stared at and judged by the workers. the food was okay at best and the racist experience made it worse. there are many more better indian restaurants around this neighborhood don’t go to this one.

Very tasty and authentic dishes. The dishes are prepared with original spices and in a dose that is very pleasant for our (European) tastes. We are regular guests (several times a month) and hopefully it will stay that way for a long time, the whole family enjoys it and there is always something for everyone. Can absolutely recommend! Price-performance ratio is also great 👍🏻

After visiting this restaurant my clothes smell like old grease. The soup is inedible because it contains a lot of starch and is made from powder. I don't recommend eating there.

Shrimp are not recommended. The tomato sauce in it didn't really taste South Indian, like it says on the menu. The food wasn't authentic, but unfortunately that's often the case in Germany. The chapati was ok. The Yogi tea came with milk without being asked, which is not on the menu. Unfortunately there is no oat milk or coconut milk. Salad was not good and drowned in yogurt sauce.

Very delicious food here at the Yogi Ashram! The dishes are freshly prepared, every main course comes with rice and salad, and the drinks menu is absolutely fine and not too expensive. The ambience is subtle, and of course there is Indian music! The fact that the side salad was a little unimaginative - iceberg lettuce, a bit of Dutch tomatoes and Dutch cucumber with ready-made dressing - is made up for by the delicious and very differently seasoned main courses. Service was served with efficient sparseness of words. Delicious Indian cuisine in Friedrichshain at reasonable prices? Absolutely here

This Indian restaurant may not be an insider tip, but it's still a safe bet! I've been coming here for years and it never disappoints. The selection of dishes is huge, so everyone can find something. It's especially worth it at lunchtime - the offerings are not only delicious, but also really inexpensive. No matter whether you fancy something spicy or a mild curry, we simply know how to do it here. And best of all: the quality remains constant, no matter how often you come. A place you'll love to return to again and again!

Online order: lentil soup is very watery and tomato soup like, not your delicious comfort lentil soup you would expect. Delivery food comes all scrunched and the sauces go all over.

I ordered food. So I can't say anything about the ambience there. The food was okay for the price. Unfortunately there was a slightly larger beetle in there, which I found very unappetizing. Therefore, I don't want to eat or order food there again.

Unfortunately not really recommended... Chicken meat, for example, had the same consistency as the paneer cheese (a bit strange). I probably won't order from there again. (I cannot rate the service and ambience due to ordering/delivery service...).

The portions are big and filling; the yogi thali and yogi biryani were delicious; however, the palak paneer was bland and inedible. There was too much unnecessary food coloring used in the drinks and dishes and the staff was very cold and unsmiling - unexpected from Indians who are otherwise known for their hospitality.

We ordered palak paneer and a yogi salad (canned fruits). Food was delicious. Since we were initially given the wrong food, we were given papadum as an "apology", which I find very thoughtful. You can sit inside and outside, people smoking outside and the constant harassment of Lieferando suppliers are a bit annoying. The toilets need a makeover - they don't look as nice anymore and could definitely be cleaner. Overall, a good address for Indian food in the Simon-Dach-Kiez.

I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to queer people. Super unfriendly staff that made the whole dinner feel uncomfortable for us. The food is ok but overrated in my opinion and we ordered a big bottle of still water and they gave us tap water in a used and open bottle they tried make look like it was all brand new.

Can’t say anything else than I had a lovely meal here. Definitely worth it!

I am confused about the food I got, I ordered a chicken korma but the texture of the chicken was so weird I thought it was fish, so I doubt the quality of the meat... Unfortunately I could not eat my plate. I guess it's better to order vegetarian food there.

Worst Indian restaurant I have ever visited. The sauce for the chicken massala was very unexciting but what was worst was the meat. I don't know exactly what was wrong with it but it was weirdly flaxy/squishy. You couldn't eat that with the best will in the world. Another review mentioned molded meat, perhaps that's why it was definitely inedible. Wouldn't recommend anyone to eat here, even though the staff was friendly.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the restaurant, even though the service and ambience were good in my experience. The chicken dishes serve meat with, in my opinion, a strange texture. Personally, it reminds me of pressed meatballs or incorrectly thawed meat - I can't say exactly what it is, but it's not something I want in my curry. The sauce also tasted relatively bland, there was no trace of the variety of flavors that we know from other restaurants.

We sat down and the waiter came and spoke to us after 15'. He brought us catalogs in German while we spoke to him in English. I went to get catalogs in English from inside. not even the best communication in English they did not speak well at all. the food very average and below average I would say. I would not go again

Food is not authentic indian. As it is catered to the german taste buds, which is bland and sweet where it shouldn't be. But that's for south asian taste buds, for western customer it might be perfect which makes sense.

A disaster. We BOTH spent the following night with diarrhea and vomiting over the toilet. The chicken in the Chicken Vindaloo had such a spongy consistency that I should have been suspicious (see also M.W.'s review 4 months ago). The breaded eggplants smelled like very old fryer grease. Once and never again. How this store gets 4.6 stars is a mystery to me

We ordered from this place 3x so far, and I can say that the quality is consistently good, and the portions are very generous. The food is packaged in a way that it always stays hot (not warm, but REALLY HOT), even though the delivery takes around 20 minutes. When we order a plate for 2, there’s enough food left for one of us to eat a full and satisfying lunch the next day. The plates consists of an appetiser (papadam wirh 3 different sauces), 2 boxes of soup, 3 different main courses, rice, bread, and a dessert.

The positive first: our vegetarian thali was very tasty. The negative: if you sit near the counter, you quickly get the feeling of a train station entrance hall (the phone is constantly ringing and drivers are constantly coming in). Relaxation is different.

Leuke zaak, vriendelijke bediening, en vooral keilekker eten aan heel democratische prijzen. Zeker de moeite waard.

Super delicious Chicken Jalfrezi. Strong seasoning. The desire for extra hotness was perfectly fulfilled. The meat was decorated with fresh ginger. The amount of meat was okay and the quality was perfect. There was also a standard side salad. Reordered rice arrived promptly. Unfortunately, the request for payment was initially ignored and the payment was only made after asking twice. It's commendable that card payments are also possible! We will be back definitely! Addendum, new visit 2 months later: Chicken Masala and Batak Tikka. Served with side salad and rice for the table. Both again super delicious. After the good food, we treated ourselves to an "Old Monk", an aromatic Indian rum. Service was great, this time also prompt checkout. Clear recommendation!

Ich habe heute liefern lassen, bekam die Lieferung in der genauen Zeitangabe und mein Essen war genauso lecker wie vor Ort im Lokal. Ich mag die Atmosphäre im Yogi Ashram und finde den Service angenehm und gastfreundlich. Lieblingsrestaurant in Friedrichshain.

Ich hatte im August über Lieferando bestellt, leider wurde meine Bewertung gelöscht und das aus unerklärlichen Gründen, denn ich habe gegen keine Richtlinien verstoßen. Nur finde ich, dass meine Mitmenschen erfahren sollten, was ich im Essen gefunden habe: Nämlich einen weißen Faden im Reis und das geht gar nicht. Außerdem finde ich, dass das Fleisch einen sehr gewöhnungsbedürftigen Biss hat, als wäre es vorher aufgetaut worden, das ist meine Meinung. Deshalb würde ich von diesem Restaurant abraten.

We had a reservation, but when we arrived, they had forgotten about us, and all tables were taken. The staff told us to wait for five minutes outside in the cold, but it turned into over half an hour. People who came in without reservations were seated before us. When we complained, the staff suddenly claimed our table was ready, even though it wasn’t. They left us standing in the middle of the restaurant, next to another table, trying to hurry other guests to leave. After this rude incident, we decided to eat somewhere else.

Das Essen war wirklich reichhaltig und lecker. Bekommt man woanders so nicht ohne Weiteres. Service ist freundlich und schnell. Sehr gutes Preisleistungsverhältnis.

Best food ever taste Pure desi indian style

Nie wieder. Das Restaurant meldet jegliche Kommentare als Richtlinien Verstoß die Kritik äußern. Mein ursprünglicher Kommentar, selbstverständlich nicht beleidigend - wurde nach über 6 jahren plötzlich von Restaurant entfernt, das geht so nicht. Es gibt viele deutlich, DEUTLICH bessere indische Restaurants in der Stadt. Ich rate von diesem ab.

Das YOGI-ASHRAM Restaurant bietet von der Straße aus einen Eindruck der okay ist. Im inneren gibt es keine nennenswerten Highlights, aber auch nichts negatives. Insgesamt macht es einen ordentlichen und sauberen Eindruck. Das Personal ist mal so und mal so. Der eine war freundlich und hatte ein Lächeln im Gesicht. Der Andere hatte eine eher ernste Art und das Lächeln fehlte. Das Essen war okay. Mit einer extra bestellten Portion Reis bin ich dann auch satt geworden. Leider hatte ich nicht die richtige Soße zu meinem Essen. Von Curry keine Spur. Aber es hat trotzdem geschmeckt. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist insgesamt okay. Mein Fazit, da ist Luft nach oben. Diese Rezension wurde von mir schon vor über einem Jahr geschrieben. Aufgrund einer Beschwerde der Inhaber habe ich sie leicht verändert.
