Nice atmosphere and delicious food There are a lot of slightly different menus, so it might be a good idea to check out what they have in advance. Desserts such as baked apples and ice cream are also delicious, so you can eat, drink, and have dessert in one go at this restaurant. The cooking level is similar to the attached photo when ordering rare. Oh, and cell phones don't work in the basement, so be careful if you use a translation app.

One of the best breweries I have made in my life. A magical atmosphere in this basement with these candles and this smell of stone/fireplace in which you feel warm! The food was really excellent and the prices are not exaggerated for a brasserie with fresh and homemade dishes (counting between 10 and 40€ for the menu per person), without forgetting that these are the local specialties and my god that it was good! The staff were really lovely and very dynamic, speaking English and German as well as French. The waiting time is not long personally. Furthermore, the latter accompany the card with a booklet with illustration to avoid making a mistake when ordering, which is very well thought out for foreigners like me and my girlfriend. I highly recommend! 😋

Beautiful, rustic inn in the middle of the very beautiful old town of Esslingen. We went there with a group after a tour of the city and were not disappointed Nice menu with many Swabian specialties and a decent price-performance ratio.

We were in the wine cellar with 60 people on November 2nd for our fire brigade trip. The great cellar, which is over 700 years old, is beautifully and stylishly furnished. The food was consistently delicious. The portions are good and plentiful. And the service was great. Despite the many simultaneous orders, everything went very quickly and well. And the prices are absolutely appropriate for the service and performance. The Einhorn is a great restaurant with great food and ambience in the beautiful old town of Esslingen.

The service was attentive and friendly. The ambience in the wine cellar was breathtaking. Unfortunately, the food was not at the level we expected. We had onion roast with fried potatoes and deer ragout. As a starter we had a cheese platter with Obazda. And for dessert Kaiserschmarn with cranberries. Unfortunately, we didn’t like it. The vine was good.

Good home-made dishes at a reasonable price, a large selection of regional wines and friendly service in various rooms and a beautiful vaulted cellar (with a great bartender).

We went there for dinner for the first time today and found it extremely cozy, drinks and food arrived quickly even though all the seats were occupied. The service was very friendly and the onion roast and the unicorn pan with medallions tasted excellent. Portion sizes are okay. At €70 for 2 drinks including drinks, we were happy with the price, but the rustic atmosphere is really nice and you immediately feel at home. It's best to make a reservation, it's always pretty full :)

The Unicorn is a fabulous wine bar. There are various wonderfully decorated rooms, one of which is a vaulted cellar that is over 700 years old. The food is very good value for money, tasty, fresh and very Swabian. But vegetarians can also find delicious food. The atmosphere is hustle and bustle and very pleasant.

The Einhorn is what you would imagine a Swabian, home-style restaurant to be. Unfortunately, there are hardly any places like this anymore. The service was tip top. Extremely friendly and very accommodating. The food was impeccable. And the price for the daily recommendation in terms of quality can be considered very affordable. We were thrilled and would love to come back.

They were able to take us in even though they were booked solid. 6 of us bumbling Americans in a historic, medieval town. Food, wine, the restaurant itself was amazing. Our waitress was not friendly and was impatient with us, but that truly is my only complaint. Everything else was amazing.

We came here spontaneously one evening. It was well attended. Personally, it was a little too dark in the wine cellar for me. I had the rump steak with fried potatoes which was very good, but I found the portion to be a bit too small, a small side salad would have been good for the whole thing. Nevertheless, it was very tasty. My friend had the unicorn salad with chicken.

Super delicious Swabian cuisine, friendly people and a unique, rustic atmosphere!

We went to the Einhorn wine cellar for a birthday dinner. We were guided by the good reviews on Google Maps. We had reserved in advance and therefore had no problems finding a place. I can recommend this place for a Saturday evening as it was packed when we visited. The atmosphere in the cellar is very pleasant. It's really dark for a restaurant, but the well-chosen lights illuminate the most important places at a good level. Although the food is not prepared in the basement but in the kitchen upstairs, it was relatively warm here. The service staff is very nice and professional. We never felt unseen or annoyed. There was always a smile, no matter which employee we had in front of us. Most of us ordered an onion roast. Some had fried potatoes as a side dish, others spaetzle. The meat was mostly ordered medium well-done, but some also wanted their meat well done. In the end, all roasts were fried relatively similarly, medium to medium-rare. Regardless, the roast was relatively tasty. The onions, however, didn't convince everyone of us. I had fried potatoes as a side dish and they tasted good. In general, the food in the Einhorn wine cellar is good, but it cannot justify the prices the restaurant charges. I don't have much to complain about in anything else and that's why I'm giving it four stars.

Very good Swabian cuisine with a great selection of wines. Regardless of whether you sit in the rustic rooms or outside, a visit to Einhorn is highly recommended. We were there with a large group. Whether with meat, vegetarian or gluten-free - there was something for everyone. The potato salad is a poem, just like a good Swabian one should be. Maultaschen are great, whether vegetarian or with meat - in all variations. There are classics like Aofelküchle at the bedside table. Everything is fresh and delicious and there is a great selection of regional wines. Despite the restaurant being full, the service was friendly and tried to make everything right. Top!

As always... a great experience in all areas

My experience is a bit older. I ate there on June 24th. The ambience is unique. The old vaulted cellar also provides some coolness. Unfortunately my food was really bad. I had asparagus with potatoes. It didn't taste like anything. Perhaps these dishes are cooked in advance and left in the water. The waiter also brought the wrong bill and was overall very unfriendly. I hope it was an exceptional day.

Restaurant with a nice atmosphere - but with somewhat uncomfortable chairs outside, as the seat cushions are significantly smaller than the seat area. The food was nothing special, but good - except for the green salad, which was unfortunately a while past its prime. We had reserved for 7:00 p.m. and were allowed to place orders at 7:35 p.m. 5 minutes later we were informed that the food will take a long time as a large reservation ordered just before us. When we wanted to find out what we meant by long, a black-haired lady came from the service and was so unfriendly and outraged that we asked for information. Otherwise the staff was super friendly.

A beautiful Swabian restaurant. The food was very good. The staff very friendly and attentive. And there was even a greeting from the kitchen, which fortunately my companion declined.

We came to the Unicorn without a reservation and were able to take a seat. We liked it very much. Very nice and rustic decor. And the food was delicious. Our choice was melted Maultaschen with onions and lettuce and sour tripe with fried potatoes. We enjoyed it very much. Good portions and very tasty. The service was also very nice and serving was quick. We will be very happy to come back. There are still lots of delicious dishes to try.

We have known each other for years and always enjoyed coming over. It was restored and renovated some time ago, now everything is in order and I find it very nice and well maintained. If you have any idea about Swabian cuisine then you will be very well served here. Of course there are other dishes too, but you can only experience the best traditional cuisine here. The price is okay and I even think it's very good compared to other restaurants. Staff is very friendly and nice. Restaurant building just like it has been for hundreds of years, a special address and always a good atmosphere.

Great Swabian food. If you want to eat some authentic and hearty German food that isn't just schnitzel and brats in a cozy candle-lit atmosphere, then this is the place. We got a reservation for 6pm and the restaurant got a little busier by 7. Our waiter was a kind older gentleman who treated us very well. Also, the prices weren't too expensive. Definitely worth it. I wanted to go again the following day while in Esslingen.

De Weinkeller Einhorn is een historisch pand in de Altstadt van Esslingen am Neckar en is een zeer gezellig restaurant en wijnkelder met 3 ruimtes. We hebben erg genoten van de Swabische delicatessen. Wel vooraf reserveren!

Quaint restaurant with a historical appearance. Cozy inside but a little cramped. Nice terrace outside but few tables. Service and waiters were always a bit annoyed and inattentive. Our Swabian dishes were not convincing. Spätzle not homemade, sauce boring, meat tough and dry.

Man sitzt gemütlich, der Service ist sehr herzlich und schnell und das Essen war ausgezeichnet und preislich mehr als fair! Bier war ebenfalls perfekt, nächstes mal probieren wir gerne auch die lokalen Weine. Bis zum nächsten Mal!

Worth a visit, we sat here in the vaulted cellar. The ambience is very nice. The food is simply good, you can't say more about it. There is a large selection so that everyone can find something suitable. Service is on point. A recommendation if you are in Esslingen or the surrounding area.

Das Einhorn war vor einigen Jahren deutlich besser. Das Essen war mit viel Wohlwollen befriedigend. Die Qualität des Fleisches war ok, aber viele der Beilagen waren leider Industrie-Fertigprodukte, wie z.B. Spätzle oder Bratkartoffeln. Schade, das geht echt besser. Personal war freundlich, das Ambiente ist ganz schön.

Even if you're a vegetarian you'll find what you're looking for here, even if it was a bit of a shame that the cheese spaetzle came with bacon, as I mentioned that I like to eat vegetarian food. Nevertheless, the service was very nice and relaxed and the atmosphere with old German and Swabian traditions was recognizable. I would definitely like to come back.

Hmm... once a really good restaurant, now just good to ok. I deduct one star for the menu, where all interesting dishes are served with roasted potatoes instead of spaetzle and sauce, while every change costs an extra €1. Another star goes to the small, really small portions that force me to eat something before going out to eat. The last star deduction, which I regret most, is because the food is simply no longer good. Any hobby cook can do better with limp spaetzle, tasteless sauce, even melted onions. The only things that were praiseworthy were the potato salad, the beer and the waitress.

Racist sayings from waiters! Absolutely disgusting! Don't go here anymore. Kässpätzle were good, but covered in a fatty cheese crust (sounds good, but it wasn't).

Geburtstagsessen mit der Familie, schnelles leckeres gutbürgerliches Essen. Das Essen kam nach ganz kurzer Wartezeit war genau das was wir bestellt hatten Fleisch perfekt angebraten der Rest war auch sehr lecker.

Unfortunately I was not allowed to pay by card, so I had to go to the bank again. I asked again whether card payment was possible, but I was told that cash payment was desired and therefore no card was possible. However, for some inexplicable reason, after I returned, people were accepted to pay by card. It's a shame, because the food was actually quite good.

We had dinner here last night. Absolute recommendation… the food was top notch, the staff were competent, friendly and very accommodating. Always happy ☺️
