Schnitzelalm in Bad Hindelang

Went to the Schnitzelalm for the second time today. The first time everything was great. Unfortunately this time we waited over an hour for the food (it was good again) Tafelspitz was very good. Unfortunately we were very cold. Very friendly service

We had the world's best cheese spaetzle and the “spicy” schnitzel. Add a local beer and all is right with the world. Be sure to take a look here! The service is also extremely friendly and fun. We were here in the afternoon, but a reservation is recommended in the evening.

There is an additional star for the price and the service. But the taste is underground... I had the Jägerschnitzel and the mushroom sauce was a very cheap ready-made sauce. I don't have to go out to eat...

Always a nice welcome. Even if we didn't make a reservation, the staff always tried very hard to ensure that we got a seat and didn't have to leave hungry 😊 The service is really top!!! The ambience is always nice to look at and furnished with love. The food is good and there is really something for everyone. We always enjoy coming here and recommend it to others. Reservations are an advantage and make the innkeeper’s job easier…..not like us, just show up and hope. 😬

Everything is very old-fashioned and run down... I have never eaten such a disgusting cordon bleu. There was nothing about mustard on the menu. The entire schnitzel was filled with tons of mustard... inedible :/

I have always been satisfied and enjoyed going there. However, the statement that there is warm food until 9 p.m. should be updated or reconsidered. We were put off with the message shortly before 8 p.m. that we should make a reservation next time, then 8 p.m. would still be possible. Well, we didn't find it so pleasant on the journey home.

Everything was very good, except for the top bar on the entrance door. From 1.85m tall it could be dangerous ;-) .

Yesterday we were lured by the title Schnitzelalm and drove there for about 45 minutes. Unfortunately, time was wasted. Our side dishes were swapped, which can happen...even when there are 3 tables occupied. The waiter had no motivation at all. Unfortunately, the food itself was disappointing. Schnitzel completely soggy in the sauce, the waitress replied "then you have to order the sauce separately". In my opinion, the service must point this out in advance and ask if it is unknown. Food is no longer average. The ambience inside was great but that was it. I can't recommend it and won't come again.

Super tasty, price performance perfect

This is the third time I've been here. The food is good, the portions are large and the price is quite reasonable for the portions. There are a wide variety of schnitzels. I've never sat inside as I've only ever been there when the weather is nice. Then you sit on the terrace behind the house under the sunshade with a view of the mountain and the hotel's own parking lot. The Schnitzelalm is often visited by motorcyclists, as the road to Oberjoch is a beautiful highlight. Unsuitable for wheelchair users as there are a few steps leading from the car park to the terrace and the toilet is in the basement. At least as far as I could see it. On the day of my visit to the restaurant there was live music from the Kempten reggea dialect band Losamol. The lead singer Martin spread a great atmosphere with his funny lyrics. The 4-year-old Luis, who knows how to write, is also unique on the microphone. The visit will definitely be remembered.

Service and staff great! I would say the waiting time is short. The schnitzels are delicious and huge. The atmosphere is very cool. Some live music. Would also recommend the American Style Burger.

I had schnitzel Viennese style. In my opinion, a schnitzel is seasoned with salt and pepper and breaded. Here, however, the breading was strangely orange and tasted a bit bitter - probably a lot of paprika. It was very heavy in the stomach. Too bad.

Nice restaurant with nice service. Table was booked for 7:30 p.m. for 6 people. After a short wait we were shown to the table. The drink order was taken and it came quite quickly. Unfortunately we had to wait almost an hour for the food. My Viennese style schnitzel was ok, but personally the curry seasoning bothers me. Breading was ok. Large selection of different schnitzel variations, portions very large and good. Extra cranberries were charged at €2.50, which I found a bit too much given the generally high prices. As guests, we didn't feel particularly welcome, but that could also have been due to the group beforehand. Good beer 😉.

Inexpensive and excellent quality

We had already been here 2 years ago and we liked it so we came here again. And luckily it was still very tasty. Fortunately, they still had the cherry nectar on the menu, which is very tasty (a pity that this is so difficult to get in the Netherlands, but we did bring a few bottles of Lindauer cherry nectar from a supermarket in the area) Wienerschnitzel (schwein) was excellent, jägerschnitzel was slightly different in taste than 2 years ago, but still delicious. We added a beilagensalat and pffffff...that alone was almost a meal! Fries were excellent and we could add mayonnaise and ketchup as desired from the bottles we received. Kaiserschmarrn was also tasty and more than sufficient for a meal. In short, this location is highly recommended. The road towards the east is also something special ;)

This location, this rustic ambience with lots of wood - what could you do with it!? Full of hope, we went to the Schnitzelalm after a long mountain tour to give the day a worthy end - and were simply disappointed. The rather tasteless Cordon Bleu was accompanied by constant boom-boom-ballermann hits and videos of the Audi crew on some racing course. It really has little to do with “Alm”. The question of whether it was tasty was immediately answered by looking at the empty plates (we were hungry!) and saying “yes, obviously”. Of course that's how it works... Too bad. Given the name, I would have liked something more authentic in a mountain village.

We went to the Schnitzelalm because the reviews were better than a few years ago. I had the Cordon Bleu which tasted good. For me it doesn't include law, but that's Bavaria and I accept it. My wife had the Viennese veal schnitzel, which was unfortunately a bit sticky and dripping with oil/butter. What was unusual for me was that the schnitzel wasn't just seasoned with salt and pepper. But here too I owe it to Bayern. In the Ruhr area you use salt and pepper and it tastes good. Service was very friendly and attentive. Salt bowl a bit overpriced, but ok...

On one side there was some indefinable curry spice under the breading. For me it doesn't belong on a Wiener Schnitzel. The cream sauce came in a separate bowl. What is good. However, the sauce was disgusting and inedible. Unfortunately I had to throw it away Looked greyish/brown and quite watery. In my opinion, a cream sauce is light and creamy. Large portion, manageable and scarce for good eaters who come from hiking.

The restaurant has a really great atmosphere. You really feel like you're in a hut on the mountain pasture. You should definitely reserve places. The restaurant is very well attended by many locals and that speaks for itself! The waitress always has a funny saying in store. The service served us quickly. The restaurant was fully booked that evening so we had to wait a little longer for the food, but the wait was excused by the food. The food was simply delicious and everyone enjoyed it. Look at the pictures and go to this restaurant. Highly Recommended!!!

It's loud and fun here! If you want to watch your sport while you eat, this is the place for you. Families will also feel at home here. Even if you haven't made a reservation, there's usually still a spot available at the counter and you'll have someone to talk to right away. A downer for me, the flexi-vegetarian: there were no root vegetables with the boiled beef! Man, that's part of it, just like the horseradish! So: Not for vegetable fans. You won't find that here - that's what the giant schnitzel is for and the curry sausage also seemed enormous to me. There is something for everyone in Hindelang!

Nice beer garden, fast service, but the schnitzels weren't to our taste. They looked pretty decent, but they were simply seasoned with way too much curry. In my opinion, a schnitzel doesn't have any curry at all. Apparently the waitress didn't care that almost a whole schnitzel wasn't touched. It was cleared without comment and no questions asked.

Für eine Lokalität die mit "Schnitzeln" wirbt, hätte ich Besseres erwartet. Die Menge war mehr als ausreichend und an den Beilagen gab es eigentlich nichts auszusetzen. Nur der Hauptdarsteller "Das Schnitzel" könnte besser sein (das Fleisch zarter und die Panade knusprig). Schade eigentlich!

Unfortunately we didn't get to eat at all. Despite the half-empty terrace on a weekday lunchtime, we had to sit down at a table that was already occupied. The loud cell phone music at the table spoiled our appetite. We left immediately. Not for a quiet lunch. A pity.

Delicious schnitzels. Available in thirty different variations with a choice of different types of meat, from small to large, up to two meters. The car could be parked behind the restaurant and then taken a seat on the outdoor terrace. Helped quickly by a friendly older lady and after ordering and receiving something to drink, the choice could be made immediately. We all opted for a different variant of schnitzel which was served quickly despite the crowds, we all enjoyed it very well. And after another cup of coffee and a single beer, our journey continues along the Jochpasses, a beautiful winding mountain road with a beautiful viewpoint at 1139 meters. The restaurant is located at the foot of the mountain road. Highly recommended to stop in the area for something to eat or drink.

The visit to the Schnitzelalm was really great! I would actually like to give it more than just five stars if that were possible. The restaurant is located in the middle of a beautiful mountain landscape. Pure nature! The view is awesome. You can sit inside or outside when the weather is nice. Children and adults are equally welcome. Although I'm not the biggest schnitzel fan, I ate the best schnitzel here that I've ever tasted. Mexico! Breaded with onions and two homemade dips! Definitely try it! There is a very, very large number of different schnitzels from turkey, pork and even deer. You can choose between several side dishes, including fries, fried potatoes, spaetzle, potato wedges, grill, vegetables... The service is very friendly and attentive. The ambience of the restaurant is unique. Very cozy! The interior is really reminiscent of an alpine pasture. The exhibits from the racing team are beautiful. In the entrance area you can admire trophies and photos, and in the restaurant there is a television that repeatedly shows beautiful racing pictures. A paradise for schnitzels, friends, friends, good food and people who love racing. This is truly a unique combination. Now I just have to talk about the schnitzel again. It was paper thin, buttery, tender and very, very pleasantly breaded. The breading was very light and fluffy. The side dishes were on point. All dressings were homemade. Definitely nothing came out of the bag! But you could also have had ketchup or mayonnaise at no extra charge. The drinks were pleasantly cool. Oh yes: there is also dessert, small Berliners, apple fritters and Kaiserschmarrn! I definitely have to try this next time. It's also nice that you get all the dishes in different portion sizes. So everyone can choose according to their hunger. A wonderful overall package that guarantees a very, very nice experience!
