Restaurant Schlotfeger in Erlangen

Very nice restaurant with great staff. Meat is very good. Unfortunately, side dishes are a mix of fresh and convenience. Fried potatoes from a bag really don't work at all.

The inside looks a bit old-fashioned, what you can also see is the open grill. The menu is huge, tons of steaks, side dishes, and sauces (!?!). The steaks are amazing, the side dishes are also great.

Very good steaks cooked to perfection with plenty of side dishes, even vegetarians don't miss out. The service is friendly and on point. The prices are reasonable. Gladly again at any time😊

Actually everything was great. Only the ambience in the back room is a bit sober.

Unfortunately, our visit yesterday was not a good one! First we noticed that a grill plate for 2 people was on the menu for €80. The same grill plate for ONE person was listed on the same menu as €29.90. Of course we chose two grill plates for ONE person each (saved €20), which the service took up more or less willy nilly... The porcini mushroom cream soup we ordered in advance was OK, but then things went downhill rapidly: the meat on the grill was good, but the side dishes (peas, carrots and corn were warmed up from a can, and the "fried potatoes" were from the deep fryer (which the host also admitted!) so they were more or less inedible... When we complained about this to the landlord when paying, he was very pissed off and basically assumed that we had no idea - customer acquisition works differently! Conclusion: Not recommended, which is also reflected in the reaction of the waitress and boss: zero ability to criticize, zero goodwill, zero customer orientation!

The food was unforgettably good. The meat melted in your mouth; it was a veritable explosion of flavor. The fried potatoes were just what you'd imagine. The vanilla ice cream with hot raspberries was amazing. Full stars from me. I'd go back anytime. I absolutely recommend it. If you want good food, go to Schlotfeger. The only downside: we unfortunately had to wait 45 minutes for the food. But that won't stop me from coming back anytime.

When it comes to meat and steak, Schlotfeger is my absolute favorite restaurant in Erlangen. I've only eaten my steak here for a long time and I always leave the shop with a smile. The service is top, as is the quality. I can only recommend it to everyone. The insider tip is the garlic bread as a starter!

So I was there I took the fillet steak! That was really really good! The best steak I've had so far. The ambience is a bit old, but that didn't bother me at all. All in all a very good restaurant! 5 stars!

I would prefer 0!! give STARS. It simply has absolutely nothing to do with the old chimney sweep anymore. We were first greeted by a cloud of smoke from the waitress, who had been smoking right in front of the entrance door. Sometimes the meat wasn't as ordered at all, regardless of whether you ordered medium or rare. Apart from the baked potatoes, the side dishes were all ready-made products and tasted accordingly. The service is terrible and seems like there isn't much experience in the catering industry. You have to point out that the glasses are empty, things that were ordered were forgotten and in general it just seemed listless. Accordingly, I decided not to tip if the amount was over 400. We just weren't completely satisfied. We have been regular customers for over 20 years and are really deeply disappointed that it no longer has anything to do with the chimney sweep from before. The ambience has changed towards a train station pub, unfortunately. Luckily there is an alternative in Erlangen at Lorleberg Platz - this will be our new regular restaurant 🤪🥰

The meat was really ideally grilled.

We were there for the first time. Overall OK. Unfortunately it was in Locally a bit fresh. The food overall was also OK. The meat was very well seasoned. Unfortunately, the food was cold within a short time, side dishes (there were several of us) came before the main courses, which of course led to it cooling down more quickly. In addition, one of the waiters was a bit sweaty, which did not particularly lead to olfactory euphoria.

I treated myself to a steak and fries. But then I was still hungry and ordered more mussels. Now I was in the gym and they said I was too fat. Ok, but it was worth it!

Everything is a bit old-fashioned, including the menu. I had to keep my starter cutlery for the main course. The extra sauce “Schlotfeger” (€3.50) was with canned mushrooms. All in all, I expect more from a steakhouse.

It's a shame, but it has nothing to do with relaxing, good dining! Louder than at the Erlanger train station, conversation is hardly possible. The service was only so-so, side dishes came during the starter. Very suspicious. So you won't see us there any more so quickly.

Excellent steaks, cooked to perfection. The new boss, who had been at the grill here for years, took over the restaurant a few years ago and almost completely replaced the staff. The waiter Niko is particularly missing😔 But the food and especially the steaks are still unsurpassed. The best steakhouse in Erlangen and far beyond.

On Saturday November 16th, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. we were there with a reservation, 4 people in front of us were assigned to their table and sat down. Our table was just cleared by a waitress, the 4 people who were already sitting didn't like the table they had reserved, to our regret they then got our table, I thought it was outrageous to complain, but no one was interested. The quality of the food has also declined; it was much better with the old owner. I can't recommend it any further.

Good steaks, the rest is average at best. When it comes to side dishes, the emphasis is on convenience; some of them are smarter in the lunch canteen. Fried fried potatoes and canned vegetables, salad buffet 08/15... Furnishings, dishes, etc. are getting old, at best rustic charm.

It was my first time here and I have to say that I am absolutely thrilled. The ambience doesn't quite suit my taste, but the food was absolutely top notch. I haven't eaten such a delicious steak in years. Cooked to perfection (medium) and very tender. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I can recommend it without hesitation.

Cena di famiglia,locale scelto con ricerca su Tripadvisor. Menu prevalentemente a base di carne con scelte però anche per vegetariani. Carne buona e molto morbida ,abbiamo scelto del filetto alla griglia molto semplice poiché non amiamo le salse e gli intingoli. Anche i dolci molto buoni, il personale gentile e veloce nel servizio. Ci sentiamo assolutamente di consigliarlo.

The meat was good. The rest is unfortunately forgettable. The wrong dish was served and no apology was even given. The mushrooms in the sauce and with the chimney sweep skewer from the can. Side dishes were served on cold plates and the food was generally very carelessly served. Glasses not really clean. When we were asked if everything was okay and we expressed our criticism, the waitress simply left and the waiter at the end simply objected. Unfortunately, the ambience has little to do with a steakhouse. It has more of the charm of a train station restaurant. The price-performance ratio doesn't match here.

The garlic bread as a starter was nice and soft, juicy and tasted deliciously intensely of garlic. The fillet steak with princess beans was very tasty. The meat was tender and juicy and the beans were nice and crunchy with diced bacon. The chocolate brownie at the end rounded everything off perfectly. Conclusion: Delicious food, very friendly staff and a nice atmosphere.

Went here for the first time and was really impressed by the quality of the meat. Fresh from the grill, beautifully served. There is a good, extensive salad buffet. Lots of choice of sauces and side dishes. Definitely worth a visit.

Friendly staff, tasty food, generous portions. The restaurant looks newly renovated, and the Steaks are cooked on charcoal grill. Tried the Chimney sweep plate 2x250 g, skewer made from beef fillet, pork loin and grilled bacon, with vegetables, 2 sauces and duchess potatoes…very good! The veggies were overcooked so they didn’t have a crunch to them, but overall they were good. The meal came with soups so we tried the cream of mushroom soup and French onion soup. Both were very tasty. To finish off the meal we chose the crepe for dessert and it was nice. Would definitely recommend trying them out if you’re in the area.

My steak was well prepared and tasted very tasty. The hazu sauce wasn't bad but couldn't keep up with the steak. The team was very friendly but some seemed inexperienced. There is room for improvement in terms of ambience 😉. Anyone who makes such good steaks should also make sure that the furnishings don't look like "just had it". Overall, however, recommended!

There were three of us who ate there, with a reservation. I personally had lamb salmon with princess beans and princess potatoes. What can I say, the meat was fried to perfection, seasoned excellently, extremely tender and melted in your mouth! The side dishes were really only secondary, although they were also extremely tasty. The only thing missing was a little sauce, but I could have ordered it at any time and it's also a matter of taste. Dessert was also super delicious and visually very appealing. Service and kitchen were very friendly, but unfortunately a bit overwhelmed. All hell broke loose that evening, the tables were actually double occupied, but they tried very hard and immediately apologized for a mistake and immediately corrected it. So everything is great! The only thing I didn't like was that we were basically seated at a table with strangers and then the clothes definitely had to be completely washed because everything smelled extremely like a barbecue. But an absolute recommendation for eating delicious steaks!

Top steak restaurant with absolutely sensational meat quality and taste. The French onion soup is a secret tip. The service, ambience and room climate can be improved, but that's complaining at a high level.

The food was great, the waitresses were very nice and accommodating. There is a good selection of beer. Only the ambience is not that nice. You might have to place the tables differently, set them up differently. Still great though. Everyone at the table loved the food.

Mal wieder der Klassiker - ein "Steakrestaurant". Medium bestellt - ein Steak nach Schlotfeger Art. Es kommt lieblos auf den Teller mit Kräuter-Fett-Paste geklatscht - Beilage auf den Teller daneben. Aber das wäre ja ok. Nicht ok: das Steak war komplett roh innen (also selbst von medium rare weit entfernt - der Franzose würde es vermutlich als "bleu" bezeichnen). Einmal und nie wieder - ich bin es leid hohe Preise zu zahlen für ein völlig zähes weil rohes Stück Fleisch zu zahlen. Gartemperaturen sind kein Hexenwerk und in einem Restaurant das sich Steaks auf die Fahne schreibt sollte man medium schon erwischen. Und medium heißt kein bisschen roh in der Mitte.

Mein Essen gabs tatsächlich nichts auszusetzen. Steaks und Beilagen waren gut. Leider ist das ganze drumherum nicht sehr gemütlich. Man fühlt sich möglichst schnell abgefertigt. Räume sind vollgestopft mit Tischen, man bekommt ein Kantinenfeeling. Uns hat es überhaupt nicht gefallen, obwohl das Essen eigentlich ok war. Bei der Preisklasse muss auch alles andere passen. Werden nicht mehr kommen
