Bergsteiger-Hotel "Grüner Hut" in Bad Hindelang

We were there for dinner at the beginning of October and really enjoyed it. Food and service were good. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was great!

For several years we have been coming here at the end of our hike and experiencing perfect hospitality and excellent food!

Were here for the sixth time in a row and have booked again for next year. Great team, delicious food, perfect all around!

Everything was great, we were warmly welcomed in our time of need, we would be happy to come back even if we weren't in need.... We are already looking forward to our visit in 2024 👋 So we were back at the beginning of September 2024 and everything was extremely satisfied 👍👍👍👍👍

Recommended mountaineering hotel. Good food, nice rooms, nice staff and an absolutely brilliant breakfast buffet. Absolutely brilliant.

We didn't sleep here, we just ate here. Great location, large outdoor area, requires reservation. Food something unusual and very tasty. Had a bit of trouble ordering, wanted a side dish, the main course came, now despite everything, all's well that ends well. Oh yes, self-service in the outdoor area before 6 p.m.

As always, when we are in beautiful Hinterstein, a visit to the Green Hut is a must. Conveniently reserve a table online, arrive and feel at home. Top service team! Super fast and totally friendly. Great, rustic restaurant on the edge of the mountaineering village of Hinterstein. The food is incredibly delicious and authentic. The service was super good and nice.

The best steaks are in the Green Hut. Friendly service. Small but nice menu. We can only recommend it after a hike. Still recommended after 7 years. But please order in advance.

Very good food, very accessible and the food is great. I personally recommend the Hochvogel Burger, which tastes very good and the highlight is the egg yolk, which is still liquid

We spent a night in the Grüner Hut after a hut hike and thought the concept was great. You have the amenities of a hotel, but at a great price thanks to the shared rooms, which are simple but equipped with everything you need. Very clean sanitary facilities and options for drying clothes. Both dinner and breakfast were extremely tasty (the dishes are very creative). The employees were all very friendly and always helpful! We were completely thrilled and will definitely come back!

Yesterday I was in the green hat again. You can highly recommend the onion roast there and my wife was really impressed with your burger. We were served personally by the landlord and a young, very nice waitress. We are already looking forward to the next time

A very good place, I recommend it for a stopover, if you want to visit Shrek Lake, you won’t find a more convenient place, the hotel has free parking and a very tasty breakfast of high-quality and tasty products.

We have been visiting this great restaurant for years! Whether after a mountain tour, for a delicious beer in the evening or with dinner. The mountaineering hotel leaves no wishes unfulfilled! Fantastic ambience, imaginative menu, friendly host and super friendly staff!

The Grüner Hut in Hinterstein is a beautiful, warm and cozy restaurant! I have enjoyed coming here for many years and am always impressed by the friendly staff, the delicious food and drinks, and the cozy atmosphere that this restaurant has to offer! Everyone feels welcome at the Green Hut and that gives the restaurant a wonderful flair and creates a great atmosphere in which you can really feel at home! I'm really looking forward to my next visit!

We wanted to stop for a quick stop after our lovely hike when we came across this restaurant. We said hello, politely asked if there was still a table available for two, and without even greeting us we were answered with a small hello, nothing at all: "Only inside!!" So we sat down, my companion ordered a wheat dish, which took 10 minutes. Then the question was, what do I actually want?!?!?! I would have liked to have offered and brought the menu first, as is usual in the restaurant😃 That again took a very long time. No interest in serving us much. I then paid, but because we were hungry, I went ahead again and said politely again: "Excuse me, we would like you to have something to eat with them" Answer:" "Yes, you have to wait, I'll come then!" Then she came:" Hello! here I am ! What do you want now?!?!?!" No, please, no thank you, no friendliness, zero professionalism. What I would have liked:" If you'll excuse me, I'm going to visit another guest and I'll be there for you in a moment. Then when she's there, she can say something like:" What can I bring them? I can recommend this or that to you." Nothing like that! Then I asked if the lady had a charging cable for my flashlight. "No! I didn't! "If I say I don't have one, I damn well don't have one"!!! To finally get to the point; Rarely have we been treated so unprofessionally, rudely, disinterestedly and in a peasant-like manner, even though we ourselves were polite and friendly.

A very good small hotel, with a good breakfast and good cuisine. Cozy, rustic furnishings and an inviting terrace. Very suitable for a short break in nature. From here you can start numerous tours, on foot or by bike. We were there again and we will come again.

Restaurant with a beautiful outdoor area where we always enjoyed taking a break after hiking. Good cuisine at very reasonable prices. The outdoor area is self-service, as is the case in Bavarian beer gardens. Table service is also available from 6 p.m. A visit is worthwhile even without a previous hike. 😉

My bride and I are celebrating our 64th wedding anniversary today and enjoyed our feast of "delicious asparagus" in the Bergsteiger Hotel near Bastian and his nice, friendly, attentive ladies and would like to thank you for a wonderful mountaineering experience "Berg heil"

We have been going to Hinterstein for over 20 years and have often eaten at the Grüner Hut, whether the waitress or the boss himself is always very friendly and attentive. The food is very good and the atmosphere is very pleasant. Because we were only there to eat, I can't rate the rooms. We'd love to come back.

Had lunch with the family at the “Grüner-Hut” in Hinterstein. Very nice atmosphere, in a great location. Despite the fact that it was self-service, we were served very friendly at the table. We were also immediately offered to move a second table so that we would have more space. Food came very quickly and was really very tasty. We had a lovely stay and came out feeling very inspired. Happy to come back!

A great accommodation in a great location

Nice restaurant, great atmosphere, very nice service, prices ok. We stopped in for a coffee and a piece of strudel after hiking and can highly recommend it!

We were in the restaurant here, the food is highly recommended. The ambience of the restaurant is lovingly decorated and the handwork of the renovation can also be seen here. Orders for drinks and food came very quickly and the food was very tasty! Regional products are processed here into great dishes and served on the plate. We'd love to come back!

Very tasty and unusual dishes, prepared with attention to detail. This time I had the "crazy chicken", pulled chicken on red cabbage on half a soul, with marinade and homemade potato wedges. Sounds good? It was also super tasty and I can only warmly recommend it 😋 😋 😋 Unfortunately no picture was taken of the food, it's best to see for yourself. My partner ate classic cheese spaetzle, which is also recommended 👌🏻 We would love to come back on our next vacation!

I can only speak for the restaurant. The regional steaks were very tasty and medium fried. One of the three was not evenly thick and therefore medium rare on one side and well done on the other, but it was still good. The cheese spaetzle as it should be and the burger with camembert and mango on bread, although not a burger in the original sense, was super tasty .

Been there twice. The first time around, the service was super friendly and funny despite the obviously high workload. The second time, the service seemed surprisingly rude and looked at the ceiling when asked, looking bored/annoyed. When asked if there was a problem, professionally friendly. Food is always great!!

We had a really tasty meal there!!Traditional, but modernly interpreted cuisine. Absolutely within the price range. We will be happy to come back.

Food was solid and tasty. Have eaten there several times. Unfortunately, we once again had the feeling of not being welcome. Example 1: Group 7 adults, 3 small children and a baby. Asked if we could push two 4-seater tables together: from the pistol: NO (due to an incident that doesn't want to be elaborated further). Worth mentioning: the shop wasn't particularly full, few of the reserved tables were occupied during the stay. It was stupid outside, which is why we accepted this statement. Baby stayed in the carrier otherwise we wouldn't have had space... Example 2: In the evening (hours before closing time); no more self-service. Ordered glasses were cleared away “so that there was space on the table” without asking if we would like to drink something else. I then saved the money with all my heart. Half of it tastes so much better at home 👍 On the whole, certain staff seem to be severely overwhelmed given the small number of guests. You have a bit of a feeling of being unwanted. 2 stars for the chef, who delivers flawlessly 😘

Sehr schön im Ostrachtal gelegenes Hotel,familiär, freundlicher Service. Kleine,aber feine Speisekarte Rindersteak absolutes Highlight. Bergtouren können direkt vor der Tür begonnen werden.

Preis leistung sehr gut. Qualität vom essen sehr gut. Trotz selbstbedienung netter service.

Wir waren zu Besuch beim Grüner Hut. Und haben Käsespätzle Allgäuer Art mit Salat gegessen. Es war sehr lecker.

Wir waren nur zum Abendessen in Restaurant. Werden aber im Dezember im Hotel zwei Tage dort im Hotel sein.

Ein leckerer Apfelstrudel mit heißer Vanillesauce hat das Warten auf den Bus sehr schön versüßt.

Für mich der perfekte Urlaubsort, tolles Hotel, superschöne Einrichtung, leckeres Essen, nettes Personal und in einer traumhaften Lage. Jederzeit wieder!

Wir haben heute im Restaurant nach unserer Wanderung Rast gemacht, im ansprechenden Außenbereich Kaffe und Kuchen sowie eine Radler genossen und Pommes 🍟 gegessen. Unsere Hündin stellte kein Problem dar, sie bekam schnell frisches Wasser, DANKE!! Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt, der Kuchen war lecker und , trotz Selbstbedienung war der Service sehr freundlich. Wir werden om nächsten Urlaub gerne wieder einmal einkehren!

Mein Partner und ich hatten das perfekte Wochenende auf der Grüner Hut. Wir waren zwei Tage lang wandern und dies war der beste Ort. Das Zimmer hat alles, was man braucht, es ist neu und gemütlich. Das Essen...DAS BESTE! Ich habe noch nie so einen guten Veggie-Burger gegessen 😋 probiert mal den lokalen Snappy 😎. Der Service top vor allem der freundliche lustige Mann (leider weiß ich seinen Namen nicht mehr). Außerdem fährt der Bus genau vor der Haustür ab! Danke für das perfekte Erlebnis, wir kommen wieder🥰

Waren nur Restaurantbesucher...

Eine gute Auswahl an Essen und Getränken! Das Essen wird frisch und mit viel Liebe zubereitet. Besonders die Burger-Menüs, die nach umliegenden Bergen benannt sind, sind zu empfehlen! Das Fleisch kommt von glücklichen Allgäuer Rindern und das Burgerbrot ist selbstgemacht. Wir kommen wieder!

Wir machten 3 Tage Stop in dieser Unterkunft und hatten keine großen Erwartungen. Gegend, Unterkunft, Service alles perfekt. Und die Gastgeber einfach nur spitze.

Ich kann nur von der Gastronomie berichten. Es empfiehlt sich auf jeden Fall zu reservieren. Ist auch ein Hinweis auf der Homepage vorhanden. Der Außenbereich und zum Schluss der Innenbereich waren gut ausgelastet. Das Ambiente ist modern und eher gehoben. Die Bedienungen wirkten gestresst und es gab eine Tendenz zur Überheblichkeit/Arroganz. Ich fühlte mich dort nicht willkommen und somit eher unwohl. Essen war gut aber nicht atemberaubend.

Passt alles. Keine Wünsche offen.

Hinterstein ist ein perfektes Bergdorf. Ausgang für schöne Bergtouren. Ruhige Lage.

Der grüne Hut in Hinterstein ist definitiv ein must visit wenn man im Raum Bad Hindelang Urlaub macht! Hier erwartet einen nicht nur eine tolle Atmosphäre und ein charmantes Team, sondern auch absolut hervorragendes Essen. Isa und Patrick zaubern Meisterwerke in der Küche von denen man nicht genug bekommen kann. Alles in allem komme ich immer wieder gerne her und jeder der noch nicht hier eingekehrt ist verpasst etwas.

Ich war nur zu Gast im Restaurant draußen. Dort sitzt man toll, der Ausblick ist wunderbar. Bedienung sehr freundlich. Preise sind angemessen.

Super nettes Personal, leckeres Essen, gemütliche Location mit traumhaftem Ausblick auf die Berge in Hinterstein. Leider noch keine Übernachtung mitgemacht, deswegen kann ich die Zimmer nicht bewerten. Alles in allem eine sehr gelungene Gastronomie. 🤗👍

Speisen sind sehr schmackhaft und wirklich empfehlenswert 🤤 Manche vom Service haben leider ihren Beruf verfehlt. Ich möchte als Gast nicht ignoriert werden und ich möchte auch nicht mit einem Kaugummi kauendem ( knatachend mit weit offen Mund) vom Personal begrüßt werden.
