Nothing for the really hungry, even if you can easily order more. Everything delicious and a gigantic selection of spirits. Everything was packed with Christmas decorations.

What a beautiful restaurant in the heart of the city. This restaurant was booked out so you must call to make a reservation. The family running this place are so lovely and welcoming. We had the most amazing Raclette to start and then cheese fondue for main. This was also paired with a wine specifically made to accompany fondue. I would highly recommend stopping by this amazing restaurant while you are in Munich. Everything was perfect!

Great place and amazing cheese fondue

Ωραίο φαγητό στο κέντρο του Μόναχου. Φάγαμε σνίτσελ και ribs. Αξιοπρεπέστατα. Το ρεστωράν εξειδικεύεται στα φοντί. Είναι οικογενειακή επιχείρηση και την φροντίδα έχει ο μπαμπάς, πιθανά η μαμά στη κουζίνα και οι κόπτες στο service. Επίσης πολύ ωραία διακόσμηση.

We came in and it was a bit empty but I don’t know why. The food was amazing and the service was so good. Cheese fondue, 10. Chocolate fondue, 10. Wine, 10. Can’t recommend enough.

Classic trap for tourists (and others). It is in a good location near the market, from the outside it looks very typical and beautiful in the Bavarian context. When you enter, however, all the problems begin: 1) Overwhelming smell, or rather, it smells like fried food and grease, it sticks to your clothes in the first 5 minutes you stay inside, the space is poorly ventilated and there don't seem to be any ventilation systems present 2) The menu appears unclear and confusing, clearly to turn things in their favor during payment. The dishes, which are super expensive, are presented as MANDATORY for two people, they cannot be taken individually, but you are told that the price is per person, for example we paid €36 per person for a fondue, so €72 in total 3) The fondue itself is very heavy and the dish we tried is not very varied, you are only given pieces of bread (dry to boot!) and very few unseasoned vegetables 4) Water costs €7, a price that cannot be justified in any way The only positive sides are the appearance of the place which unfortunately is ruined by the nauseating smell of fried food and the friendliness of the staff which however takes second place when you think about the rip-off they are serving you. We were there with our team for the Christmas party. I spoke to the two owners on the phone several times in advance and even had to postpone it once. Everything wasn't a problem. I was always called back reliably and treated in a very friendly and flexible manner. When we were there, it was really cozy and the owners were incredibly nice. The atmosphere was very cozy and, above all, it wasn't excessively loud, which I really liked. We had cheese fondue, which was delicious and enjoyed by everyone. Really highly recommended. 😍

Great fondue and wonderful atmosphere!

The best part was the waiter. He was great. Friendly and really helpful. the meat was cut too small and the oil too hot. My meat was burnt regardless what I did. Also 7.20 € for a bottle of still water is about 4 Euro too much. WORST : the raw chicken was on the same plate you're supposed to eat the food of. I'm not sure that's safe. On the account of salmonella.

Stumbled across this place. They required reservations, but accommodated our party of 4. Prompt service and excellent interaction. Food (both fondue and not) arrived promptly and was delicious. Prices were reasonable. Would highly recommend!

My husband and I went for Saint Valentine's day dinner and we were very happy with our experience. We ordered cheese fondue, meat fondue, and last chocolate fondue. All were large portions and perfect high quality ingredients. The atmosphere of the restaurant is just right for this type of menu. We were very happy with our meal.

30 minuti di attesa in piedi solo per chiedere se avevano posto, 1 ora di attesa per ordinare e come se non bastasse si son dimenticati di portarci il vino. Quando ci hanno portato lo scontrino il vino era incluso, ho chiesto delucidazioni a riguardo e son venuti a controllare i bicchieri perché non si fidavano. Alla fine abbiamo pagato e il titolare non si è nemmeno scusato. Non ci torneremo.

We were seated and desired to order chocolate fondue for 3 but the waitress told us that she will only let us stay if we order 4 chocolate fondue. In Munich you can eat strudel or ice cream almost everywhere, but chocolate fondue is something special. Why would you have such a dish in menu and wouldn't give people chance to try it!?

O lugar é bonito e o fondue de queijo é muito saboroso. O fondue de carne a quantidade de carne que servem não vale o preço. A proprietária é simpática porém não é bem intencionada. Pedimos 1 fondue de queijo e ela perguntou se queríamos misturar com o de carne. Achei estranho e perguntei se seria a metade queijo e a outra metade carne ela disse que sim… no final a conta cobrou 3 fondues. Ficou muito caro pelo que foi apresentado. Outras pessoas fizeram relatos semelhantes o que me faz concluir que é uma prática comum.

During a recent visit to Munich for the Christmas Markets, my wife and I walked by Weinhaus Schneider. It looked nice and we made a reservation for the following night. It is very small so reservations are a good idea. When we arrived, the restaurant was full except for our reserved table. They have a nice wine, beer and drink selection. We had the beef, chicken and veal fondue. The meat was fresh, and the included sides were tasty. We had a leisurely, fun dinner - it was clear that our table was ours for the evening. (This is in contrast to some other restaurants in the area that want to turn the tables over a few times each evening.) There were only two people working but we never had to wait very long for anything, they were really hustling! We had a delicious dinner and a very relaxed evening in a great restaurant, and highly recommend Weinhaus Schneider! (One location comment: This restaurant is right outside of Marienplatz in Munich, but on TripAdvisor it is labeled as being in "Bavaria". Don't miss it if you are near Marienplatz!)

This restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere, very attentive staff, comfortable seating, and a great location right off the main square. Be sure to try their homemade soups and salads and then share a cheese fondue between three people for an order. We even topped it off with one order of chocolate fondue. The bread was robust and fresh, which was perfect for dipping. They were meat and cheese platter as an appetizer was also excellent.

Wir waren 4 Personen / 2 Pärchen und hatten reserviert. Fondue sehr lecker, muss man mal gemacht haben. Das Ambiente und Bedienung sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Einen Stern Abzug da es mit den Preisen zu viert kompliziert und Bestellung falsch verstanden wurde. Somit wurden 5 Fondue (2 x Brühe + 3x Käse Fondue) berechnet statt 4 wie es eigentlich gewünscht war für 4 Personen....und Schokofondue wollten wir nur 2 (also für ein Pärchen) abgerechnet und erklärt wurde im Nachhinein das er für alle 4 verstanden und gebracht hat). Da wir von den Mengen her keine Ahnung hatten wieviel es normalerweise ist und er wegen Platzmangel auf dem Tisch z. B. die Brühe nur in einem Topf serviert hat, was völlig ok war. Das Ende vom Lied das wir mit Getränke 240 € bezahlen mussten. Getränke waren Wasser, 1 Bier, 2x Glas Wein und 2 Schnäpse. Wir werden nicht mehr hin gehen, da Preis/ Leistung nicht für uns stimmt.

This is a great restaurant. We were there 6 people together and what a treat. If you like fondue this is the place. Fair price and excellent food. We had all the cheese fondue and for dessert had some fruits and chocolate fondue. I reconmend this place. What we also loved was the "old" feeling of everything, like you could trust these guys. I have always had great experiences here. Never been overcharged or treated badly as some reviews suggest. Very cosy like a Christmas grotto, great for couples or groups! Haven't tried the fondue but looks and smells great. Definately memorable! My bf and I came here for our first date and came back for our anniversary :)

We have eaten here many times during the years, and was really delighted to be able to visit again, they don’t have a website so booking is a bit tricky. I called direct to book as they get so busy. The best Cheese Fondue as always, they serve other dishes as well. It’s such a unique place and it’s always so good. Definitely worth a try.

My partner and I arrived right as they opened for dinner and were still prepping for what turned out to be a full house by the time we left- this place is popular! The restaurant is decorated in a delightful Bavarian theme that is everything you want from a cozy fondue house. Even though the staff were clearly busy with prep, a few different people came over to have pleasant conversations with us in both German and English, brought drinks and appetizers within a few minutes, and made us feel as if were VIP customers as opposed to tourists passing through. Every bite was delicious! From the garlic bread, the bubbles, the deliciously dressed salad, to the generous portion of fondue...absolute heaven! Amazing service, we will be back! Thank you!

My friend and I were looking for a place to have dinner near marienplatz. We wanted to try fondue and went to this restaurant. Unfortunately, as we lined up to go into the restaurant, a server came up to us skipping the ppl in front of us to tell us to leave the restaurant. He said "NO NO NO" in a brusque manner. He then ushered us out of the restaurant to the streets and told us "NO" again. We didnt see him interact this way with the people in front of or behind us. And we were not given an explanation on why we were denied dining in the restaurant. We only have some distressing speculations that borders on conclusions that we were being discriminated against. So after being chased out in that rude manner out of the restaurant we made our way to a lovely Italian place called Fedora down the road where the service was impeccable in spite of the busy time of the day. It helped us to cope with the bitter experience here.

Absolutely bizarre place. Upon entering we saw someone (apparently they worked there) seem to chase out a couple with mumbled German whilst we were standing there (leaving us still a tad tipsy and terribly confused). They were good enough to seat us eventually as we stood in the terrifyingly decorated dining room, which after a bunch of drinks at the xmas markets made me feel like I was about to meet my doom. Once sat 3 items from the menu were declared at us. We innocently believed this to be a recommendation and perused the menu (some things sounded great), alas when the hostess eventually returned and we had decided what we wanted we found out, to our crushing disappointment, that in fact those 3 items were all they could make for us... Cheese fondue was out of the question due to food intolerance (although other people's did look nice), the other two options were another type of fondue or wiener schnitzel... we are terribly stubborn and had survived this long! We couldn't lose now (and were tired and a bit tipsy so we just wanted to eat)! The wiener schnitzel was OK but I had already eaten one far superior for lunch. Pretty dry and bland. When my partner asked for mayonnaise for her fries, a gigantic bottle of ketchup arrived and was plonked on the table. We couldn't help but laugh and decided that we were suddenly full at this point. We waited for some time for the bill and then bailed. Drinks were good (its Germany of course). I won't return to this place for fear of my soul. I do oddly recommend that people go if only to experience the madness of this restaurant. They may have had a bad night and they definitely didn't ruin mine.
