The food was excellent, the service was very friendly and attentive, but the ambience leaves a lot to be desired. A refresh is in order, overall it's not really comfortable and it's a little outdated. (visit 2019)

We had a very nice evening in the winery. The food was exceptionally good. Had a super tasty Wiener schnitzel, exactly as it should be. The onion roast was also highly recommended, particularly well cooked. Also had a vegetarian main course with cauliflower, egg and truffles. This one was particularly delicious. The service was attentive, courteous and very friendly. Ambiance was appealing. The wines on offer were also good, although very expensive. All in all a nice stay

Nous avons passé un très bon moment mon mari et moi. Une ambiance cosy, un serveur à l' écoute, une carte très simple que l' on peut parcourir rapidement, des plats dé-li-cieux... nous avons testé l crème brûlée de fois gras, une très belle découverte. Le plat, des maultaschen, champignons saupoudrés de truffes... Toutes les éléments étaient si bien mélangés que chaque bouchée en appelait une autre... Merci au chef et au serveur pour cette soirée !

Durch Zufall sind wir an diesem Restaurant vorbei gelaufen und haben tatsächlich noch einen Platz auf der Terrasse ergattert. Begeistert hat uns vor allem, dass es Frühstück bis 14:00 Uhr gibt und man dieses im Grünen genießen kann. Die Karte ist ansonsten sehr modern, was man vielleicht auf den ersten Blick der Location nicht erwarten würde. Offenbar ein Geheimtipp in Stuttgart, den noch nicht jeder kennt, aber kennen sollte.

Nach so langer Zeit konnten wir uns nun endlich wieder in einem Restaurant treffen und haben uns dieses hier ausgewählt. Wir Terrasse ist wirklich sehr schön und man sitzt gemütlich mit Blick ins Grüne. Trotz der kleinen Karte ist die Auswahl ausreichend und jeder hat sein passendes Gericht gefunden. Die Teller waren wirklich sehr schön angerichtet. Somit konnte das Auge mit essen. Weine waren lecker und die Gastgeber sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Es ist auf jeden Fall ein Besuch wert sofern man auf der Suche nach einer ruhigen Ecke mit leckerem Essen ist.

Nach Monaten des Lockdowns kamen wir in einer Fünfer Gruppe endlich wieder zusammen und wollten einen schönen Abend verbringen. Für das Essen haben wir uns das Althoff Hotel ausgesucht. Den Aperitif haben wir in der Lounge Ecke auf der Terrasse eingenommen und sind anschließend an den eingedeckten Tisch gewechselt. Die Terrasse liegt mitten im Grünen und ist bei schönem Wetter wirklich sehr zu empfehlen. Die Karte ist klein aber mit ausreichender Auswahl. Die Bruschetta zur Vorspeise waren Klasse und ideal zum Teilen. Danach gab es die Sommer Daie (ähnlich wie Flammkuchen) , Schnitzel und Risotto. Alle Gerichte waren sehr lecker und der passende Wein wurde uns auch empfohlen. Der Service war herzlich und humorvoll und wir haben viel gelacht. Alles in allem ein gelungener Abend. Die neue kreative Ausrichtung hatten wir so von einem eher klassischen Hotel nicht erwartet. Wir kommen wieder! :)

Herausragende Große Gewächse vom Kaiserstuhl, die trotz Coronazeiten professionell und angenehm in einer Verkostung angeboten werden. Der Spontanbesuch war absolut lohnenswert, der Kofferraum und die Teilnehmer wohl gefüllt 😉.

We have called on the restaurant on several occasions. The last time it was not to our liking hence we decided to skip a second visit. The wine (not cheap) arrived for opening and decanting only after the starters had been served. The dishes were mediocre. The excellent fish dish was drowned in a sauce and thus lost all taste. Moreover the choice of dishes has been drastically reduced (might be a result of the Covid situation). Shall maybe give it a chance when it is back to normal.

Reception: pleasant. As I was waiting for my train, I just had a little problem: what dish to order and what regional wine would go with it. The advice was perfect: a dish of Maultaschen with a good Riesling. The setting is also great. Instead of having a dessert I had a digestive (pear brandy) from Baden. To recommend.

We had dinner at the winery with friends using the “Voucher Book Stuttgart”. We wouldn't have been able to find the small location on our own. In the end we were even more impressed. The food was outstandingly good. The card is small, but very, very fine. The wine list (and advice) is wonderful. The service was just great. Subtle, but funny at the right time without ever being inappropriate or intrusive We will definitely come back sometime. A real insider tip.

Innovative, moderne Küche mit traditionellem Einschlag, was ausgezeichnet gelingt. Es wird schön serviert, tolle Weine, guter Service und ein wunderschönes Ambiente. Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt!

Altmodisches Ambiente, Essen okay aber überteuert für die gebotene Qualität. Einen echten Mehrwert hat das Lokal wohl nur für Weinfans, die sich durch die riesige Karte probieren wollen. Service war bei unserem Besuch sehr gut.

We v had our second fantastic meal here tonight. The chicken breast was perfectly cooked and the staff are always very friendly. Advice on suitable wine is freely given in a passionate and knowledgeable fashion. Highly recommended

Sehr gutes Restaurant mit gehobenem Ambiente und preislich auch etwas höher. Sehr gelungene Kreation mit Maultasche auf Rostbraten. Geschmacklich gut. Portionen auch ausreichend. Leider wurde trotz bestem Wetter die Terrasse nicht geöffnet, obwohl wir vorab angefragt hatten.

Sehr gute Küche und sehr freundliches Personal. Interessante Speisekarte und gut sortierte Weinkarte. Preislich gehört die Weinwirtschaft genau wie auch geschmacklich, zum höheren Niveau. Kann ich mit bestem Gewissen jedem Weiterempfehlen. 👍

Essen ist sehr lecker. Bodenständige Küche aber mit Besonderheiten. Ich war von jedem Gericht positiv überrascht. Der Service ist sehr nett, aber jedenfalls bei unserem Besuch etwas unorganisiert.

Very good quality! It's a bit pricy but totally worth every euro. If you are looking for a restaurant with really good expensive wine and delicious food - this is the right place. Staff seem to be very well-trained.

Great wine but the food left a lot to be desired. Mixed starter plate was good. French onion soup was completely uncaramelised and very salty. Bouillabaisse was slightly overcooked prawn and mackrel in what seemed to be a bouillon rather than any sort of bisque. The ravioli were more like sausage rolls with a pasta outside. The wines were great though, resurging the Spätburgundrer which had an earthiness underneath the brooding berries. Lovely service staff.

We went for dinner with a couple of friends after booking on a Friday night. The restaurant was quite empty when we arrived at 21:00 but some people arrived later and the atmosphere improved. The menu is not wide but it has an acceptable selection of local dishes. The wine list is overpriced and with a selection in the medium high price range. We ordered and the food was good, but we definitely pay the wine over the normal price you find in similar restaurants. The service was just OK, but I would expect better considering locatIon (inside a 5 stars hotel) and price range. We had to remind the waitress to bring us the wine when we already had half of our dish and she also forgot the water. The waiter was much better but the two were rushing around even if the restaurant was not full. Probably not enough personnel. Resuming: ok, but considering everything just that, I had expected more.

We went for wine tasting here and lunch. It was a real treat to learn about the local soil and the wines of the region. We tried around 30 wines and came back with some new firm favorites. The place enjoys stunning views of vineyards on hills. Lunch was buffet style as we were in a large group and it was super tasty.

We went on a Friday night, the dining room was mostly full. We had a tarte flambé, some fish and the maltschausen; everything was outstanding. The wine list has more than just Franz Keller wines, it’s really a nice collection and reasonably priced. To go prices on bottles are even better. Highly recommended.

We dined here twice in one week. Fun and delicious, this is a great restaurant for a night out or a long evening enjoying the food and the ambiance.

Die Einrichtung ist schön, die Lage natürlich super 👍. Aber ... man zielt wohl hauptsächlich auf die Hotelgäste und nicht auf die Stuttgarter. Preis-/ Leistung gehoben.

Our first time here and we were impressed with everything, especially with the recommendations of the wines we drank that night. They perfectly accompanied our dinner and dessert latter on. As I'm hardcore wine lover myself, it's always nice to meet people who are passionate about wine.The service was spot on, staff knowledgeable and warm. Wish I had more time to visit again.

Service: speedy and warm. I asked name of a salami because it was very tasty. A service man gave a memo after searching. Drink: tasty and so many choices. Food: we ate salami plate, blood sausage plate, pieces of shoulders, Fish. All perfect!

We experienced a very nice service in combination with excellent food. The waiter from Balingen was very polite, smart never lacked a funny answer. The food was very good traditional German food for reasonable prices. Very recommendable

This wine list is excellent - tasteful, spacious and Lovely decor, excellent staff and delicious food. My schnitzel expert said the veal slice needed to be slightly thicker but excellent and potato cucumber dish was perfect. The local wine we had was decisions, fruity Riesling but not too sweet. Well worth a visit.

Our stay in Stuttgart was short, but unforgettable, mainly due to our meal at Vinothek am Schlossgarten! Don't miss it. The wine list is an amazing showcase of wines from the region and, as a good "vinothek" is organized so you can order and try small portions of the wines. We each had three different wines with our meal. Heaven! The wines were so good that we bought--yes, they'll sell you bottles to go!--two bottles to bring home (wines that you cannot find in the USA). The food was exquisite, and the menu, although small, was varied and offered many tempting choices. We ordered appetizers and wine, and took our time going over the menu. So glad we did. We sat on the balcony overlooking the gardens, which was perfect on a very warm afternoon. The service was impeccable (without fussing); the waiters were friendly, spoke English, and were willing to answer all the questions we had. We felt at ease, comfortable, and welcomed. The atmosphere was elegant (without pomposity). The food: delicious, fresh ingredients, layers of flavor. We loved each one of the dishes ordered (listed below), and wondered about the ones we did not try. If we had not left Stuttgart the next day, we would have returned. I categorized the food as German below, but this is top-notch food, farm to table, that infuses a contemporary fusion flair into some regional dishes. While having the appetizers, I was already in food high heaven. If you are in Stuttgart, run to this restaurant.

The Vinothek is a small restaurant within the Althoff Hotel building with its own character. Staff were friendly and personable, while the extensive wine list and menu were good. Food quality was excellent. We had planned to visit for one night, but enjoyed it so much we returned! Very enjoyable. thank you

Sunday late afternoon lunch. Quiet atmosphere away from the crowds. Paprika Soup was outstanding along with the Sunday special, Spanferkelrollbraten! Excellent flavor.

I invited friends from abroad to this place hoping to eat something delicious. It didnt disappoint. The meat dishes were excellent. The maultaschen were also good. The portion were as expected. The Schweinbällchen tasted great. The mash was too little and made the dish light....

I went with a customer to the Vinothek and the experience was very good. Wood and good atmophere, right table and right seats in order to create the good location Selection of choice of wines from all over the world. Fantastic moment

Stayed in Schlossgarten during a business trip, ordered a gin and tonic in the bar. Barman recommended a new gin from Stuttgart that had only been launched the previous week. Excellent G&T and when I mentioned that I had booked a table in the Vinothek,...

Have been to the Vinothek at least 6 times in the past two years. Food is always very traditional, but excellent German fare, and wines (if you choose the right ones) are excellent as well. During the day a lovely place to have your cake...

One of the cases where I really can't understand where all these positive ratings are coming from. Arriving at the vestibule of the place, the ambience looks very nice with all the wine shelves in the back, but the actual dining room almost looks like...

In summertime you may sit outside with view to the opera and park. Very good food end very, very good cakes! Lying midst in Stuttgart vis à vis the main-station it is a very calm place.

Nice place to have coffee/tea and pastries with friends. They have delicious cakes but their coffee and tea were not very good. Service was slow although there weren't a lot of people in the café.
