In itself a nice restaurant centrally in Cologne. Unfortunately, in order to read the menu, you have to turn on your cell phone flashlight... the restaurant is very dark. The service was very nice and accommodating. The food tasted good. The pizza had good toppings and tasted good too. The portion of spagetti Bolognese was more for children and was only lukewarm. Generally an average Italian eatery in Cologne

The room, unfortunately without air conditioning, was available Fan but it didn't do much. So open the balcony door and that was super loud!!! Drinks were put there but without a bottle opener. Bed was ok. Breakfast was ok too

Had dinner with 8 people today. Quality has deteriorated a lot. Staff overwhelmed. The cook dropped something blah blah blah. Had the zander fillet which was fried to death. I won't go here anymore.

We like to eat outside when the weather is nice and then sit under the large awning that protects us from the sun and even a light shower. At lunchtime the restaurant offers a special price for a pizza of your choice and since the pizza is really big, you can get 2 plates for it. We really appreciate the friendly service and you feel well served.

We've been going to this restaurant for years and eating the Atomico pizza with very tasty sheep's cheese and salami! But this time we were very disappointed, the sheep's cheese is now a cheap bouncy feta and the salami is a cheaper product! In addition, there is once again a price increase of 1 euro on the pizza and the bottle of water! What a shame! It feels more and more expensive and the quality is decreasing more and more, like in many other restaurants now! We won't eat our favorite pizza there anymore!!!!

This spacious restaurant is centrally located in Cologne. The food is excellent and the service is also friendly and attentive. But why does everything have to be so fast? The dishes came one after the other way too quickly. This can be done a little slower so that you can enjoy the dishes and the restaurant more.

I was very disappointed with my recent visit. When I asked them to pack up the leftover pizza for me to take home, they didn’t provide a box or even a plastic bag. They just wrapped it in foil and handed it to me. This is not acceptable for a pizza place.

Wir waren schon häufig in den Restaurant und bisher immer zufrieden. Diesmal sind wir ohne zu essen gegangen. Wir bestellten 2 Kölsch und sagten dem Kellner, der Tisch sie schmutzig, schwarzer Ruß. Daraufhin warf der Kellner kommentarlos 2 Feuchttücher auf den Tisch und ging. Wir haben den Tisch notdürftig gereinigt, dabei ist ein Bierglas umgefallen. Nach dem ich das dem Kellner gesagt habe gab er mir einen, jetzt größeren Lappen und ging. Nach einer Beschwerde bei einer anderen Servicekraft behauptete er auch noch, er wollte gerade den Tisch reinigen. Service Stelle ich mir anders vorgestellt. Vielen Dank.

Lekkere pizza burrata, wel een enorme portie voor een niet zo hoge prijs. Prijs/kwaliteit is dus zeker in orde. Het personeel was ook zeer vriendelijk

Wow, wow, wow. I can only recommend this restaurant. The ambience is simply great. Please look at the ceiling too, wow. The food was a dream. We had three kinds of pasta for two people. Simply class. The service was awesome. We were served very friendly. Thank you for that. If you are in Cologne, definitely visit this restaurant.

Located on Heumarkt, the restaurant offers Italian dishes at a fair price. The pizza was delicious, the wine was well tempered. No reason not to go there again the next time you visit Cologne.

Super laut (mehrere Junggesellen-Abschiede); keine Unterhaltung möglich; total dunkel (wir mussten zum lesen der Karte die Taschenlampe anmachen!); 1 Pizza wurde vergessen und kam später mit total matschigem Boden, sodass nur noch der Belag gegessen wurde; eine weitere Pizza war auch nicht lecker (Gorgonzola hat wie Seife geschmeckt). 2 Gäste waren danach Magen massig krank …. Fazit: nie wieder / Preis-Leistung stimmt null!!!

We arrived around lunchtime and saw quite a few free tables. A very friendly welcome: "Feel free to come closer and sit at a table of your choice." A lovingly designed card in the form of a newspaper offers the right solution for every hunger and thirst. Between 12:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. the pizza has a standard price of €12.80. The pizza has plenty of toppings and is huge! Everyone gets fed up here. The pizza is prepared very well, extras for the toppings can be ordered for a small additional charge. Price/performance for Cologne's old town TOP! My recommendation for those who are really hungry; If you can't make it, the leftovers will of course be packed without any problems. Another word about service: Everyone was very friendly, humorous and quick.

Central location with beautiful outdoor dining. The service was a bit grumpy. Advice on the card was missing. Drinks were often missing. Food was OK. The chicken in the pasta was dry and overcooked. Prices okay.

Went there for brunch on a Sunday. The selection at the breakfast buffet was great. Unfortunately, the warm dishes were not very spicy and cold (hence no 5 stars). Dessert selection was very good. Although there were few guests, the waiter came too rarely... But was otherwise very friendly. Price performance was okay, as long as you only ordered 1-2 drinks in addition to the free orange juice.

Trotz der vollen Innenstadt in Köln zur EM, aber an einem spielfreien Tag ohne Public Viewing kehrten wir spontan ins 12 Apostel ein. Sehr angenehmes Ambiente, überaus freundliche Bedienung, die sofort 2 Kerzen am Tisch anzündete und so direkt für eine heimelige Atmosphäre sorgte. Die Getränke kamen sehr schnell und die von uns bestellte Pizza dauerte auch nicht lange. Perfekt zubereitete Pizza Spinat mit Gorgonzola und eine ebenso leckere Matteo-Pizza. Sehr groß, sehr knusprig am Rande und, wie gesagt sehr lecker! Jeder vorbeieilende Kellner rief uns zu, ob wir noch etwas benötigen, ob es uns schmecke und wünschte guten Appetit. Wir waren positiv überrascht einen solch guten Service und ein gutes Essen zu adäquatem Preis zu bekommen. Eine Empfehlung für die Innenstadt Köln!

I recently visited XII Apostel Giornale and had an extremely disappointing experience. The pasta we ordered was completely uncooked, making it inedible. Even the chef admitted that the quality of the pasta was not up to standard. It's unacceptable to serve such poorly prepared food to customers. I expected much better from a restaurant of this reputation. I will not be returning and do not recommend this place to anyone looking for a good dining experience.

Visited cologne during the Euro 2024 tournament. Stopped off for some beer and food. Great place. Really friendly staff, great food and great beer.

Always delicious, whether pizza, pasta or salad, and large portions; beautiful winter garden at the restaurant, with an opening roof. During the week we were there without a reservation, but on the weekend I would recommend a reservation. Centrally located, right on the Heumarkt, parking garage in the immediate vicinity, but no problem with public transport either; KVB lines 1, 7 and 9 stop at Heumarkt as well as 1-2 bus lines.

Were there 2 evenings. Service on the first evening was super nice. But on the second evening we were just shouted at by the waitress. Was probably a bit stressed.

We have enjoyed coming here for years, but if the service employees no longer want to do their job with heart, we will not come back and will now move our business meals elsewhere. Sorry, it just doesn't work that way anymore.

Last night we had dinner in this actually very nice restaurant in the center of Cologne. Personally, I have eaten at the 13th Apostle several times before. Unfortunately I have to say that it's no longer worth eating there. What we had on our plate was an absolute disgrace. Every recooked pasta is better!!! The little mouse under the table was amusing and made some guests scream😂. Staff okay, rest catastrophic! Any food stall nearby is better! Rethink your concept! Ciao

Great ambience, attentive service

Considering that the Heumarkt is so touristy, the XII Apostle is a gem! Really pleasant atmosphere, delicious pizza and nice service. 🍕😋

Since 2011 I have been eating at XII Apostle again and again. In the first few years I was impressed by both the food and the service, as well as the lovely atmosphere. Unfortunately, I have to say that the service has deteriorated massively in the last 3 years. Now I only meet annoyed and sometimes very unfriendly waiters. At first I thought these were just stress-related exceptions. But unfortunately it is the rule. Last night was my last visit: there were 4 of us and we ordered 3 pizzas and one spaghetti bolognese. When the 3 pizzas arrive, they say that the Bolognese is now out and the 4th man should order something else while everyone around him is already eating. No more Bolognese at the Italian restaurant, the world I was born into no longer exists. We then canceled that, divided the large pizzas between us and we were all full. On the way home my stomach kicked in, so I had something to do with it for the whole night.

I visited this restaurant with my husband last week. It was simply enchanting again! The food absolutely fabulous! I had the spaghetti con scampi and my husband had the straw and hay. Aperitif was also just refreshingly delicious. The service was absolutely great too! It's been a long time since such a lovely and attentive waitress served me. Greetings to Sarah! We'd love to come back!!

Terrible food at completely exorbitant prices

High prices - little taste Yesterday I visited this "pizzeria" for the second time. Unfortunately, my second visit was just as disappointing as my first. The menu corresponds to any average pizzeria without setting any unusual or particularly appealing accents. The only thing that was noticeable was the high prices. Both my "Vitello Tonnato" and my "Judas" pizza were so disappointing in taste that I had to add a lot of salt, pepper and oil to create a taste. Only the pepperoni contained so much heat that it was inedible. Due to the thick and fluffy dough, I would describe the "Italian pizza" served to me as "American pizza". At my table of 10 people, everyone complained about the bland taste of their food, so that plenty of seasoning had to be added. Nobody showed any enthusiasm for the food they ordered. A positive aspect is the unusual ambience for a “pizzeria”. The service was also satisfactory. I can't explain why this "pizzeria" is rated so well by many guests and how one can survive economically in the long term with this poor service. It seems to be due to the location and the tourists in the old town.

Came for dinner sat by the window half a bottle of wine left from previous customer. Ordered food saw some mice under the next table called over waiter they explained they come inside nothing we can do if the door is open. Food arrived more mice running up table leg under my feet. Showed video to staff they said sorry packed up food in to go containers and left still wanted full payment. Arrived home with food not wanting to eat it. Please tell me this is not normal. Understand you get mice from time to time these had no fear residents.

Great Italian right on the Heumarkt square. Food was great, and of course the beers! Many outside tables to enjoy the square and people watch.

Das Essen kam zügig und war lecker. Alles war nett angerichtet die Bedienung war etwas gestresst aber wir lassen dass gerne mal als Kölner Charme durchgehen.

We had pizza which was a lunchtime special with soups and the pricing was very reasonable. The staff were very helpful and kudos for finding butter for us. Highly recommended!

We went in spontaneously because it was raining and were given a very friendly welcome. We were able to choose a table ourselves. The waiter accepted our drink requests, which were immediately brought by a colleague. The menu is laid out like a daily newspaper and is very extensive. After we placed our food order, bread and vinegar/oil were served. The bread was very tasty, fresh and plentiful. The food was delicious and our waiter Abdul was very friendly and attentive. We felt very comfortable.

We were looking forward to a lovely evening, which unfortunately was ruined by the mice. When we reported this problem to the waiters, we were told it was “normal”. So we lost our appetite and the compensation of 2 free meals didn't help either. Last time we eat here.

The ceiling painting is really impressive. And even though it was Men's Day and there was a lot going on, the service was nice and friendly. My pizza was very tasty and huge.

We spontaneously came for dinner on Saturday evening and didn't have a reservation! No problem, as there would still be a few tables available. Despite the high capacity utilization, the service worked excellently in all areas!! A very nice and attentive young lady took the order, the drinks and food were then served quite quickly by other employees. A really perfect division of tasks!!!!! We've never experienced anything like this before, because usually one and the same employee does everything (including bringing the drinks and food...). It was really great that everyone knew what and where they had to do it and you weren't asked dozens of times and nobody knew what the other one was doing. We've experienced something like this in other restaurants... where everything somehow gets mixed up. In addition to the perfect service, we can also praise the quality of the food!! The pizza was excellent 👍 The Lugano is really very good! We would love to come back and had a really nice evening!!!!

Very unfriendly aggressive greeting. The waiter bumped into us because we were “in the way.” Nobody needs a service like that. If the food is like the service, then NEVER!!!!

Absolutely not.... Very aggressive behavior by the waiter towards women with children.... The waiter pushed us because we were in the way and there was no apology, more insults... If the children hadn't been there , I would have called the police.... Older gentleman with glasses... It was our first time in Cologne and we were very disappointed

Unfortunately the price/performance ratio is not right at all! Penne al arabiata with burrata ware1. Not spicy and 2. unfortunately they tasted like they had been sitting around for a long time. For 19€ super disappointed... despite lots of seasoning it didn't taste like anything - I gave half back...

Was OK. We were there relatively late. Therefore not so crowded.

We were at Sunday brunch and the coffee wasn't included at the price of 24.90. The coffee was miserable, cold and stale. Unfortunately not to our satisfaction. After we complained about it, we were brought new coffee which was a bit hotter but actually wasn't really tasty for a lot of money.

Restaurant located directly on the Heumarkt, which can be reached by bus/train/walking as well as by car (parking in the Heumarkt car park). If you arrive by car you are directly on site. The staircase entrance/exit is located directly in front of the restaurant The price performance ratio is very good. The meals were very tasty and plentiful. The service is very friendly, so you feel very comfortable. All in all, a clear recommendation if you want to eat out.

In terms of food, nothing to say, the dishes are plentiful and varied and the food is very good. The dishes are prepared very quickly. and the prices are reasonable. However, at the end of the service, what was our surprise when we saw Mickey and his mouse friends walking around the restaurant in an uninhibited manner, without seeming to bother the employees.

Always a nice visit. But.... Why isn't it possible to get a bowl of olives with the bread you order for a fee?

Went there with a group and had reserved in advance. The service was good, if a bit chaotic. We didn't like the pizza. For around €16, very sparsely filled, 3 onion rings, 3 snippets of pepper and 3 very thin zucchini slices. We estimate the cost of goods at €1.50. It wasn't particularly tasty, but it arrived quickly. We found the waiting room to be a good place to sit near the inner courtyard and it was always drafty. It's too dark for me too.

The most beautiful terrace to relax and enjoy, right on the Heumarkt but the seating on the terrace is a disaster. Wobbly, unstable high chairs that require a lot of balance from the guest and do not invite you to linger! The service and the food are good!

Very good pizza but very large premises in dark light and very long waiting times, even though the shop was not well attended.

We just had a drink. The staff was very nice and the interior with the ceiling frescoes was fantastic.
