Ya Halla Döner in Erlangen

Great pizza. We've been coming back for decades.

A hefty 9 euros is all it takes for a shashlik skewer with a roll at the 2025 Bergkirchweih here. In the early afternoon, they obviously serve the same warmed-up skewers from the day before, at least that's how it tasted. When I returned the deposit tray, I had to clean it of all the trash in front of an extremely unfriendly waitress to get my deposit back. I probably should have licked the keys too... That's unacceptable at that price. Unbelievable!! There are definitely friendlier places to get food nearby.

Excellent steaks, cooked to perfection. The new owner, who had previously worked the grill here for years, took over the restaurant a few years ago and replaced almost the entire staff. But the food, and especially the steaks, remain unsurpassed. The best steakhouse in Erlangen. Unfortunately, it's often overcrowded lately. You can barely finish your meal before you have to leave. That's simply unacceptable.

Ordered 4 pizzas with garlic sauce and sucuk. Surprisingly, they were delivered without garlic sauce and sucuk. Luckily, they still deducted the money. Thanks for nothing. The "large" pizza for €11.50 isn't worth the price either...

So, it's in dire need of renovation and everything's kind of dingy. The toilets are especially awful. Strangely enough, there were fat flies in the dining area in the middle of winter. The food was okay, but the hygiene in the kitchen is unimaginable. The service was a bit eccentric, but not unfriendly. Yes, it's a left-wing cult bar, but still extremely neglected. There's only one server and one Indian cook for the whole place.
