Excellent Swabian cuisine! The service was fast and helpful. We had a peaceful dinner in the beautiful center of Stuttgart, right behind the Old Castle. Really delicious suckling pig!

Visited the restaurant spontaneously. After a short time, a very friendly employee assigned us a very nice small table for two people in a window niche. Both of our meals tasted excellent and the wine was very good. The price-performance ratio is convincing and our waitress Carlotta is simply enchanting. It was a successful evening all around. We can only recommend the restaurant.

We managed to get a table for 6 people at short notice on a holiday evening. Even though it was very busy, the staff was super friendly, attentive and quick. The Maultaschen are awesome and the other dishes were also very good.

It wasn't enough for the money (literally and in terms of taste). Beef broth for Maultaschen and Flädlesuppe is very average. Mini, mini portion of saddle of venison for 28 euros with uninspired peppers and meaningless Schupfnudeln.

We were looking for a restaurant with local cuisine for Saturday evening. And came across the Old Chancellery. We didn't have a reservation and luckily got a table. However, you should make a reservation here on weekend evenings or you have to wait for a table. The staff was friendly throughout, even though some guests reacted very rudely because they couldn't get a table. Even if the food is a bit more expensive, it is definitely worth it. The food was very tasty.

We got a wonderful seat by the window, without a reservation! Good selection of food, lots of different dishes. The window seat may not have always been the waiter's focus. But that's the reason for 4 stars, i.e. high level

My mother enjoyed going to the Old Office, and I also enjoy coming here again and again. Here, centrally and in the immediate vicinity of the Old and New Castles, you can eat good Swabian food in an upscale atmosphere, and you will receive attentive and prompt service. The whole thing is not a bargain in terms of price, but it is definitely reasonable. A clear recommendation from me.

There were four of us eating there, everyone had a different starter and a different main course. Every meal was delicious. There was nothing to complain about from the soups, salads, sauerbraten or roast venison. Price-performance is okay. Staff was very friendly. If we're in Stuttgart again, we'll be happy to come by again 👍 I recommend reserving a table, it was very busy even during the week.

Ambiance and service were very good and quick. I haven't eaten anything yet but what I saw was very good and the waiting time was pleasantly short. Of course, this can vary depending on the number of customers.

Had lentils with spaetzle, there is potential for improvement

We went to the “Alte Rechtsanwälte” restaurant spontaneously and without making a reservation in advance. We didn't have to wait and were taken straight to a free table. Since the prices in the old office are a little higher, all of us opted for smaller meals. I had the turkey medallions with mushroom risotto, we also had a portion of cheese spaetzle (with a side salad) and a raviolo filled with porcini mushrooms. We also ordered bread with butter as an addition. The food was served quickly, but something was always missing. First it was the side salad with the spaetzle, then the bread was missing and finally the butter was missing with the bread. Every time we had to ask and the waitress quickly rushed to the kitchen to check on the orders. In general the service staff were nice, but I still didn't really feel like we were welcome here. The turkey medallions with the mushroom risotto were delicious. The portion could have been a little larger for the price, but other than that I can't complain. The cheese spaetzle was good, not too spicy, but not too boring either. Only the ravioli were very boring and bland and couldn't convince. The atmosphere in the restaurant is inviting. Modernly furnished, but still retaining the old charm of the building. All in all, we didn't have the best experience at the Alte Rechtsanwalts restaurant. The prices are high and the portions are kept smaller. Most of the food is really good, but not every dish is recommended. I'm wavering between 3 and 4 stars, but I'll give it 3 stars because given the prices and the reputation the restaurant enjoys, I would expect a little fewer errors in orders. A high chair was brought to us upon request.

Everything we ordered was very good. They had typical Stutgart food.

The Kässpätzle were not good. No homemade spaetzle, just noodles and then with cream!!!! How terrible. At the end they were only lukewarm. Not recommended

Nice location where you can sit inside and outside on Schillerplatz. The service is friendly and courteous.

Superb location: one entrance on the grandiose Schlossplatz, the other on the more intimate Schillerplatz with a wonderful view of the Stiftskirche. Locally brewed Kellerbier. What's not to like? Well, the service, for a start. Only one (overworked and surly) waitress for around 20 outside tables. Another 20 were padlocked up and "unavailable" - even on a perfect autumn evening. Two customers got fed up with the long wait. And we soon followed.

Large, high rooms, you can always find a place here. Good, honest Swabian food. And in the middle of the city with 2 large terraces to the 2 most beautiful squares in the city

Delicious food and extremely quick service.

We were pleasantly surprised. We stopped by for lunch on October 3rd with a group of 10 people and were very enthusiastic about the food. Among other things, the Swabian plate was really delicious. It was also nice to see that two traveling Vogtlanders were allowed to audition and then dine there.

The Old Office has a very pleasant atmosphere. Even when it's very crowded, you can still have a good conversation, it's not that loud. The food is great, and the price is a bit on the higher end, but worth it. The staff is very attentive.

I can't judge food. Was there for a drink. Nice atmosphere. Attentive staff. Clean toilets and even a cell phone charging machine.

Food is way to expensive for that what it actually is. Kartoffelsalat is not selfmade probably bought at Aldi and the portions for that price are ridiculous. Go here when u want to drink a beer don’t eat here.

The food and drinks were delicious, the service was great! The plates were even preheated so that the food stayed warm for a long time. All 9 people at our table received their food at the same time. We were more than satisfied!

One of the two (2) toilet stalls for the entire restaurant is broken. And then as a guest you have to pay. It can hardly be more impertinent.

This place was not on my "want to go" list, but it was a total success. Alte Kanzlei is a German restaurant with touches of haute cuisine, but without breaking the bank. They have two terraces, because the place faces two streets, so you can choose the one that best suits you to enjoy the atmosphere. The service was fast, although at checkout it was the only place in Germany where they asked me if I wanted to leave a tip. And of course, how to refuse after that? I always fall. We were three people and we ordered maultaschen (a pasta filled with broth), kartoffelsalat (potato salad), rostbraten (grilled roast beef) with potatoes and a dish of the day which was pork in a sweet chili sauce with a colorful salad. To drink: a glass of Riesling, a Pilsner beer, a Coca-Cola Zero, and then a cappuccino and a green tea to wash down the meal. Total: €91.80.

There was a piece of plastic from the potato salad bucket in my food (which I didn't even order)... It also had pretty sharp edges. The waiter responded to my comment with "ugh, again". That says a lot. The manager was unimpressed, said "it can happen" and no one apologized. Never again. The food was VERY mediocre. I I definitely wouldn't take the risk of choking on a piece of plastic again.

I guess this is self-service place since nobody is coming to me. But then the prices are insane for this kind of place. Anyway, the service is terrible (basically there is no service)

At the time of our visit to the old office, the wine village (wine festival) was right next door. The restaurant was busy, but the waiting time for food and drinks was ok. The food was very good and the portion was sufficient. The price-performance ratio was reasonable. We sat on comfortable chairs in the beer garden. No wood class

I've been coming to the old office mainly in the summer for years. The outdoor dining is recommended, but for me personally it is too loud inside. The food tastes very good. After shopping at the market, you can relax wonderfully with good wine and delicious food. The service staff is usually very nice and accommodating.

It is well located and the food is correct. The service of the staff could be improved, especially for those of us who do not speak German and have a hard time understanding the menu.

Ordered Aperol Spritz, unfortunately not enough Aperol mixed. Even after a comment to the waitress who took it back and came back with a little more Aperol in it. Still no Aperol spritz! Too bad, if you're out of Aperol, tell me.

The restaurant is very nice with a view of the castle gardens. You can sit well outside. The food was delicious and plentiful. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I can definitely recommend the restaurant.

A good restaurant on the main square of this city, which is not too expensive considering the location, and the food is delicious. I recommend eating on the terrace in the warm part of the year.

Overall: good! However, if you are looking for the _very best_ Swabian home cooking, you will have to go somewhere else. Nevertheless, a recommendable restaurant, the service is extremely friendly, on the ball, very customer-oriented and, above all, handled excellent complaints when I didn't like the Maultaschen. A new, fresh one was immediately brought to me and it tasted significantly different, one was probably somehow stale or had been stored for too long. It shouldn't be, but it does happen. Actually, the Maultaschen are probably made fresh here every day. Potato salad was very good, cheese spaetzle was good, jus and onion melts were also good. The Hofbräu Kellerbier naturally cloudy on tap also tastes good, but in the end it is a Radeberger/Dr. Oetker beer, and for real Swabians, Hofbräu has never been the pinnacle of Swabian beer enjoyment. If you can drink very well, you probably have to serve something between the Old and New Castles (HOFbräu), but there are better options. The location is of course fantastic and it's nice to sit in, so overall recommended!

The waiter who served us for the most part was first class and knew what he was doing. The Maultaschen in the broth and the mixed salad beforehand were good. As a little extra we had the pickled olives and there was nothing wrong with them. The main course included pork fillet with mushroom cream sauce and spaetzle, beef goulash with pasta and cauliflower, lentils with spaetzle and tagliatelle in chanterelle cream. Everything was very tasty and I can only recommend this shop. Sat on the terrace but the interior was even more attractive and certainly worth another visit. It was our first time there but certainly not our last.

Unfortunately the onion roast was a bit tough. The service is attentive and friendly.

Nos decantamos por la ensalada y bowl vegano y vegetariano de la casa: delicioso. Destaco enormemente la calidad de la materia prima y el pan con el que nos sirvieron la comida. Simplemente de 10, también las salsas y aderezos. Disponen de dos agradables terrazas. La higiene es increíble y el servicio… hay de todo. Nuestro camarero era muy amable y nos recomendó algún que otro plato aunque en general no parecen demasiado profesionales. Pese a ello, repetiríamos.

Unfortunately, the impression of being “welcome” was not conveyed here, there were hardly any tables occupied. When we arrived we weren't really noticed, we ordered 3 pilsners at the table, it took about 15 minutes until we had our order even though there were more than 4 conditions. Prices are also steep, 2cl wine no matter which one is 8.40 euros... Food looked delicious but the price wasn't without...

The food was very tasty. I was pleasantly surprised. "Old Office" somehow sounds pretty classy and not like a place I would normally visit - total misjudgment! Price/performance is right and I'm glad that I was "dragged" into the restaurant by my companion. I'll be happy to come back and bring others with me!!! 5 out of 5 stars!

Breakfast taken in this establishment, very good. Nice square, car-free, in front of the Schiller statue and the market. Go there around 9am. Coffee + croissant + fresh bread €9.50.

Amazing Swabian food - must try their Käsespätzle and Potato Salad. Ot's the best I ever tried being from the region myself. Their wine assortment is amazing as well. Great service. We dined in on a Monday night an waited almost 45 mins for our food.

Over 60 years ago I was often a guest in the Old Office with my grandmother, and now I, now a grandfather myself, enjoyed a very good Swabian menu with my wife on the terrace right next to the Stuttgart fan mile before the European Championship final. With an extremely attentive, friendly service, whose friendliness seemed genuine, not like the stewardess friendliness whose smile freezes as soon as you turn away, and who also scored points with her excellent English skills at the surrounding tables with the predominantly international audience that evening. This is how you imagine modern service in the catering industry, thank you for that!

All the waiters smile and welcome me. Kind waiters and fast food. Above all, a cold beer. I want to come back to these places.

Great place. Delicious regional draft beer. The food is delicious. But you must bear in mind that the portions are not large. Prices are quite high.

A place where you can relax with pleasure, in the center of Stuttgart, at a point overlooking the square. The employees are very polite and caring. Their service is fast, their toilets are clean. We drank coffee and ate creme brulee.

Paid 27€ for a tiny schnitzel and apple juice, quite disappointing. The taste was good though. Wanted to order two dishes initially but they immediately said they don’t have takeaway boxes so only one it was… I guess their loss, even though my mind can’t comprehend this.
