We come to the restaurant regularly. The ambience and service were good again today. Unfortunately the quality of the food is no longer up to par. I ordered a schnitzel with spaetzle and sauce. The schnitzel was not cooked through, which was evident from the breading, which was still very light. Unfortunately, the spaetzle was only lukewarm. The service was good as always and the wait staff was very nice and helpful. We won't be coming here to eat again for the time being and hope that the quality will improve again.

Nice staff and I would say that the organization is good to very good. But you get the feeling that it's a starter, main course and dessert. You won't get full from venison goulash alone.

We went for lunch on August 26, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. Unfortunately, the fries were cold and rock hard. Schnitzel and vegetarian food were great. Therefore only 4 stars. There were 2 women responsible for the service. One very friendly (big black hair) and the second blonde and unfriendly. When I pointed out to her that we had also ordered fries, she gave the rude answer that she only has 2 hands 😞😞 Her whole behavior wasn't friendly either. We weren't unkind to her!!! Therefore only 3 stars!! We asked politely! It's a shame ☹️ otherwise it would have been perfect

Now that the holiday season is over, I have finally found the inspiration to write a review. We went to the restaurant for lunch and coffee/cake with a smaller birthday party. Since we have eaten here several times, it was clear that this would be a successful celebration. The Jägerhaus team not only met expectations, but even exceeded them. Many thanks to everyone who contributed to the success. Just the fact that we had a niche in the “tavern” just for us and the table was decorated so well is worth a lot of praise. All of our guests have never been to the Jägerhaus before but are full of praise and will definitely come back again.

Simply wonderful!! Everything is just right. The food is delicious, there are always small changes to the menu. Depending on the season, new dishes are offered. There is also a good selection of wonderful dishes for vegetarians. The service is simply outstanding. The service staff is very attentive, very friendly and competent. For me it's my absolute favorite restaurant, just like it was for my grandparents and great-grandparents. I'm already looking forward to our next visit.

We have eaten at the Jägerhaus several times now. Beautiful surroundings, great beer garden and restaurant. The food in the restaurant, home-style cooking, tastes very good. I think the price-performance ratio is good. The service was always very friendly and attentive. Because of my food allergy, an uncomplicated solution has always been found. The fact that you can manage that, given the size of the restaurant, including the beer garden and the hotel operation, is a big respect. My respect! You sometimes turn a blind eye to one or two rare service faux pas. It's nice that there is a restaurant like this in our area. Gladly again and again.

Last weekend, eight of us had dinner at the Jägerhaus on the occasion of a birthday. At the beginning we had to wait a little longer for a table (despite reservations and free tables on the terrace). The waiters all seemed already annoyed and stressed and weren't particularly friendly. We then had to wait quite a long time for the food. What was very weak, however, was that during the entire dinner, not once did a waiter come to us to ask if we would like something to drink again or if we would like to order anything else in general. We weren't asked whether everything was okay or whether we liked it. Very unusual for such a restaurant with an actually good reputation! All in all the food was good, there's not much to complain about. The soups could have been a little spicier. The crowning glory (unfortunately very negative) came with the bill. With a total bill of around €270, our bill also included 2 main courses and 2 drinks worth almost €50!! If I hadn't requested the invoice (which I was only offered after paying), we would have paid €50 more. Apparently it was food and drinks from guests from lunch. Luckily I got the money back without much discussion. Conclusion: Service is subpar and absolutely inattentive, something urgently needs to be improved here. The food tasted good.

Been here several times. Never been disappointed. Food was good, selection satisfactory. Service super good. Reservations are also necessary in the beer garden. Depending on the weather, great views over Esslingen. I'd love to come back.

I recently visited Jägerhaus in Esslingen and I’m delighted to give it a 5-star rating! The restaurant offers a stunning view from the terrace, which adds to the overall dining experience. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel very welcome. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Each dish was full of flavor, making it a memorable meal. Additionally, the location is perfect for a relaxing day out, as it’s close to a scenic walking path through the forest. If you’re in the Esslingen area, I highly recommend visiting Jägerhaus. It’s the perfect spot for great food, excellent service, and a lovely ambiance.

Nice outdoor terrace with a beautiful view over Esslingen! Lots of nature around! The food didn't convince us. Had schnitzel with fries and chanterelles with bread dumplings. Convenience food….unfortunately… The kids liked the raspberry spritzer… Waitress was very nice and friendly.

Wonderful atmosphere with a wonderful view over Esslingen. The service is usually very good and everything happens very quickly. The food is okay, nothing special but good value for money. I will definitely like to come back often.

We went to the Jägerhaus for coffee on Saturday, July 20th, 2024, which was pure disappointment! The coffee was a transparent liquid, the apple pie had a musty, old taste. The poppy seed cheesecake was solid and anything but tasty...any cake from a supermarket shelf would have been a delicacy in comparison.

Everything was fine, only there was only one waitress, there were quite a lot of people and she simply physically did not have time to serve everyone. I had to wait, otherwise everything was fine, I recommend coming here to relax

We were there for dinner with a group of 10 on a Wednesday evening. As soon as we walked in we were warmly greeted and escorted to our table. The service was consistently professional, friendly and courteous. As a starter I shared the Madagascar curry cream soup with my companion. The soup with the shrimp and the bread served was very tasty. For the main course I chose the sliced ​​wild boar and my companion chose the Steinbeisser fillet. Both were very good in terms of quality and taste. What we also noticed very positively was the acoustics of the large dining room. Despite the full tables, the volume was never high, which is why we were able to have a great conversation.

The surrounding area is very beautiful and a good starting point for hikes. We were a large group and wanted to make a reservation. We were told on the phone that there was a wedding at their place and therefore no reservation was possible. But the beer garden with kiosk and self-service would be open. We would be able to get a place there, but without a reservation. When we arrived the beer garden was closed. 🙄 Although we got seats on the terrace, we had to wait a little longer for drinks and food. But food was great. 👍

Very nice beer garden with a great view. Just had a little something here and it was very good. Dinner in the restaurant as unfortunately it started to rain. I had the filet tips hunter style, very good, especially the sauce was very tasty. I can only recommend it. The price is a little higher, but that is definitely justified. Overnight stay in the hotel, room clean and big enough. The only thing that bothered me a little was the light on the outside of the window, but that's just a minor thing. Underground parking can be used free of charge.

The Jägerhaus has stood in the same location for decades, as a hotel and excursion restaurant. Actually a top address back then. However, over the last few years the quality of the food has changed and unfortunately this is not to the advantage, average at best. You try to have fine dining, but you forget where you come from. Especially on hot days, I wished for an expanded and customized map. A pity!

We were served very courteously and had to wait quite a while for the food. The game goulash with pear, cranberries and spaetzle is delicious. Only the spaetzle was cooked too soft for my taste. That's why I always use fried potatoes. But I'll ask if you could cook the spaetzle for a little less time. I can also highly recommend the salad with the Argentinian beef fillet tips. When the visibility is clear, the ambience is unsurpassed in this region. If you sit at the right table, you have a wonderful view of the Swabian Alb. Since I, as a Berliner, am used to slightly different prices, I would classify this restaurant as rather high-priced. That's why I don't eat there too often. But it's a pleasure every time.

Chef very sensitive to complaints about food. Became loud and quickly insulted, even though the complaint was presented objectively. Young staff were dressed down in front of guests. It doesn't work at all!

This is a review for the beer garden. The restaurant itself is super tasty, the service is always friendly and the standard is high. I understand it all the less in the beer garden. The service seemed a bit stressed, so far okay on a sunny Sunday. Then I asked for the order twice because I had forgotten it, and that was ok too. Then, in return, when paying, people reacted quite annoyedly when they looked for change (ready to hand in 3 seconds). But the whole thing was topped by the fact that afterwards you had greasy handprints on your plate and the gentleman who collected the money also touched the food with his hand and served it. In my opinion, hygienically questionable. As a note again, the restaurant is great!

Very nice location near the Jägerhaus. Unfortunately, the staff was very inflexible when a customer wanted to sit in a coveted sunny spot and this area was not served. The food is rather average and the price/performance ratio doesn't match.

The supplement was replaced without comment. Unfortunately, the sauce was too salty and had lumps. Not okay for the steep price.

Full recommendation! I was able to get to know this great restaurant while passing through Stuttgart. The location and the entire ambience are super nice and cozy. Many festivals and celebrations probably take place here. The service and the food are top notch, the salad was crisp and fresh, the dressing and the fried beef strips were top notch. I can recommend it to everyone, it is worth a trip.

I ate the Swabian plate - pork loin in mushroom sauce with spaetzle... 21 euros without salad decoration or side dish... no, the spaetzle were not worth the money... the staff were super friendly, but unfortunately they included the "surprise dessert." My husband forgot...he didn't feel like complaining, things like that are always annoying. What was definitely positive was the friendly staff and the fast service as well as the beautiful view

Overall, a good restaurant with good and attentive service. The quality of the food is good and it has a good price-performance ratio. The Jägerhaus is a popular excursion and walking destination in Esslingen at a high altitude with some beautiful views of the Neckar Valley. On nice summer days the beer garden is very full. The service is then quickly overwhelmed. No drinks menu is given out, you have to ask for everything. Unfortunately the coffee was only lukewarm. The beer mug had a big crack. All little things that add up a bit, but still recommended.

We were outside the city in the restaurant of a very nice, cozy hotel. It is both ancient and modern. Price-value ratio: very, very worth it! Decorative and clean. The staff is kind and attentive. I can't write about the toilets because we didn't use them, but I assume they are clean there too. It is family and child-friendly and easily accessible for the disabled. If the weather is nice, we will eat on the terrace and we won't miss dessert either. ❤️

We had dinner there today and had the special meal Wild Goulash, followed by an apple strudel. The goulash was very tasty, the apple strudel tasted good, but the consistency was too thick for us and had something rubbery. Despite all this, five stars for the food and the attentive and friendly service. Unfortunately, the beer brands Dinkelacker and Sanwald are not on a par with the food; beers from the local Schönbuch brewery, for example, taste much better, hence only four stars. Reservations are recommended, the restaurant was completely full on a Wednesday lunchtime.

Stopped there for the first time yesterday to celebrate a 70th birthday. In the older part there is a rustic and romantic atmosphere. The “extensions” are more open and modern, but not uncomfortable. The service was super friendly and incredibly on point. The wine recommendation was 100% suitable for both my choice of food and my taste. The menu is clearly regional with some modern components. Plus daily recommendations on the board and activities. My decision yesterday was an aperitif, a non-alcoholic cocktail with raspberry juice, tonic water and pomegranate components. A hammer. As a starter, baked goat cheese with a bed of lettuce and sweet chutney. The second hammer and madness was the main course. A Zurich Geschnetzeltes with herbed mushrooms. At first I was worried that they would be too herbal, but the combination is absolute madness. The veal was perfect, not a bit too dry or even overcooked. I chose Rösti for this. I told the service that if the Rösti had been homemade, I would have given it 11/10. The wine list is well stocked with mostly local wines. But also other delicacies like my Cabernet Savignon 2019 from Navarra. The price-performance ratio and the quality are absolutely insane. It's definitely not the last time I've been here.

Das Jägerhaus ist als Restaurant mit seinem Biergarten in allen Bereichen (Essen, Ambiente, Service, Höhenlage) sehr empfehlenswert. Bei klarem Wetter hat man eine tolle Aussicht über die Stadtteile von Esslingen bis Stuttgart.

Über Essenund Anderes können wir leider nichts sagen. Das Jägerhaus hat lt. Reklame 13. jähriges Jubiläum und hat deshalb 5 Wochen lang Jubiläumsklassiker. Für die Woche 29.01.-04.02. war dies 1/2 Ente aus dem Backofen……und das wollten wir Essen. Deshalb HaBEN wir schon am Anfang der Woche für Sonntag 04.02. um 18.30 2 PlätzE reserviert und gefragt , oB wir die Ente bestellen müssen. Man müsste die Ente nicht bestellen, das wäre kein Problem. Heute sind wir um 18.30 in das Restaurant und haben unsere Plätze eingenommen und jeweils einen Aperitif bestellt.Als wir das Essen bestellen wollten, hatten wir kaum Essenswunsch ausgesprochen, haben wir zur Antwort bekommen, dass die Ente aus ist. Wir könnten zum gleichen Preis entweder Cordon bleu oder Wildgulasch bekommen. Achdem ich Moslem bin und beides Schweinefleisch enthält, kam das für mich nicht in Frage. Als Ausrede hat man uns gesagt, dass der Andrang heute sehr stark war und die Küche hat damit nicht gerechnet. Das ist meiner Meinung nach nicht kaufmannisch gedacht. Ausserdem ist es eine Unverschämtheit, dass man zuerst auf Nachfrage sagt, dass man das Essen nicht vorbestellen muss, weil genügend vorhanden. Bei der Bestellung muss man sofort hören, dass, das Essem ausgegangen ist. Wir haben dann Wohl oder Übel unser Aperitif getrunken und auch leider bezahlt, weil wir haben ja Aperitif bestellt weil wir dort auch essen wollten. Wir sind dann natürlich ohne Essen gegangen. Eine Entschuldigung wäre das Mindeste, denken wir. Für uns war das auf jeden Fall, das letzte Mal, das wir das Jägerhaus Restaurant besucht haben. Kein Stern keine Weiterempfehlung. Auch an Bekannte nicht.

Wir waren nach einer Wanderung dort und haben die Ente genossen. Sehr gut. Unsere Servicedame war ganz toll und liebenswürdig. Weiter so.

War leider gar nichts und trotz hoher Rechnung große Enttäuschung. Schade. Terrasse mit wunderbarer Weitsicht zur, Schwäbischen Alb. Schön gelegen. Parkplätze zuhauf. Mit Reservierung leider lange warten müssen. Schlange für reserviert und spontan ident. Zwischen Abräumen und Bedienen setzt das Personal. Weinkarte nicht aktuell. 2020 bestellt, 2021 erhalten. Generell zu viele sehr junge Weine im Angebot. Preise im oberen Segment, Herkunft größtenteils lokal. Gebratene Shrimps noch leicht lauwarm, fast kalt. Extrem gefaltet bei hoher Hitze in der Pfanne. Ziegenfrischkäsemedaillons angebraten aber bei Servierung kalt. Warm wäre harmonischer. Soweit in Ordnung. Hauptgang Zander war gar nichts und geschmacksneutral. Viele Nudeln fangen das qualitativ nicht auf und waren auch kein besonderer Schmaus. Gute 25 EUR für Fisch o. k. aber Qualität muss passen. Und das hat sie bei weitem nicht. Halbes Teller zurück, was auch Bedienung auffiel und hinterfragt wurde. Gab einen Espresso aufs Haus. Macht aber den Hauptgang natürlich nicht wett. Saibling gut gewürzt, mit Spinat und Bratkartoffeln o. k. Service gibt das Beste und alle sind trotz Unmenge an Tischen und Menschen stets freundlich. Fazit: Die Mischung aus Hotel-Restaurant mit Terrasse und eher Biergarten-Atmosphäre geht nicht recht zusammen. Kiosk nebenan glücklicherweise abends geschlossen. Gemenge sonst noch schwieriger. Niveau selbst am Samstagabend Biergarten/Ausflugslokal auch von den Gästen her mit Fahrrad, Hund und Sporttasche. Speisen, die sich exklusiver auf der Karte lesen, als sie de facto sind. Preise Hotel-Restaurant was nicht gerechtfertigt ist. Große Kluft. Wer einen entspannten Abend zu zweit ohne Sandalen und Schlabberlook bei sehr gutem Essen verbringen möchte geht besser woanders hin. Kann sein es kostet noch ein bisschen mehr, passt aber dann.

Schön gelegenes Restaurant mit ansprechendem Ambiente und nettem + aufmerksamen Service, wenn man wie in unserem Falle die richtige Kellnerin verwischt, andere wirkten da deutlich ruppiger. Wir waren zum Abendessen da und wollten einen entspannten Abend verbringen. Aus dem wurde jedoch nichts, da sich im Vorraum eine Faschingsgruppe aufgehalten hat, die mit Partylautsprecher und reichlich Gegröle jede normale Unterhaltung unmöglich machte. Unverständlich, dass dies in einem eigentlich gehobenen Restaurant Samstag abends geduldet wird.Wir hatten reserviert, kein Wort dazu seitens des Restaurants. Das Essen selbst ist durchschnittlich, Preis-/Leistung passt hier nicht. Der Zwiebelrostbaten für 26,50 ist in Ordnung, das Wildgulasch für 25€ aber absolut überteuert. Geschmacklich beliebig, die Portionsgröße hat Vorspeisenniveau. Sehr schade, sollte doch gerade dieses Gericht die Paradedisziplin eines „Jägerhauses“ sein. Die anderen Gerichte waren ok, überessen tut sich in diesem Restaurant aber keiner.

Sehr schöne Lokalität hoch über Esslingen mit einer tollen Aussicht. Essen sehr gut, Preis Leistung stimmen. Sehr freundliches Personal die sich sehr gut kümmern ohne aufdringlich zu sein.

Wir waren mit 14 Leuten zum Geburtstag einer Freundin im Restaurant Jägerhaus essen. Das Restaurant ist sauber und ansprechend eingerichtet. Der Service sehr freundlich, aufmerksam und zügig. Die Speisekarte ist nicht zu überfüllt, es gibt auch für Vegetarier eine Auswahl. Das Essen war frisch und sehr lecker, allen hat es sehr Geschmeckt. Die Portionen sind den Preisen gegenüber angemessen. Eine Sache fand ich sehr schade. Als ich um ein kleine Aufmerksamkeit (einen Schnaps oder einen Cocktail) „aufs Haus“ für unser Geburtstagskind fragte, bekam ich leider eine Absage, trotz Rechnung von über 520€. Bei solchen Anlässen wäre es doch angemessen gewesen. Trotzdem auf jeden Fall ein Besuch wert!

Schönes Restaurant oberhalb von Esslingen mit wunderbarem Ausblick Richtung Neckartal. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist angemessen.

Letztens wieder dort gewesen. Kurzfristig Gans gegessen mit den Kindern. Aperitif war ok, Vorspeisen bzw Suppen (klassisch Flädle und Maultaschen), Gans mit Knödeln und Rotkraut auch, genau wie das Dessert (Apfelküchle). Service war wie immer ok, freundlich und schnell, obwohl der Laden voll war. Empfehlenswert, jederzeit gerne wieder. :-)

Sehr schöne Atmosphäre und Ambiente ! Wir haben eine schöne Runde zu Fuß hinter uns und nach paar km durch Wald . Selbstverständlich hungrig und besonders Platz gefunden, Jägerhaus ist Beste Location ! Lieber in voraus reservieren lassen weil ist fast tagtäglich um Mittag voll . Wir haben Glück gehabt und bekommen eine Tisch und sind sehr zufrieden und glücklich ! Essen ist nach 15,20 Minuten schon auf dem Tisch und schmeckt sehr lecker! Sind nicht zum ersten Mal da und komme immer wieder gerne ! Alles gute und danke!
