Weinstube Leonardo in Hannover

Zählt für mich zu den Highlights in Hannover. Klein und fein. Außerordentlich gutes Essen. Sehr aufmerksamer Service. Nicht ganz billig, aber jeden Cent wert.

Ich mag vor allem die Herzlichkeit hier!

Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Abend! Die Seezunge, die für mich filiert wurde war perfekt zubereitet. Das Entrecote mit Pfifferlinge war ein echter Genuss und die Bandnudeln mit Trüffeln waren köstlich 👌🏼 Der Service war freundlich und aufmerksam, und die Atmosphäre war einladend. Ich kann dieses Restaurant nur wärmstens empfehlen und freue mich schon auf meinen nächsten Besuch!

Update 20.6.26: Das Restaurant hat versucht meine Bewertung durch Google löschen zu lassen, indem sie sie als "Verleumdung" gemeldet hatten. Da dieser Vorwurf vollkommen haltlos war und ich in der Lage war dies zu beweisen, blieb meine Rezension und ich habe sie um einen Stern verschlechtert. Das Essen hat gut geschmeckt und war von guter Qualität. Die Auswahl an nicht-alkoholischen Getränken hätte größer sein dürfen. Vor allem war aber das Ambiente enttäuschend. Karge Wände, kaum Dekor abgesehen von einigen kleinen Bildern und sehr vielen Flaschen des selben Weins, viel zu grelles Licht. Dafür, dass das Essen so teuer ist, hätte man doch wesentlich mehr erwartet vom Restaurant, doch das Ambiente reicht leider überhaupt nicht an die Qualität des Essens heran.

Ich war letzte Woche dort essen und muss ehrlich sagen, dass mir das Essen immer noch im Kopf geblieben ist. Vor allem die Vielfalt der Gerichte und die besonderen Aromen haben das Ganze echt besonders gemacht. Man merkt sofort, dass dort mit viel Liebe zum Detail gekocht wird und jedes Gericht seinen eigenen Charakter hat. Auch das Ambiente war super angenehm und hat perfekt zum Gesamterlebnis gepasst. Der Service war aufmerksam, freundlich und dabei trotzdem total entspannt. Insgesamt einfach ein Restaurant, das sich wirklich von vielen anderen abhebt.

Qualität hat ihren Preis. Das wird bei Ristorante Leonardo Weinstube verkörpert. Ein authentischer und sympathischer Service, schönes Ambiente und ein tolles Essen mit Liebe zubereitet. Starke Empfehlung!!

In diesem schönen Restaurant haben wir das 4-Gang Menue genommen. Der Chef ist sehr sympathisch und lustig. Er hat uns als italienisches Restaurant einen speziellen weissen Cuvé aus dem Rhonetal zum Essen empfohlen. War sehr gut und auch das ganze Essen von Anfang bis zum Schluss.

Absolut empfehlenswert! Ein echtes Herzstück in Hannover! Die Leonardo Weinstube ist einfach wunderbar! Von der ersten Minute an fühlt man sich wie bei Freunden – herzlich, familiär und ungezwungen. Das Essen war unglaublich gut – jedes Gericht ein echter Genuss, mit so viel Liebe und Sorgfalt zubereitet, dass man am liebsten die ganze Karte durchprobieren möchte. Der Service war aufmerksam und persönlich, ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Genau so stellt man sich eine gemütliche Weinstube vor. Wir kommen definitiv wieder! 🍷

Sehr schöne Location, war mal eine alte Weinstube. Essen, Bedienung waren ausgezeichnet. Durch die Aufteilung in mehrere Räume war auch trotz kompletter Auslastung die Lautstärke angenehm. Es war ein wunderbarer Abend, wie kommen sehr gerne wieder.

Wir haben soeben zur Mittag gegessen und es war hervorragend. Insbesondere die Pasta mit weißem Trüffel.. ein Gedicht. Ich kann dieses Restaurant wärmstens empfehlen. Gediegenes, aber auch zeitgleich entspanntes und warmes Ambiente mit sehr aufmerksamen und freundlichen Personal.

Wenn ALLES stimmt, dann bezahle ich gerne auch etwas mehr. War sehr gut. Wir kommen gerne wieder 😊

We booked at short notice and managed to get a table next to the bar. When other guests canceled their reservations, the team made a real effort to upgrade us, but it wasn't necessary, as we already felt very comfortable. The team's commitment is particularly noteworthy in this context. For dinner, we had the day's specials: after a special mixed appetizer platter, we had the delicious pasta with white truffle and later grilled sole. The food was delicious and attractively prepared and presented. The recommended wine also matched very well, and we were able to chat frequently with the very attentive and witty waiter, who made us feel like we were being pampered at home. Thank you so much for that! We would love to come back next time we're in Hanover.

A truly wonderful restaurant! Authentic Italian cuisine, freshly prepared and full of flavor. The ambiance is warm and inviting, the service attentive and warm. You immediately feel like you're in Italy.

This restaurant is truly incredibly delicious, and the service is extremely attentive. Each dish is very distinctive, with distinct flavors and a rich variety. We will definitely be back next time!

Top service, top food, top wines

We were there on August 8, 2025, hoping to have a wonderful evening with delicious food and wine. But... the wine by the glass was only 100 ml, which was a lot of money, and the food was very expensive. The taste was good, but unfortunately the portions were still too small for us light eaters. My husband was absolutely not full. We asked politely, but only received cutesy answers: we simply shouldn't order a meal... unbelievable... the evening was ruined, we paid a lot of money, but we weren't full... Unfortunately, we can't recommend the restaurant.

We chanced upon this renowned Italian restaurant without making any reservation. The manager/owner took effort to arrange a table for our family of 4. Food is awesome and well layout. The service is wonderful. This restaurant has been around since 1880, plus there is wine cellar beneath.

We had an unforgettable evening with an outstanding three-course menu and a wine pairing. The slightly higher prices are reflected in the exceptional quality of the food. The staff is exceptionally attentive, courteous, and friendly. The atmosphere in the restaurant is also particularly cozy and homey. A clear recommendation, and we will definitely be back!

This is a nice restaurant with some outdoor seating options. We had a nice dinner. The service was ok and the food was good too. It’s an Italian restaurant with a variety of wines to choose from. It’s a good option for dinner in town.

Great food, great service, nice setup. Worth the extra money

If you're into old school basement restaurant, this is it. The atmosphere is not exactly welcoming, furniture & decor is a bit too early 80s (maybe that's the intention?), food is average and wine list is somewhat the same. Not sure how come it still exists considering so many Italian options...

Even after the change of ownership, the highest level. Maybe even better! Certainly one of the best Italians in Germany. Special recommendation as a “signature dish”: oyster risotto! Fantastic! Grace!

A very cozy, well-kept restaurant. The service was very friendly.

So we came all the way from Münster without having any personal or friends' experiences just because of the good reviews online! I have to say I was not only NOT disappointed but all of my expectations were far exceeded. The entrance already suggested a nice ambience and really five out of five stars, the personal welcome and service was fantastically courteous, friendly and attentive and the whole thing was topped by the food. A culinary delight here too, five out of five stars. Of course, the state capital of Lower Saxony has many beautiful or beautiful buildings, parks and sights but this restaurant alone is a reason to visit Hanover. Thank you for the wonderful evening. We'll be back.

Perfect Italian restaurant with great food and perfect service.

Quiet, pleasant, personal atmosphere. Food at a high level. Very appealing to all senses, special requests were also happy to be fulfilled. Great class, a pleasure.

Very expensive and different levels. The high standards are not met (e.g. the goose liver variations or the monkfish.) Delicious salads and pasta dishes.

Was the best way to end Eurotier by taking dinner here. They are generous with the portion and the food was exceptional. And please ask for Romeo to serve you 😍

Such good food, we had a 3 course dinner here and it was amazing. The owner was super friendly, we had to change the reservation twice and he was very helpful. Would definitely recommend this place, especially if you love good wine!

Unfriendly boss treats you like you're unwanted if you don't order anything to eat. We met there with 4 friends and two of us just wanted to drink tons of beers and then some expensive wines - the cutlery was aggressively taken away and several times orders were "forgotten" or the request to get the menu again was simply waved away . Never again.. Addendum after the boss's answer to my criticism: We arrived 10 minutes after our friends and they told them as soon as we ordered that we would only drink. How do you think that in a wine bar you expect your guests to have something to eat? What role does Saturday evening play in this? And their answer doesn't reflect an important fact: they waved us off and shook their heads when I asked about the wine list, so I had to ask at the table whether that had really just happened; they were outrageous. I then had to request another service again. We were guests who left several hundred euros with you and were still treated that way by you. Print large signs that say, "If you don't order food here, you will be made to feel unwelcome." Maybe that will solve these “misunderstandings,” as you describe them.

The food tasted wonderful and was of high quality. The selection of non-alcoholic drinks could have been larger. Above all, the ambience was disappointing. Bare walls, hardly any decor apart from a few small pictures and lots of bottles of the same wine, far too bright light. Given that the food is so expensive, you would have expected a lot more from the restaurant, but unfortunately the ambience doesn't match the quality of the food at all.

A very good authentic Italian 🇮🇹

Delicious food and wine, nice atmosphere, nice people

We went to the wine bar with 10 people. The welcome was warm and authentic. After the welcome, the owner led us into the separate room we had booked. The dishes we then ordered were excellent and freshly prepared. The accompanying wine recommendation, a Chianti Reserva, went perfectly with the meal. We were completely satisfied and can fully recommend this restaurant.

Returned to this restaurant, after 2 years, on the occasion of the IAA 2024 fair. They forced us to choose from the few dishes on a printed menu without prices and the same for all tables; ordered 3 starters, 3 second courses (fillet steak) with scrauso side dish, 3 glasses of wine, water and 3 coffees: €290. Not recommended, the prices are absolutely too high compared to the quality of the dishes.

The ambience is only slightly cozy due to the white walls and bright lighting with moderately comfortable chairs. The service was bad. The owner or boss on site was unfriendly and focused on mass business. When asked about vegan dishes, he dismissed it several times as if it were a scandal to ask - even though it was registered and we were there in a group. After endless discussion and extreme listlessness on the part of the owner, we had a vegan antipasti and a vegan truffle pasta. The food itself was fine - not outstanding, but good. The truffles weren't the best quality and there was a lack of spice in the dishes. It took 2.5 hours until the main course finally arrived.

Ben and Mona are the best hosts in all of Hannover! Amazing food, delicious wine and they made me feel like I was at home for a family dinner. The food had great classics and creative dishes that tasted even better than they look. Didn’t expect to be there long for dinner of my own, but ended up staying almost three hours because I was having so much fun. Was probably my favorite memory from my weeklong trip to Hannover.

We recently had the pleasure of dining at Weinstube Restaurant and I must say it was an excellent experience from start to finish. We tried a variety of dishes including octopus, turbot, tuna tartare and various meat dishes. Every single dish was perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious. The octopus was tender and perfectly seasoned, with a lovely texture that just melted in your mouth. The turbot was another highlight – fresh, juicy and expertly prepared. The tuna tartare was a poem for the senses, with fresh, high-quality ingredients and a perfect balance of flavors. The meat dishes were also first class, tender and full of flavor. Not only was the food excellent, the service was also first class. The staff were friendly, attentive and knowledgeable, making the entire evening a real pleasure. Overall, my visit to the wine bar was a perfect culinary experience. I can only warmly recommend this restaurant and look forward to my next visit!

Was there for the first time. Great service and great quality of food. Had asparagus with a top ham. Better preparation is hardly possible. I'd love to come back. PS: also a great wine list

Having an amazing experience here at Leonardo's. My wife and I have traveled here from Australia via US/Canada and Turkey, and Ben made us feel so at home. Food has been great and the wine is simply awesome. My veal kidney was simply delicious. So was the starter and truffle pasta. And to top it off, we had a complimentary grappa from Ben.

The ambience of the restaurant is very cozy and appealing. You felt like you were in a living room. The service was always friendly and attentive. For food: I chose a steak. I'm used to Italian cuisine being more pleasing to the eye than to the stomach. That's how it was here too. I would have liked to eat more of the tasty potato slices and carrots. Unfortunately, this was only offered as a minimalist decorative addition. Everything tasted great, the meat was high quality and tender. But as I said: I wasn't full. Not even with starter and dessert. I'm used to something different. Apart from that everything was impeccable.

Interessante und delikate deusch-italienische Küche mit toller Weinkarte. Wir hatten das Menü, was jahreszeitl. abgestimmt war und sehr gut schmeckte. Bemerkenswert die umfangreiche Weinkarte mit großartigen Weinen - wir hatten Sauv blanc von Mock :-) . Toller Service, angenehmes Ambiente im Weinkeller look. Volle Empfehlung.

Family run Italian restaurant with delicious food and cozy atmosphere. Make reservation before going there as there are always lots of frequent customers there. They have tasting menu and regular menu. Everything we ordered was delicious. Just a pity they don’t have original tiramisu as it is my favourite dessert. But crème brûlée and pistachio parfait were very good too. Very much recommended.

Interesting first course, not my usual ‘Go To’ but nice to try new foods. Lovely decorations and staff was exceptional! Love the red 🍷.
