A beautiful hut with a great view. The food is rather expensive overall! Unfortunately, there was sand in the large mixed salad – we sent it back. Up until this point, it wouldn't have been a problem, and with a friendly "sorry," we would have accepted it all. However, the manager's response was anything but friendly and accommodating. Accusations were leveled at us as guests, and we weren't believed… so we won't be eating here again and can't recommend the restaurant to anyone!

Unfortunately, it was very disappointing. Even though it wasn't that busy on a Sunday around 4:45 p.m., we still had to wait 45 minutes for three self-service dishes. The spinach dumplings were too salty, the Kaiserschmarrn was dry and had absolutely nothing to do with what defines a Kaiserschmarrn, and it was just berries from a wholesale jar. Only the cheese spaetzle were very tasty, but they would have liked a side salad (good value for money). As for the staff, they were generally very unfriendly. Especially the lady who served us; her bad mood had no place in the beer garden.

We've been vacationing in the Allgäu for many years, and the Moorhütte is always on our itinerary. This year, we wanted to stop there and arrived to show it to our friends. Since we were a bit short on time, we unfortunately couldn't get anything to drink there. We then asked how much it cost to use the restroom, saying we would gladly pay. The answer surprised us: we were only allowed to use the restroom if we also consumed something. 🤷‍♀️ The manager had said so; there were signs posted there, too. If we had just left, no one would have noticed, but honesty seems to be punished there. Too bad: we will never visit this place again and have even told our group (everyone always enjoys going there).

We ordered cheese spaetzle and beer-coachman's goulash with bread dumplings. We've never had such bad cheese spaetzle. The spaetzle were probably not homemade, and they tasted that way. We're from Swabia, so we know cheese spaetzle and have eaten them often in the Allgäu region. The cheese was already cold and hardening when it was served. In the end, I had a lump of spaetzle and cheese. Extremely disappointing. I had to leave it after a few forks. The beer-coachman's goulash, which was advertised as being served in a dark beer sauce, also didn't live up to our expectations. It was a typical Hungarian paprika and tomato sauce, not a beer sauce. The mushrooms served with it, however, were delicious. The drinks, service, and view were all fantastic. We'll look for something else next time, though.

Beautiful hut right next to the large parking lot, ideal for a stop before or after a hike. We had delicious apple strudel. Parking is €5 per day.

I can't comment on the food or the ambiance. I went swimming in the mud bath next door. There's a large sign there that reads, "Restrooms can be used in the mud hut." When it started to rain, we sheltered under the awning. The waitress invited us in. I asked if I could use the restroom. She said, only if we had a drink. I pointed to the sign in the mud bath, to which she replied that not everyone who reads the sign is allowed to use the restroom. It only applies to bathing in good weather. So why is the sign there? I guess it's not necessary to understand. To clarify: I already mentioned that I went swimming. Apparently, they didn't believe me and merely shrugged their shoulders. What a shame!

We were at the beautiful mud bath on Saturday and wanted to get something to eat at the mud hut. I had thrown a beach towel over my bikini (we didn't want to eat in the mud hut). The waitress was unfortunately very unfriendly and spoke to me very unfriendly, so I left. A little later, four women in bikinis arrived and were served by her. I don't know why guests are treated differently. By the way, bad reviews also get deleted. I will definitely not go there again. Reply to the reply: Unfortunately, I have to repeat myself: I was wearing a bikini with a cape over it! They didn't speak to me in a friendly manner, but rather disparagingly with the following sentence: "What do you look like?" – and they did this several times. Labeling me as insulted and childish in light of their "friendly" welcome is a real cheek. If they had spoken to me in a truly friendly manner, the situation would have turned out very differently. Besides, they aren't the only people who have to work. However, unlike them, I treat people differently at work. It wasn't just the relatives who were outraged – like me. I also overheard a complete stranger standing behind me making negative comments about their behavior. Of course, they have the right to refuse entry, but I'll repeat myself: How do you explain that four women in bikinis who arrived after me were allowed to order and pick up their food? Thank you for the offer, but I will refrain from spending my money with you in the future. My review is not a threat, but a statement of the facts. And if you consider this damaging to your business, then you should ask yourself why/if you want to harm yourself with such behavior!

Very unfriendly, they do everything listlessly and in a stressed manner. The human touch is either missing or not innate. The service staff can't answer questions either; you just get yelled at. Not recommended.

Nice beer garden with a good location. It's self-service outside. One window for ordering and drinks, and one for picking up food. Naturally, the system results in waiting times if the line gets long. The prices are a bit above average, but that's probably also due to the good location. Card payments are accepted starting at €20.

We had two salads and a Kaiserschmarrn today. The salads were fantastic, absolutely fresh and delicious! The Kaiserschmarrn, however, was so sweet and overly sugary that we couldn't finish it. But that can happen sometimes. Everything else outweighs the bad, and we'd gladly come back.

Actually a nice place, but a bit crowded during good weather and holidays. The salad was good, but nothing more. The mud bath next door was still worth a visit.

Disgraceful shop! The nerve... I had to wait 20 minutes for an ice cream... I politely asked, as all my friends had already ordered... and the woman at the counter completely freaked out... I've never been treated so rudely in a restaurant... it's unacceptable!

A pretty, cozy cabin with two rooms, each with its own style. Delicious food – the cheese spaetzle was very cheesy – you have to like it and tolerate it. Service was very friendly and quick (it's not very busy). A great place to stop before or after a walk in the moor or after a dip in the mud bath right next door.

The Moorhütte is absolutely recommended! The food was delicious, and the service is attentive and fulfills almost every wish - simply great! The house itself is also very cozy and well-kept. Particularly noteworthy: the toilets - extremely clean and pleasant, you rarely find something like that!

It's been a while since I've been here, but I remember it very well. Maybe I'll be able to come again this year.

Always a great end to a day of hiking. There is plenty of parking space right in front and there are also plenty of seats. Self-service outdoor area. Ate dumplings, they were very tasty. Toilets in the basement, not sure if there is a disabled toilet upstairs.

It's all ok. The service is absolutely awesome. The lady rocks the whole hut. She has everything under control, is super friendly, everywhere at the same time and still in a great mood. The atmosphere is very nice and you immediately feel at home. The food is very tasty and they take care of allergies and specialties. We keep coming back.

We tried to stop there in the fall during a stopover. From our point of view, the reception was unfriendly. We came at lunchtime when there were no customers and seemed to be a bother. I had the impression that people thought that as a family with three small children we were 'consuming too little'. The 'men's drinking club', which arrived shortly after us, was warmly welcomed. We drove back from Oder before ordering and can't rate the food. The location of the restaurant is great.

Great location right next to the ski lift. The service was extremely friendly and chatty. The small menu means you have a manageable selection of surprisingly high-quality dishes. I ate here on two days and was very happy with the food and everything about it. Absolute recommendation for the ski area!

Hut directly at the parking lot to the ski lift. Grabbed something for lunch from the outside window. Food was ok so far. Deduction due to the long waiting time at lunchtime. At least a hint should be given here if it sometimes takes half an hour for a portion of fries.

December 2024, Worst Kasierschmarren ever and a mega unfriendly staff. The Kaiserschmarren looked very nice at first glance; it was served with applesauce and berries. Unfortunately it didn't taste good at all, it was completely over-sweetened and tasted burnt. The apple strudel was undercooked and almost cold. We even brought the plates inside ourselves. All 3 plates were still about 3/4 full. The staff was asked about it and all they got was a “phew”, bad luck. We were really stunned by this reaction. Therefore, for us, never again, zero recommendation. That's not how you treat guests. The operator's reaction speaks volumes. The visit can also be proven with a receipt that was paid by card and all 3 guests would also submit an affidavit that it was the same. As an innkeeper, you should respond appropriately to legitimate criticism that is neither defamatory nor offensive, question your performance and not threaten to get a lawyer. I will forward my review and the operator's response to various media. Because I feel unjustifiedly attacked here and find a threat to the lawyer to be completely inappropriate and even insulting. The Moorhütte has an absolutely great location and offered us a beautiful, snowy and sunny terrace at lunchtime. Actually a very nice place to visit. Unfortunately, on that day, apart from one cafe in the town itself, all the other dining establishments we passed while hiking were closed. Unfortunately, in my opinion, in places that are popular with tourists, the price/performance ratio is often not always right.

Great restaurant to have something sensible to eat after a day of skiing. Quality is good, my recommendation are the Käsespatzen

We were checking out the mountains and came across this by chance. We had the best Bavarian food here, the duck and potato dumpling here is amazing!! I ate quite a few traditional German food and nothing comes close to this. This is place is for sure highly recommended and the scenary here is alsp gorgeous. We come all the way from Singapore and no regrets coming here!!

We went to the Moorhütte for dinner. We were more than thrilled. The food was super tasty and well prepared. Great portions. Price performance is top. The staff was very friendly and fun, the whole dining room had fun and laughed together. We would come back at any time.

The Moorhütte in Oberjoch is a real insider tip and for me a place full of nostalgia and well-being. I enjoyed the mud bath there as a child, and now, years later, the magic of this place hasn't changed a bit. The hut exudes coziness and warmth, just as I remembered. The rustic ambience paired with warm hospitality makes every visit a highlight. The cuisine is excellent - regional specialties are prepared fresh and with a lot of love. The hearty dishes and homemade cakes in particular are simply delicious. The mud bath, which I loved as a child, still offers a soothing break for body and soul today. The effect of the natural moor is noticeable and ensures deep relaxation. The feeling of diving into the warm moor water after a long day in the mountains is simply incomparable. For me, the Moorhütte is not only a place to eat and relax, but also a piece of childhood memory that has remained alive. I can only warmly recommend anyone who comes to Oberjoch to stop here. Five stars are actually not enough for this wonderful place!

Nice excursion destination, stop after the moor tour, for example. Unfortunately I can't say anything about the food, but the room was full on Monday lunchtime. Unfortunately, the outside seating and the interior (toilet including access stairs) are very outdated.

Unfortunately underground for allergy sufferers. We were harshly rejected even though I had received friendly, different information from another service person four weeks earlier. We then left and were insulted because we were angry. We then had a delicious meal somewhere else. It's a shame because the location is nice.

Located on the edge of the moor with a beautiful view

We once had Kaiserschmarrn (€14.50), a piece of cake and a cappuccino for a total of €22. All three were delicious and I was glad I shared it with my wife. We are both pleasantly full. Next door is a small moor bathing pond which was very refreshing. In the adjacent pasture were the beautiful Allgäu cows with little bells. Very idyllic to look at. Parking spaces cost €3 per day. Buses stop nearby.

Absolutely rude staff! When it was returned due to an insect in the vinegar (I'm vegan), another one was handed out with clear displeasure and clear annoyance and then the food distribution window was slammed shut in my face. Unbelievable!

Delicious cheese spaetzle! This hut is located on the German side of the Tannheimer Valley directly on the raised moor. The service is super friendly and the cheese spaetzle are some of the best I've eaten in the valley.

Too expensive in my opinion for the quality and self-service offered.

Food was very greasy and seemed to have been warmed up instead of freshly made. Fried potatoes were “old” and then almost fried again. Kaiserschmarrn was also very fatty and tasted like fried dough. Zero fluffy, no larger pieces but thin, crispy, far too sweet, greasy scraps of dough. Unfortunately that has nothing to do with nonsense... What a shame. It's nice to sit and there's plenty of parking space.

After a long hike over the Iseler, we stopped there and had the best meal in a very long time. I had a burger that was one of the best I've ever tasted. Really great, keep it up👍🏻

I would like to give 10 stars. I ate here with my son almost every day during our hospital stay. No matter which dish you chose, everything was fresh and super tasty. Absolutely worth the money. I would love to take this delicious cuisine home with me :) If I go on holiday here again, I will definitely come back. You have to eat here.

We always enjoy going to the Moorhütte to eat. The service is extremely friendly and attentive! We love the great Kaiserschmarrn, but the Kässpatzen or the snack board are also very tasty...always nice!

Communication in advance was difficult. Ordering and delivery went quickly (it wasn't busy). I ate the following: Cottage pan - highly recommended (5 strips of meat loaf - a little bit) Homemade Kässspatzen - were good Schnitzel Viennese style - disappointing and not fresh Fries were 50% too hard (fork couldn't get through) or too dark Schnitzel very light and nothing special Side salad etc. everything is extra (you are asked if you want it but it is not mentioned that it costs something. With three beers ~70€

First of all - the best potatoes I've eaten in my life. The asparagus was so well, the pike perch was great, salad and cheese pätzle too. But I'm very critical when it comes to judging: the table was sticky and damp and hadn't been cleared when we sat down and wasn't wiped down either. The toilet doors in the basement are open and we paid €66 for two people, expensive in my opinion.

We went there because of the good reviews of the Kaiserschmarrn and were now very disappointed... it was probably homemade, the only question is when. I was surprised that the food was ready so quickly because, as we all know, Kaiserschmarrn takes quite a while to be on the table. After less than 10 minutes I had a large portion in front of me. Looked good too, caramelized and nicely presented. After the first bite, however, the joy was gone. Lukewarm and neither fluffy nor loose. I assume it has been kept warm for a long time. The service person didn't say anything about my complaint, really didn't say anything, just looked at me. I've actually never experienced such behavior before... What a shame

Totally disappointing Kaiserschmarrn “homemade” is NOT “freshly made” I can't understand the other reviews. To me it seems like he's warmed up and to me he's really BAD. At first glance it looks good, but what I was served has absolutely NOTHING to do with a fluffy, delicious Kaiserschmarn. Warmed up caramelized mushy pancake would probably be more appropriate. Complaints are reflected in the service.

On a sunny Friday afternoon, after a short walk through the snow along the Moor hiking circuit (approx. 25 minutes), we stopped for a beer in the outdoor area. Rustic and cozy directly opposite the ski lifts. Drank Allgäuer Büble beer and found it to be good 😋👍

Food was okay... service was okay.

Food quality and selection is standard. Portion size for this price level is on the lower level. Only one service was too few when the restaurant was almost full and therefore understandably short. Drink prices very high.
