The prices in the restaurant were twice as high as on the website – a scam! Furthermore, the food was cold and the meat wasn't fresh.

One of the worst places in Jena. Not to recommend. We tried to organise a Silvester party at it. The owner sayed something and surprised us with something else at the party. They don’t keep a word

First of all, concerning food the quality of the place drammatically dropped lately and I should also note that the service is now worse than before. They don't know the food they are serving (even the difference between soups and the pides). However, the last and maybe the biggest problem with the place is they ask cash for the payment. This is a restaurant not a take away donershop or sth like that. Therefore, I am raiting them with the lowest possible note and I will never visit the place again. If you are reading this review before going to the place, please just take my advice and avoid the place.

I highly recommend this place! The staff is incredibly attentive and friendly! We were even allowed to choose our own tables – right by the river, to enjoy the view. We were constantly looked after, and the food was prepared quickly. The dishes were delicious and filling. I especially want to highlight the cocktails with Lillet and Aperol 🍹 And they even charged my phone. See the photos for more details. Thank you so much – we'll definitely be back!

The mixed appetizer platter was very tasty and extensive. The main course, the mixed grill, was very tasty but a bit monotonous (3 identical skewers) – I would have liked more variety here. The menu also didn't specify what the grill platter contained. The dessert (baklava) was unfortunately a disappointing end to the evening. It consisted only of walnuts, not the pistachios mentioned on the menu. It was also quite dry and lacked the typical sweetness (as if the sugar syrup had been forgotten). Service was pleasant. The drink selection was decent.

You can sit comfortably outside in the sun. The food is delicious. We had vegan and meat dishes. It was quick, too. The staff are also very friendly. We had our dogs with us, and they even provided water upon request. The vegan schnitzel and appetizer platter are highly recommended.

We went there while walking by the riverside, the ambience is really great. However, we wanted something sweet the only thing they had was some sort of Bakhlava dish, paid almost 9 euros for it. However the portion was very less compared to the price and also the taste was not good at all. I don't know what I just paid for, even the staff was not so friendly unlike other Mediterranean restaurants. A complete dissatisfaction

Is someone stupid or why is the German flag hanging upside down???

As soon as you walk in, you notice how clean and tidy the restaurant is. The service is calm, attentive, and friendly… truly excellent. And then the food! You can taste how fresh and expertly prepared it is. Superbly seasoned and beautifully presented. You'll be filling, and the prices are very reasonable. If you like oriental cuisine or want to try it, this is a great option.

We order regularly from the Grünen Tanne (Green Tanne). The food always arrives in good quality and within the pre-ordered delivery window. The delivery drivers are always very friendly. The packaging still needs some work (e.g., no chilled glass bottles in paper bags; one of them broke during delivery). Update: The transport of glass bottles has been optimized ☺️

Very good food. Huge selection and great taste. It can compete with some places in Berlin. Plus, the beautiful location with tables on the riverbank. Absolutely fantastic!

I've rarely eaten so badly. The food was poorly presented, poorly seasoned, extremely small portions, ready-made falafel, the "homemade" lemonade was syrup with water... I could go on. I actually love Middle Eastern cuisine, but this was truly substandard, and quite expensive to boot. I absolutely wouldn't recommend it! The service was okay. The location is, of course, great, right on the water, but that's the only positive thing about this restaurant.

Good Turkish cuisine, friendly, attentive service. You can sit outside, right by the Camsdorf Bridge. Be careful when getting up from your seat because of the cyclists, completely ignorant of traffic rules, on all the sidewalks.

We went there as a group of 12 on a Saturday. The service was great. The food was good but they ran out of rice so they served us potato wedges. Although it says they are open till midnight but their kitchen closes at 10 pm.

One of the best restaurants in Jena, and ordering is also flawless. But our favorite place is sitting by the Saale River in the evening and enjoying the food, with very friendly service. Absolutely top-notch value for money. Our favorite dishes are sucuk pide, lahmacun, and the delicious tantuni. For dessert, we sometimes have kunefe, which is too delicious but very high in calories. Give it a try; it definitely deserves 5 stars! Best life

We were there with our family! We ordered so many things we thought we wouldn't make it! But we did it! The food is very tasty, the salads are fresh, friendly service, cool location! I recommend it!

Last night I drank two beers in the green fir tree and sat outside by the Saale and enjoyed the evening. You can sit outside really, really well and watch what's going on. The service staff is super accommodating and welcomes you very openly. I felt very welcome the entire time! Although I didn't eat anything, I will definitely be a guest at the green fir tree again! Really only recommended!!

When can I eat there in a cozy atmosphere

Food good. Unfortunately there was a misleading campaign via Lieferando, but the owner was very keen to clarify this quickly and was also very grateful for the tip.

Cool atmosphere but very good service and delicious food

The grill plate for 2 people is our favorite. The meat is cooked to perfection. Bulgur, potato wedges and salad are served with it.

We ordered food there, the grill plate from the 2 for 1 promotion. Very disappointing. The meat was dry, the potato wedges were mushy, and unfortunately there was no dip or something similar to save the meat. The two grill plates sometimes had different meat. Quantity was ok.

I ordered a mixed grill plate for 2 people. A starter was served for the first time and then a main course. Grill and side dishes were delicious. Recommendation: Homemade Ayran could be a little more sour.

The Iskender was a feast! Very tender meat. The pide was incredible, just as it should be, really juicy. Simply absolutely delicious. Gladly again!!

If there is a store in Jena that perfectly combines quality with quantity then it is Grüne Tanne in Jena. This shop impresses with its beautiful appearance, but the food delivered is also optimally packaged and is warm and fresh when it arrives. We order there regularly and love the store.

I had a very nice, relaxing, sunny afternoon. I sat by the water. The waitress Florentine...a very nice, friendly, courteous, competent restaurant specialist created a wonderful ice cream sundae for me. It tasted very good. I felt completely comfortable and would love to come back. LG.S.Cancer

We had a very nice and delicious evening! We sat outside, which is really nice when the weather is good. The service was very nice and we didn't have to wait long. The food is really delicious and the portions are large. The food is something different too. There aren't many vegetarian options for the main courses, but the options are very tasty and there are plenty of veggie options for the starters. The prices are okay too. We'd love to come back.

You can sit outside directly on the Saale. We asked for an ice cream menu and were then allowed to choose different types of ice cream from which a cool ice cream sundae was made. Very individual and nice

Very nice restaurant. They offer delicious dishes from Turkish cuisine. You can sit outside next to the river side, which is very nice especially in the summer. You can also have a nice view directly to the Jena tower.

We were there for dinner yesterday and sat comfortably in the beer garden. The food was first class, of course it's a matter of taste. The service was quick and very friendly, despite the stress. Which is no longer a given in these times, unfortunately. The prices are reasonable. Overall, I can say that this inn is recommended if you like oriental specialties. We would definitely like to come back.

Stopped by here because we heard that Künefe was on the menu - an Arabic specialty that our Arabic teacher at university raved about and that we finally wanted to try. I can say it was really a gustatory dream and you should try it. The guys on site were also very nice and served us a little tea on the house. Looking at the menu definitely made me want more, I plan to stop by again soon!

This was a Too Good to Go order! Here's a little insight into my Too Good to Go order. I got falafel with a piece of flatbread, hummus and a small salad. The falafel was okay. They were still hot as they had probably been fried. Unfortunately they were a little greasy and not very seasoned. Unfortunately, I also had the latter problem with the hummus. The salad was delicious and the flatbread was okay too. I think the portion for this order is good. But I don't know if I'll order anything from Too Good to Go again. But I would be open to going to the restaurant and ordering something from the menu.

My review relates to the experience with the Grüne Tanne via Too good to go. The employees were all very friendly. Since there are also vegan dishes on the menu, I asked whether a vegan dish was also available via Too Good To Go. I brought my own cans with me when I picked them up and only looked at them when I got home. Unfortunately, the pide was packed with cheese for me and I was naturally annoyed because I had asked the restaurant beforehand whether there was a vegan option. Too bad!

The food is delicious. You can sit and dine outside very nicely. The service is prompt, very friendly and professional. I had a very good dinner here.

Update 2023/24 - 2nd attempt now in operation for over a year. This time with to good to go. 4 euros a dish, ok for “leftovers”. Then the surprise: rice with pureed tomatoes and lots of oil. We were disappointed.

I just stopped in for the first time to pick up a to good to go order. I got freshly prepared falafel with salad, hummus and bread. The falafel was so delicious that I decided to rate it here. Will come back!

Here you can eat delicious, fresh and plentiful food. We are happy to respond to customer requests. Only cash payment is possible here. You can eat outside with a view of the Saale or, if the weather is bad, inside.

Food was okay, the feta salad could have been better. The appetizer plate conveyed that you get a selection of all the appetizers, which wasn't the case, it was more like hard bread with dips, two falafels and a stick of haloumi. The lamb kofta was juicy and tender.

It was a spontaneous visit and it was worth it. Very very good food. We will be back!

Very bad service.....just wanted to have lunch. It wasn't very crowded and I found a nice table in the beer garden with a view of the Saale. After intense ignorance from the staff, I left after waiting in vain for 18 minutes. I wouldn't even be spoken to.

I can't say anything about the restaurant - the blaring music regularly prevents me from taking a seat there... You used to be able to have a wonderfully quiet breakfast there.

After several months and according to a good previous experience, I invited my friends to this restaurant. However, I saw some big negative points : 1- An impolite behavior of a servant! She doesn't care what you say and what you want! Even she doesn't have enough info about their menu! 2- portions volume are rather like a child portion!! They have reduced volume of each portion considerably! 3- the flavor of food is still fine, fortunately.

I ordered stating that I only want chicken and no meat in my dish. Because I'm allergic to red meat. Unfortunately I received the order with red meat. I called to clarify this, the person on the phone spoke to me very meanly and told me straight away (you annoyed us with your order). And then he spoke very badly about me to his colleague, I understood that because I also speak Arabic. You are not professional. Even one star is too many. Never again!

I was very skeptical, especially because I preferred German cuisine (as you know). My family invited me to dinner here for my birthday and I was thrilled. The food is very tasty, balanced and the portion size is absolutely more than sufficient. The service is neither intrusive nor too rare. Everyone was very friendly and attentive. We ordered from the green fir tree. The food was delivered on time. The portions are perfect and it tastes very tasty! I would order again.

Awful experience. The grilled meat was definitely warmed up just before serving, clearly suggested by the dry cold parts inside and chewy texture. The lamb and beef meat smelled very unhealthy. They offered to cook once more but the smell and suspicious meat taste didn't get any better. We apologized and left after paying for the drinks. The staff was very polite and understanding though.

Die Thüringer Bratwurst war OK, aber ein Preis von 8 € für eine Thüringer im Brötchen ist dreist und schlichtweg Wucher. Auch das Nacken, welches kalt war, im Brötchen war für 14 € unverschämt! Das Ambiente war schön, aber der Preis für das Essen, gerade für Studenten, geht gar nicht!!!

Sehr freundliche und kompetente Bedienung, hausgemachtes köstliches Essen, reichliche Portionen mit fairem Preis. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

We’ve been there for the first time. Lovely place with great atmosphere, also for sitting outside. Good service and friendly staff. The dishes on the menu look great. The food (main dishes) we received looked very different and was not as described on the menu. Very disappointing and felt a bit cheap. I won’t go there again for lunch/dinner.

Heute das erste Mal hier essen gewesen.... Ich bzw wir können uns über nichts beschweren... Ich war sehr gespannt weil es verschiedene Meinungen gab. Es wurde sich um uns gut gekümmert....das Essen inkl. Vorspeise was echt super... nicht überwürzt.... Mal davon abgesehen das die Lage schön ist. Wir würde sehr gern wieder kommen. Das einzige war nicht gut ist....sind die Stühle. Die sind unbequem.

Leider nur für Bierchen in der Sonne da gewesen, aber die ausgestellten Kuchen und das Baklava im Inneren sahen verlockend aus. Bezüglich des Essens scheint das Umfeld (die anderen Gäste) zufrieden gewesen sein. Das Ambiente ist mit den Tischen direkt am Fluss unschlagbar. Service war auch hinterher und freundlich.

Essen und Lokation waren sehr lecker, schön und angenehm, nur die Toiletten könnten etwas mehr Aufmerksamkeit vertragen.
