Can’t enjoy the food for the mice running around customers feet . If it doesn’t bother you to have mice around your feet while eating dinner, ugh!! We saw 4 mice while trying to have dinner and the manager said they couldn’t do anything about the mice being by the river . Not true , they can do better!!

Ich bin in diesem Restaurant, fußläufig von meinem Hotel aus erreichbar, zum Diner eingekehrt. Die Location verfügt über einen großen Innenbereich und ein schönes Exterieur. Das Lokal war sehr gut besucht – das sollte für die Qualität des Restaurants sprechen. Das Personal ist sehr nett. Die Speise ist in einer Art Tageszeitung integriert. Die Pizza »XII APOSTEL« (mit Tomate, Mozzarella, Scampi, Lachs, Frischkäse und Rucola) war sehr lecker.

Nothing is left to be desired here. Great food in a great atmosphere with very friendly, brisk staff. If there is anything to complain about at all, then the bread that was served with the starter was a bit bland - but very fresh, probably homemade. But since olive oil, balsamic vinegar and spices are on every table, you could season it yourself as you wish. Always happy ❤️

Vollkommen NICHT tragbar!!! Unter dem Tisch sind während des Abendessen 2 ( in Worten ZWEI ) Mäuse umhergelaufen. Geht gar nicht! Und der Gipfel der Unfähigkeit: die Restaurant-Chefin schiebt es auf die Stadt Köln! Keine Entschuldigung und kein Verantwortungsbewusstsein. Für uns als Touri nicht hinnehmbar. Haben die Pizzen dann stehen gelassen und (durften) ohne Bezahlung gehen. So eine Schande für ein eigentlich schönes Restaurant!! Wir sind nicht bei Ratatouille !!

Unfortunately, the restaurant has declined significantly. It used to be a pleasure to eat there. We ate there with the company and all colleagues were disappointed. Bread (which was no longer fresh) was served as a starter but without a dip. Unfortunately, my steak was Not medium fried as ordered and not particularly good either Seasoned.Generally there was a lack of seasoning in the dishes we ordered.The waiter was friendly and tried hard. We were very surprised when we discovered a mouse in the restaurant!!!

I have nothing to complain about Update from September 8th, 2024: The staff is still friendly and nice - also attentive. But actually I would also say that the restaurant has "declined". The pizza was still good. But the Kölsch (glasses) we received were not filled to the top. My friend then ordered a wheat beer - which unfortunately wasn't cold. We also saw a mouse boldly darting under the tables. We pointed out the mouse to the waitress - unfortunately she wasn't surprised. Maybe the mice are due to the old building or the open courtyard...maybe anything. But a mouse shouldn't feel comfortable in the guest room. I'm not sure if we'll come back again...

What a disappointment. The food was ok, but the lady in service was a disaster. Because of her carelessness, I was showered with a cocktail that fell off her tray and spilled on us. Pants and shoes were wet. I then sat there at the table, soaking wet. She didn't remove the puddles left on the next table. A used knife fell off her plate while she was clearing it and landed on my pants... the stain that was left behind ruined my pants... great! And not a word of apology or anything like that. This is how an evening can go on! Take a nice stroll through Cologne's old town in dirty clothes. A concession in the form of free drinks or a discount was not even considered. There was nothing to be gained except for a disturbed and uncertain smile. Drink orders had to be begged. Just like with the bill. Had to request multiple times. Never again to this restaurant. You can't be that desperate.

Actually I love this restaurant very much. Whenever we are in Cologne we eat there. Unfortunately, never again after today. My pizza was black/very burnt from the bottom. I complained about it, after 10 minutes they said it would take another 10 minutes, only because of other orders. My companion has already finished her food. After asking again after 10 minutes, she was told it was now going into the oven. We paid and left, this service, without any understanding, doesn't work for me at all. That's not how you treat customers!!! You'll never see me again!!!

The location is amazing. Tons of people out and about. Walking around and playing music in the square. The food here is good. Lots of options and everyone was able to find something they wanted to try. The service was ok. It was really busy so understandably the servers were busy but they seemed less than thrilled to be there. Not rude but not nice either.

TOURIST TRAP. HERE YOU DON'T LIVE ON REGULAR CUSTOMERS. The atmosphere is quite nice and the sanitary facilities are very large and clean. The service staff was extremely hectic and gave the impression that there was immense sales pressure on him, it was extremely reminiscent of a McDonald's ordering terminal made flesh, and the gentleman's pronunciation was also very indistinct, computer-like, as if pre-programmed. No emotion, no smile and no response to the guest whatsoever. There were three of us there and ordered pasta with chicken and mushrooms for €18.90, which also contained 3 quarter pieces of a small mushroom. The portion was more than manageable for the price. The Pizza Matteo €13.90, a classic margarita with additional basil, was quite sobering, the picture shows the entire amount of basil. You couldn't taste the oregano at all, the dough was clearly frozen and the mozzarella was sprinkled with cheese. The tomato sauce only consisted of unseasoned pureed tomatoes. The pasta with salmon €18.90 was quite tasty and well done, although the amount of salmon was just as manageable as the portion size. The Parmesan provided in the plastic only consisted of a wax edge.

In itself a nice restaurant centrally in Cologne. Unfortunately, in order to read the menu, you have to turn on your cell phone flashlight... the restaurant is very dark. The service was very nice and accommodating. The food tasted good. The pizza had good toppings and tasted good too. The portion of spagetti Bolognese was more for children and was only lukewarm. Generally an average Italian eatery in Cologne

Had dinner with 8 people today. Quality has deteriorated a lot. Staff overwhelmed. The cook dropped something blah blah blah. Had the zander fillet which was fried to death. I won't go here anymore.

The room, unfortunately without air conditioning, was available Fan but it didn't do much. So open the balcony door and that was super loud!!! Drinks were put there but without a bottle opener. Bed was ok. Breakfast was ok too

We like to eat outside when the weather is nice and then sit under the large awning that protects us from the sun and even a light shower. At lunchtime the restaurant offers a special price for a pizza of your choice and since the pizza is really big, you can get 2 plates for it. We really appreciate the friendly service and you feel well served.

We've been going to this restaurant for years and eating the Atomico pizza with very tasty sheep's cheese and salami! But this time we were very disappointed, the sheep's cheese is now a cheap bouncy feta and the salami is a cheaper product! In addition, there is once again a price increase of 1 euro on the pizza and the bottle of water! What a shame! It feels more and more expensive and the quality is decreasing more and more, like in many other restaurants now! We won't eat our favorite pizza there anymore!!!!

This spacious restaurant is centrally located in Cologne. The food is excellent and the service is also friendly and attentive. But why does everything have to be so fast? The dishes came one after the other way too quickly. This can be done a little slower so that you can enjoy the dishes and the restaurant more.

I was very disappointed with my recent visit. When I asked them to pack up the leftover pizza for me to take home, they didn’t provide a box or even a plastic bag. They just wrapped it in foil and handed it to me. This is not acceptable for a pizza place.

Wir waren schon häufig in den Restaurant und bisher immer zufrieden. Diesmal sind wir ohne zu essen gegangen. Wir bestellten 2 Kölsch und sagten dem Kellner, der Tisch sie schmutzig, schwarzer Ruß. Daraufhin warf der Kellner kommentarlos 2 Feuchttücher auf den Tisch und ging. Wir haben den Tisch notdürftig gereinigt, dabei ist ein Bierglas umgefallen. Nach dem ich das dem Kellner gesagt habe gab er mir einen, jetzt größeren Lappen und ging. Nach einer Beschwerde bei einer anderen Servicekraft behauptete er auch noch, er wollte gerade den Tisch reinigen. Service Stelle ich mir anders vorgestellt. Vielen Dank.

Wow, wow, wow. I can only recommend this restaurant. The ambience is simply great. Please look at the ceiling too, wow. The food was a dream. We had three kinds of pasta for two people. Simply class. The service was awesome. We were served very friendly. Thank you for that. If you are in Cologne, definitely visit this restaurant.

Located on Heumarkt, the restaurant offers Italian dishes at a fair price. The pizza was delicious, the wine was well tempered. No reason not to go there again the next time you visit Cologne.

Super laut (mehrere Junggesellen-Abschiede); keine Unterhaltung möglich; total dunkel (wir mussten zum lesen der Karte die Taschenlampe anmachen!); 1 Pizza wurde vergessen und kam später mit total matschigem Boden, sodass nur noch der Belag gegessen wurde; eine weitere Pizza war auch nicht lecker (Gorgonzola hat wie Seife geschmeckt). 2 Gäste waren danach Magen massig krank …. Fazit: nie wieder / Preis-Leistung stimmt null!!!

We arrived around lunchtime and saw quite a few free tables. A very friendly welcome: "Feel free to come closer and sit at a table of your choice." A lovingly designed card in the form of a newspaper offers the right solution for every hunger and thirst. Between 12:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. the pizza has a standard price of €12.80. The pizza has plenty of toppings and is huge! Everyone gets fed up here. The pizza is prepared very well, extras for the toppings can be ordered for a small additional charge. Price/performance for Cologne's old town TOP! My recommendation for those who are really hungry; If you can't make it, the leftovers will of course be packed without any problems. Another word about service: Everyone was very friendly, humorous and quick.

Went there for brunch on a Sunday. The selection at the breakfast buffet was great. Unfortunately, the warm dishes were not very spicy and cold (hence no 5 stars). Dessert selection was very good. Although there were few guests, the waiter came too rarely... But was otherwise very friendly. Price performance was okay, as long as you only ordered 1-2 drinks in addition to the free orange juice.

Trotz der vollen Innenstadt in Köln zur EM, aber an einem spielfreien Tag ohne Public Viewing kehrten wir spontan ins 12 Apostel ein. Sehr angenehmes Ambiente, überaus freundliche Bedienung, die sofort 2 Kerzen am Tisch anzündete und so direkt für eine heimelige Atmosphäre sorgte. Die Getränke kamen sehr schnell und die von uns bestellte Pizza dauerte auch nicht lange. Perfekt zubereitete Pizza Spinat mit Gorgonzola und eine ebenso leckere Matteo-Pizza. Sehr groß, sehr knusprig am Rande und, wie gesagt sehr lecker! Jeder vorbeieilende Kellner rief uns zu, ob wir noch etwas benötigen, ob es uns schmecke und wünschte guten Appetit. Wir waren positiv überrascht einen solch guten Service und ein gutes Essen zu adäquatem Preis zu bekommen. Eine Empfehlung für die Innenstadt Köln!

They served very uncooked foo. Really unprofessional.

I recently visited XII Apostel Giornale and had an extremely disappointing experience. The pasta we ordered was completely uncooked, making it inedible. Even the chef admitted that the quality of the pasta was not up to standard. It's unacceptable to serve such poorly prepared food to customers. I expected much better from a restaurant of this reputation. I will not be returning and do not recommend this place to anyone looking for a good dining experience.

Visited cologne during the Euro 2024 tournament. Stopped off for some beer and food. Great place. Really friendly staff, great food and great beer.

Were there 2 evenings. Service on the first evening was super nice. But on the second evening we were just shouted at by the waitress. Was probably a bit stressed.

Very good restaurant, nice atmosphere, nice fast service

Always delicious, whether pizza, pasta or salad, and large portions; beautiful winter garden at the restaurant, with an opening roof. During the week we were there without a reservation, but on the weekend I would recommend a reservation. Centrally located, right on the Heumarkt, parking garage in the immediate vicinity, but no problem with public transport either; KVB lines 1, 7 and 9 stop at Heumarkt as well as 1-2 bus lines.

We have enjoyed coming here for years, but if the service employees no longer want to do their job with heart, we will not come back and will now move our business meals elsewhere. Sorry, it just doesn't work that way anymore.

Last night we had dinner in this actually very nice restaurant in the center of Cologne. Personally, I have eaten at the 13th Apostle several times before. Unfortunately I have to say that it's no longer worth eating there. What we had on our plate was an absolute disgrace. Every recooked pasta is better!!! The little mouse under the table was amusing and made some guests scream😂. Staff okay, rest catastrophic! Any food stall nearby is better! Rethink your concept! Ciao

Considering that the Heumarkt is so touristy, the XII Apostle is a gem! Really pleasant atmosphere, delicious pizza and nice service. 🍕😋

Since 2011 I have been eating at XII Apostle again and again. In the first few years I was impressed by both the food and the service, as well as the lovely atmosphere. Unfortunately, I have to say that the service has deteriorated massively in the last 3 years. Now I only meet annoyed and sometimes very unfriendly waiters. At first I thought these were just stress-related exceptions. But unfortunately it is the rule. Last night was my last visit: there were 4 of us and we ordered 3 pizzas and one spaghetti bolognese. When the 3 pizzas arrive, they say that the Bolognese is now out and the 4th man should order something else while everyone around him is already eating. No more Bolognese at the Italian restaurant, the world I was born into no longer exists. We then canceled that, divided the large pizzas between us and we were all full. On the way home my stomach kicked in, so I had something to do with it for the whole night.

I visited this restaurant with my husband last week. It was simply enchanting again! The food absolutely fabulous! I had the spaghetti con scampi and my husband had the straw and hay. Aperitif was also just refreshingly delicious. The service was absolutely great too! It's been a long time since such a lovely and attentive waitress served me. Greetings to Sarah! High prices - little taste Yesterday I visited this "pizzeria" for the second time. Unfortunately, my second visit was just as disappointing as my first. The menu corresponds to any average pizzeria without setting any unusual or particularly appealing accents. The only thing that was noticeable was the high prices. Both my "Vitello Tonnato" and my "Judas" pizza were so disappointing in taste that I had to add a lot of salt, pepper and oil to create a taste. Only the pepperoni contained so much heat that it was inedible. Due to the thick and fluffy dough, I would describe the "Italian pizza" served to me as "American pizza". At my table of 10 people, everyone complained about the bland taste of their food, so that plenty of seasoning had to be added. Nobody showed any enthusiasm for the food they ordered. A positive aspect is the unusual ambience for a “pizzeria”. The service was also satisfactory. I can't explain why this "pizzeria" is rated so well by many guests and how one can survive economically in the long term with this poor service. It seems to be due to the location and the tourists in the old town.

Came for dinner sat by the window half a bottle of wine left from previous customer. Ordered food saw some mice under the next table called over waiter they explained they come inside nothing we can do if the door is open. Food arrived more mice running up table leg under my feet. Showed video to staff they said sorry packed up food in to go containers and left still wanted full payment. Arrived home with food not wanting to eat it. Please tell me this is not normal. Understand you get mice from time to time these had no fear residents.
