Somehow something went wrong. I reserved a table for December 31st. However, when we got there, the restaurant was unfortunately closed. Shortly before that, however, I received a reminder to make a reservation. Well, I was able to take a look at it from outside . Maybe it will work the next time you visit Munich.

Excellent food. We had the Jagerschnitzel. Perfect portion size. The side of spätzle was crispy and delicious! Wonderful service, even when having a party of about 40 people in a side room.

The journeyman's house is a bit hidden and is overlooked by normal walk-in customers. The ambience is Bavarian and somewhat cool. The menu has a large selection and the taste was very good. Portions are large. But there are also senior portions. The service is quick and friendly. An insider tip for me.

I give one star because I can't give less, the food is practically inedible and I won't add anything else about it, then inside the restaurant I'll just tell you that there are rats walking under the tables, I strongly advise against eating here. DISGUSTING

Damn good pick! In the doldrums of Munich's tourist restaurants, hell in terms of taste and price, there is a little hidden... it's here! Dish of the day and extensive menu. Friendly staff even if they only speak German. Local food prepared. Haven't found a better plan in Munich! Especially since for dessert there is always the possibility of picking up a Sunday for 1.99 at Burger King just a stone's throw away...

I arrived a little scared from another place, from which I left very disenchanted with the unfriendly staff, and being greeted with a smile as soon as you enter was a very positive point. I went to dinner alone and tried the beef soup and Nuremberg sausages, all delicious! The place is very well maintained and the atmosphere is very pleasant. The price seemed appropriate given the size of the dishes and the drink in line with the rest of the restaurants in the area. I would repeat and recommend it without a doubt.

This traditional restaurant is centrally located on the Stachus, but somewhat hidden in a side street, behind the former Kaufhof. A little inconspicuous from the outside, behind the entrance there is a large bar with an adjoining room and a beer garden in the back yard. The decor is traditional but very subtle, without the usual knick-knacks on window sills or on the wall. You feel comfortable here from the first moment. There is an extensive food and drink menu on which everyone will find something to suit their needs. Our Cordon Bleu and the Bergsteiger Schnitzel tasted very good. The portion was also generous. In terms of price, this restaurant stands out from the surrounding locations. The price/performance ratio is right here. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. We'll definitely come back.

Best food so far in Germany on our trip

We've tried several German cuisine restaurants and this for us ranked the best. My partner loved the steak with dried onions Nothing that blew my palate but I like my vegetarian dish - creamy mushroom with bread dumpling. It's like Campbell soup with matza balls. The pretzel wants great. Maybe because it was the end of the day and it's been sitting there the whole day. The apple strudel was just ok. We had a better one at a different restaurant.

Second time of eating here. Relaxed unfussy Bavarian fare with mostly locals, which can't be a bad sign.

It was supposed to be a nice evening, unfortunately it was a disaster, the soup was simply tasteless, had to be seasoned several times, and the ox shreds were completely over salted. To top it off, a mouse (or several) strolled back and forth between the guest towns and the beer garden. The waiter apparently already knew this, but it didn't bother him. Traditional dishes, well prepared and well served at a fair or even great price, considering that you will hardly find anything cheaper and with the same quality. The service was good, but I was only with my family on days when there was little movement. Regarding the space, I believe there is a problem with the ventilation of the space, as much of the cigarette odor from the open area and the street seems to invade the interior of the restaurant, making it a bit inconvenient for non-smokers. Furthermore, it is a great German food restaurant, located close to Karlsplatz (Stachus) station, but hidden from the urban chaos. Worth the visit.

Good home cooking and a special ambience

I was the only one, at 6pm. Construction in the area might be hurting them. Food was food, seemed old, just reheated, cooked days ago. Who knows if you will get good food and proper meal, or it will be a Ghost of its old glory.

I should have taken it as a sign when we walked in and there was only one other couple dining here at prime dinner hours. It only got worse with our food, as our spaetzles were clearly microwaved from the day before, and our chicken was bland. Even still, I wasn’t fully turned off to the place. However, after seeing multiple mice running around the restaurant, I was ready to leave. After alerting our waiter to the issue, he first acted confused and pretended not to understand what I was talking about, until he confessed that he was aware of the rodent problem, but seemed unconcerned with the issue. Safe to say that we then left without taking another bite of our food.

I think it's a really good inn. I didn't see a mouse in the kitchen and everything was clean for me.

This inn not far from Karlsplatz (Stachus) is better known among locals and is very pleasant to linger and feast on. There were six of us in this inn and we were completely satisfied - there was no loud (live music) and so we were able to have a perfect conversation. Compared to other Bavarian taverns in the center, the prices here are relatively moderate. For example, I had a pike-perch fillet with spinach and parsley potatoes for €19.90 - in comparable, sometimes better-known restaurants, the food is a little higher priced. In the attached pictures you can see the pike-perch fillet and also the "Bergsteiger pork schnitzel in cheese and pretzel breading with potato salad.". The service was good and quick, the food was very good and the restaurant was clean and somewhat rustic (chandeliers with deer antlers, etc.). Overall, clear recommendation.

Terrible experience, the pork was rare, the cheese spatzle was burnt and the worst kaiserschmarren I've ever eaten in Bavaria. I would never go back.

Found by chance during a day in Munich. The restaurant presents itself as classic Bavarian, the same goes for the dishes and the environment. All in all a positive experience: excellent food, impeccable dessert, quite large portions. The plating of the daily menu is also particular; we opted for a Schnitzel, a fish dish and a chicken breast fillet with Spätzle, truly delicious. The only downside is the toilet: it needs to be looked at again. For the rest, a suitable place and recommended for families.

We liked this quiet and fairly discreet traditional restaurant, but rather well decorated. The service is fast and the cuisine generous. You just have to get used to the fact that a glass of water costs more than half of a good goulash, but overall the prices are quite reasonable.

Conclusion: Despite the inexpensive and ok food, it is absolutely not worth a second visit, especially not with the polite but otherwise completely disorganized staff. Pros: + Price was absolutely fine + Ambience/decor was nice + Food was ok, but nothing particularly good either. Cons: - It started when there was a dirty napkin on my table when I arrived and it wasn't cleared away either - Apparently it's just a matter of feeling. Therefore, I was served at least once by every waiter in the restaurant and had to place my drink order a total of 3 times - Both me and several other tables were brought incorrect drinks and dishes - When I asked when I ordered, I was assured that the roast pork would be ready in 5 minutes. Unfortunately, after 20 minutes there was still no food on the table and it took several looks at the staff and even getting up and asking for the food because... - no one else proactively served it - I don't know if this is normal, but the crust of the roast pork that was just on top was so hard that even after picking it up and trying to bite it off, you couldn't get it apart

the restaurant had an agreement with our hotel, a soup kitchen experience, poor food in an unwelcoming, chaotic place and there is no air exchange. The only saving grace is the service.

Il cibo è spaventoso, personalmente non riuscivo neanche a masticarlo. Esperienza paurosa: ad una ragazza celiaca era stato servito un piatto, i camerieri hanno affermato che non contenesse glutine ma purtroppo la ragazza ha passato la notte a vomitare in ospedale. Altra esperienza: arriva un piatto misterioso, anche chiedendo ai camerieri il dubbio permane dato che nemmeno loro sapessero di che cosa si trattasse.

Ristorante decisamente da evitare. Il cibo oscilla tra mediocre e commestibile con difficoltà, molto di quello che viene servito é evidentemente congelato e/o precotto, le birre sono accettabili ma il prezzo varia tra con e senza tasse, se in contanti fanno pagare 4,50€, prezzo che sale a 10€ se si paga con carta, dal momento che pagando in contanti non viene fatto lo scontrino. Il servizio é decisamente la parte peggiore, i camerieri sono scontrosi e conoscono poco se non nulla di inglese, ciò rende difficile comunicare, a tal punto che non hanno idea di cosa servono, alla domanda di una nostra amica celiaca sulla presenza o meno di glutine nel piatto hanno assicurato "no gluten", la stessa ragazza purtroppo si è poi sentita male e ha dovuto passare buona parte della notte in ospedale. Riassumendo: cucina molto sub-par e servizio inaccettabile.

Very nice atmosphere. If you want a little more peace and quiet while eating, this is the right place for you. The waiter was also very nice and accommodating. I had the onion roast, which unfortunately didn't meet my expectations (the meat was tough and I would have imagined the fried onions freshly fried in the pan and not the crispy, ready-made fried onions). My partner had a schnitzel which tasted very good and is absolutely recommended. From a price point of view, all dishes are also within the range. All in all, we can recommend the food, drinks and staying here.

We were in Munich for several days on a long weekend and were looking for a restaurant at 9 p.m. and came across this place. The waitress is more concerned with their own cell phones than with the service. The food tasted like old fat and left a bland and long aftertaste. The ambience was simple and deserved 2 stars. The atmosphere could be compared to that of church; whispering and quiet conversations were more appropriate. To crown the story, a mouse came from near the kitchen and came within 2 meters of us until the mouse was scared away by a loud scream. We were happy to be out of the store after about 30 minutes and went home with a strange feeling in our stomachs.

I celebrated my 60th birthday in the wine bar. The innkeeper, Mr. Januzi, gave me very competent and detailed advice right from the start, helped me with everything and gave me the security that the big festival would go well. And so it was! Mr. Januzi responded to my many special requests and made them possible. We had enough space to dance the ceilidh, the food was great, the service men were courteous and always there. All my guests were absolutely happy. Motto of the evening: “That’s where the bear dances” completely achieved! Many thanks and big praise to the service and kitchen team!

Amazing that this restaurant does not have more customers. The food was delicious and the server was attentive. First time trying a bread soup and I can say that it is now one of my favorite soups. Make sure to stop by if your in the area. I highly recommend it.

Off the beaten track. I cannot stand crowded loud places, But this place, is just perfect , awesome for me because we could hold a conversations, we saw couple of office lunch patrons , this place had ample of spaces so that we are know elbow jabbing anyone . The food had exceeded our expectations got some on—the-house pretzels . The main courses dishes were Super yummy , Schnitzel was tender and tasty, generous sizes the Super crispy roast pork and swimming in gold , tip : the snack size isn’t snack - it’s a meal ! We ordered Leberkase for the snack, we could not have dinner today . But we will be coming back.

We found this restaurant on the first night of our long weekend in Munich. We enjoyed it so much, we returned for a second visit and were not disappointed. The food was traditional German dishes and our party of six shared most of the popular dishes and all of which hit the high standards we expected. We particularly enjoyed the service we got from all the waiting staff. Every meal served with a smile and little joke. Thank you for making our stay memorable.

The staff are so very friendly and the food, especially for the price, the highlight out of the meals eaten in Munich. We enjoyed so much the first night we came back again two evenings later! Would highly recommend. Dankeschöne to all the staff!

I had a lovely, well-priced meal here. Very close to the hotel I stayed at, an excellent location. Obviously a regular clientele, which made for a nice, relaxed vibe. Staff were friendly and the food was delicious. Would highly recommend for an easy, no-fuss option.
