The food was good, but at our table, there was one wrong, one cold, and one raw dish, and even the next table had one cold dish. In terms of taste, though, you can't complain.

Went there for some weekend lunch. Was very tasty and had good portion sizes. Service was friendly although seemed to be overwhelmed because it was so full.

Rough waiter. I asked where you could sit. I was rudely answered that I had to wait at the entrance and that he was coming. He didn't come within ~10 minutes

To charge almost 30 euros for 4 sticks of asparagus, pre-cooked potatoes and a little sauce is a bit exaggerated.

Rude staff and poor service – Never again I stayed at the Jägerhaus with friends and our experience was disappointing. The waiter was rude, unprofessional and made us feel unwelcome - sometimes even racist. He forgot our orders, didn't bring the potato salad until we were about to leave, and I had to remind him twice about the beets. When we wanted cake, he said we should order at the counter - they then said we had to order at the table. Completely chaotic and disrespectful for a supposed 4 star restaurant. On top of that, he even used a swear word in conversation with me - absolutely unacceptable. After paying we realized that he had even given us the wrong bill. The beer was good, but the fries were way too greasy. I wouldn't recommend anyone to go there.

The Jägerhaus is a real gem - the beautiful view of Esslingen impresses as soon as you arrive. A place where you can immediately relax and simply feel good. From a culinary point of view, it was a complete hit: the stuffed gnocchi in a fruity tomato sauce were a dream - tender, aromatic and with a wonderfully balanced sauce that went perfectly with it. The other dishes on the menu also make you want to try more. Everything seems fresh, prepared with care and lovingly presented. The service was consistently friendly, attentive and warm - you can tell that people work here with passion. And then this view! A place that sets standards - 100 stars are still not enough! Sometimes you discover places that are more than just a restaurant - the Jägerhaus in Esslingen is definitely one of them. As soon as you enter, you can feel the special atmosphere: stylish, cozy and with a touch of elegance that never seems intrusive. The kitchen? A real feast for all the senses! Each plate was not only a hit in terms of taste, but also visually a work of art. The ingredients – unmistakably fresh and combined with sensitivity. Here we don't just cook, we celebrate with passion. But what makes this place unforgettable is the view: rolling hills, lush nature and a panorama that is difficult to describe in words. Anyone who has ever sat on the terrace at sunset knows what I'm talking about. And then there is Jacky – a service person you could only wish for. She anticipates your every wish, remaining warm, attentive and at the same time wonderfully authentic. Jacky brings warmth to the table and makes the visit personal. It's rare that service contributes so much to the overall experience - that's the case here. The food tasted good, BUT my friend's medium-rare meat was raw inside! And I mean really raw! You couldn't even call that English anymore...it shouldn't be happening. The prices are really high and, in my opinion, a bit overpriced. The atmosphere...the acoustics there are like a cafeteria; there's a constant, extremely loud chatter, which we found a bit unpleasant. The staff were very friendly; we have nothing to complain about. We were invited there; I wouldn't go there myself, and we won't go again. There are better and cheaper restaurants.

When there is a lot going on it is very loud. The food is great. The atmosphere is very nice. I came and had to wait 10 minutes to order the drink. Then again until it came and I was very thirsty because I had a long journey behind me. Otherwise I was completely satisfied. Gladly again.

The Jägerhaus in Esslingen is still worth recommending. Very very friendly staff. The food was great in a pleasant atmosphere.

5 stars for the Jägerhaus in Esslingen – a perfect stay! I had a wonderful stay at the Jägerhaus in Esslingen - I was completely impressed by both the hotel and the restaurant! The rooms are clean, comfortable and invite you to feel good. After a restful night, I enjoyed the delicious breakfast - a great selection and everything freshly prepared. Parking spaces are located around the hotel and there is an underground car park with direct access. I was particularly impressed by the restaurant in the evening. The food was simply delicious – perfectly seasoned dishes, high-quality ingredients and an attractive presentation. A real pleasure experience! Added to this is the excellent service: the entire team is very friendly, attentive and quick - you feel welcome at all times. Conclusion: If you are looking for first-class accommodation with excellent food in Esslingen, the Jägerhaus is the right place for you. I'll definitely be back!

Really great food. There isn't much to choose from, but the kat on the menu is really good. Portions are large.

I faced the worst attitude today at this place. Outside terrace, half filled, and I come up to the waiter to ask a question about their restaurant deciding whether to stop there or not. And he tells me, please step back, I do not have time for you right now. It’s already after I waited at the sign and he addressed me directly from a distance, so I came up and asked my question. Guess what, decision whether to make a stop there was made right away. It’s a pity, looked like a nice place… from a distance.

Unfortunately, yesterday the wild goulash and the red cabbage weren't tasty. Both lacked the basic spice. The red cabbage was watery and the very little meat was half flax. And seasoning with salt and pepper alone doesn't help. Our visitor from Spain, to whom we had raved about the good food, was also very disappointed because after the second bite he only had flax in his mouth. This can't be allowed!!!! The cook in charge must ensure that the meat is picked correctly and that the dishes also taste like something. Each of us left a good €40 per person with drinks. And you can expect that the quality is right. The service and the ambience are top. Hope that on our next visit the food will be of quality instead of quantity.

Very courteous service, the food is excellent - both in terms of taste and to the eye. Simply a pleasure to spend time in the hunter's house. Beautifully located, the surrounding area is perfect for running. The terrace is beautiful, you have a view over the city to the airport. My great-grandparents also spent Sundays eating in the hunter's house.

The food was okay for the price. The service wasn't particularly nice. In the end, another €10 was added to the price. Why? I don't know either. I also gave a tip. Unfortunately I noticed it too late, but something like that is not acceptable!

Worst night I've ever spent in a hotel. A renovated room doesn't help if the ballroom is underneath it. I sang along to every song with the bawling party guests until 8 a.m. In response to our complaint when we checked out at the reception there was only a flippant apology without any response. Thank you never again...

New Year's Eve meal: four-course menu for €80. The food is an absolute disaster. The fish was inedible, the soup was so bad. Many ready-made products, the punch with frozen forest fruit. The main course was too salty. I didn't even try the dessert. In over three and a half hours the waitress came twice and asked for drinks.

The food is a little above average but also correspondingly expensive. The service is nice and attentive but could be more professional. The ambience is nothing special but still pleasant.

We were invited there yesterday for a big birthday. The waitress didn't know where the table for 18 people was. Nothing was beautifully decorated, a few tea lights, that was it. After drinking coffee you had to wait forever until someone came by to get water and other drinks. People preferred fiddling around on their cell phones at the counter, even though the restaurant wasn't fully occupied. Dinner came quite quickly, but it was only lukewarm for me. They also didn't ask if everything was OK. Some would have liked some sauce with the duck. Something like that doesn't work at all!!! In our opinion, this restaurant is not worth recommending, as the service still needs to be improved.

We ate here for the first time today and were very impressed. The food is very tasty (best spaetzle ever!), the portions and prices were reasonable. The staff is very friendly, everything is well looked after, great! We liked the ambience, although it was very busy it wasn't loud or too crowded. We are very satisfied and will come back with our family!

In the Jägerhaus I was served coffee that was so thin that you could clearly see the bottom of the pot. And it tasted so thin. Then the whole beautiful ambience was no longer relevant.

Absolutely excellent food and first-class service at the Jägerhaus! For the starter I had tripe, which was perfectly prepared, and for the main course, lentils with spaetzle - both a real treat. The staff were extremely attentive and professional. Particularly noteworthy is the host, who not only does a great job, but is also very communicative and friendly. I can highly recommend the Jägerhaus and will definitely come back!

After the walk we wanted to sit comfortably and drink coffee. I suspect due to a lack of staff...like everywhere else...the outside area was not served. However, you could get everything your heart desired in self-service, sit beautifully outside and enjoy the weather. Thank you for the wonderful time with you.

We were a larger group of approx. 30 people there for lunch. Nevertheless, no one had to wait long for their food and everyone was satisfied. I had game goulash with spaetzle and cranberries, absolutely delicious. The inside of the restaurant is decorated with a variety of antlers, which is of course a matter of taste. But after all, it's not called Jägerhaus for nothing. The view is breathtaking. I'll save pictures, other reviewers have already posted enough of them.

We celebrated a lovely party in the Jägerhaus with a party of almost 90 people. I would like to highlight a few positive things: The Jägerhaus team gave us great support during the preparation and responded to our wishes. The team's advice was also worth its weight in gold. The staff and service at the festival were really, really good. All guests commented on how well they were looked after. The food was super tasty. Some guests said that with the name Jägerhaus they would be skeptical as to whether the food would be too rustic, but it was great in all aspects. Mega tasty, beautifully presented, simply 10/10. Huge thanks to the whole team for this great day.

We celebrated our wedding in the Restaurant/Hotel Jägerhaus and were very satisfied - from the initial contact and advice, through short-term arrangements until shortly before, everything was friendly, professional and problem-free. The hotel has a great location “above the rooftops of Esslingen”, we all liked the food very much and the service staff that was there for us and our guests, Mary and Ray, were just great! We had an unforgettable day and a great time - many thanks to Mr. Rörich & the Jägerhaus team!

We came here for the first time for our mother-in-law's birthday and we really enjoyed it! Particularly noteworthy is the friendliness of the service staff. We keep the Jägerhaus in mind as the location for the next round.

Unfortunately you have to give one star to publish a review. Absolutely worst service we have ever experienced. But then the question arises: what decency, manners and customer service should one expect from such village people? Since 2023 we have ordered a salad with goat cheese (starter, €14.50) as a larger portion. We were always charged an additional €4 for this, so the salad cost €18.50. When we received the bill this time, we were wondering how the price of €60 for a bottle of water and two salads came about. Of course, we immediately turned to the (inexperienced, incompetent, unprofessional) waitress named Lara C. who served us. Because the bill was simply thrown together: a side salad was added (reason: because of the additional lettuce leaves) AND a third portion of salad. My question as to how the price was determined was answered with “the boss decided so”. When we wanted to speak to the boss, we were told that he was “no longer there”. Another aggressive, blonde, strong waitress was called in to reinforce the situation, and she angrily snatched the receipt out of her hand to take a look at it. The incompetent waitress named Lara C. finally took all her courage to attack us and become rude. When we further asked “how a salad with cheese can cost more than a salad with meat”, they said “yes, cheese is expensive”. Of course we understood that immediately and were able to understand the calculation better :-) (irony). Result: They refused to change the bill. You would expect at least a small note from a restaurant about how to calculate larger portions (upon request). Simply booking different positions at random is absolutely unacceptable. Dear guests, be careful in this restaurant, check your bills and don't get ripped off!

We had dinner at the Jägerhaus this evening. We had the roast roast, the pepper slices, linguine and bread dumplings, each with chanterelles. Plus a vegan dish. It was all very tasty and delicious. The side salads were also really good. Mr. Raymond B. served us extremely friendly and with a lot of humor. Thank you for the lovely evening

The food is average and the prices are excessive.

Unfortunately, even after my last visit, I can't say anything too positive. We were there with a group, my mixed salad with turkey breast strips only had a tiny dollop of potato salad, the carrot salad was completely missing. The others in the group seemed to be fine. I complained, but unfortunately this complaint was completely ignored several times. I had to wait a good 20 minutes for my drink (fizzy!!!). It was incredibly hot that day! When the drink was finally delivered, there wasn't even an apology about the long wait. The food itself was ok, but nothing special, the price was way too high. The leaves of the lettuce are clearly a convenience salad mix. Such a shame! I've heard so many good things about the Jägerhaus and tested it several times. So far it hasn't convinced me once.

We come to the restaurant regularly. The ambience and service were good again today. Unfortunately the quality of the food is no longer up to par. I ordered a schnitzel with spaetzle and sauce. The schnitzel was not cooked through, which was evident from the breading, which was still very light. Unfortunately, the spaetzle was only lukewarm. The service was good as always and the wait staff was very nice and helpful. We won't be coming here to eat again for the time being and hope that the quality will improve again.

Nice staff and I would say that the organization is good to very good. But you get the feeling that it's a starter, main course and dessert. You won't get full from venison goulash alone.

We went for lunch on August 26, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. Unfortunately, the fries were cold and rock hard. Schnitzel and vegetarian food were great. Therefore only 4 stars. There were 2 women responsible for the service. One very friendly (big black hair) and the second blonde and unfriendly. When I pointed out to her that we had also ordered fries, she gave the rude answer that she only has 2 hands 😞😞 Her whole behavior wasn't friendly either. We weren't unkind to her!!! Therefore only 3 stars!! We asked politely! It's a shame ☹️ otherwise it would have been perfect

Now that the holiday season is over, I have finally found the inspiration to write a review. We went to the restaurant for lunch and coffee/cake with a smaller birthday party. Since we have eaten here several times, it was clear that this would be a successful celebration. The Jägerhaus team not only met expectations, but even exceeded them. Many thanks to everyone who contributed to the success. Just the fact that we had a niche in the “tavern” just for us and the table was decorated so well is worth a lot of praise. All of our guests have never been to the Jägerhaus before but are full of praise and will definitely come back again.

We have eaten at the Jägerhaus several times now. Beautiful surroundings, great beer garden and restaurant. The food in the restaurant, home-style cooking, tastes very good. I think the price-performance ratio is good. The service was always very friendly and attentive. Because of my food allergy, an uncomplicated solution has always been found. The fact that you can manage that, given the size of the restaurant, including the beer garden and the hotel operation, is a big respect. My respect! You sometimes turn a blind eye to one or two rare service faux pas. It's nice that there is a restaurant like this in our area. Gladly again and again.

Last weekend, eight of us had dinner at the Jägerhaus on the occasion of a birthday. At the beginning we had to wait a little longer for a table (despite reservations and free tables on the terrace). The waiters all seemed already annoyed and stressed and weren't particularly friendly. We then had to wait quite a long time for the food. What was very weak, however, was that during the entire dinner, not once did a waiter come to us to ask if we would like something to drink again or if we would like to order anything else in general. We weren't asked whether everything was okay or whether we liked it. Very unusual for such a restaurant with an actually good reputation! All in all the food was good, there's not much to complain about. The soups could have been a little spicier. The crowning glory (unfortunately very negative) came with the bill. With a total bill of around €270, our bill also included 2 main courses and 2 drinks worth almost €50!! If I hadn't requested the invoice (which I was only offered after paying), we would have paid €50 more. Apparently it was food and drinks from guests from lunch. Luckily I got the money back without much discussion. Conclusion: Service is subpar and absolutely inattentive, something urgently needs to be improved here. The food tasted good.

We went to the Jägerhaus for coffee on Saturday, July 20th, 2024, which was pure disappointment! The coffee was a transparent liquid, the apple pie had a musty, old taste. The poppy seed cheesecake was solid and anything but tasty...any cake from a supermarket shelf would have been a delicacy in comparison.

Everything was fine, only there was only one waitress, there were quite a lot of people and she simply physically did not have time to serve everyone. I had to wait, otherwise everything was fine, I recommend coming here to relax

We were there for dinner with a group of 10 on a Wednesday evening. As soon as we walked in we were warmly greeted and escorted to our table. The service was consistently professional, friendly and courteous. As a starter I shared the Madagascar curry cream soup with my companion. The soup with the shrimp and the bread served was very tasty. For the main course I chose the sliced ​​wild boar and my companion chose the Steinbeisser fillet. Both were very good in terms of quality and taste. What we also noticed very positively was the acoustics of the large dining room. Despite the full tables, the volume was never high, which is why we were able to have a great conversation.

The surrounding area is very beautiful and a good starting point for hikes. We were a large group and wanted to make a reservation. We were told on the phone that there was a wedding at their place and therefore no reservation was possible. But the beer garden with kiosk and self-service would be open. We would be able to get a place there, but without a reservation. When we arrived the beer garden was closed. 🙄 Although we got seats on the terrace, we had to wait a little longer for drinks and food. But food was great. 👍

Very nice beer garden with a great view. Just had a little something here and it was very good. Dinner in the restaurant as unfortunately it started to rain. I had the filet tips hunter style, very good, especially the sauce was very tasty. I can only recommend it. The price is a little higher, but that is definitely justified. Overnight stay in the hotel, room clean and big enough. The only thing that bothered me a little was the light on the outside of the window, but that's just a minor thing. Underground parking can be used free of charge.
