Pros: - Genuinely excellent food - Hearty portions - Lovely location Cons: - Staff who wouldn’t smile at you if you pumped them full of nitrous oxide - “We don’t have any tap water” - If you do any kind of battle with Berlin’s notorious wasp community, the head waitress, face like thunder, may march over with a spray bottle that used to contain bleach, spray it directly onto your plate and then grumpily announce “it’s only water.” Tap water, perchance? - It was pretty rude of an oblivious tourist to walk into the restaurant and immediately plug in their phone charger, so I understand why the manager stormed over to unplug it, but forcing that person to move to the table farthest away lest they do it again didn’t exactly add to the ambience Basically just keep your head down, enjoy some absolutely primo German cuisine (the schnitzel and the bratwurst, in particular, are peerless), and then very briskly get the eff outta dodge.

Eating Berlin style in Berlin is rare... here the dishes are respectful of tradition, plentiful and the prices are honest. Very courteous and smiling staff. Delicious cutlet, shank and currywurst. If too abundant, the lady will bring you the package to take home the leftovers 😅

Excellent value for money small restaurant.

Although the place was not full, it took an hour from our arrival to get four plates of sausage and chips. Others arriving long after us were served earlier. The food was decent, but not particularly memorable. The staff were working very hard, but there weren't enough of them.

Clear tourist spot. The schnitzel was good and big, but that was it. The dough in the Kaiserschmarrn was still raw. Unfortunately went back. I got a new one that still had parsley in it because it was probably a pan and the oil was being used by another dish. The service was out of place. When it comes to prices, saying that it's my fault if I choose something from the menu that is no longer available is a bit daring! So no, I wouldn't go there again. But they probably expect that anyway. Tourists only come once anyway, no matter what's on their plate...

So we ordered one schnitzel with potatoes and hot vegetables to share for three people and it was amazing and just enough! Recommend!!

Visited the small restaurant with German food. The food was good. We had different versions of schnitzel. The schnitzels were very large. It is positive that the sauce was served separately with the Jägerschnitzel. But the mushrooms in it didn't taste good. If you can avoid it, you shouldn't go to the toilet. It's not a feast for the eyes.

I had the cheese spaetzle with fried onions. My friend, a schnitzel that is as huge as the whole of Berlin. The cheese spaetzle was traditionally scraped from the board and the schnitzel is homemade. The service was very friendly and the food was ready very quickly, despite the restaurant being full. The spaetzle tasted fantastic. I can only recommend stopping by here. The prices are super cheap for the large portions. A real treasure in Berlin. It is worth it!!!!!

Cozy and cool little restaurant with a large terrace right in the heart of Berlin. Offer all the typical German dishes you can imagine. We tried 3 dishes (currywurst, knuckle and Königsberger Klopse). We got large portions and everyone enjoyed it very much. I had the Königsbergers, which were very tasty overall - but thanks to the potatoes, which were more like fried potatoes with herbs and spices, it all had a certain Mediterranean touch. But it wasn't too bad, because the overall impression was right with nice service and ambience :)

Great place in a cool neighborhood.

We ordered Knuckle "one of the best I've ever eaten" and curried sausage, the best in Berlin...the plates were super large and the waitress was super friendly and not at all expensive...super recommended!

Extremely underrated. Food was unexpectedly fantastic.... and super large portions. Bring an extra stomach or some friends to share with. This place deserves to have a larger venue. The manager (super pretty) was also very gracious, kind, and lovely. Great experience in every way.

One of the best restaurants in Berlin. I ate homemade German macaroni and I really liked it. Highly recommended for käsespettzle macaroni lovers. Kudos to the waitress, a very hospitable woman. I recommend mmm….

Unfortunately I can't say much about the food and drink... We were sent away because our two 11-year-old children had a popsicle in their hands.

they don't have a menu in English so many tourists come here and come back because they don't have a menu staff not friendly they determine that you can sit in half of the restaurant and not if you are not expecting anyone... IF YOU ARE A TOURIST, AVOID THIS PLACE

Super cozy little shop (velvet cocktail chairs and sofas) with friendly service and - above all - sensational food. The only thing is that the portions were so big that we simply couldn't finish them.

Delicious food here. We came here on the recommendation of our cycling tour guide. A nice place to eat really good schnitzels. It is a small restaurant, but we were lucky that there was still room. Within a short time the restaurant was completely full. The interior looks special, not the most romantic place. But the service is good, lovely lady serving, she did this on her own. So it took a while before we got our food and drinks. But it was worth the wait! The schnitzels are huge, so big that it is quite a feat to finish your plate.

What can I say? I love this place. The whole experience was awesome.

We had different versions of schnitzel, all very tasty. You can tell that people still cook properly here :) The tubers were also really good, we'll be back.

Good choice if exploring the German classics. Prices and quality are good. Portions are quite big, good to note before ordering a lot.

The food was incredibly tasty and really homemade and honest. We only had to wait a little longer, but it was full (1-1.1/2 hours). Overall a top shop, highly recommended!!!

Absolutely hands down best dinner we had in Berlin. Highly recommended if you are looking for home made german food. We had schnitzel and goulash and they were both outstanding. Good tasting white wine and also has alcohol free beer for anyone not drinking who doesn't want just soda

Went here on the recommendation of our cycling tour guide. Delicious curry sausage and schnitzel, friendly and hardworking service too. Reservations by telephone are recommended, as the restaurant only has room for a maximum of 25 people.

We sought this restaurant out as was close to our accommodation - we nearly missed it but were so glad we didn't. We both chose schnitzel and it was delicious. Embarrassed to not be able to finish the huge portion. We were in early evening so not busy but that suited us. The waiter was friendly, helpful and treated us to an after dinner shot.

Small but cozy and the schnitzel was excellent! The side dishes (vegetable pan and fried potatoes) were also well seasoned. Service very friendly and attentive. So if you like good German cuisine, you've come to the right place!

We came across this little traditional restaurant by chance and we loved it. The friendly service. And the cuisine is very generous. We had an escalope in 2 different ways (be careful, you have to have an appetite) and we enjoyed the tender meat and very crispy breadcrumbs. The decoration is nice. I recommend

Das Restaurant ist ziemlich klein, dadurch aber sehr gemütlich. Das essen war mega lecker, sehr große Portionen und das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis war top. Ich habe selten in einem Restaurant so leckere Bratkartoffeln gegessen, die Gerichte sind anders als man es bei der Oma kennt, aber auf eine super Art und Weise. Ich war mehr als positiv überrascht. Wir werden daher auf jeden Fall wieder kommen. Daher sehr zu empfehlen.

Bon restaurant avec des plats allemands pour des touristes qui veulent goûter local. La serveuse avait un peu du mal avec l'anglais mais on a réussi à se comprendre. Nous avons bu une peinte chaque, un plat assez consistant chaque et un dessert à deux et nous avons payé pas grande chose ! Je recommande vivement le currywurst et les bières que j'ai posté en photo !

Wir haben unser weihnachtliches Treffen im Wurscht&Knolle gehabt. Super leckere Gerichte und wahnsinnig große Portionen! Da ist der Preis fair!

Fui a cenar con mis compañeros de trabajo, y si bien el ambiente es agradable, me pareció pequeño en cuanto al espacio. Pedimos platos veganos y con carne, la mayoría demasiado abundantes. Casi todos dejaron comida en el plato. Me hubiese gustado más variedad en cuanto a los postres. Los cócteles ricos, pero con poquito alcohol.

Wir waren in einer größeren Gruppe (12) am 8.12. hier. Das Essen kam zügig und in großen Portionen. Ich hatte die Blutwurst, durfte aber auch beim Schnitzel meines Nachbarn und dem Wurtsteller probieren... - sehr gut die Kartoffeln zu den Gerichten! Es kann sein, dass der eine oder andere etwas Salz und Pfeffer vermissen könnte. Das kann man aber individuell noch nachjustieren ;-) . Alle Speisen waren sehr lecker, üppig und ansprechend serviert. Gute Deutsche Küche im Simon-Dach-Kiez - empfehlenswert! Preis/Leistung ist voll in Ordnung! Es war nur eine Bedienung für das ganze Lokal, das merke man ihr an, trotz Stress blieb sie aber richtig freundlich und war bemüht, alle Wünsche zu erfüllen. Vielen Dank dafür! Unbedingt zu empfehlen im Winter: Heiße Rhabarberlimonade! Ein kleiner Makel: bei vollem Lokal, wird die Luft irgendwann dick. Die Lüftung ist dem wohl nicht gewachsen. Aber das gibt's im Winter auch woanders... PS.: meine Angabe zu 'Preis pro Person' bezieht sich auf Essen und Getränke.

Super Schnitzel zu einem guten Preis. Im Sommer sitzt man gut draußen. Drinnen ist es gemütlich, leider jedoch sehr eng und laut. Ich würde fast behaupten, dass es hier das beste Schnitzel in Berlin gibt!

Después de probar muuuuchos snitzel puedo decir que sin duda este está en mi Top 3 en Berlín. La calidad buenísima, el empanado crujiente y finito. Eso sí la cantidad es enorme, yo recomendaría compartirlo, pero tienes la opción de llevártelo a casa si sobra. Las patatas de guarnición buenísimas también. La tabla de queso muy variada y bastante bien. El chico que nos atendió muy simpático. No dejéis de ir a probarlo, 100% recomendable.

Sehr geiler Laden, leider etwas klein deswegen am besten auf Nummer sicher und reservieren. Ansonsten rundum zufrieden . Preislich für die Portion auch im Rahmen.

Very big portions, good price, deliiiicious food. It was hard to choose what to eat but all the dishes ordered by me and my friends were super tasty. Just still curious about the fried ice cream that was unfortunately over. 😕

Az ajtó nyitva volt, nem engedték bezárni, ezért hideg volt, de ettől eltekintve kellemes volt az itt tartózkodás. A curry virsli kiváló volt a krumpli fenséges!

Fantastisch! Noch nie so eine kultige Lokalität in Berlin gesehen. Das Essen dauert zwar etwas, ist dafür aber wirklich ausgezeichnet. Eindach mal hingehen und genießen! Das einzigste was das Ambiente stört ist der Ferneher.

Was für Portionen, wir waren erschlagen. Top das Schnitzel, egal in welcher Variante. Sehr gute Esser schaffen es gerade so. Sehr frisch hausgemacht, nettes Personal. Leider etwas längere Wartezeit die hat sich aber gelohnt.

From its extra large but super tender snitchel to its perfectly cooked pork knuckle and tasty sausages with mustard this the ideal spot for anyone looking to experience local cuisine! Portions are gigantic, prices decent and service was above and beyond the usual. This was my favorite meal of 2022 and will definitely come back one day!

We wanted to eat some local food and found this restaurant. Very happy that we did! The food was excellent - very tasty - and the portions were huge. It’s the first time in years that my son hasn’t been able to finish his meal! Nice relaxed atmosphere. May need to book though as not many tables.
