Wen Cheng 2 in Berlin

Its true, I had to laugh; because the too oily noodles are impossible to catch with chopsticks. My dish (with the smallest amout of spiciness - cheng weng beef) was still a bit "hot" for me, but that was ok. Service is friendly and quick with delivering all orders. I would still give Wen Cheng a visit once in a while and recommend it

After I visited Wen Cheng in Friedrichshain and was quite disappointed with the quality of the noodles (they were way too thick and partly raw inside), the noodles here were better. Still, for the price, I expect the noodles to be really "masterfully" cooked. They are not. They stick together, are not really consistent in shape and look like they were made by a trainee. When you look into the kitchen it becomes clear that there is no pasta master here. In short, the noodles are just not good. But what's good is the sauce, it tastes really great. However, there simply has to be more for the price. In the end it's more like a food stall here. Everything happens quickly, everything is impersonal, but the taste is right.

I enjoyed coming here to eat, I enjoyed everything, even though the service wasn't particularly attentive or friendly, but last Sunday my food was extremely salty, I mentioned it and the waiter didn't care. Didn't bring me any new food... Although I didn't eat it because it was really extremely salsa, I would have to pay for it..../ :/ I'm very disappointed.

The Biang Biang noodles taste very tasty and spicy. Unfortunately, even "WTFSpicy" isn't really spicy for me. In terms of taste, the chili oil is first-class and I would also like to use it at home for my home-made noodles. Will definitely come back and recommend visiting Wen Cheng.

This place is awesome - they have a simple bit delicious menu and fast service once you get through the long (but worth it line). I come back to one of the locations every time I visit Berlin.

Extremely overhyped, ridiculously expensive and the food is absolutely awful. I really don’t understand how people could wait outside for hours only to get inside and sit so close to someone you could barely open your elbows to eat a bowl of noodles no different that the 25 cent ramen noodles pack… I got a quarter of a mushroom and 4 cubes of tofu with what I could count was around 7 noodles swimming in oil… The food is so oily and bad it’s disgusting. The service is amazing though I have to be honest that gets 5 stars but everything else gets 1 star for sure.

Very spicy yet super delicious food :))

The noodles and chicken bun bao are delicious but what will keep me coming back for laps is the service. My first visit, the server - Aussie? - wowed me by a generous serving of tap water. My most recent visit we showed up with four kita kids and he didn't bat an eye. He gave us the most entertaining spot in the house where the kids can watch the cooks. The servers were also very kind when we inevitably broke a glass. The "kids' noodles" was a crowd pleaser for the butter noodle types. The bao without the spicy aioli and beef noodles without the chili was great for "adventurous" kid eaters. The food was out super fast. Weekend lunch or right when they open on weekdays are no wait. Don't miss the eggplant add-on. It will change your life. There are few places in Berlin where one can show up with a gaggle of kids and be genuinely welcome. Thank you for making our Sunday afternoon meal so pleasant and delicious.

Super tasty Chinese noodle dishes, which can also be served EXTREMELY spicy upon request. The Bao Chicken Buns and the cucumber salad are also highly recommended. You often have to wait a bit, but you will be rewarded with great food.

I used to go to the original and was blown away by the rich broth and those chewy fresh hand pulled noodles. Once they expanded the quality suffered a bit (my broth had too much miso) but it is still very good. Can’t go wrong with fresh noodles.

Wasn't what I expected. It's actually just goulash with thick noodles, a few pickles and coriander sprinkled on top. Disappointing Price/performance ratio doesn't fit at all. Ambience isn't that great either. Neither does service. It's very reminiscent of a canteen.

Pasta is DELICIOUS! It melts in your mouth. This dish is quite fatty and spicy, so I recommend taking something to drink and not exaggerating the spiciness. We took the smallest step and it was still biting :) nice place, we will definitely come back

Culinary taste explosion. You don't necessarily go dancing afterwards, but you definitely go to bed full.

If you've endured waiting so long to finally get a table, then the fantastic food is worth it. The two versions of the main courses are very tasty and the spicy version is particularly recommended.

Ordered the cucumber salad & tofu bao to take away. Food was tasty, especially the cucumber dressing. Nice, friendly staff and affordable prices.

The meat is really soft and the noodles are springy and delicious. The service was good, and the table guidance and waiting system seemed to proceed quickly. It doesn't taste as great as I expected, so I take away one star.

Very tasty dinner! We have ordered wen cheng Beef spicy and wen cheng lamb asian spicy. For us the lamb tastes better than the beef, and the Asian spicy is too spicy, just spicy is the best. Update 10.11.2024: still our fav noodle, Asian spicy is still super spicy, even they have one more level wtf spicy. I will stick to just spicy. Lamb is only available at dinner.

I really enjoyed the food, service and ambiance of the place

Pretty hyped and rightly so. Went there just before 5 p.m. the day before yesterday and there was already a line in front of the door. Entrance and immediately full. Very tasty broth and tastefully prepared. The meat is ultra tender. Very very good. At times I found the noodles too thick and too sticky, which didn't detract from the taste, but to the touch it didn't always appear fine and subtle in the mouth, but rather very solid. Delicious. Nice service.

Now this is what I call good spice level. The noodles were amazing and the beef was so tender. And the chicken burger was also delicious. Everything they serve is really good and has proper level of Asian spice. There’s a bit of waiting to get in and also the restaurant feels a little crowded but that is supposed to be a good thing, I guess. I’ll definitely be paying more visits.

The Biang Biang noodles with eggplant were really tasty! I can highly recommend it. It was very busy, but service was still super nice and quick. Tip: they take a lunch break, so plan before your visit.

A sledgehammer to the face of flavour.

There was a queue when we went, but it was moving fast. We ate biang biang with meat, we loved it, in one word, it was great, the meat was very good, the noodles were different and nice, the sauce was great, the employees were very attentive, we will definitely come again. 💜💜💜

Highly popular and considered as one of the best noodles places in the city. While they are really good, I found the beef to be pretty average, even if noodles and the flavors were excellent. So definitely worth a visit but not the entirety of the hype.

It's a very good restaurant. The food is excellent. After waiting around fifty minutes, we were quickly seated and served. There is not much choice on the menu but the dishes are complete and tasty. Possibility of eating with chopsticks or services. The view of the kitchen is interesting, you can see the cooks getting to work. Prices are normal. The wait is worth it!

Pretty overrated I'd say. The noodles are thick and glutinous, leaving you feeling bloated. Sauces are quite tasty, but it's really all heavy noodles.

The place is small, and there might be a line if you want to eat in, but it’s totally worth the wait! The food is fantastic, especially the biang biang noodles. They’re perfectly chewy, saucy, and have just the right amount of spice. If you love spicy food like I do, I recommend going for the 2 chilis option. Highly recommend!

Don’t really understand the hype… Bao was better than the actual noddles. Something is missing flavor wise and the waiter let us not order for +20 mins.

It was 3 degrees outside and the white staff insisted we waited outside, instead letting the white group in front of us waiting inside. It’s comical a Chinese restaurant is racist against Asian customers. Come for the food, don’t expect much for the service.

First of all, this is a Chinese restaurant. The portions are huge. If you go to try it, definitely order one. The spice density is very high, it is generally nice, but the price for this service is very expensive.

They were the best noodles I’ve EVER eaten! The wait was like 45 mins but I could’ve waited 2 hours for this. Awesome!!!!!!

So worth the hype!! Best noodles ever. Savoury, garlicy and spicy. Despite it being busy, you’re served straight away and the food doesn’t take very long to come out. My partner and I got the smashed cucumber salad, Sichuan chicken bao’s and biang biang noodles (one of them was vegan). I found it all to be full of flavour and fresh. I tried the “Asian” spicy level, and it had me sniffling, so it’s not for the weak. Noodles are a little bit pricey, but the portion size will fill you up. Relaxed atmosphere. Give it a try!

I loved it! But you must arrive early, they open at 5pm and minutes before there are people waiting to enter. Everything is delicious and the service is very friendly and they also speak English. We ordered the main dish with beef but they also have vegan options and other types of meat. I recommend ordering the spicy options, they are worth it. The noodles are handmade.

Terrible place. We ordered 2 dishes, one was supposed to be super spicy and the other one was supposed to be not spicy. Of course we got two super spicy dishes. Given the high prices they should at least pay a minimum of attention on their customer's orders. Horrible experience, worst place ever, totally not recommended. Won't order again. (Yes I'm hangry!)

Food used to be much better here :( On my last visits, the quality deteriorated a lot. The noodles were overcooked, the meat was undercooked (way too tough).

It's a shame that the food is great. But everything else is pure disappointment. I give the food 5 STARS. Unfortunately the service is very unfriendly. The shop seems very cold and is absolutely uncomfortable. I think so that people eat quickly and walk quickly. We didn't get any receipt either. I would be interested in a summary of the cost of what I ate. Next time I will order.

Personally, the noodles were too thick for me and therefore 'heavy'. After a short time it became tiring to eat them with chopsticks, so I used a fork afterwards. The taste was okay, I wouldn't eat it again.

Overhyped, overpriced. The flavor of Biang Biang Beef was off and the portion size does not justify the price. The quality has diminished over the years, unfortunately. There are other smaller places around Berlin with better noodles and better flavors.

It's a good idea. You should let your master apply explosive anti-reflectors to the tank. Maybe if you are lucky enough to hit the thick one, you won't be able to perform the flying head trick there. The noodles were stretched out so thickly that they looked as if they were not yet familiar with the mud-coded city walls. How much money did Xiaohuangshu spend on promoting it?

WAY WAY WAY over priced! Your getting chinese Nooldes. Of which there are Literally THOUSANDS of there Restaraunts all over berlin. and 90% of these are at least half the price. And the staff, were quite unfriendly.

Noodles are very dense and less chewy than the usual Chinese hand pulled noodles. However, it is still nice and filling. Flavours are great as well! Generous portion of meat too. I prefer the Biangbiang one as it is saltier and spicier than the wen chang one.

I understand why everyone is saying this. It's so attractive in every way. What's going on with the noodles 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 It says spicy, but to the people of Buldakbokkeummyeon, this is spicy? As much as I want it haha, it's still deliciously spicy. Oh, always use meat as the topping. + Additional review after second visit: No. The branch is the truth. Also, I made it with Asian spice and it tasted bitter, but it was so delicious. It's a taste I already miss. I hope it becomes popular in Korea as well.

You guys, be careful. Shin Ramyun was spicy so I made it Asian spicy and now I'm dying. Remember, this is Europe, but this is an Asian restaurant. If your physical condition deteriorates while traveling, you may feel more spicy. Compromise with yourself

One of the few places in Berlin where you can get a serious chilli fix. Their chilli rating system starts at “Spicy” and progresses to “Asian Spicy” and then to “WTF Spicy”. Delicious!

This stood out as the busiest place in the area, and as it turned out, for a good reason. The wen cheng noodles are juicy and so tasety, the beef was superb- full of taste and just melted in the mouth. The dish was spicy, but not too much (you can have it more spicy if you like, I asked for one more level of spiciness and it was perfect). Prices are fair and the place is casual. Service is efficient and friendly. Highly recommend!

Greatest pulled noodles in Berlin!!

Drinks were forgotten, noodles are always very tasty. But there's nothing special about sauce. lamb not juicy; Tastes average, I'll downgrade the food to two stars. The vapors make you thirsty all night long. It wasn't worth it given the taste

There's always a long wait so it's hard to wait, but it's delicious. The amount may seem small, but you will feel full after eating it. I also really like that I can pay at the checkout counter after eating without having to wait.

He was very understanding and I apologized, explaining that I had a problem with my card and could only pay in cash. He then got another colleague to help. But the attitude of this other colleague, a taller man with blonde hair, was terrible. He coldly pointed to the “No Cash Payment” sign as if to accuse me. Is it the policy of this restaurant to blame customers instead of helping them in a friendly manner? Customers are people too and deserve basic respect. Everyone makes mistakes, right? Especially when it's such a small problem. Only gods don't make mistakes. I feel bad for that rude waiter—he doesn't understand the most basic respect between people. No matter how good the food is, because of this unfriendly experience I will not return nor will I recommend it to my friends. To be honest, food is great. Very good hand-pulled noodles that are really nice (as cheesy as is preferred by Asian chefs). The sharpness is really sharp, so be careful what level you want to use 😜 The selection of vegan variants and vegan side dishes is great. I also like card payment only.

Been here twice so far and will definitely be back- great food, great service. Love the spicy vegan biang mian option with aubergine and minced “meat”.

The portions are quite large and satisfying. The staff is attentive and kind. Even though the restaurant was quite busy, our food arrived after a short time. I was surprised at this price. I can call it a price-performance meal. I can't wait to try a different meal next time.

I have often seen queues in front of the restaurant and that made me curious. I went in with high expectations and was unfortunately disappointed. It was ok, but I wouldn't come back.

I had some noodle soup delivered through delivery, and at first it was a bit salty, so I thought... After a few days, I remembered it again and I really wanted chewy noodles and eggplant soaked in sauce, so I ordered it again! It was so spicy that I could drink bitter milk at level 3, and level 2 was just very, very slightly spicy. I wish there was step 2.5.

Delicious food! Very carefully made pasta, perfectly intense flavor. You can melt away. The service and speed of order preparation also deserve additional praise. I definitely recommend it!

This place made me feel young again! The bang bang noodles really pack a punch! My wife Iliana wanted to come here because she’s seen so many of her favorite Instagram influencers frequent this place, I think we even saw one sitting here a few tables away from us! Iliana was too nervous to go and talk to him. I tried to tell her it was fine, he looked nice enough! I even considered going up to him on her behalf when she was using the washroom. But then I remembered that I did something similar a few years ago when we were in Krakow visiting her cousins. We were at an Asian fusion restaurant when she spotted Joanna Krupa. Again, same story, she went to the washroom and I (encouraged by two mediocre martinis) introduced myself and said my wife was a fan. When Iliana came back she was so mortally embarrassed she left the restaurant without my knowledge — and worse yet, because I wanted to introduce her when she came back to the table, I kept trying to keep the conversation going until Joanna got the restaurant manager involved. He escorted me out. So anyway, that’s what I was thinking about sitting at Wen Cheng 2.

This place satisfies that spicy craving - rare to find in Berlin! Noodles have been super consistent. More of a quick bite place.

An incredible find in Mitte. This Chinese restaurant surprised us with its bao sandwich, with soft bread and a delicious filling, and its handmade noodles with spicy beef, which had the perfect balance between flavor and texture. You can notice the quality and freshness of the ingredients in every bite. The atmosphere is modern and cozy, ideal for enjoying an authentic meal in the center of Berlin. The service was fast and friendly. Definitely a place to return to and continue exploring their menu!

idc what anyone else says it’s worth the hype to me. i got the biang biang beef and it was sooo good, very garlicy, just the right amount of spice and the beef was really tender. they have great service and the line moves pretty quickly. def worth a visit

I wanted to come here for a while, but there is always a bit of a waiting time. This time queue was not that long (under 10 minutes) and was finally able to taste these noodles. I had the mushroom tofu Biang Biang, regular spicy and the taste was incredible. Loved the flavour of the marinated tofu and the sauce. Will try more spicy next time.

I liked it and would come back. Things to improve: - very spicy should be more spicy. I ordered extra extra spicy but I didn't find it super numbing and spicy. - beef should be cooked in a more spiced broth. The beef is quite mild and there is a lot of it - more noodles, less beef. The ratio is off. - more consistent noodles. The noodles have been occasionally made too thin and because they cook uneven, they were a bit mushy
