From the outside we expected a middle-class to somewhat "dated" interior and were pleasantly surprised. Everything is friendly, bright and tastefully decorated. The service is great, the greetings from the kitchen are delicious and served with warm bread. Our food was very tasty, well seasoned, of good quality and plentiful. At the end there was a very delicious rhubarb liqueur from the house. This is how you win guests and get regular customers. Thank you!

Wir haben hier aufgrund der sehr guten Bewertungen gegessen und waren mit dem Essen auch sehr zufrieden. Der Service war korrekt aber manchmal etwas wenig präsent. Das Ambiente im Lokal ist jedoch etwas aus der Zeit gefallen. Die Bestuhlung ist eher modern und auch sehr gut so. Die Bilder an den Wänden sind total überladen, teilweise unmögliche Stilrichtungen. Wohlfühlumgebung ist sicher etwas anderes.

We were there with 11 people, had reserved and were pleasantly impressed by the service staff and the selected dishes. All eleven different dishes were very tasty. The service staff was very attentive and very friendly. Only the background noise was high, but the room was also full. And there was little soundproofing. Last but not least, each of us was given a digestif and we could choose the drink. I've never experienced that before. I found the gesture and handling great. We spontaneously made reservations there again for our Christmas get-together.

The meat was buttery soft, unfortunately there was a store-bought sauce on top that you can taste immediately, then it would have been a poem.

If you like to eat very well, you've come to the right place!! I reserved a table at short notice. The food was simply delicious - a huge compliment to the kitchen! The service was very friendly and accommodating, we felt very comfortable. We would be happy to come back, even if the journey is 65km away.

Today: Senior day trip to Xanten with lunch in the "Xantener Stuben"... it's Wednesday and "Schnitzel Day"! After prior inquiry, the owner promised me a special opening at lunchtime. Shortly after 12 p.m. we stopped the bus in front of the restaurant and were welcomed there. He had reserved the parking space in front of the house for us. As soon as the first ones were seated, the drinks orders were taken... and things continued quickly. The seasonal side salads were served with a very tasty sweet and sour dressing... and then the schnitzels in 6 (!) variations with 3 different side dish options and the choice between pork and chicken! There were 48 (!) of us and everything was on the tables within half an hour! It looked like the delicious sauces had arrived fresh on the plates, because the breading on the schnitzel wasn't soggy and the side dishes, fries, croquettes or fried potatoes were served in separate bowls. For example, I had a Roman schnitzel made of chicken with a really delicious, fruity curry sauce with pieces of fruit and on top a piece of fried banana... I would eat that again at any time!!! It was timely, we had to leave again at 2 p.m., everything went wonderfully... thanks to the quick service from the boss and his employee! EVERYONE... but really EVERYONE... praised the good and tasty schnitzels, even those who can be very critical. The nice, friendly and good-humoured service was also praised and of course the cozy rooms. The toilets were also clean and tidy and, very important for seniors, everything was barrier-free! There was even a chair lift for the few steps to the mezzanine!!! All in all we can say that it was a successful start in Xanten and we can recommend the "Xantener Stuben" with a clear conscience!!! Thanks to Mr. Schneidereit and his whole team!!!!!

Very friendly and nice people there. We chose to go to Xanten for a weekend and I found this restaurant. We have a 3 months’ baby with us. They reserved a big table for us to put our baby car. And they asked us if we needed warm water for baby milk. The food were also very good! I would recommend this place if you decided to visit Xanten.

Wir haben zu viert in diesem etwas abseits von der Innenstadt gelegenen Restaurant gegessen. Unsere Teller waren anschließend leer, obwohl die Portionen recht groß waren. Hier stimmt Preis/Leistungsverhältnis. Bedienung war herzlich und zuvorkommend. Zum Abschluss bekamen wir noch einen Rhabarberschnaps und man hatte sogar noch Zeit für ein paar persönliche Worte, obwohl das Restaurant voll besetzt war.

Terrific! We had a first-class meal. After the greeting from the kitchen with three very tasty dips, our soups followed. Delicious. As requested, we received the side salad as an intermediate course. Our main courses were perfect. At the end, a drink of your choice was offered on the house. Nice offer, which we gladly accepted. We will be happy to come back for dinner. We especially have to mention the friendly and courteous service staff.

We had a wonderful evening in the Xantener Stube - the incredibly warm, familiar service and the really delicious food are worth 5 stars to me. As a special surprise, we discovered that there is a Swabian connection, so of course the Swabian roast was mandatory. If we are in Xanten again, we will definitely come here again.

I have never experienced anything as great as this restaurant. It was my husband's birthday. He was congratulated by the boss and the very nice waitress, even though we are only tourists. To kick things off there was Prosecco on the house. Because my husband didn't want that, he got a beer. Then there was fresh bread with three different dips. We ordered shrimps according to the house style, as well as Maultaschen. Totally delicious. As if that wasn't enough, there was also a digestive drink on the house at the end. We were both absolutely thrilled with the food and the entire hospitality. You don't experience something like that every day. All around great and 1000% recommended.

A beautiful, cozy, nice restaurant. The staff are friendly, the service is fantastic. You get warm bread with three dips beforehand. Then we got a delicious salad. As a main course we had the veal schnitzel, which was perfectly cooked with tasty potatoes. There is non-alcoholic beer on tap. Our dog was also spoiled with a bowl of dog biscuits and water. This restaurant is highly recommended.

We were in the Xantener Stuben for the first time today and I have to say we were very impressed. The food was excellent and the service was perfect and friendly. We were there without a reservation and they still made it possible for us to stay there. Big praise and thanks for that.

We discovered this restaurant more by chance. Since we had been looking for a restaurant for a long time where you could just eat a good Wienerschnitzel, we came here. In addition to a number of different schnitzel dishes, you can also get other, always freshly prepared, which we think is very positive, home-style German dishes, which we will certainly try on our next visit because we really enjoyed it here. The host and also the service staff were extremely friendly and attentive and took great care of their guests. Of course we ate the Wienerschnitzel, served with delicious fries and a small mixed salad, which was also very tasty. All in all, there was nothing to complain about, except for the furnishings, which were a bit sober and cool for our taste. For this type of cuisine, I expected it to be a little more rustic. But there are still 5 stars because it was very tasty here and because we experienced something here like nowhere else: our dog was not only expressly welcome here, he was also immediately given something to drink and even something to eat. We ate there for the first time this evening and were thrilled. I was there for communion for the first time in May. The food was varied and delicious. The service was very courteous and attentive. The ambience was also nice. I can't judge the price performance because I didn't pay. I was invited otherwise it can only be recommended.

Unfortunately we won't be coming back. Bowling alley reserved for birthdays. We were served well by a really nice young woman, the service was great, she had some fun and really made an effort. The food was ok but not exceptional, for the price I would expect a little better quality or just a little more on the plate. The fries came in 2 medium bowls for the whole table, if I order my own main course and pay for it then I want my fries on my plate too. The boss was extremely unfriendly to us and none of our 10 people (including attachments and recommendations) will come back. Some of our troops smoke these e-cigarettes, they were standing and lying on the tables, when the operator came in there was someone from our squad in them Moments later he pulled on his e-cigarette. He noticed this and immediately became hot-tempered: "Hey guys, that's not possible at all, there's an absolute ban on smoking here, that also applies to the bowling alley, that's really not possible at all." Continuing to shout loudly and repeat himself, he left the alley without even saying anything to have a conversation with us. So that we understand each other properly! It is undisputed that the fault was fundamentally ours. He angrily slammed the door and left the train. Unfortunately that wasn't all! He brought the food quite stroppily, the atmosphere on the train was absolutely silent when he entered the train. When we arrived we brought a small strawberry cake and snacks, he saw that, he finally greeted us, everything was obviously on the table for him to see the whole time. Not a word from him, in retrospect you could say he was literally waiting to say something. Towards the end of the evening we asked nicely if it might be possible 10 Get small plates and 10 small forks. The nice employee said no problem. We all, including the employee, did the math but without the boss. He came roaring up, tore the door open, took two steps in and became loud. Very friendly reception. Schnitzel is the theme here. So I also ordered a pepper schnitzel with fries. First there was warm white bread with 3 spreads. Tasty! The schnitzel was super tender and juicy. The pepper sauce had a really peppery taste, just like I like and expect. The fries are fresh, crispy and delicious. The side salad was also good. We were very happy about the fruit schnapps that the house offered us. Great food - if you like schnitzel, this is definitely the right place for you!

The first impression shows a cozy, appealing atmosphere... you feel like you're at your mother's Sunday table. The staff is very friendly and accommodating... the owner entertains the guests and always has a nice saying, seems to be in a good mood, like that whole team.The food is fresh, hot and it tasted fantastic again...at the end there was a drink on the house...I was more than satisfied all around and will definitely come back again...and at incredibly fair prices

Unexpected things often happen... last Tuesday I was able to stop here with a friend by chance and completely spontaneously. Without planning or even knowing about Xanten, we simply chose this restaurant and hit the jackpot. Very friendly, fast service. We immediately felt welcome (even though we were dressed very casually). We had a starter and a main course and - even though we are good eaters - we were really very full and had an excellent taste experience. After the surprising but very tasty greeting from the kitchen, I first had the goat cheese and the shrimp pan as the main course and I can say... wow. Any time! My friend had the onion soup and the snow medallions with gorgonzola sauce and loved it just as much! With two drinks each we both came to just under €50 and we both thought the price was completely reasonable. If I come to Xanten again, I will definitely visit the Xantener Stuben again.

Herzlichen Dank an das Stuben Team für den schönen Abend Wir haben uns dort, wie immer, sehr wohl gefühlt Das lag vornehmlich an dem guten Service und dem hervorragendem Essen. Das Fleisch war auf den Punkt gegart und einfach nur lecker. Wer es gern herzhaft mag, der sollte auf jeden Fall den selbstgemachten Schmalz auf warmen Brot probieren. Für uns immer ein Highlight, ebenso das Aioli und der Curry-Dip. Es wird nach wie vor nicht unser letzter Besuch der Xantener Stube sein Empfehlen kann man auch die angebotenen Schnitzel Varianten

Heute (26.12.23) mit vier Personen zu Gast gewesen. Es war wunderbar. Freundlicher und flinker Service. Die Küche war gut vorbereitet auf den Weihnachtsansturm, somit gab es keine langen Wartezeiten. Vorsuppen und Salat lecker und schön angerichtet, Hauptspeise top. Dessert auch. Danke ans gesamte Team für die wirklich tolle Bewirtung. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Firstly, I'd like to comment on the homemade rhubarb schnapps. It's glorious. It doesn't even taste alcoholic, it's that rhubarby. Sure makes the walk home fun though. The staff were all friendly and very proficient. They put up with our mediocre German with good grace, and were helpful with any questions we had. The beers and wines selection is as you would expect for the area. I went with diebels alt not being a pilsner guy, and my wife had a rather nice white wine. The first thing brought after drinks was a basket of bread and three dips/spreads. One schmalz, one aoli and one which I could not identify. They were all good, but the schmalz was far and away the standout contender here. I ate way too much bread because the spreads were that tasty, and that's something I'm normally very careful about. Starters wise, my wife had the tomato soup which was very nice and well spiced, and I had the chilli garnelen which were also excellent. Did I mention that the rhabarber schnapps is tasty? I had the rumpsteak mit champignons und zwiebeln, and my wife had the rumpsteak Madagaskar (with a green pepper sauce and kroketten) and both were very good. They cook steak well as ordered (rare for me, medium rare for my wife) and the chef clearly knows their way around a chunk of cow. We really wanted to try their peaches, chocolate sauce and ice-cream dessert, but at this point we were both too full and decided to go with the legendary rhubarb schnapps and an espresso. The coffee was just OK, but my god that schnapps. I'd come back to xanten just for that. Oh, the waitress even corrected me when I couldn't do basic arithmetic so I didn't tip too much, which was very kind of her because she could have easily tricked me out of another 20 and honestly she probably deserved it anyway. I hope this place stays open for a long time, because they're very good at what they do and know exactly the kind of place they run. That said, if the business collapses they can just sell that sweet sweet rhubarb schnapps online. To me. I'll buy it all.

Leider werden die Teller nach alter Schule angerichtet. Tellerrand mit Balsamico und Petersilie. Das Fleisch war sehr gut auf dem Punkt gebraten. Leider waren sie Spätzle ertränkt in Soße, deshalb viel zu weich ( verkocht ) . Wäre besser gewesen, die Soße separat zu servieren. Die Bedienung hat einen sehr guten Job gemacht!!!! Sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Der Gastraum war sehr schön eingerichtet und gibt eine gute Atmosphäre

Hier kann man sehr lecker essen und den Empfehlungen der Bedienung voll vertrauen, alles war frisch und sehr schmackhaft .Der Schnaps/Espresso auf Kosten des Hauses rundeten das Essen ab. Wir freuen uns schon auf ein Wiedersehen.

Wir haben den Geburtstag meines Mannes gefeiert, bekammen einen guten Tisch. Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen und Bedient, das essen kam ziemlich schnell ,es war heiß, es war lecker und die Portion war genau passend.

De medewerkers van dit familierestaurant doen er alles aan om je een fijne avond te bezorgen. Het is een komen en gaan van lokale gasten, dat zegt genoeg. Er staan originele en verrassend lekkere en betaalbare vers bereide gerechten op de kaart. De Duitse keuken op haar best…. De gebakken champignons op een bedje van verse spinazie met hollandaisesaus en gesmolten kaas, is een regelrechte aanrader.

Wir würden gerne bewerten, können aber nicht. Dienstag Nachmittag, die Sonne steht auf einer Seite der Terrasse. Wir baten darum, uns zum Essen auf die andere, abgesperrte, aber schattige Seite setzen zu dürfen, da ich nicht länger in der Sonne sitzen kann. "Das machen wir hier nicht" war die lapidare Antwort der "Servicekraft*. Wir fühlten uns als Kunden wie bestenfalls notwendiges Übel. Wir waren dann woanders essen.

Sehr gutes Essen, netter Chef, nette Kellner, so ein Restaurant findet man selten. Sehr schnelle Bedienung, und günstige Getränke, 3 Personen (Jeder ein Gericht + pro Kopf 2 Getränke) 59,90€! 🙂 Am Vortag haben wir dort angerufen und nach einer Reservierung gebeten, wo wir außerdem erwähnten dass ich an dem Tag Geburtstag habe. Als "Überraschung" wurde mir gratuliert und ein Gratis Eis mit 2 Kugel, Sahne und Sauce Angeboten. Immer gerne wieder. 🙂

Rinderkraftbrühe bestand nur aus gekochtem Eiweiß, wurde wissentlich serviert; Cordon bleu, so ein festes, zähes ?Kalbfleisch? Noch nie erlebt. Der Koch sollte die verbleibende Zeit zum Üben nutzen.

Wir waren sehr zufrieden mit der großen Auswahl auf der Speisekarte. Das Servicepersonal ist unglaublich nett. Trotz vollem Restaurant kam das Essen zügig und war lecker. Ich kann dieses Restaurant nur empfehlen!

Wir waren sehr angenehm überrascht von dem einladenden Ambiente. Der Service sehr nett und freundlich. Das Essen sah nicht nur super angerichtet aus, sondern schmeckte hervorragend. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis paßt auf jeden Fall. Rundum empfehlenswert. Schade, daß wir eine so weite Anreise haben (über 400 km), aber wir kommen wieder!

Wir sind so verwöhnt worden mit köstlichen Gerichten und auserwählten Getränken. Der leckerste Dip, den ich je gegessen habe, ist ein Gedicht und ich muss unbedingt das Rezept haben. Der Chef fragt persönlich an jedem Tisch nach dem Wohlbefinden der Gäste und packt auch immer mit an. Das gesamte Personal ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. In den XANTENER STUBEN ist man noch König und genießt in vollen Zügen ein super netten Abend in geschmackvollem Ambiente. Wir freuen uns schon auf unsere nächste Auszeit in Xanten und natürlich auf die XANTENER STUBEN. Vielen lieben Dank für die schöne Zeit.

Sehr lieben Dank an Chef und Team. Wir haben uns superwohl gefühlt. Ein wirklich gutes Essen in sehr angenehmer Atmosphäre genossen ( 3 Abende hintereinander). Kleine Aufmerksamkeit zum Geburtstag meiner Partnerin gab es vom Chef spontan.Das Team ging auf jeden Sonderwunsch sofort ein. Jederzeit eher gerne wieder. Absolut empfehlenswert. I had dinner here with family and friends and the food was exceptional. The portions were huge. The staff were efficient and friendly. Highly recommended.

It always with skepticism that you read reviews However in the case of this restaurant the quality of the service, food and beverages was indeed of a extremely high standard. In what is a historic city surrounded by Roman history and near to the Rhine it was a special treat to spend an evening with my friends family. My hope it will be there on my return visit when I will make sure there is booking for breakfast as well.

This restaurant has the best German food in Xanten. The staff are friendly, the service is great and everyone gets a really good welcome.
