Lebrechts Scheunenfest in Esslingen am Neckar

Was closed, we were there after 10 km. hiking so looking forward to a refreshment 😥.

The ambience and first impression were fine, but the same could not be said for the toilets. Price performance is miserable, I don't think it's okay to charge such high prices for small quantities of food. I think the €20 entry fee after 10 p.m. is overpriced and unjustified. It's a shame for the journey we had to make. We will not visit this restaurant again.

Very nice flavors, a wide variety, worth trying, too big a meraklidiki portion, the dish for one person is enough for 2-3 people comfortably

The food is excellent, the service in the restaurant is very friendly. Everything clean but simple. Not much going on (mostly pickup) and therefore very pleasantly quiet. Recommendation!

I've been enthusiastic about this restaurant ever since, recommended it to everyone I knew and raved about it, even frequently organizing business lunches with important clients there. Now, after almost a year, I've eaten there myself, and I'm very disappointed, almost shocked. I've obviously bought spaetzle (and not the good ones, unfortunately), and the potato salad seems to have been the same. The roast beef gravy, which used to have a consistency and color similar to balsamic vinegar (dreamy!), now resembles thickened meat broth. Such a shame! I used to love it here... The only positive point was actually the lady who served us, as she was really friendly, helpful, and courteous. I just hope we were just having a bad day and the criticism is properly acknowledged and something is done with it. We'll maybe try again later in the year and hopefully have better luck!
