One of the better restaurants in the tourist area. Positive: Professional welcome. Delicious, perfectly cooked salmon, a tasty ham dish that we enjoyed as an aperitif. The gratin was rather dry. Friendly service. Slightly less impressive. The spinach on the main course was very salty. The waiter was knowledgeable when choosing the wine.

Seven of us had dinner (salad/pasta/pizza). Despite the excellent service, the dishes were very expensive compared to the quantity/quality. I paid an extra €3 for burratta on my pasta, but the burratta seemed to have come straight from the freezer, solid, and tasteless (see photo). Personally, I wouldn't recommend it; it's more of a tourist trap than good food.

On a sunny Saturday, we spontaneously grabbed a bite to eat with our destination musical. We went to the best restaurant, we both had a delicious pizza, the staff all had a smile on their faces, everything went quickly as planned, the only criticism was that the knife was a bit blunt, the plate was warm, and so was the food.

The hotel's location can't be topped. Simply perfect. However, we wouldn't want to stay longer than one night; the rooms are small, not particularly well-equipped, and, aside from the cleanliness, they're okay for a quick night's sleep. The service at the reception was friendly. The breakfast was nothing special, but adequate. €15 is okay in terms of value for money, though. However, you can also get some really tasty things locally for that price.

All of the pizzas were incredibly dry. And the scampi or salmon scampi pizza only had three tiny pieces of salmon and three small scampi. All in all, unfortunately, it was very disappointing. I wish I'd read the reviews beforehand, as I celebrated my birthday there yesterday with 12 people and spent a lot of money, none of whom liked their pizza. Unfortunately, that made it a complete disappointment.

More than 17€ for a poor BURRATTA (photos as proof) I call this theft and it's July so tomato season (the one I received is hard, not even ripe and tasteless) the Burrata is hard as a rock and very small in size too we wonder if it's not wholesalers like Metro. Too bad because I've been coming here for years to eat pizzas which are excellent and now I won't set foot there again because I'm often in Cologne for work... I hope to get a response from the establishment on this scam!!

The pizza was very dry, with neither tomatoes nor mozzarella visible or tasty. The Italian ham and arugula looked unappetizing to me, as if they'd been "thrown on" with the cheese. Especially the "Parmesan" I requested (unfortunately, Grana Padano) from the plastic container—a no-go for an Italian restaurant. I might as well just eat a ready-made pizza. It's a real shame, because overall it's a lovely restaurant in a great location! The staff were very friendly, though!

My wife and I ate there yesterday and both had different pasta dishes. Both dishes tasted completely bland, and the pasta was mushy. Due to the way the dish was served and after eating the first portion of the pasta, I left the dish (almost entirely). The waiter asked why. I explained it to him objectively and politely, which he then reported to his shift supervisor, who said he would ask for an alternative. However, even after about 15 minutes, there was no response, and I asked for the bill. When I paid the bill, another waiter came and told me that the shift supervisor had "flipped" him and said he wasn't allowed to do anything, not even as a courtesy. The waiter's last remark was: "Unfortunately, this happens quite often here, but no customer ever says anything, and if they do, they get stubborn."

This used to be a good Italian restaurant. Between 2006 and 2013, I ate here quite often and stayed in the "attached hotel." Today, it seems rather mediocre to me, and at 9:20 p.m., you're told that the kitchen is closing. There was still a Caesar salad in the menu. It was okay and well prepared. Only the dressing was more like mayonnaise than Caesar dressing. A poor performance for just under 20 euros. I asked if I could sit in the inner garden. This was declined because "it's closing now." From the outside, you have a good view over the Heumarkt, but the passing beggars and accordion terrorists spoil the fun a bit. Next time, I'll only come if I can sit either inside in the garden or in the restaurant. Then I'd also like to try a hot dish (pizza, pasta) from the kitchen. Try harder. You can do better.

I have eaten at XII Apostle twice with my family so far. Both evenings were great and we had a really nice table in the courtyard. In addition to the food, the staff, especially the waiter Gisi, was a highlight for us with his good mood and funny, cheerful manner! We will definitely come back!!

A little more cleanliness would really be desirable. Price-performance: The prices are certainly fair, but if the taste and cleanliness are not right, that quickly becomes relativized. Conclusion: The XII Apostle could certainly score points with more attention to detail in the kitchen and more regular cleaning. Unfortunately, we are left disappointed and will think twice about eating here next time.

Food was very, very tasty. We ordered lasagna and I thought it was a bit small. The service was very attentive and friendly, everything was very clean. The ambience is also nice. March 2023 Very nice restaurant with quite a large menu printed in the style of a newspaper which is a nice touch. Beer was good and waiter was ok, I would use again. Seems I was correct, I visited again March 2025, it was even better, and the waiter was very helpful, suggesting great dishes. We will be back.

Didn't eat there so can't judge food. Check-in was without staff so no interaction or experience with customer service. The location is very good but this hotel clearly needs an upgrade. Carpets in stair case are dirty and worn.

Schöne Atmosphäre und sehr angenehme Kellner, aber ansonsten überteuert. Nie wieder! Der Caesar Salat war geschmacklos und absolut nichtssagend - für fast 20euro!!

Went for Sunday brunch today. Totally disappointed, breakfast selection was totally reduced. Very little selection of sausages. Lunch was just lukewarm. Lasagna was burnt on top. We had vouchers from 2023, valid for 2 years, a surcharge of €3 per person had to be paid because the prices had been raised. This surcharge is not noted anywhere and it is not clear that this can happen. Besides, I don't think that's legal, I have signed a contract.
