Wiedhag-Alpe in Bad Hindelang

Nice restaurant, beautiful view, good food, and fair prices. So it has everything you could want after a hike.

It was a rather foggy day, and the highlight was a cozy stop for a snack. The mixed snack platter was very generous and attractively decorated, full of vitamins (even with grated horseradish, radishes, sprouts, etc.). The mountain cheese, venison salami, and Landjäger sausage were high-quality and tasty. The service was very friendly and attentive.

Easily accessible and beautifully situated. A good starting point for various hikes. There's a lovely new little playground.

Delicious cake and a great cappuccino from a real espresso machine. A top recommendation for coffee and cake! The location and view are fantastic anyway.

Prices are perfectly reasonable. We were there around 12:30 on our way back from the Iseler at lunchtime. Everything was perfect. Swimming is permitted in the adjacent pond, presumably for the snow cannons, and there are changing rooms available.

Great location, incredibly friendly staff. The only thing was the wieners, which were the worst I've ever eaten. I assume that was a batch issue; things like that don't usually sell. And yes, I should have contacted them right away, but it didn't work out.

At the end of the Smugglers' Trail, we stopped here for a bite to eat. The food and drinks were very good. Highly recommended – fried eggs with fried potatoes – and try the cider, too.

A lovely place to stop for a bite to eat on the Wiedhag hill, at the foot of the Iseler mountain in Oberjoch. Plenty of outdoor seating, especially the lounge chairs at the front with a fantastic view of Bad Hindelang and the Ostrachtal valley. A varied menu of food and drinks, with daily specials like yeast dumplings, is also available. Classics like currywurst with fries are also available. Highly recommended coffee (freshly ground and made with a portafilter machine).

Expensive and loud. Why does music have to blare from the speakers in the beautiful mountains?

After our hike and via ferrata, we were really looking forward to this inn – a beautiful location, a fantastic view, with a small lake right in front where you can even swim. Truly a prime location! Unfortunately, the disappointment with the service was all the greater. We arrived at 4:25 p.m., sat down, and were at the cash register at 4:28 p.m. The menu was a bit confusing – hot meals, snacks, dessert, drinks, all with different times. When we asked, they said the kitchen was still open. It was clear to us: that meant the hot menu. But when we ordered, they suddenly said the hot menu was already closed. So we changed our minds again and chose something from the cold menu. My boyfriend was able to order a bread platter – it was my turn right after that. But then the manager came over and said it was now 4:30 p.m., and they weren't taking any more orders from then on. Result: My boyfriend got something to eat, and I sat next to him and watched. My comment that we were both standing at the checkout at 4:28 p.m. was completely ignored. Instead, I was directed to the self-service refrigerator outside. Particularly disappointing: It was a simple bread platter – no effort, no hot food, nothing that couldn't be prepared in seconds. Instead of being somewhat flexible and customer-friendly, they made decisions strictly based on the time. The way they spoke to us was also very unfriendly, stressed, and lacking any empathy. Conclusion: • Location & view: fantastic 🌄 • Service & treatment of guests: disastrous ❌ An absolute no-go for me. You can tell that they lack enthusiasm for their work and service. With a little warmth and flexibility, it would have been a wonderful stay. Unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment.

Friendly staff and delicious food at reasonable prices. The quality is impeccable, with mostly regional or homemade products. Absolutely family-friendly! Card payments are accepted, and Wi-Fi is available. The view is beautiful, and there are plenty of seating areas around the hut. There's a playground for the little ones. It takes about 5 minutes to reach the Wiedhag cable car.

Delicious food and reasonable prices. Friendly staff, large portions. Great view. And it's great that we could pay by card. One suggestion for improvement: the gravy on the kids' spaetzle wasn't to our taste.

The warm apple strudel was delicious. The buttermilk was well chilled. Beautiful outdoor area with lounge chairs. Great view of the lake and the mountains.

We were there on July 22, 2025, for the sunset cruise. It was a very beautiful evening with the musical accompaniment of the alphorn players and the setting sun (unfortunately, in July you can't see the sun setting directly, as it's obscured by two hills), the delicious food, and the play of colors of the illuminated mountains. We had to wait about an hour for our food, but that was due to the large crowd that evening. Yes, the kitchen couldn't do more than work...at this point: Many thanks to everyone involved for making this evening (my wife's 50th birthday) a wonderful experience. Thank you for your kindness despite the stress!!! 🙏🙏🙏

Beautiful view, very tasty food (everything seems homemade), friendly staff at the self-service counter.

Great alpine hut, excellent food, and a wide selection of snacks and hot meals. It was quite busy during our visit, but everything went very quickly and was delicious! The hut's location is fantastic, and the lake next to it offers a great place to cool off your feet or, for the braver ones, a great place to swim!

I can't comment on the hut or the restaurant itself, but the lake is wonderfully refreshing and perfect for a swim! So don't forget your towel and swimsuit. There's also a changing room. You can access the lake via a ladder from a floating jetty.

On our hike from the P1 parking lot in Oberjoch to the summit cross on Mount Iseler, we passed the Wiedhag-Alpe hut about halfway through the hike. It was open even in less-than-perfect weather. We had a very good lunch; all four dishes were delicious. The value for money was excellent. The service was incredibly friendly and attentive. I definitely recommend stopping here!

We "only" had a drink on our hike. Great coffee from the portafilter. The other visitors' food looked very tasty, though. Friendly staff. Prices that are, in my opinion, justified for a mountain hut. We'd gladly go back.

It's simply irresponsible to secure a trampoline like that. In the twenty minutes we were there, two children hurt themselves. We certainly hurt more children if we hadn't warned other children and their parents. Despite warning them, the owner did nothing. Even though he had to bring ice to cool things down. The food was quite tasty, but not cheap.

A wonderful alpine hut at the foot of a small lake. Swimming is permitted, but be careful—it's cold! We ordered the "Strammer Max" (a traditional Austrian dish) and Kaiserschmarren (a pancake with apple sauce). Both were wonderful! We liked the refreshing buttermilk best—simply delicious! We also thought the €1.10 per glass of tap water was a great deal, compared to the €3.00 price of table water. I don't think I need to say anything about the panorama—very beautiful!

During our hike up the Iseler, we took a short break to catch our breath 👍🏼 It was still far too early to stop for a bite to eat, but the menu offers a nice selection. The fantastic view from up here is also particularly nice, as is the opportunity to cool off in the lake ✔️

Good food and good coffee. Prices are reasonable. The view is very nice. However, the hut owner, who is rather brusque towards several guests, somewhat detracts from the atmosphere and ambiance. However, the staff at the cash register and waitresses are friendly.

Today we went up to Wiedhag-Alpe on our e-bike, but unfortunately there is no e-bike station. When I asked if there was a socket somewhere, I got a clear NO. Thank you

Very nice trip to “warm up” We chose the tour with our 6-year-old daughter in order to acclimatize for further tours. The height of 1440 m doesn't demand that much from you. Paved path from the mountain railway to the Alpe. With children and a break it takes about an hour. It would be nice if hikers took their dog poop bags with them and didn't leave them on the benches for a short break. Disgusting. Nice panorama. The hut per se offers typical drinks and dishes. You can sit nicely and enjoy the view. Prices normal Some play equipment for children (trampoline) Everything was nicely done but nothing special. The mountain lake is fenced in (probably for good reason). The view suffers somewhat as a result. We went down by cable car. Thanks to WalserCardPlus I have no information about the prices.

Very nice and very well visited Alpe. Easily accessible on foot or by cable car. There are plenty of loungers and seats outside where you can relax. The prices are fair, the portions are good and the great view does the rest.

Super tasty Kaiserschmarrn, and with the view you won't want to leave. Toilets were very clean, self-service, but everyone was very friendly. We were here often.

Wow. A hut that puts a lot of effort into the food. Super tasty, healthy, visually beautiful. That's rare. Plus a fantastic view. The Tyrolean Dudel music doesn't have to be there, sometimes silence is nice, but if that's all 😊

We ate here after a hike. The whole team was super friendly and in a good mood. We had the Wiedhagburger. The meat was cooked to a nice medium rare and not “dead” and dry. The highlight were the fries! Friendliness and quality/taste were great. Recommended. And also the beautiful view of the mountains.

Very nice location with good food. We had yeast dumplings from the daily menu and a hard Max. Both were very good, we were too hungry to take photos. The staff was very friendly, the hut is self-service. The location is nice, as is the view, but the water storage for the winter isn't quite as fancy. I can fully recommend the hut.

Beautiful, well-kept alp with a wonderful view. Excellent food! It's not just the caramelized Kaiserschmarrn that's great. All employees are always super friendly. The atmosphere during the sunset cruises is also great in summer. Overall, a very, very big compliment to Andy and his entire team. Keep it up - we'd love to come back!

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 A true gem in the mountains! The Alm impresses with good food and warm hospitality. I particularly liked the fenced-in mountain lake - perfect for a refreshing swim after a hike. For the little ones there is a large trampoline that offers lots of fun. The view is gorgeous and the atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. Totally recommended for anyone who wants to enjoy nature and have a delicious meal at the same time!

The view is simply great 👌the ascent and descent for an older chamois was associated with severe muscle soreness the next day🥺The Kaiserschmarren made up for the effort.

We were there after the big Iselergrat hike. Ordering was quick, the food was ready after 10-15 minutes! It was absolutely fine. Very tasty and a lot. There was no stinginess, which is what we have come to expect from other huts. The tarte flambée was vegan and there was a large vegetarian selection. When we saw the prices, we were even more surprised. Not a rip off or overpriced! The atmosphere when cows walk right past was also totally relaxing. Totally recommended and we would go back immediately!🥰

Great location and view. You can even swim in the water reservoir lake, but it is really cold. Friendly fast service, self-service. The beer table sets are only moderately comfortable. I thought the food was good and the selection was good too. Prices are OK.

This week we went again on the sunset trip to the "Wiedhag-Alpe" Shortly before the start it rained heavily, thank you that it took place! The evening was perfect, there was a beautiful sunset accompanied by the sounds of the alphorn. The food is great, there is even something for vegans (salad, tarte flambée, ice cream) As always, the service is very friendly and accommodating! The ambience speaks for itself, the view speaks for itself and the Wieshag-Alpe itself is very well maintained and tidy. We'd love to come back.

This goal is very worthwhile! We were here when the weather wasn't so nice and there was fog above. But that was particularly nice because it was a wonderful atmosphere. It was very comfortable inside and the service was friendly and relaxed. Aldi meals that we saw on the tables everywhere looked very tasty and we also really enjoyed our food! Thank you for the nice hospitality.

In the currant spritzer you could only recognize the currant by its color. Flädlessuppe was quite okay. The view is beautiful and there are also a few play options for children.

There are delicious dishes and a beautiful view here. There is also a small playground (swing and trampoline) for the children. For a small stop on the hike, for example the smuggler's path (as of May 11, 2024 not yet accessible due to snow!)

Very nice panorama. There's must here. Service was unfortunately very slow, but that was because the poor lady had to do everything herself.

We've eaten there twice so far and have to say that it tastes great. The dishes are deliciously prepared and well presented. Every trip up the mountain is worth it, even if you partially sink into the snow on foot. The service was very nice and accommodating, special requests due to allergies were fulfilled. The prices are absolutely justified, you also have to remember that it is an immense logistical effort to supply such a hut on the mountain and also to bring the staff up and down... We will definitely be back!

Uncomfortable hut at the top of the Wiedhag. The food is very tasty and tastes simply great. The service is very friendly and accommodating. Perfect for taking some time out.

I've been there three times now. Every time the food was great and the service was quick, attentive and friendly. It's understandable that it takes a little longer when there's a crowd. Everything is freshly handmade.

Beautiful place with a wonderful view of the mountains. You can take beautiful walks here and enjoy the fresh mountain air all day long. Had a delicious meal and a delicious glass of wine, in short, we had a great holiday.

Tolle Alpe, Aussicht wunderschön, Essen lecker und für eine Alpe faire Preise. Für uns absolut empfehlenswert!

Schöne Alm mit Bewirtung. Essen ist sehr lecker und gut organisiert, man wartet nur sehr kurz (auch am Wochenende und gutem Wetter). Essen ist lecker, wobei ich nur den Apfelstrudel beurteilen kann. Die Aussicht ist sehr schön. Erwähnenswert ist die Möglichkeit im kleinen Speichersee zu baden! Kalt Ber sehr erfrischend!

Schöne Alpe aber Recht touristisch - mit Blick auf den Iseler und nach Oberjoch und ins Tal nach Bad Hindelang. Schöne Terrasse - Essen ist auch sehr gut - vor allem die Bratkartoffeln sind zu empfehlen - allerdings ist das Personal Recht unfreundlich... Ansonsten leider Recht überlaufen, da die Alpen auch nur 30 Min und ca 100 Höhenmeter von der Bergstation der Iseler Bahn entfernt ist.
