Wenzel Dresden-Königstraße in Dresden

Bei 30 feien Plätzen wurden wir zu viert abgelehnt. Unmöglich der Laden. Für ein kurzes Bier gab es anscheinend keinen Platz für uns. Frechheit bei halb leerem Laden.

Two times the most rude and unnecessary comments from the staff, first the guy behind the bar making bad jokes to my wife and second, when I ordered a burger I asked (in my relatively decent German) 'does it come with cheese ?' I got a 'WAS !?' From the waiter - drank the beer, cancelled the food and left

Not a very friendly greeting and when ordering the waiter was incredibly rude. Instead of “excuse me?” when you don’t understand. to ask, just a repeated "what?", "what?" Impossible. We canceled the food order straight away, just drank the beer and left.

We enjoyed the food. But the service is subpar. You had the feeling of being invisible. The drink order on The beginning came relatively quickly. But then it was time to wait. The waitress responsible for our table simply looked past us. If we spoke to other waiters, we were told that our waitress was coming. Having to wait almost half an hour for each of these is actually behavior that is damaging to business. And that several times. Given the waiting times, you can safely go to the Czech Republic.

We were here on a Monday at 6:30 p.m. with our 3-year-old daughter, had reserved online and also stated that we had a small child with us. Why you don't bring the children's menu immediately (but only after being asked) is a mystery. We were also not informed that there was also a games room, where there was also a free table for 3 people and lots of high chairs. Unfortunately, a lot of the toys were broken. Guys, so many families in Dresden are looking for places to go out with a playroom, especially after the Mutzelhaus has closed. It would have such a positive impact and word would get around if you invested something in it. I'm curious to see whether there will be a play area at the new location. The food was mediocre. Nobody will be satisfied with the “cup” of goulash soup for just under €9. Unfortunately it wasn't a hit in terms of taste either. The baked cheese my husband had was also expandable and he said potatoes wouldn't go well with it. The flatbread that our daughter had as a children's meal was delicious. Unfortunately, as a mom you always have the embarrassment of having to eat the leftovers. The service was otherwise quick, but they should and could have taken better care of our situation as a family.

Really super tasty. We like to go here because it is very nice and the price is absolutely right. Unfortunately it moves at the end of October and there is only one place left in the city which is always relatively full.

El peor servicio que he experimentado. El personal debe haber tenido algún tipo de competencia sobre ser de lo más grosero y antipático con los huéspedes (supongo que nuestra camarera principal fue la ganadora de la noche). Recomendaría encarecidamente evitar este lugar a menos que prefiera personas no sonrientes, negativas y gruñones sin idea de lo que significa el servicio. Y por cierto, la comida tampoco era buena.

Food and ambience really great. Unfortunately, we had the feeling far too often that we were forgotten by the otherwise friendly staff. And unfortunately it's really not possible to wait over half an hour for the bill.

What a beautiful setting for dinner - A glass atrium between two buildings. Our food was fantastic but our waiter was very very busy and it was hard to get his attention. We ordered plum liquor to end our meal and it never arrived. We found another waiter and ordered it and were charged twice so we had to be reimbursed. Other than that small hiccup the food and setting are excellent!

We were at Wenzel on Königsstraße on September 28th, 2024. Even though we didn't reserve, we got four seats. The food, which we didn't wait long for, was very tasty. Also the ambience and the service. I like to give 5 stars

Easily got a table for lunch on a weekday. It’s a nice spot to stop after exploring this side of the city. Recommend trying Czech dishes like the “pizza” and potato pancakes. The homemade lemonade was also yummy.

Königstrasse is actually such a beautiful spot. But unfortunately the Wenzel is not nice there. It is designed like a hall in which it is always extremely loud and unpleasant. The outside terrace is very nice, as are the small rooms next to the hall. But in itself it is very old-fashioned and uncomfortable. The service wasn't really pleasant for the third time now. The staff seems annoyed and overworked, is not very friendly and tries to process people quickly. You don't feel like you're really welcome or heard. The food came quite quickly and tasted quite good. Unfortunately, the potatoes were not fully cooked and looked like ready-made potatoes from the metro. Otherwise the cream-roasted beef was delicious. I would rather recommend the Wenzel am Postplatz, as we were always greeted and served in a much nicer and more relaxed manner there. Everything is mostly reserved there, which I think says it all.

Menüs waren okay, wenn manns deftig mag. Die Bedienung verstand kaum Deutsch, war aber freundlich. Aber die Musikauswahl war unterirdisch (50er Jahre oder Karl Gott!!). Geht gar nicht, sorry!

We got there a few minutes before the reservation and sat outside as there were a few tables available. Reservations online are very quick and easy. Staying with you was a dream. Good and friendly service, a beer, nice and cold, which you can't get everywhere and excellent food. My wife is Czech. Since her mother's death, the pleasure of eating Svickova has become very rare. My wife's duck leg was also great. Thank you for that.

Sometimes you just have to put a knuckle on the table. Good quality, the dumplings a bit dry, the sauerkraut and sauce were well seasoned. There is nothing for free. The Czech beer is simply great.

Be sure to ask for the invoice. Apparently I had a number transposer. 69 became 96. I asked again before I gave the tip. And everyone at the table heard it too. “Yes, exactly,” said the waiter. So €100 rounded up. Waiter then quickly crumbled. When we asked for the bill, things got wild and the employee made excuses and insulted us. I therefore assume he has every intention. I then discuss the money that was paid too much get again. Never again.

Rustic Bohemian beer hall with very good cuisine. We enjoyed the very fine Wienerschnitzel. You can also sit outside in summer. Also suitable for large groups. In terms of price, it's on the higher end.

After we finally made it to the premises on Königstrasse, we were able to enjoy the large yet cozy location once again. The service is on the move quickly, so you didn't have to wait long or be forgotten. The food was also delicious!

Nice, quick service with a very appetizing selection on the menu, which also tasted very good! The Czech beer in several types and versions made up for the arduous journey to Dresden!

Today we stopped at Wenzel's. The furnishings are rustic but the wooden chairs in the next room are a bit hard without cushions. The food and drinks were served quickly and tasted great. We had beef roulade and beef goulash. The house-made lemonade also tasted good. I can happily recommend the location.

**Review for Wenzel Dresden-Königstrasse** I would like to share my experiences at Wenzel Dresden-Königstrasse, where I had dinner without a reservation on Friday, August 2nd, 2024, with two other people and a small dog. First of all, I would like to positively emphasize that despite not having a reservation, we got a quiet place for three people and our dog. This was a very enjoyable and welcoming aspect of our visit. Unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired. The waitress didn't have time to stay at the table for even a minute longer. When we hadn't yet decided which beer we wanted to drink, the waitress simply said: "Look, I'll come back again." Something like this is absolutely unacceptable. A little more patience and customer focus would be desirable. It would be helpful if staff could receive a little sales training to help them proactively respond to guests' needs and tastes and make recommendations accordingly. We also registered for the customer card on site. When I sign up for a loyalty card, I expect to be able to use it immediately and not after 3-4 weeks. By then I may have forgotten that I have this card or may no longer want to visit the restaurant at all. Overall, our visit had light and shadow. The friendly placement despite spontaneously arriving with a dog was very positive, but the poor service and the inconvenient handling of the customer card significantly spoiled the overall impression. **Overall rating: 3 out of 5 stars**

Food and drink selection very good. Service is good and everything tastes great. Prices are of course not exactly cheap (quite understandable in this day and age and given the location). The ambience is nice (sometimes rustic and sometimes decorated with a lot of humor), but you should note that it can be very loud at peak times. Of course, this depends on the layout of the rooms and also depending on which/how many other guests are there, but you should keep this in mind depending on the occasion. We were there for a business lunch, so the restaurant makes a good impression for non-residents. I wouldn't fully recommend it for a cozy family meal or a date, as I miss the peace and quiet here (but that certainly depends on which corner/room you're sitting in).

Reservation of our table was uncomplicated and we quickly received a reservation confirmation. When we arrived we were warmly greeted, able to choose a table and throughout the evening we received very friendly advice and service. The main course and dessert were delivered quickly and three out of four main courses ordered deserve 5 stars. We give one dish (Kassler) four stars. A chef can hardly influence the quality of the meat. It should also be noted: A Bohemian knuckle is not a Bavarian knuckle with a crispy rind. It was very Bohemian delicious. The dumplings had a Bohemian character, you would. This is also what is served in Prague or elsewhere. Many thanks to the team for a successful evening!

Good local food, large choice of beer. Nice inside and outside

The reservation for 9 people worked very well, even with the desire to sit near the children's playroom. The service was visibly overwhelmed due to a concert in the evening and the many guests. Since we had time, it wasn't really a problem for us. But the waiter's friendliness was clearly lacking. Requests were laughed at sloppily (e.g. a straw for the child in the drink) and if you didn't "cooperate" quickly at the table and pass the drink on (to a person across the table), then your eyes were rolled. The starters came directly with the main course, which we found very unfortunate. We would have liked to have enjoyed the starters beforehand. The starter platter is really tasty and more than recommended. The children's meal came to the table last. The different types of beer are great and we were able to taste a lot. The food tastes very tasty and is a pleasure. Big compliments to the kitchen! We would like to come back, but we hope that the service will be more pleasant. Everyone understands the large number of guests (that you have stress and are "annoyed" as a waiter), but you don't have to endure that as a guest.

Delicious Bohemian cuisine. I chose the classic from Bohemia. The food came super quickly, was very tasty and was really filling. The service was also nice and attentive.

We were on Sunday there with my colleague group, without reservation. The young waiter (czech one?) offered us a table outside, although another employer was not offen for that. Obviously, there was a quiet bit to do, but we got our table, nobody had complained about a longer waiting time. We really enjoyed a stay and felt us welcome. I appreciate good english skills of that czech guy. We just feel sorry that we didn't know the tip is not included.. For sure, next time we gonna make a reservation. One of the most horrible waiters i've ever met in my whole life! Its almost funny how grumpy the big guy with beard was today. Every question was to much for him. No smiling, shaking his head, just no respect for his customers. No tip for this grumpy cat. Food was good but i will never go back again.

Nice location. Good food, fast service. Try the meatless burger with cheese, plus the dumpling fries, something really different. We would be happy to come back.

Incredible! Recently, at the annual meeting in "Wenzel", the waiter gave us the measuring device that we had forgotten to take with us two years ago. In words: two years ago! "That was from them, wasn't it?" said the service man. Isn't that a service? Especially since the measuring device can be used by everyone.

We have been guests many times and really appreciate the location, especially the very large play area for the little ones. The food tastes good and is completely reasonable in terms of price-performance ratio. Unfortunately, none of this helps when the waiter is so unfriendly and you feel like you have to apologize for every order. You will not be greeted with a smile but rather with a dismissive look. A pity! We know that there are other waiters there, but of course you can't choose which one serves you. Unfortunately, due to several bad experiences with a waiter, we will not be returning there in the future. As the manager of the location, you should perhaps make it clear to the staff who have customer contact in the future what facial expressions and gestures can mean. Kind regards

Sehr freundliche und nette Bedienung. Die Bestellung erhielten wir zügig, Leider stimmte aus unserer Sicht das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis überhaupt nicht. Wir waren wiederholt vor Ort und mussten im Vergleich feststellen, dass es deutlich nachgelassen hat. Schade. Wir fühlten uns bisher immer sehr wohl.

It was comfortable to sit outside. Service very nice. Food was good, but nothing out of the ordinary. I found the portion to be very small for the price. Beer was delicious.

Unfortunately, on the first evening we had to wait 10 minutes until we were served. The food and beer made up for the wait. The next day we waited again, but this time no one came. Despite guests outside, when we asked we were told that there would be no service outside today. Perhaps it should be marked more clearly. Unfortunately we had to leave again.

It was delicious, but I've never seen such light veal in a Wiener schnitzel...

Wir waren in Familie mit 7 Leuten hier zum Mittag essen. Es ist für jeden etwas dabei von vegetagrisch über Fleisch bis Fisch. Alle gericht waren sehr gut. Wir hatten den typischne Original Wenzel Burger Roulade und Lachsfilet. Die getränkeauswahl ist auch sehr reichlich. Wir wurden sogar getrennt von all dem Trubel platziert, was uns sehr gefiel. Allem im allem sehr ein schöner Aufenthalt. Gerne wieder.

The burgers were super tasty. I risked ordering the dumpling fries and it was very worth it. With tartar sauce. And even though I was pretty hungry, one burger was absolutely enough for me. Wouldn't order an appetizer beforehand. If you're hungry, it's better to have dessert.

The Wenzel looks very inviting when you walk past as well as when you enter and creates a cozy atmosphere. It is very large and has indoor and outdoor space. The menu is varied and impresses with Bohemian-Czech dishes. There are also the usual burgers and side dishes. The beer menu is more exotic, although in my opinion Czech beer doesn't beat German! The service was friendly, one star deducted only because two different waiters served us throughout the evening and we repeatedly had to put off the other one when we had already ordered from the other. I can recommend Kasseler to a certain extent, as the taste was okay, but unfortunately it didn't melt in the mouth as smoothly as I'm used to from other places. The gravy was nothing special, but the dumplings were very good. The garlic bread starter was also intense and delicious. In terms of price, I think the Wenzel is a little higher. I enjoyed trying the restaurant, but I'm not sure if I would necessarily recommend it.

I have rarely eaten such delicious goulash... it was excellent! Toilets very clean and high quality... very loud in the guest room... but that's due to the guests... 😉

Great restaurant, just something different.

We had lunch there on a Sunday, it was busy but not overcrowded. We were able to order quickly and the drinks came quickly, then we waited 1 1/2 hours, then a waiter came to us and said that our order had been lost in the kitchen and was only being prepared now. As compensation we were offered to take the first round of drinks on the house, so far so mediocre. The food finally arrived three quarters of an hour later, the table next to us arrived in the time we were waiting, ate and left. When it came time to pay, we had to point out three times that we wanted to pay and then waited another 30 minutes. Only to then argue with the waitress who didn't believe us that the landlord wanted to take the round of drinks on the house. Is there no agreement here? The food itself was really good, I had a whole knuckle with dumplings and a garlic soup as a starter. However, even the best food cannot make up for such service. I would have liked to leave a good review but I was very disappointed.

The food didn't taste good. I ordered cheese spaetzle, it was too dry and the portion was very large. My husband ordered beef roulade, it didn't taste fresh and potatoes were raw. I can't recommend.

The ambience is neat and fine. The food is average at best and not lavish either. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is not right here. The hamburger + some fries for 18 euros is definitely not worth the money.

Delicious knuckle, prompt and friendly service

We made reservations in good time for three people with a dog. When we arrived we were offered a high table between all the tables. No regrets that our wish wasn't fulfilled and a succinct sentence: that's just the way it is! There was also a derogatory look from a waiter because we didn't want the table. Well then I'd rather take my money somewhere else!

Update from May 14, 2024: my experience with asparagus: is not recommended, woody and hard. On a Thursday at 4:30 p.m. you get good food, for example we ate a delicious roulade with red cabbage and potatoes. Pleasant atmosphere, nice service. We'd love to come back. Update: last week we were there again, everything was good, the dessert wasn't great, but we came up with something different. Great goodwill!

The service, food and the ambience of the restaurant were very good. Contrary to my expectations, the vegan burger was also amazing, I was very happy that Wenzel offered a delicious alternative.

Wir, als Dresdner, wollten hier als Paar zum Abendessen. Da schönes Wetter war setzten wir uns in den Biergarten an der Königstraße. Die erste Getränkebestellung und das servieren dieser ging recht flott. Nachdem wir unsere Getränke konsumiert hatten und etwa 20 Minuten in leere Gläser schauten fand uns ein Kellner und fragte uns, ob wir noch etwas Trinken möchten. Dies lehnte ich ab und teilte Ihm mit, das wir eigentlich noch etwas essen wollten, dies aber aufgrund der Langen Wartezeit nun nicht mehr vorhaben. Nach einem Schulterzucken fragte ich nach der Rechnung und beglich dies Zahlgenau. Fazit, welches wir sehr gern streuen-- Nie wieder..

Highly Recommended! The portions are decent, very good value for money. Deliciously prepared and filling. There are several "branches". The one near the Japanese Palace is recommended because of the pretty atrium. Also suitable for vegetarians.
