Every time we are on the North Sea coast near Schillig, we visit the Waterkant. We have always been very satisfied with the food and service. It may not be a gourmet restaurant for many, but for us it's always something that comes with a visit to the coast.

Modernly furnished restaurant. Very good cuisine, mainly fish. Service is fast, reliable and friendly. We recommend.

Modern furnished. Nice staff, very attentive. June 30: Pork fillet with champion cream sauce and spaetzle. In the truest sense of the word: delicious. First I had a tomato soup. Lightly peppered with whipped cream. It was yummy too. Gladly again.

Very friendly service and good food, had the fish pan Deichgröfin and the cod fillet. You could even park nearby with a parking disc without paying any fees.

Rich menu, very good Smutje, well-tapped Jever beer and professional staff. The Waterkant is one of my must-dos every time I visit Wangerland.

Always very satisfied. Come here every year and have never been disappointed. We only eat fish dishes, they are always top! 😃

The food was good and came quickly. The staff was very listless and unfriendly. Appetizer plates were left standing, no glasses were cleared away and no one even asked if you needed anything else. We won't come anymore.

Food was very tasty, prices were on the higher side, but that's okay. You can tell that the food is freshly prepared with regional ingredients. The service is first class and attentive.

Modern, very well maintained and clean restaurant. The staff friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately we can't judge the food. But the food on the other guests' plates looked plentiful and very tasty. Next time we visit we will definitely eat something there too😉 I would recommend a visit!!

During our North Sea holiday we spent a day in Horumersiel and spontaneously/without reservation went out to eat at Waterkant with 7 adults and 2 (small) children in rainy weather, which wasn't a problem as there were enough free tables. The two strollers had space on the terrace. The service was extremely attentive, participated and was very friendly. The menu offers something for everyone, but the fish dishes particularly stood out. Special requests were also responded to flexibly (changes in side dishes, etc.). There are also small portions for many dishes. We all enjoyed the food very much, the portions were generous and the side salad was large. All in all, it was a very nice and tasty visit to the restaurant! We will definitely come back next time we visit Horumersiel, thank you very much!

More than disappointed today! We go there several times on every vacation. Today we ordered 2x Klabaudermann schnitzel with fries. The schnitzels today had a lot of cartilage. The ponmes were so hard that you couldn't spear them with a fork. Of course, we politely reported the problem to the waiter, but the only response we got was “we were looking for another supplier for the fries”. For a dish that costs €21.20 per person, I am now very disappointed, and of course also about the reaction!

We went there on a recommendation and were very satisfied. We really liked the service, the food and the ambience.

Very good fish dishes and great service

The staff is very child-friendly, courteous and well organized. The dishes are extremely tasty. You can sometimes choose between a small and a normal portion. Cozy restaurant in a good location with very well prepared fish dishes that we really enjoyed. The dishes were also beautifully presented. However, the waiting times were sometimes a little longer, for example until we were seated and then several minutes passed until we received the menus. The waiters also seemed a bit distant to us. Apart from this, we were satisfied.

Acted very annoyed because there was no reservation. Didn't immediately feel welcome. Children were also a thorn in their side. A pity. Not here anymore...

Wir waren in unserer Ferienwoche 4 x zum Essen und waren jedesmal begeistert. Aufmerksamer Service, nettes Ambiente und eine sehr umfängliche Speisekarte machen jeden Besuch zu einem Erlebnis

We visited here for the first time about 3 weeks ago with our 2 small children. The food was very good and the staff was also very friendly. We didn't know in advance what there was to eat for the kids and we were pleasantly surprised. There were not only a few children's dishes, but also their own children's menu to color on, including pens and a suitable base. Children are happy and so are we parents. We all enjoyed the food too. We were very satisfied.

We have rarely visited such a child-friendly restaurant. The selection of meals for the little ones is outstanding; even a small dessert is included in the price of every children's meal. Our dishes were also excellent, the service was quick and always friendly.

On Maundy Thursday we were looking for a restaurant that still had room for 6 people...nothing to do. The Waterkant restaurant was also very fully booked, but they very kindly offered me a chat between 5:45 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. max. We originally wanted 6:00 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. but the friendly gentleman on the phone noticed the booking pressure and, with Nordic charm, he haggled for 5:45 p.m. We were there at 5:40 p.m. because he was so accommodating (table with raised seating for our grandparents). It's great to still have this friendliness and relaxation in such a stressful situation! The atmosphere is so cozy, almost like a living room atmosphere, and at the same time clean and very detailed! You feel really comfortable straight away! The food: We ordered 6 dishes from giant curry sausage to schnitzel to fish platters... I'll keep it short: "Order what you want, you're always right!" The food was incredibly tasty and extremely high quality! Six people aged 11 to pensioners were very enthusiastic and raved about it for a long time into the evening! The service was also perfect and, despite the restaurant being fully booked, very patient when our daughter couldn't decide what she wanted to eat. Unintentional stress test passed 100%....Thanks and sorry for that☺️ The cappuccino at the end was also world class... What can you say?! I give 5 stars in all categories with warm-hearted benevolence! When we are here again, we would love to eat here again! Thank you for the lovely evening

Very nice restaurant. Food came quickly and was of very good quality. Our meals were accompanied by a delicious starter salad. The service was very attentive and friendly. We were here with regular guests with whom we would like to come here again.

Excellent food in a lovely atmosphere. When it comes to eating, it is really important to ensure that all components of the meal are prepared to the same high standard. We had 1x the fish fillet plate with parsley potatoes and side salad and 2x the dyke lamb. We would have liked to come back for dinner two days later, unfortunately it was already company holidays.

We went there for dinner twice during our vacation in November. We were warmly welcomed. The rooms are tastefully decorated. The food was very tasty. And the staff was very friendly. Some dishes even offer smaller portions, which I think is good. We will come again on our summer vacation.

Very nice restaurant with a modern maritime atmosphere and varied cuisine. I often go on vacation to Horumersiel and eat here regularly. So far all the dishes I have tried have been very tasty, but the fish dishes are particularly recommended. The staff is also consistently very friendly and accommodating (even when there are a lot of guests). Thank you for a very pleasant evening. 🙂However, it makes sense to reserve in advance in order to actually get a place. I will come again on my next vacation. Many. Big ones from Dortmund.

We enjoyed eating there every year on vacation. We always sat outside because the weather was nice. Now in November we wanted to eat inside. Since we have 2 small dogs, they said only 1 dog was allowed per table. I thought it was a joke but unfortunately it wasn't. Of course we left again. I've never heard anything like that anywhere before. How dog-unfriendly is that, I have no words for it and after 4 p.m. only 1 table was occupied by 2 people with a larger dog, all the other tables were free anyway. It's a shame, but we definitely won't be eating there again on our future vacations. There you are only tolerated outside at the tables with 2 dogs. Sad... that's why only 3 stars...

Hier haben wir bei unserem Urlaub in Horumersiel am besten gegessen. (Es war allerdings in keinem Restaurant schlecht...). Die Kinderkarte bietet auch eine abwechslungsreiche Auswahl.

Was mir nicht gefallen hat, vom Geruch her saß man in der Küche. Ansonsten hat uns das alles gut gefallen

Ein nettes Speiselokal bei dem man allerdings reservieren muss und man hat in der Regel wohl 90 Minuten zum Essen, es ist halt ein reines Speiselokal. Das Essen war gut und meine Frau und ich haben das Essen Zeitgleich bekommen und das warm, da spricht für eine gute organisierte Küche. Das Essen selber war sehr gut und die Bedienung freundlich und zurückhaltend. Das Lokal ist barrierefrei, was die Toilette angeht da kann ich leider nichts zu sagen ich habe diese nicht genutzt. Die Preise sind in meinen angemessen.

Das Essen, insbesondere die Fischgerichte sind einfach sehr, sehr lecker und reichlich. Wenn wir aus dem Pott nach Horumersiel kommen, ist ein Besuch in der Waterkant einfach Pflicht. Dem Personal gilt ein besonderer Dank für Sachkundigkeit und Freundlichkeit.

Das Essen war sehr lecker die Bedienung war freundlich ,Preise sind völlig in Ordnung

Perfektes leckeres Essen. Sehr aufmerksame Bedienungen. Wir hätten uns dennoch gewünscht, mit einem 6 Monate alten Baby an einem der drei freien Tische im Restaurant Platz nehmen zu dürfen, anstatt bei Nieselwetter mit Wind im Außenbereich. Trotzdem vielen Dank!!

Die Waterkant ist für uns seit Jahren die Anlaufstelle in Horumersiel. Das Essen ist gleichbleibend lecker und frisch egal ob Fleisch oder Fisch. Der Service sehr nett und freundlich. Hier hat man das Gefühl nach Hause zu kommen.

Waren nur im Außenbereich, deshalb Bewertung auch nur für diesen Bereich.

Man muss reservieren und das hat wohl auch seinen Grund: In jeder Hinsicht 5 Sterne - Ambiente, das Auftreten und die Kleidung des Service, die Getränke, und natürlich das Essen, alles Bestnote! Wir waren mit 4 Personen, alle stehen auch selbst oft zu Hause in der Küche, daher wissen wir wie gutes Essen sein muss. Hatten verschiedene Gerichte (Fisch/Fleisch) und es war alles top, jede Zutat und jede Beilage👍🏻👏🏻

Wir sind dort durch Zufall mit den Rädern gestrandet und waren nach dem Essen rundum glücklich und gestärkt. Das Essen war wirklich sehr lecker und alles frisch zubereitet und die Soße zum Fisch ohne Hexenküche. Personal sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Selbst der Espresso war der Hit!

Wir waren zu zweit im Waterkant und waren sehr zufrieden mit der Qualität der Speisen und dem freundlichen Personal. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Leckeres Essen. Freundliches Personal 👍

Die Fischplatte war ein Traum. Genauso stellt man sich das an der Nordsee vor. Auch der Kellner mit seinem platten norddeutschen Humor war töfte.

Wir hatten mal Lust auf Krabben. Wir würden nicht enttäuscht. Auch die Bratkartoffeln waren super lecker.

Sehr netter Service, aufmerksam, Späßchen hier und da. Essen 2x Fisch 1xFleisch, alles super Qualität. Preis passt zur Menge und zur Qualität.

Schon als ich ein Kind war, kam ich hierher und habe damals noch die Kinderkarte ausgemalt. Damals so wie heute komme ich gerne her und genieße die Atmosphäre. Das Essen, das wir bestellt haben, war wirklich lecker da kann man nichts sagen. Das einzige Problem, was Menschen wie wir haben können, liegt im Angebot an vegetarischen Gerichten. Vegan gibt es maximal 1 (da bin ich mir nicht sicher, ob es tatsächlich vegan ist). Die Auswahl ist klein, aber dennoch gegeben. Ich beschuldige allerdings nicht das Restaurant, wahrscheinlich ist so etwas in kleinen Orten noch nicht so stark gefragt.

2 x waren wir zum Abendessen hier, beim ersten Mal war alles OK alleine der Beilagensalat eine Wucht, das Fischgericht meiner Partnerin war super, mein Schweine Rückensteak, hingegen tot gebraten. Das 2. Abendessen war eine Katastrophe vom Geschmack und der Bekömmlichkeit her. Insbesondere die Saucen betreffend. Der Laden ist nicht gerade der billigsten einer.

Es war unser erstes Restaurant hier in Horumersiel. Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen. Das Essen war gut, der Wein auch.

Hier gibt es nichts zu mäkeln. Frischer, sehr leckerer Fisch, nicht fettige sondern knusprige Panade und sogar extra Bratensoßen zu den Kartoffeln (Bratkartoffeln wurden vom Kind abgewählt). Aufmerksamer und netter Service. Alles sauber und ansprechend eingerichtet. Ruhiger Wintergarten auf der Rückseite des Hauses. Hunde sind geduldet und erwünscht.

Wir haben ohne Reservierung noch kurzfristig einen Tisch im Außenbereich bekommen. Insgesamt ist das Restaurant sehr gepflegt und modern eingerichtet. Dem Kind wurde eine Speisekarte nebst Malstiften gereicht, was wir als sehr zuvorkommend empfanden. Auch würden ihm zwei Decken gegeben, damit es höher am Tisch platziert ist. Sehr aufmerksam, wie ich fand. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich, das Essen kam zügig und war lecker. Die Nachspeise (Rote Grütze) ist ebenfalls sehr zu empfehlen. Zu jedem Kindermenü gibt es eine Kugel Eis dazu, auch das finde ich sehr aufmerksam. Alles in allem ein gelungener Besuch und eine klare Empfehlung.

Sehr netter Service! Das Essen war wirklich gut und obwohl ich eigentlich keinen Fisch esse hat mich die Scholle meiner Frau derart angesprochen, dass wir am nächsten Tag gleich wieder hin sind und ich Scholle genommen habe. Zu 100% zu empfehlen.

Wir haben das Waterkant heute als Ausweichmöglichkeit besucht, da in dem anderen Lokal die Küchenzeiten erst ab 17.30 Uhr waren. Es gab frische Muscheln ( sehr ordentliche Portion !!! ), Wangerländer Pannfisch ( ebenfalls eine sehr ordentliche Portion !!! ) und eine Riesencurrywurst. Der Name beschreibt auch hier die Größe. Alles war sehr schön angerichtet, auch der Salat zum Pannfisch war super Frisch. Die Kellner sehr freundlich und auf Zack. Ein rundum gelungener Besuch. Achtung, die Öffnungszeiten und die Küchenzeiten sind unterschiedlich

einfach gut. Perfekter Service, hervorragende Karte, Preis- Leistungsverhältnis angemessen und geschmeckt hat es auch. Sehr empfehlenswert.

Das Waterkant befindet sich gut gelegen im Ortskern. Es ist gemütlich eingerichtet und die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Essen war sehr lecker und qualitativ top. Hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Ebenfalls klasse fand ich den "Eiscapuccino", eine Kugel Eis mit heißem Espresso in einer Tasse als Nachtisch. Eher klein, aber lecker. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Wir waren des öfteren ins Waterkant Essen. Die Bedienung waren immer sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Essen, wir haben immer Fisch gegessen, war sehr lecker. Die Zutaten waren immer frisch zubereitet. Alles in allem können wir das Restaurant bestens weiterempfehlen. Sollten wir wieder nach Horumersiel kommen, werden wir wieder ins Waterkant zum Essen gehen.
