Das beste Steakhaus weit und breit. Ganz lieber Gastgeber, mit tollem Personal, immer sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir fühlen uns hier immer sehr willkommen und wohl. Das Filetsteak ist vom Holzkohlegrill ein wahrer Genuss. Unbedingt empfehlenswert 😍🫶❤️

Sehr gutes Steakhaus. Ich hatte ein Filetsteak - Medium gebraten, meine Kollegen hatten ebenfalls perfekte Steaks. Alles super, top Service. Wir werden beim nächsten Erlangen Besucj wieder kommen.

Ich hatte Rumpsteak 250gr medium gebraten. Das Restaurant war sauber, dennoch hat mir persönlich die Inneneinrichtung nicht so gefallen. Dachte es wäre etwas rustikaler. Der Service war freundlich und zuvorkommend. Salat gibt es vom Buffet zum selbst zusammenstellen. Das ist leider nicht so meins. Habe mich daher für Mais Gemüse als Beilage entschieden.

Wir waren heute dort essen das Restaurant sieht schön aus wir hatten einen gute Platz das Personal super freundlich ohne aufdringlich zu sein die steaks waren super ich hatte eine hüftsteakplatte mit Gemüse und Kroketten das Fleisch war genau auf den punkt dir portion war für mich sehr groß aber es war ein sehr gutes Gericht preislich war es für die menge an Fleisch und Beilagen nicht zu teuer wir kommen aufjedenfall wieder

Absolutes Muss bei jedem Erlangen Besuch. Das Steak ist immer perfekt auf den Punkt. Empfehlung für die Soße „Madagaskar“.

Mein absolutes Lieblingsrestaurant. Selbst wenn ich mal nicht mehr in der Region wohne, werde ich noch dahinfahren. Dringende Empfehlungen für jeden, der in/um Erlangen essen gehen will. Ich war noch nie ein einem Restaurant, wo das Steak so auf den Punkt war

Ich war heute mit einer Gruppe Steak-Fans im Schlotfeger – die anderen waren durchweg begeistert. Für mich als Vegetarierin fiel das Fazit allerdings etwas anders aus. Besonders irritiert hat mich das Knoblauchbrot: Irgendetwas darin/darauf hatte einen extrem eigenwilligen, intensiven Geschmack, den ich so unangenehm fand, dass ich nach dem ersten Bissen keinen zweiten mehr nehmen konnte. Der Rest der Truppe hingegen hat das Brot dann aber zu meiner Überraschung gerne aufgegessen. Sie haben sich an dieser für mich Würgereiz erzeugenden Note überhaupt nicht gestört. Unglücklich war zudem, dass auch mein Salat mit Croutons serviert wurde, die geschmacklich in eine sehr ähnliche Richtung gingen. Selbst nachdem ich sie herausgesammelt hatte, hatte sich die Note bereits im Salat verteilt, sodass sie für mich weiterhin im gesamten Salat wahrnehmbar blieb. Den ganzen Abend habe ich zuhause dann noch darüber nachgegrübelt, was dem Brot diesen gruseligen Geschmack verliehen haben könnte. Dass es etwas Vegetarisches war, kann ich mir fast nicht vorstellen. Lobend hervorheben möchte ich jedoch, dass alle Gerichte gleichzeitig serviert wurden, was ich sehr wichtig finde. Außerdem wurde insgesamt schnell und unkompliziert reagiert: Nachdem meine ursprüngliche Bestellung (Avocado mit Salat und Knoblauchbrot) für mich nicht essbar war, kam eine nachbestellte Portion Pommes frites innerhalb weniger Minuten – offenbar dank des reibungslosen Zusammenspiels von Service und Küche.

Hervorragende Steaks, auf den Punkt gebraten. Der neue Chef, der hier vorher schon jahrelang am Grill stand, hat das Lokal vor einigen Jahren übernommen und das Personal fast komplett ausgetauscht. Aber das Essen und vor allem die Steaks sind nach wie vor unübertroffen. Das beste Steakhaus in Erlangen und darüber hinaus.

Essen schmeckt sehr gut, allerdings sitzt man teilweise sehr eng mit seinen Tischnachbarn beieinander. An den Plätzen direkt an der Eingangstür ist es unter Umständen sehr zugig…

Mega leckeres Essen. Gargrade des Fleisches perfekt. Sehr große Portionen und super aufmerksamer Service. Für einen fairen Preis. Immer wieder gerne werden wir hier Essen gehen.

Es ist meist sehr voll und daher laut. Eine Reservierung ist empfehlenswert. Das Grillfleisch ist im Allgemeinen sehr lecker. Bisher hat mir alles, was ich bestellt habe, immer geschmeckt.

We were a group of 13. The food was consistently delicious 😋 and everyone was very happy with their main courses. However, the noise level in the restaurant was quite high – the acoustics could definitely be improved, as it was difficult to have a conversation. Unfortunately, the desserts didn't quite live up to the rest of the meal in terms of taste, and the price-performance ratio for the desserts wasn't ideal. Overall, though, it was a very good meal and a lovely experience.

It gets quite loud as the evening progresses, but the food and service are great.

It's been better! On a previous visit, I tried my husband's fried potatoes, and they were really crispy and flavorful. On Saturday, I ordered the fried potatoes for that reason, but unfortunately, they were completely soft and oily.

Oh man, I didn't think it was quite as good as I remembered. We were three adults, two teenagers aged 14 and 17, and the birthday girl was 11. One person had a steak; she was quite happy with the "perfectly cooked meat." The soups, Hokkaido and wild garlic, each with whipped cream, were good as expected. We vegetarians: two adults and two teenagers, were rather disappointed: we agreed that the snacks were of a good standard. Fried potatoes cooked in the deep fryer, deep-fried vegetable schnitzel, deep-fried turkey steak, and shredded salad, just like we'd expect from a very good kebab shop. The same was true of the deep-fried avocado, which we weren't expecting with a bill of €183 plus tip, which totaled €200 for us. The service was friendly and engaging, the ambiance was bright and crisp, but a bit too loud for our liking. The restrooms were spotlessly clean. I think it's perfect for steak lovers and long-time fans of the Schlotfeger. Unfortunately, it won't be suitable for our group anymore. My wish for the next visit: less frying, more cooking in the pan. Another point that led to the overall 3 stars: our clothes smell strongly of the food. Our jackets are now hanging on the balcony to air out.

The Schlotfeger in Erlangen is a solid steak restaurant in the upper price segment. The meat quality is very good – you can taste the attention paid to high-quality products. My steak was cooked to perfection, and the side dishes were also perfectly prepared. The atmosphere is stylish, modern, yet pleasantly relaxed. The service was friendly and professional, without being intrusive. The restaurant's prices are a bit higher, but this is in keeping with the quality offered and the overall concept. For a special evening or a good meal with a focus on meat, the Schlotfeger is definitely a good choice. As a foodie with a passion for cooking, I'd be happy to return for something special.

The meat dishes are highly recommended. You can choose the size of the piece yourself, and the desired degree of doneness is perfectly achieved on the charcoal grill.

We ate there again on July 29, 2025 (6 adults, 1 child). It was fantastic again. All the steaks were cooked to perfection. The flavors are simply amazing. The side dishes were also top-notch. I can't think of any better garlic bread. The young female server was very polite, courteous, and really on the ball. Special requests were no problem at all. We've never been disappointed in years, and the prices are really fair! Keep it up!

The quality of the steaks is very good, but the preparation is lacking. None of our steaks were cooked to the desired degree, and if you order medium-well but receive the steak rare, it's not just a close call. Unfortunately, the side dishes are a bit of a disappointment. I'd say the vegetables and fries are more like frozen food.

Actually everything was great. Only the ambience in the back room is a bit sober.

Unfortunately, our visit yesterday was not a good one! First we noticed that a grill plate for 2 people was on the menu for €80. The same grill plate for ONE person was listed on the same menu as €29.90. Of course we chose two grill plates for ONE person each (saved €20), which the service took up more or less willy nilly... The porcini mushroom cream soup we ordered in advance was OK, but then things went downhill rapidly: the meat on the grill was good, but the side dishes (peas, carrots and corn were warmed up from a can, and the "fried potatoes" were from the deep fryer (which the host also admitted!) so they were more or less inedible... When we complained about this to the landlord when paying, he was very pissed off and basically assumed that we had no idea - customer acquisition works differently! Conclusion: Not recommended, which is also reflected in the reaction of the waitress and boss: zero ability to criticize, zero goodwill, zero customer orientation!

The food was unforgettably good. The meat melted in your mouth; it was a veritable explosion of flavor. The fried potatoes were just what you'd imagine. The vanilla ice cream with hot raspberries was amazing. Full stars from me. I'd go back anytime. I absolutely recommend it. If you want good food, go to Schlotfeger. The only downside: we unfortunately had to wait 45 minutes for the food. But that won't stop me from coming back anytime.

When it comes to meat and steak, Schlotfeger is my absolute favorite restaurant in Erlangen. I've only eaten my steak here for a long time and I always leave the shop with a smile. The service is top, as is the quality. I can only recommend it to everyone. The insider tip is the garlic bread as a starter!

So I was there I took the fillet steak! That was really really good! The best steak I've had so far. The ambience is a bit old, but that didn't bother me at all. All in all a very good restaurant! 5 stars!

I would prefer 0!! give STARS. It simply has absolutely nothing to do with the old chimney sweep anymore. We were first greeted by a cloud of smoke from the waitress, who had been smoking right in front of the entrance door. Sometimes the meat wasn't as ordered at all, regardless of whether you ordered medium or rare. Apart from the baked potatoes, the side dishes were all ready-made products and tasted accordingly. The service is terrible and seems like there isn't much experience in the catering industry. You have to point out that the glasses are empty, things that were ordered were forgotten and in general it just seemed listless. Accordingly, I decided not to tip if the amount was over 400. We just weren't completely satisfied. We have been regular customers for over 20 years and are really deeply disappointed that it no longer has anything to do with the chimney sweep from before. The ambience has changed towards a train station pub, unfortunately. Luckily there is an alternative in Erlangen at Lorleberg Platz - this will be our new regular restaurant 🤪🥰

The meat was really ideally grilled.

We were there for the first time. Overall OK. Unfortunately it was in Locally a bit fresh. The food overall was also OK. The meat was very well seasoned. Unfortunately, the food was cold within a short time, side dishes (there were several of us) came before the main courses, which of course led to it cooling down more quickly. In addition, one of the waiters was a bit sweaty, which did not particularly lead to olfactory euphoria.

I treated myself to a steak and fries. But then I was still hungry and ordered more mussels. Now I was in the gym and they said I was too fat. Ok, but it was worth it!

Everything is a bit old-fashioned, including the menu. I had to keep my starter cutlery for the main course. The extra sauce “Schlotfeger” (€3.50) was with canned mushrooms. All in all, I expect more from a steakhouse.

It's a shame, but it has nothing to do with relaxing, good dining! Louder than at the Erlanger train station, conversation is hardly possible. The service was only so-so, side dishes came during the starter. Very suspicious. So you won't see us there any more so quickly.
