A beautiful Swabian restaurant. The food was very good. The staff very friendly and attentive. And there was even a greeting from the kitchen, which fortunately my companion declined.

We have known each other for years and always enjoyed coming over. It was restored and renovated some time ago, now everything is in order and I find it very nice and well maintained. If you have any idea about Swabian cuisine then you will be very well served here. Of course there are other dishes too, but you can only experience the best traditional cuisine here. The price is okay and I even think it's very good compared to other restaurants. Staff is very friendly and nice. Restaurant building just like it has been for hundreds of years, a special address and always a good atmosphere.

We came to the Unicorn without a reservation and were able to take a seat. We liked it very much. Very nice and rustic decor. And the food was delicious. Our choice was melted Maultaschen with onions and lettuce and sour tripe with fried potatoes. We enjoyed it very much. Good portions and very tasty. The service was also very nice and serving was quick. We will be very happy to come back. There are still lots of delicious dishes to try.

Great Swabian food. If you want to eat some authentic and hearty German food that isn't just schnitzel and brats in a cozy candle-lit atmosphere, then this is the place. We got a reservation for 6pm and the restaurant got a little busier by 7. Our waiter was a kind older gentleman who treated us very well. Also, the prices weren't too expensive. Definitely worth it. I wanted to go again the following day while in Esslingen.

De Weinkeller Einhorn is een historisch pand in de Altstadt van Esslingen am Neckar en is een zeer gezellig restaurant en wijnkelder met 3 ruimtes. We hebben erg genoten van de Swabische delicatessen. Wel vooraf reserveren!

Quaint restaurant with a historical appearance. Cozy inside but a little cramped. Nice terrace outside but few tables. Service and waiters were always a bit annoyed and inattentive. Our Swabian dishes were not convincing. Spätzle not homemade, sauce boring, meat tough and dry.

Man sitzt gemütlich, der Service ist sehr herzlich und schnell und das Essen war ausgezeichnet und preislich mehr als fair! Bier war ebenfalls perfekt, nächstes mal probieren wir gerne auch die lokalen Weine. Bis zum nächsten Mal!

Worth a visit, we sat here in the vaulted cellar. The ambience is very nice. The food is simply good, you can't say more about it. There is a large selection so that everyone can find something suitable. Service is on point. A recommendation if you are in Esslingen or the surrounding area.

Das Einhorn war vor einigen Jahren deutlich besser. Das Essen war mit viel Wohlwollen befriedigend. Die Qualität des Fleisches war ok, aber viele der Beilagen waren leider Industrie-Fertigprodukte, wie z.B. Spätzle oder Bratkartoffeln. Schade, das geht echt besser. Personal war freundlich, das Ambiente ist ganz schön.

Even if you're a vegetarian you'll find what you're looking for here, even if it was a bit of a shame that the cheese spaetzle came with bacon, as I mentioned that I like to eat vegetarian food. Hmm... once a really good restaurant, now just good to ok. I deduct one star for the menu, where all interesting dishes are served with roasted potatoes instead of spaetzle and sauce, while every change costs an extra €1. Another star goes to the small, really small portions that force me to eat something before going out to eat. The last star deduction, which I regret most, is because the food is simply no longer good. Any hobby cook can do better with limp spaetzle, tasteless sauce, even melted onions. The only things that were praiseworthy were the potato salad, the beer and the waitress.

Geburtstagsessen mit der Familie, schnelles leckeres gutbürgerliches Essen. Das Essen kam nach ganz kurzer Wartezeit war genau das was wir bestellt hatten Fleisch perfekt angebraten der Rest war auch sehr lecker.

Unfortunately I was not allowed to pay by card, so I had to go to the bank again. I asked again whether card payment was possible, but I was told that cash payment was desired and therefore no card was possible. However, for some inexplicable reason, after I returned, people were accepted to pay by card. It's a shame, because the food was actually quite good.

I do not agree with the tourists who say you can eat good here. They have nice surroundings but not food. Best places in Esslingen are Traube for typical German or Im Reisfeld for asian.

Insanely beautiful historic building, fantastically winding, fairytale wine cellar, great service, well organized kitchen and really delicious. However, a small vegetable side dish with the dish would be desirable. But all in all, we'll be back ❤️

Very good dinner with tasty local Swabian food. We had some excellent maultaschen and beef filet with roasted potatoes, everything coming in large portions. Great beer too, served in traditional jugs.

Great ambience in the old wine cellar! The service staff is hard-working and the orders come quite quickly. The food was rather average. The spaetzle were very neutral, sauces/juice were thin. The ground hazelnut was distributed from the package onto the spaetzle. I would have lightly toasted these beforehand. No matter which knife we ​​tried, they couldn't cut game meat well. A colleague's highlight was the chocolate cake and ice cream, which he even ordered twice. 🙂

If you need to destroy your self, this is the place. The menu is about 40 items which is a disaster. I'm wondering how many freezers they have. The food was horrible, the drinks were good, the service was nice.

It is a wonderful German restaurant with Swabian dishes. We were a group of 20. Our server Vivian was excellent! She handled all of our requests with professionalism and charm. We all tried various dishes. Those pictured here are the cheese spread and sausage salad for sharing. The mains are the duck breast and deer.

Es ist jedesmal eine Freude im Einhornkeller zu sein. Das Ambiente ist einfach toll und das Essen ist super. My wife and I enjoyed spent a December weekend enjoying both the traditional and the medieval Christmas markets. However, every now and then, we had to escape the crowds for some quiet time. We found this amazing restaurant and wine cellar and enjoyed spending time in both. We only wanted a light meal so we split a platter of Obazda, a spicy Bavarian cheese. The original Obazda was a use of old leftover cheese, especially Camembert, Brie, or other soft cheeses. To make it tasty again, the ripe to overripe cheese was mixed with butter and spices were added, mainly paprika and often caraway or onion. We also each had a bowl of soup. She went with the Maultaschen soup while I enjoyed a cream of potato. Both were delicious. Afterwards, we ventured downstairs to the wine cellar and enjoyed two more glasses of wine. What a wonderful evening! I am glad we found a unicorn!

Sehr untergebildetes Personal Mann sollte immer für 2-3 Personen mehr Reservieren ich musste auf dem Boden sitzen obwohl wir für genug Personen Reserviert, Mir wurde ein anderes Gericht gebracht als ich bestellt habeund es gibt kein Internet

Nun, am letzten Tag des Weihnachtsmarktes ES zum Essen zu gehen, ist natürlich auch eine Herausforderung für die Lokalität. Trotzdem: Die Gänsekeule hatte vermutl. ein intensives Traing im Fitnesscenter hinter sich. Auch beim Personal merkte man, daß die Luft raus war. Auf eine weitere Runde, die meine Eindrücke entw. bestätigt oder besser, diese ad absurdum führt.

Das war toll. Sehr nettes, professionelles Personal. Die Karte ist umfangreich- aber die Gerichte sind von guter Qualität. Gute Auswahl der Weinkarte. Wartezeit fürs Essen war angemessen. Die Atmosphäre ist großartig. Es ist von außen sehr klein, drinnen sind es jedoch unterschiedliche Räumlichkeiten, im Erdgeschoss und auch im Keller. Am Anfang war es ein bisschen ärgerlich. Irgendwie haben sie unsere Reservierung nicht gefunden, aber uns dann doch runtergebracht. Nachdem wir uns hingesetzt haben war das unangenehme Gefühl weg - danke guter Bedienung.

In diesem vorzüglichen Restaurant erlebte ich einen Abend der Extraklasse. Der Service, unter der Leitung von Marisol, war perfekt - aufmerksam und kundenorientiert. Das Essen, insbesondere die Gänsekeule mit Rotkraut und Knödel, war nicht nur köstlich, sondern auch von herausragender Qualität. Das krönende Finale bildete das Schokoladenmousse als Dessert. Ich kann dieses Restaurant uneingeschränkt jedem empfehlen, der exzellenten Service und kulinarischen Genuss sucht.
