Restaurant Jägerhaus in Esslingen am Neckar

We stopped at the kiosk next to the restaurant at the Jäherhaus. The owner is super nice and funny, and the location is pleasant. You can sit in the shade under the chestnut trees, and there's a pleasant breeze. They serve fast food like currywurst, fries, etc. It tastes good and is easy on the budget.

Yes, I can now highly recommend this place again. Everything was extremely satisfactory!

We held an event in the restaurant, which has a separate room. The hotel/restaurant is beautifully situated with views of parts of Esslingen. The food was outstanding. The service was also excellent; despite the separate and quiet room, someone regularly came by for drinks, etc. Even when it was late in the evening and we asked for food afterward, this was immediately accommodated.

Despite several attempts to get the staff's attention, we were not served. After a long wait, we spoke to the manager directly – instead of showing understanding or offering a solution, he reacted extremely rudely and simply turned us away. Such disrespectful behavior towards guests is absolutely unacceptable. We will certainly not visit this restaurant again and cannot recommend it to anyone. Our poor little grandson, who was incredibly hungry, suffered the most from this treatment.

The Jägerhaus Hotel & Restaurant with beer garden is a great spot for nice weather. 👍 In addition to delicious food, the beer garden also offers a wonderful view of the Neckar Valley as far as the eye can see. The staff are very friendly, efficient, and accommodating, and some are incredibly pretty. 🤔😁 The beer garden is completely wheelchair accessible. I can recommend the Jägerhaus (beer garden) with a clear conscience. 👍

Average quality dish, a little too salty. The biggest complaint is about the apple strudel. Inedible. Full of dough, minimal apple. Needs to be chewed like bread. Zero crunchiness. Nice view and friendly, helpful waiters.

Lunch Starter: Small side salad, €6, was okay. Main course: Hunter's House peppercorn schnitzel in green peppercorn sauce with fried wild mushrooms, shaved spaetzle. Six tiny pieces of meat, hard and dried out! The wild mushrooms were made from 1 1/2 quartered mushrooms! The pepper sauce was too salty, 6 peppercorns! I doubt the hand-scraped spaetzle. The whole main course cost me €22!!! I'm not surprised if the restaurant is slacking, considering this performance.

Excellent restaurant, beautifully situated above Esslingen. We visited for the first time with a small group and felt very comfortable. The staff were helpful and very friendly. However, reservations are recommended, especially on weekends. The food was delicious. Even though all the tables in the restaurant were occupied, we didn't have to wait very long for our food.

We celebrated our daughter's confirmation at the Jägerhaus Esslingen. We received excellent support during the planning and preparation, and even changing the menu and cake two weeks in advance was no problem at all. The food was good, but at our table there was 1 wrong meal, 1 cold meal and one raw meal and even at the neighboring table there was 1 cold meal. However, you can't complain about the taste

Rough waiter. I asked where you could sit. I was rudely answered that I had to wait at the entrance and that he was coming. He didn't come within ~10 minutes

Rude staff and poor service – Never again I stayed at the Jägerhaus with friends and our experience was disappointing. The waiter was rude, unprofessional and made us feel unwelcome - sometimes even racist. He forgot our orders, didn't bring the potato salad until we were about to leave, and I had to remind him twice about the beets. When we wanted cake, he said we should order at the counter - they then said we had to order at the table. Completely chaotic and disrespectful for a supposed 4 star restaurant. On top of that, he even used a swear word in conversation with me - absolutely unacceptable. After paying we realized that he had even given us the wrong bill. The beer was good, but the fries were way too greasy. I wouldn't recommend anyone to go there.

The Jägerhaus is a real gem - the beautiful view of Esslingen impresses as soon as you arrive. A place where you can immediately relax and simply feel good. From a culinary point of view, it was a complete hit: the stuffed gnocchi in a fruity tomato sauce were a dream - tender, aromatic and with a wonderfully balanced sauce that went perfectly with it. The other dishes on the menu also make you want to try more. Everything seems fresh, prepared with care and lovingly presented. The service was consistently friendly, attentive and warm - you can tell that people work here with passion. And then this view! A place that sets standards - 100 stars are still not enough! Sometimes you discover places that are more than just a restaurant - the Jägerhaus in Esslingen is definitely one of them. As soon as you enter, you can feel the special atmosphere: stylish, cozy and with a touch of elegance that never seems intrusive. The kitchen? A real feast for all the senses! Each plate was not only a hit in terms of taste, but also visually a work of art. The ingredients – unmistakably fresh and combined with sensitivity. Here we don't just cook, we celebrate with passion. But what makes this place unforgettable is the view: rolling hills, lush nature and a panorama that is difficult to describe in words. Anyone who has ever sat on the terrace at sunset knows what I'm talking about. And then there is Jacky – a service person you could only wish for. She anticipates your every wish, remaining warm, attentive and at the same time wonderfully authentic. Jacky brings warmth to the table and makes the visit personal. It's rare that service contributes so much to the overall experience - that's the case here. The food tasted good, BUT my friend's medium-rare meat was raw inside! And I mean really raw! You couldn't even call that English anymore...it shouldn't be happening. The prices are really high and, in my opinion, a bit overpriced. The atmosphere...the acoustics there are like a cafeteria; there's a constant, extremely loud chatter, which we found a bit unpleasant. The staff were very friendly; we have nothing to complain about. We were invited there; I wouldn't go there myself, and we won't go again. There are better and cheaper restaurants.

When there is a lot going on it is very loud. The food is great. The atmosphere is very nice. I came and had to wait 10 minutes to order the drink. Then again until it came and I was very thirsty because I had a long journey behind me. Otherwise I was completely satisfied. Gladly again.

5 stars for the Jägerhaus in Esslingen – a perfect stay! I had a wonderful stay at the Jägerhaus in Esslingen - I was completely impressed by both the hotel and the restaurant! The rooms are clean, comfortable and invite you to feel good. After a restful night, I enjoyed the delicious breakfast - a great selection and everything freshly prepared. Parking spaces are located around the hotel and there is an underground car park with direct access. I was particularly impressed by the restaurant in the evening. The food was simply delicious – perfectly seasoned dishes, high-quality ingredients and an attractive presentation. A real pleasure experience! Added to this is the excellent service: the entire team is very friendly, attentive and quick - you feel welcome at all times. Conclusion: If you are looking for first-class accommodation with excellent food in Esslingen, the Jägerhaus is the right place for you. I'll definitely be back!

I faced the worst attitude today at this place. Outside terrace, half filled, and I come up to the waiter to ask a question about their restaurant deciding whether to stop there or not. And he tells me, please step back, I do not have time for you right now. It’s already after I waited at the sign and he addressed me directly from a distance, so I came up and asked my question. Guess what, decision whether to make a stop there was made right away. It’s a pity, looked like a nice place… from a distance.

Unfortunately, yesterday the wild goulash and the red cabbage weren't tasty. Both lacked the basic spice. The red cabbage was watery and the very little meat was half flax. And seasoning with salt and pepper alone doesn't help. Our visitor from Spain, to whom we had raved about the good food, was also very disappointed because after the second bite he only had flax in his mouth. This can't be allowed!!!! The cook in charge must ensure that the meat is picked correctly and that the dishes also taste like something. Each of us left a good €40 per person with drinks. And you can expect that the quality is right. The service and the ambience are top. Hope that on our next visit the food will be of quality instead of quantity.

Very courteous service, the food is excellent - both in terms of taste and to the eye. Simply a pleasure to spend time in the hunter's house. Beautifully located, the surrounding area is perfect for running. The terrace is beautiful, you have a view over the city to the airport. My great-grandparents also spent Sundays eating in the hunter's house.

The food was okay for the price. The service wasn't particularly nice. In the end, another €10 was added to the price. Why? I don't know either. I also gave a tip. Unfortunately I noticed it too late, but something like that is not acceptable!

Worst night I've ever spent in a hotel. A renovated room doesn't help if the ballroom is underneath it. I sang along to every song with the bawling party guests until 8 a.m. In response to our complaint when we checked out at the reception there was only a flippant apology without any response. Thank you never again...

New Year's Eve meal: four-course menu for €80. The food is an absolute disaster. The fish was inedible, the soup was so bad. Many ready-made products, the punch with frozen forest fruit. The main course was too salty. I didn't even try the dessert. In over three and a half hours the waitress came twice and asked for drinks.

As always, really good, delicious food in a cozy, warm atmosphere. The waitresses were all super friendly and nice. I really like it 🤤😊
