XII Apostel Köln in Köln

My wife and I ate there yesterday and both had different pasta dishes. Both dishes tasted completely bland, and the pasta was mushy. Due to the way the dish was served and after eating the first portion of the pasta, I left the dish (almost entirely). The waiter asked why. I explained it to him objectively and politely, which he then reported to his shift supervisor, who said he would ask for an alternative. However, even after about 15 minutes, there was no response, and I asked for the bill. When I paid the bill, another waiter came and told me that the shift supervisor had "flipped" him and said he wasn't allowed to do anything, not even as a courtesy. The waiter's last remark was: "Unfortunately, this happens quite often here, but no customer ever says anything, and if they do, they get stubborn."

Really terrible food for the price. Both fish and meat badly cooked, even the potatoes. I was there for work but a real disappointment

A scam. In 2020, no allergen labeling should be disqualification enough. When asked what the vegan Bolognese consists of, the first response is the humorously high-brow "meat." Upon repeated questioning, the kitchen is asked, and the more precise answer is "vegetables." No mention of the soy flakes. Thanks very much.

This used to be a good Italian restaurant. Between 2006 and 2013, I ate here quite often and stayed in the "attached hotel." Today, it seems rather mediocre to me, and at 9:20 p.m., you're told that the kitchen is closing. There was still a Caesar salad in the menu. It was okay and well prepared. Only the dressing was more like mayonnaise than Caesar dressing. A poor performance for just under 20 euros. I asked if I could sit in the inner garden. This was declined because "it's closing now." From the outside, you have a good view over the Heumarkt, but the passing beggars and accordion terrorists spoil the fun a bit. Next time, I'll only come if I can sit either inside in the garden or in the restaurant. Then I'd also like to try a hot dish (pizza, pasta) from the kitchen. Try harder. You can do better.

Unfortunately, this store is continually declining. The location is great, and I've been a big fan for a long time. But recently, I've been repeatedly disappointed by little things, and now I've finally moved on as a customer. What a shame! ...also, the store advertises a Sunday brunch online, but in reality, it's closed on Sundays!

Service was friendly and courteous. A salad for €15.30 is simply outrageous. Four large lettuce leaves, four slices of cucumber, one quartered tomato, and two peppers for €15.30!

The Italian cuisine was a poem – prepared with love, fresh, aromatic, and simply heavenly. Although the roots are clearly Italian, the enjoyment was international. Each dish told its own story and was a perfect fit for our day: authentic, loving, and unforgettable. We are grateful for this experience and would do it again anytime. The XII Apostel made our special day even more beautiful.

The antipasti and pizza were very, very tasty. The service was courteous and prompt. We didn't have to wait long. The courtyard is a lovely place to sit.

I was out with friends and it started to rain. So we went in there and got a spot. We ordered drinks and food. The service worked excellently. The drinks and food came quite quickly. Unfortunately my food was missing. After a while, I asked. After that the food came quickly.

I have eaten at XII Apostle twice with my family so far. Both evenings were great and we had a really nice table in the courtyard. In addition to the food, the staff, especially the waiter Gisi, was a highlight for us with his good mood and funny, cheerful manner! We will definitely come back!!

Here you can sit outside beautifully and eat very well, the service is very good. And the ambience cannot be topped when the weather is nice. The price/performance ratio is very good for the location. There's nothing to complain about, on the contrary, the dough was too thin in the middle for the generous topping. is readily accepted for the very good quality of the ingredients.

The food: The dishes were clearly too lightly seasoned and seemed as if the kitchen had shown a little too much restraint. Even after seasoning, the typical Italian flavor kick was missing. It's a shame - more would have been possible here! The hygiene: The toilets weren't as clean (all the toilet seats were pissed on) as one would like, and the unpleasant smell spoiled the stay. A little more cleanliness would really be desirable. Price-performance: The prices are certainly fair, but if the taste and cleanliness are not right, that quickly becomes relativized. Conclusion: The XII Apostle could certainly score points with more attention to detail in the kitchen and more regular cleaning. Unfortunately, we are left disappointed and will think twice about eating here next time.

Food was very, very tasty. We ordered lasagna and I thought it was a bit small. The service was very attentive and friendly, everything was very clean. The ambience is also nice. Bigger with nice high ceilings. Unfortunately, table at the table. It was very quiet and empty for us that day. I can imagine that when it's full it could get loud and the cozy feeling gets lost and becomes cramped. But otherwise highly recommended.

The waiter was top. But change the kitchen chef. The Geilenkirchen Teller Apostle grill plate has been top for the last 5 years. Now flop.

The restaurants here are so beautiful and big, the food is served very quickly, and the waiters are also very friendly. They will ask you if you want to order more, or how is today's dish? It feels very good.

March 2023 Very nice restaurant with quite a large menu printed in the style of a newspaper which is a nice touch. Beer was good and waiter was ok, I would use again. Seems I was correct, I visited again March 2025, it was even better, and the waiter was very helpful, suggesting great dishes. We will be back.

Rictig gutes italienisches Lokal im Herzen von Köln. Wir haben Pizzen gegessen, die beide sehr frisch und lecker waren. Service war extrem aufmerksam und Preis-/Leistung hat auch gepasst. Kann man empfehlen.

Didn't eat there so can't judge food. Check-in was without staff so no interaction or experience with customer service. The location is very good but this hotel clearly needs an upgrade. Carpets in stair case are dirty and worn.

Some employees are very rude. The pizza is very dry. When I said that, he smiled mockingly and said, “Would you like coffee or something?” I don't recommend it.

We had 2 salads. The chicken was very dry and I personally didn't like the bread provided. The prices are far too high for the quality. 7.9€ for a bottle of water. I can't recommend the restaurant and won't be coming back myself.

I've always had good experiences here so far. Friendly staff greet guests. Food (pizza) was great and tasty. In the back there is an inner courtyard in summer where you can sit and relax. Just beautiful. I'd love to come back

Das war wirklich das schlechteste Essen, was ich jemals gegessen habe! Die Pizza hat nach nichts geschmeckt, war in der Mitte total matschig j d sie war sehr sorsam belegt. Schöne Atmosphäre und sehr angenehme Kellner, aber ansonsten überteuert. Nie wieder! Der Caesar Salat war geschmacklos und absolut nichtssagend - für fast 20euro!!

Went for Sunday brunch today. Totally disappointed, breakfast selection was totally reduced. Very little selection of sausages. Lunch was just lukewarm. Lasagna was burnt on top. We had vouchers from 2023, valid for 2 years, a surcharge of €3 per person had to be paid because the prices had been raised. This surcharge is not noted anywhere and it is not clear that this can happen. Besides, I don't think that's legal, I have signed a contract.

Super nice staff, Abdul in particular fulfills every wish. Even off the map. We really like the “large” children’s pizza for children up to 12 years old. You can really go out to eat with two children without spending a fortune. Always happy.

Wir wollten am 15.01.2025 nach dem Molin Rouge Besuch noch essen gehen. War leider zu. Gott sei Dank. Als ich durch ein freies Stück ins Küchenfenster sehen konnte (die Küche war beleuchtet), zählte ich zehn frei laufende Mäuse in der Küche. Das sollte einem zu denken geben.

Die Pozza war eigentlich gut bevor ich die Mäuse auf dem Boden sah . Hier hatten die Mäuse auf dem Boden das sagen . Irgendwie eklig !

Great food...and very nice service, everything was great

The food tasted very good. It's a little more expensive but extremely good. Very friendly service. The two of us were there spontaneously and got a table straight away. However, reservations are generally requested. I really like the atmosphere there and the time just flies. The XII Apostles is centrally located on the Heumarkt and can also be easily reached by public transport. I would like to eat there again in the next few days.

What an amazing hotel. My friend and I came for the Christmas Markets. This hotel overlooks one of the markets. Everywhere was clean. The checkin was great. Our room overlooked the market. It was amazing. The room was huge and very clean. There was a large hallway with a massive bathroom to the side. The bathroom had a rainhead shower and a shower lower down. There were shower caps available as well as sewing kits. The bedroom was big with a huge double bed. There was a settee and two buffet chairs. The room was heated by radiators which were super hot when it was cold. There's a small fridge in the room and complimentary bottles of water. There are also slippers. The bathroom was very slippery when wet. My only moan was that I don't drink coffee and the machine to get hot water was a coffee machine. It took forever to try and get the coffee taste from the machine to make a cup of tea. It wasn't the end of the world. We also ate in the restaurant downstairs and had a pizza. The pizzas were delicious and washed down with the local beer. The staff both in the hotel and restaurant were very good. I have already booked this hotel for this December for the Christmas markets. We didn't have any problem with noise at night from the market below.

Amazingly professional and speedy service. We were there after the Christmas market and didn't have too much time. We were therefore pleasantly surprised at how quickly and very friendly everything was handled by Abdul. Our order was delivered to the kitchen immediately, drinks arrived promptly, the food arrived in no time and was excellent! Unusually good for such a tourist location.

We ate there the day before yesterday and I have to say that the pizzas are very, very good [no matter what] depending on what ingredients you like. I had the Vittelo Tonnato as a starter and I have to say that the slices were too thick and so the aroma couldn't develop properly. Service top and very friendly. Unfortunately, the food wasn't entirely convincing. The chicken pasta was disappointing. The chicken was obviously old and had been reheated, which was evident in both the taste and the unpleasant smell. Unfortunately, this greatly affected the enjoyment of the dish. The pizza and wine, on the other hand, were okay. Overall, I would have liked more freshness and quality in the dishes. While the service was commendable, the poor chicken dish left a negative impression, so I'm not sure I would come again.

Nachdem ich mich jetzt endlich registriert habe, muss ich das jetzt loswerden. Dieses Restaurant ist unsauber, Abzocke und aufdringlich. Mein Bruder hatte das Abendessen am 24.12 gebucht. Das ist schon mal ungewöhnlich an Heiligabend irgendwo in Köln noch was frei ist, jetzt weiß ich warum. Wir haben wirklich sehr gute Restaurants in meiner Heimat, aber dieses auf keinen Fall. Der Kellner wollte nach den Getränken, sofort die Vorspeise eintragen. Da die Speisekarte aus einer Zeitung gelesen werden muss, und alles klein geschrieben ist, habe ich um Bedenkzeit gebeten. Okay, alles jut. Der war zwei Minuten später wieder da, was ist denn jetzt mit der Vorspeise. Weil Heiligabend und wie alle glücklich, so ne Schinkenvorspeise, und ich und meine Mutti Forcaccio, oder wie das heißt. Das kam dann ziemlich schnell. Alle am Tisch waren enttäuscht. Foccatio für 12,80. Ok. Dann haben wir wirklich 70 Minuten auf die Hauptspeise gewartet. Roastbeef für 2 Personen, bitte ein bisschen durchgebraten, es kam fast roh. Das Blut lief runter. Ich habe noch gesagt, ich bin kein Vampir. Ignoriert. Leute, Köln hat soviele gute Restaurants. Da bitte nicht hin. Reine Abzocke und gehört nicht in meine Heimat, nie wieder.

Full and very loud at Christmas, but great service and food was good too

They let us in without reservation. A bit loud. We ordered pasta (Paglia e Fieno con Pollo) with chicken breast but the chicken was old and had a bad smell. We told the waiter who brought us another plate of the same order fast but also same issue. Supper disgusting smell and taste! The pizza (Pizza Matteo) and wine were good.

Speedy service and superb food!

We had pasta which was good. Service was partially good and partially quite rude (lady who brought our plates was rude, but the water was very friendly).

We made reservations the past year (as we always do) for the samenrooms but we don't have a room by arrival. They dus make the effort to find us 2 cheaper but smaller rooms. The were clean and good. Breakfasts buffet gets more simple every year and the coffee machine status problematic.

Un fantástico bar / restaurante. El servicio fue fantástico. Asiento exterior cómodo con mantas y calentadores del clima más frío. Gran ubicación justo fuera del mercado de Navidad. Muy recomendable

Anitpasti was best aan de prijs. Verder waren de pizza’s heerlijk maar de pasta’s zijn echt geen aanraders. Bediening was zeer vriendelijk, maar wat erg storend was de bel van de keuken waar flink op gemept werd.
