Xia Garden 華夏園 in Schwetzingen

I've been here many times, and I can't understand the complaints from some people. It's obvious that you're not going to get five-star cuisine for €27 all-you-can-eat. Everything is incredibly delicious and very fresh. If you prefer a more relaxed atmosphere, come on a weekday evening. I especially want to commend the service; everyone is very friendly, courteous, and attentive.

At this popular restaurant, they know the food must be fresh, appetizing, and delicious, with a wide selection. Despite the occasional crowds, you can still enjoy your meal in peace.

We wanted to try a different Chinese restaurant, so we went there. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. The sushi didn't look fresh, was already dried out in places, and didn't taste good either. The raw fish for frying was sitting in defrosting juice, which looked very unappetizing. All in all, nothing special. I certainly won't be going back there.

We went there for lunch and ate from the buffet. The food was delicious, fresh, and attractively presented. We were very impressed with the entire offering – we'll definitely be back!

The price-performance ratio isn't right. I opted for the all-you-can-eat option. The food selection was rather limited, a bit more friendliness would have been nice, and the price for one beer and all-you-can-eat was €32.50. In my opinion, it's not worth it.

Very loud and hectic, and the food was unfortunately almost completely bland. Some of the à la carte dishes were taken from the buffet. Upon arrival, there was no one there to show us to our reserved seats. The only positive aspect was a very friendly and thoughtful waitress (who moved us to a different table for more space and pointed out our forgotten bag 👍). It used to be better when they used the back rooms.

The buffet is rather empty. You really have to search to find something edible, and besides, it just doesn't look appetizing. It's gone downhill drastically… I unfortunately can't recommend it.

Very good food, good and large selection, price-performance ratio is perfectly fine, parking directly in front of the restaurant. I can only recommend it. Anyone who wants to eat at Xia Garden should reserve a table in advance as it is always busy.

Delicious food, friendly service, beautiful design

I only booked a hotel room here. The value for money is okay. A contactless system with a password for access to the room. But the mattress smells quite strongly of a mouse nest. Unfortunately, only 4 stars for that. The rest was very good. Dear hotel owner: please replace the mattresses with new ones, then this will be a very good hotel.

A really great restaurant. We had the buffet, there was a great selection, everything was fresh, and we especially loved the sushi. The ambiance is very nice; despite the buffet, it's rather quiet and relaxed. Highly recommended. The service was also quick, friendly, and courteous. We'll be back :)

Very good food, super friendly staff. The price/performance ratio was definitely good. The only downside was that it was quite cold in the restaurant. Therefore, one point less.

We come here often. We drive over 100 km just to eat here. The food is delicious. The service is always friendly and fast. The buffet selection is fantastic, and new options are added frequently. The value for money is excellent.

Large restaurant with a good selection at the buffet, but not exactly a bargain at almost €27 per person. Highly recommended is the teppanyaki grill; you choose your preferred sauce by color. The food is served fresh to your table. Service was present during the clearing of plates. However, you had to order drinks yourself, even though they noticed that one or two glasses were empty. Outdoor seating is also available. Large parking lot.

We really enjoyed the food. It's a great concept and very tasty. The teppanyaki with the curry sauce and peanut sauce was fantastic! A wide selection of delicious ingredients to combine. I highly recommend this restaurant. I think reservations are essential on weekends.

The restaurant offers both a buffet and à la carte dishes. The buffet looked very appealing, and the dishes we ordered were also excellent both visually and in terms of taste. The service was attentive and made an effort to serve us promptly – all dishes were served promptly and to our complete satisfaction. The crispy roast duck is especially recommended. We'll be happy to come back!

It used to be better, but today we were very disappointed with the food and ordered some cocktails which were disappointing as they were simply poured from the bottle.

Excellent meal and good service

First of all, we always go for the buffet, so I can only speak for it. Great food, tastes really good. Even really good with the raw meat that you hand over to the grill master with the sauce of your choice. Nice ambiance, especially with the air conditioning, which is just right for these hot temperatures. The table is never full for long, and empty plates are always cleared away quickly. Overall 5/5

Am Pfingstmontag 2025 um 17:30 Uhr, Buffet wahrscheinlich übrig vom Mittag. Leber trocken, Speisen überwürzt, panatierter Fisch ungenießbar, gebackene Äpfel und Bananen ölig und pampig. Erlebnisbuffet für 26,90 € pro Person ist leider nicht empfehlenswert. Zumindest war es das nicht am 09.06.2025

Great service and the buffet is very good. Highly recommended. That was a long time ago. On Whit Monday 2025 at 5:30 p.m., the buffet was probably leftover from lunch. Liver was dry, food was overseasoned, breaded fish was inedible, baked apples and bananas were oily and soggy. Unfortunately, the experience buffet for €26.90 per person is not recommended. At least it wasn't on June 9, 2025.

The only disaster was the food was cold and the service was bad. The price was not justified for this cold buffet which was from the afternoon. I would not recommend it.

Large and well-stocked buffet. Huge selection of meat, fish, and vegetables. It's always refilled very quickly. It's very clean, and the staff is very friendly and quick.

The food here is (warning) only okay from a buffet perspective. It could be a bit more extensive. Some of the food isn't that great, but it's still okay. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. The ambiance is very nice. There are plenty of free parking spaces.

Delicious food at a completely acceptable price. There is something for everyone and guests' wishes are happy to be fulfilled. Here I can eat whatever my heart desires without hesitation. As an allergy sufferer, I have no restrictions whatsoever in this restaurant. We like coming because we value not only the selection, but also the quality of the food and the cleanliness of the restaurant. Whenever we have visitors, a visit to Xia Garden is always on the agenda

Per Zufall kam ich am XIA vorbei und dachte mir, bei dem schönen Wetter draussen sitzen, wäre doch schön.. Gedacht, getan. Es gab draussen noch viele freie Tische auf der wirklich sehr grossen Terrasse. Drinnen war es ziemlich voll. Der Grund war wohl das Buffet, das am Abend angeboten wird. Sah wirklich auch gut aus, ich nahm jedoch Ente a la carte, thailändisch. Es war eine ziemlich grosse Portion, die Ente war knusprig. Natürlich "vorbereitet" und durch das "Grillen" dann doch etwas trocken, aber der Vorteil, dann nicht zu fettig. Es war sehr bekömmlich mit dem Gemüse in der Kokosmilchsosse. Dazu gab es Reis. Es war alles so viel, dass ich es nicht ganz geschafft habe. Der Preis war meines Erachtens nicht hoch und für diese Leistung völlig normal. Die Herren im Service waren auch sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Alles in allem ein lohnenswerter Besuch, mir hat es sehr gut geschmeckt. Gerne wieder.

The food from the buffet was very good, but it could definitely be a little warmer, spring rolls, chicken etc. were sometimes only lukewarm!

Coincidentally, I had rented a room and just wanted to eat. Always a good buffet. Nice people. Not too expensive.

We celebrated my brother's birthday here. We got a great, cozy corner of our own for up to 20 people. Buffet was always refilled. Staff was super organized and super nice. I have to say, the service was really the best of the all you can eats here! There isn't a lot of choice in terms of food, but what's on offer tastes great!

We like this place for its open buffet. They have a good variety of food and a nice grill station with a wide range of proteins and sauces that they prepare just for you. Their dessert section is okay, the cakes are nice and the fruits as well. I would recommend you going there not during the weekend as it tends to get super crowded and noisy. They also have a big private parking space do this won't be a problem. All in all, good place to go to if you are very hungry!

I didn't like it. Little choice at the Mongolian buffet. Squid not cleaned properly, gristly. Fresh produce partially dried. Didn't look fresh. Sauces are offered at the table with stickers. I'd rather spend my money at the Chinese restaurant in the Talhaus.

A diverse all-you-can-eat buffet with fresh, delicious dishes (including salad, sushi, soups, various meat, fish and vegetable variations, cakes, ice cream). The opportunity to have your own raw ingredients freshly prepared with a sauce of your choice is great. Appropriate price-performance ratio.

Attention: changed opening times: UNTIL 9 PM Really great shop. I come here at least 1/2 times a year and I'm never disappointed. The only problem is that they change their opening times on Google Maps, which means you have a little less time if you're running late.

Please note that dogs are allowed into the restaurant here. There were 3 HUGE dogs sitting next to us. One also runs back and forth several times. It smelled like dogs and they were drooling saliva. Doesn't work at all. Food lunch buffet ok. NO fish. NO shrimp. Savings are made here.

Large selection, reduced prices. With sufficient parking spaces. Friendly waiters. And it is very important that there are employees who also speak Hungarian. So if someone doesn't speak German well but speaks Hungarian, the two young men will be happy to help you in Hungarian.

For me there is only one address for Asian food and that is the Xia Garden. The evening buffet is simply mega. Everything is freshly prepared in front of you.

Located just outside of Schwetzingen on the road to Ketsch, approx. 400m. A visit is worth it. It takes about 10 minutes by bike from the center of Schwetzingen. The buffet is highly recommended because, in addition to the typical preheated Chinese dishes, it also offers many fresh dishes. Simply fill the plate with fish, seafood (mussels, shrimp, octopus, etc.), meat and vegetables and hand it over to the cook. Choose one of the many sauces and have it brought to the table. The price of the restaurant is quite high for a Chinese restaurant, but they offer a cozy beer garden and a great selection of food and drinks. The first stop for me on the next trip to Schwetzingen.
