Würzburger Ratskeller in Würzburg

Dinner on the terrace of the Ratskeller was a lovely end to our stay in Würzburg. The service was very friendly, pleasant, and helpful. Despite the crowded terrace, she took the time to advise us on our wine and food selection. The dishes were well-seasoned and arrived warm. The wine recommendation was exactly what we were looking for. Thank you for the lovely end to our meal.

During our visit to the Ratskeller, we were not only treated very warmly, but our every wish was catered to. We were with a wedding party in the "Kapelle" room. The food was excellent and everyone enjoyed it. The friendly waitstaff and bar staff did an outstanding job. Very professional and perfect in every respect. The interior and courtyard are very nice. Everyone enjoyed the food, even if it was served a bit too quickly in my opinion. The service was excellent.

Came here for a private party (we were not the ones with the reservation, just guests, so I don't know how much everything costs). It was admittedly a large group, but the amount of time between meal courses was a little long, and by the time we were waiting for dessert to show up, all of the younger kids were getting super restless and we were ready to just leave. The food was decent, but nothing to write home about. It was also difficult to get the waiters attention. Not sure why the service was so slow, because the rest of the restaurant was completely empty. The room we were in had some pretty stained glass, but the acoustics were not great for how many people we had.

All in all, it was okay. The service was just slow even though it wasn't busy. Additionally, the wheat beer was stale, which, upon request, was due to the new keg. If you do this every day, you should know this and taste the beer before serving it to the customer. In any case, it felt like 20 minutes before we had something to drink. Then the food arrived, and there was only a small toilet next to my pork roast. Considering the prices, I find that a bit too low. You'd have to reorder, which would mean extra costs, and toilet paper is really not expensive ;-) Conclusion: Value for money OK, nice ambiance... the service clearly needs improvement... and the food is mediocre (tourist catering), unfortunately, there are better places... but we'd be happy to come back again and be surprised by how seriously they take criticism.

A truly lovely restaurant in Würzburg. We received friendly and hospitable service, and the restaurant has a unique atmosphere. Furthermore, the food was delicious, and we didn't have to wait long for it to arrive. If you're in Würzburg, you should definitely go to the Ratskeller.

The server was great. Unfortunately, I had the burger. It looked great. But if the server doesn't ask if you want it medium, it's best to order something else. Even though I knew that, I made the mistake of not changing my order. The food came very quickly. Unfortunately, that's not a sign of quality, and it was confirmed here as well. The courtyard is very nice. The salad at the next table looked good, though.

However, there were some minor weaknesses in the service: As a larger group, we were only asked very sporadically if we would like anything else to drink. Several times, we were unable to place our order because the waiter was busy attending to other tables and then left the room immediately without stopping by. It's a shame – with a little more attention in this area, the visit would have been a complete success!

Unpleasant service, meal at a stone's throw...

Very unfriendly staff. We just wanted to sit down with friends for a drink and were immediately and firmly told that this wasn't allowed. We then left the outdoor area, so I can't comment on the prices or quality. The friendly Italian restaurant across the street had easily accommodated us the day before.

If I could give the service 0 stars, I would. I was there for lunch with a large group. Since I have all sorts of intolerances, I only ordered a simple portion of fries, which one waiter apparently found very objectionable. Over the course of my stay, I had to endure three stupid comments and cheeky laughter, which was clearly inappropriate. My colleagues noticed this too, and one of them spoke to the man about it afterwards. He didn't see any problem at all and didn't apologize. For the far too overpriced portion of fries at almost €7, I would probably rather go to almost any fast food chain where the staff let me eat in peace and the fries cost half the price.

Food was cold and the sauce dried out

The burger was overcooked. The shoulder of pork had a tough rind and had also been in the oven too long—or reheated. The server said they were very short-staffed in the kitchen...

Unfortunately disappointing - we know the Ratskeller better We have enjoyed going to the Ratskeller in Würzburg for over 15 years. It was always something special for us – great food, nice atmosphere, good service. We were even more disappointed with our last visit. The three of us paid €133 for food that, to be honest, was more reminiscent of canteen food. In terms of taste, everything was okay, but far from what we are used to from Ratskeller. It seemed as if the food had been ready for a while and was just kept warm - unfortunately you could taste it. The salad wasn't fresh either and had seen better days. It's a shame, because we have always valued the Ratskeller very much. Hopefully it was just a slip-up - but unfortunately it wasn't.

If the time between ordering and serving the food is approx. 5 minutes, it cannot be considered freshly prepared food. Accordingly, the food had no taste. We were very annoyed. For 70 euros the quality should have been better.

A wonderful evening today, in the Ratskeller a very traditional wine and organic restaurant, with regional cuisine. Very great atmosphere, in an old church environment and old cellar work. We had a business dinner and ate various traditional Bavarian dishes, all of which were excellent. There was also Silvaner. Service was very friendly and accommodating. Any time.

We wanted to celebrate our civil wedding in the Ratskeller in Würzburg. In order to look at the premises and discuss all the details, we made an appointment with an employee on site. When we arrived at the Ratskeller on the day of the appointment, we were told that the employee wasn't there because he was always free on Sundays. This fact really upset us as we had a two-hour journey behind us. We wrote down our number in the Ratskeller and were assured that we would be contacted the next day so that a new appointment could be arranged and we would be explained exactly what went wrong. That was now over 6 weeks ago, and not a single call or email has come since then. There was also no response to our email asking us to cancel the reservation.

Home-style cooking, very attentive waiter, quince spritzer, like all dishes, a pleasure.

The Ratskeller is a beautifully located restaurant in the heart of Würzburg. The food was delicious and served quickly. Our four-legged friend, Toby, was also very well looked after. He was given water and a bag of treats.

We found the historic inner courtyard by chance. The waiter was very nice and was happy that he could get some fresh air because of us. We ordered bratwurst pans and corn-fed chicken breast. Both dishes were very tasty but unfortunately not hot. The waiter explained to us that he had often told the kitchen that the food was not hot. The kitchen doesn't care. Maybe they should switch to sushi. But there was nothing to alleviate the inconvenience. A coffee or something similar. We would give the restaurant another chance.

The portion of meat on the bone with white cabbage on the side was perfect. The skin was perfectly crispy.. The beef medallion dish is also good. The meat is drier and suitable for those who like fat less. The purple cabbage is amazing.

We haven't been here in the Ratskeller for a long time and didn't remember the beautiful ambience and the super nice service. The menu promises a lot, also in terms of price, and so we chose the soup of the day, a bit thin, but tasted very good, the roast veal with dumplings was very well seasoned, the meat was tender, the dumplings were soft, the councilor's steak, on the other hand, was a touch too dry Fries too hard, but still taste good. We were served very attentively, in a very nice restaurant with reasonable prices. See you soon!

Waited twenty minutes for the order to be taken. 5 minutes later the drinks arrived along with the food. The food was lukewarm and the service never came to the table on its own, only upon request.

Great ambience! Super attentive and nice staff! Unfortunately the food was almost cold - probably warmed up in the microwave. My partner's food was very good, but they still need to work on the spaetzle. Portions rather small. Price performance can be improved.

Stopped in today as a couple and were lucky enough to find a free table. You shouldn't believe what goes on here on Sundays. We had the sauerbraten twice for €17. There was enough red cabbage - also well seasoned, 3 small slices of meat and 2 mini potato dumplings, the latter of which should have been a little more for the price. The Pils 0.5 for €4.10 is also at the maximum limit. Otherwise the kitchen performance was good, you could even see the Ratskeller landlord, Mr. Schubert, walking through the restaurant...the service was attentive and very friendly!

The dumplings were dry and bland. There were also about 10 potato chips, so 10 small slices. The portions were very small overall, especially if you go by the average in southern Germany (usually more than in the north). Overall it seemed like a typical tourist trap.

We had to wait 20 minutes until someone came to take the drinks, even though there was a waitress constantly in the dining room who obviously had nothing to do. When the food was there, no one came to ask if everything was okay. The food was outstanding, definitely a 10/10 and worth the money. It's not really comfortable to sit in, there are better restaurants in Würzburg. We would choose another restaurant next time.

Went in to sample the local beer and wine. Nice, modern place, incorporating the old building into the decor. Went back for food in the evening and the food was the best I had in my 2 weeks around bavaria/franconia/rhineland .

Burgundy roast with dumplings and red cabbage...I was there on a Monday and so my dish came to the table...it was more of a "Monday roast" that I had caught there...a few small, crumbled "end pieces" of meat with it Sauce and dumplings! The atmosphere was really nice, one of the waitresses wasn't very keen but that made up for it. Price performance doesn't work either...Ratskeller Feel free to take a look but then get out again quickly...Sorry but that's how it is... that could be better 👎🏻
