Wurscht & Knolle in Berlin

The food is very tasty, large portions. We were able to sit down with difficulty, you need to book seats in advance. The atmosphere is strange, a lot of dusty things of different styles, very crowded inside. The staff does not have time to take orders and bring out food.

The situation is a bit unusual. We are puzzled. We ordered beer and schnitzels and warned that we have a strong allergy to nuts. The waiter warned that the kitchen is small, everything is prepared in one place and nuts can get into the schnitzels. When asked about the beer, he also explained that the kitchen is very small, there are nuts everywhere and that they can also get into the beer and he cannot risk our lives, so we never got the beer. We tried to explain that we often order schnitzels in different places and sometimes we are warned that nuts can be in the sprinkles and for us this is not a problem - we have medicine. And, most importantly, that the cook does not put nuts in the dish as an ingredient (and nuts were not listed as such on the menu). He objected and said that this is a different situation. We insisted that we wanted schnitzels and beer, and then he offered to sign a receipt that, if anything happens, they will not be held responsible. The receipt stated that we were aware that they had various types of nuts in their kitchen and that the waiter had informed the guests about this and that the guests ate here at their own risk. We signed, but the waiter insisted that we should be fully aware that we could die because we ate schnitzels and drank beer. This made us nervous and confused... On the one hand, this was concern for our health and our lives, as well as for the reputation of this restaurant, and all this is very correct and responsible. On the other hand, if they really can have nuts even in their beer and this is a common situation for them, I have a question, why don't they warn everyone about this in advance? After all, the menu contains information about the ingredients, but there is not a word about nuts in schnitzels and beer, and it is unclear how allergy sufferers are supposed to know about this unless they ask directly.

For a good meal, this is the right place! I’ve been here in April. It was the best Schnitzel und Kasespatzle I have ever had! And the man who brought us the food and drinks was really nice. We gave them a big tip 🙏🏼

This place was a huge disappointment. We went there based on the good reviews I had read but it didn’t live up to our expectations. My friend ordered a soup and it took them half an hour to realize they didn’t have it so we both ordered a currywurst which didn’t taste at all like one. It’s as if they haven’t tried any currywurst in Berlin. The potatoes were also disappointing and we just ended up not eating much at the end. The prices are extremely high taking into account their terrible service and the quality of the food.

A class of its own, you can feel like a local

The waiter said the food would take 30/40 min; in reality it took 1h10. The curry wurst was okay but quite expensive. Mmh.

The waitress was nice, but we waited almost two hours for three dishes, and when they arrived, they weren't what we had ordered. Maybe they were having a bad day, but we didn't have a good experience.

Very good food, nice service and nice atmosphere

Dishes- Duck’s leg, sausages and pork knuckle are highly recommended. Dishes are relatively big and full filled. We had a big feast with great beers!

On the advice of our bike tour guide, we went here for a delicious meal. I've never had such a delicious schnitzel as this one. It's quite large, so keep that in mind: the potatoes and vegetables are placed underneath the schnitzel, otherwise it wouldn't fit on the plate.

Delicious beer. Fantastic schnitzels, unsurpassed service. Thank you. The first time we came by chance, the second time we were specifically looking for it. And the mint shots "on the horse" are something.

A small German restaurant with a Kneipe (pub) vibe, it feels very local, despite being on a touristy street. The portions are gigantic (but priced accordingly). The food is a solid 4/5: good, satisfying, but nothing extraordinary. Overall, it’s a cool, unpretentious spot with a local feel and decent food. The 80-90s soundtrack is a special treat.

Came for the huge schnitzel and was impressed with the cheese spatzle instead. The schnitzel was huge indeed but a little dry; perhaps ordering one with a sauce would make it much better! I went there because the reviews were good. It was a great restaurant, just as other people had said. The staff were very attentive and polite, and I had a very pleasant time. Their specialty schnitzel was so filling that it was hard to eat it all by myself. The baked potatoes that came with it were also so delicious that I ended up finishing them all. The appearance of the restaurant is such that you might just walk right past it without realizing it.

We always eat here when in Berlin. The food is great, the portions are big, and the staff is friendly and fast.

Unfortunately, very disappointing. The waitress was very nice and quick. But everything else was a disaster. It was sloppy, and our table was unfortunately sticky. Overall, the place doesn't look very well-kept. The food, well, for the price, we expected more than just a full plate. The portions were huge, but the taste was average. For example, I had coriander on my goulash, which doesn't belong there and unfortunately, I don't like it. So please tidy up and clean up a bit, and maybe work on the recipes a bit.

Best of the best, could not recommend it enough

Unfortunately, I didn't have a great experience here. My juice spritzer gave me stomach cramps (I'm guessing it was old juice), the portions were nicely large but otherwise nothing special, and unfortunately, the only waitress was completely overwhelmed, meaning we couldn't order more drinks or ask for a lemon. Without a drinkable beverage, the last few pieces of schnitzel were difficult to swallow. If the dishes hadn't been so expensive, maybe we could have given them three stars.

My friend Romain ate well. After a wild night and a few drinks, we needed to fill our bellies before filling up on pleasure. This place really allows you to get closer to each other, don't hesitate.

The service was really nice and attentive; the staff was friendly, accommodating, and made an effort to make my stay pleasant. The ambiance was also inviting and cozy, so you generally felt at home. The food, however, still has some room for improvement. The schnitzel tasted okay. Unfortunately, the fried potatoes weren't up to the classic style: they were cut quite thickly, undercooked, and the seasoning used wasn't quite right. Overall, the food was okay, but with a little more attention to detail and more traditional preparation, it could have been much better. The potential is there—especially if the culinary aspect can be brought up to the level of the friendly service and ambiance.

We were just wandering around one evening looking for a good place for dinner. And we ended up at Wurscht & Knolle. Highly recommended: quaint, friendly, and great food. The selection is fantastic, and the schnitzel is enormous. Delicious fried potatoes! Everything at Wurscht & Knolle is perfect. Very friendly and attentive service (not to be taken for granted). A real insider tip. We were very satisfied. The prices were reasonable. Our plates were full, and we could take the rest to go...that's how Berlin hospitality should always be. And above all: good German cuisine!! Top notch.

Went there for dinner because of the good reviews. Unfortunately, it wasn't what I expected. The service was great, but the rest of the food was completely off. The schnitzel was huge, but unfortunately, it didn't taste very good. It also smelled funny. I couldn't eat it like that. When I was paying, I could have slipped on the floor from all the grease, and a look into the kitchen confirmed a lot of things. No recommendations, sorry.

Really good scnhitzel although I've tried better ones, I think the meat could have been a bit more juicy and the breaded a bit more crispy, but it was good and so big! Currywurst was lovely and huge portion. The waiter was really friendly, and we were able to have dinner on a Sunday night a bit late, we were the last ones left! Really grateful for that. Good experience overall!!

Great restaurant! I went there for dinner on Easter Sunday and the service was great! I'm still developing my German and the person who served me was super patient and didn't try to force me to speak English all the time. The portions are VERY generous, if you come with someone else, I recommend that you share, so the price of dinner here varies from 11 to 16 euros sharing.

Brilliant food at a good price and a lovely atmosphere

We just had dinner at Wurscht & Knolle on a winter Monday, and after several weeks of traveling around Germany, this was definitely the best meal we’ve had. We ordered the goulash and roasted pork with Knödel, and everything was absolutely wonderful. The sauerkraut was great, but I must admit we devoured the sweet red cabbage that came with the goulash. The portions are very generous and really worth the price (which is quite reasonable). The spices and fresh seasonings were plentiful and of excellent quality. Truly delicious food. We didn’t have dessert because we simply couldn’t eat another bite. We were served by Henrique, who I assume is the owner, and he was very kind. We also loved the atmosphere and the Pet Shop Boys playlist! We’ll definitely be back – highly recommend it!

We wanted something small to eat, I had the beef currywurst and my partner had a schnitzel gratinated with hollondaise and cheese. The currywurst was nice and spicy, something I sometimes miss with other currywursts and I thought that was good and is also typical for Berlin. Unfortunately, the food was generally very over-spiced and the curry sauce was also really sweet, which was a bit much and difficult to eat so much. You have to like that In contrast, the schnitzel was very tasty and we would be happy to come back for their schnitzel, which is also highly recommended. We were surprised at the portion sizes, which makes up for a lot, so if you like large portions and have a healthy appetite, you'll get your money's worth here, it's difficult to manage. Personally, I prefer to have a slightly smaller portion, but a well-balanced meal. The place itself could use some TLC, there are empty containers in the toilet area and the kitchen looks similar to the toilet if you look in there. So really very cramped and a bit dingy. That doesn't necessarily have to be the case, because the restaurant is otherwise charming.

Typical German food with a modern touch in a cozy and peculiar space with a service of 12 thanks to Enrique. Eating a good knuckle, and a good "breaded filet" can be had without having to pay a price in this charming restaurant. To recommend without a doubt.

The goulash was too sweet, too salty and too dry. Mushroom soup was good but also a bit salty. Liver prepared rather carelessly. Wiener Schnitzel is quite good and huge. The owners are very friendly and there is a schnapps at the end.
