A very nice, fine-dining restaurant. If you don't want to eat cheap, breaded fish, but rather real fish, this is the place for you. I'm happy to pay a little more for a nice ambiance and quality. Very friendly staff and not pushy, like in other restaurants. All in all, it was a very nice evening.

We went there for lunch and were very satisfied. Both the food and the staff were excellent. I particularly liked how child-friendly the service was. The kids' menu is also great!

The food is delicious, I tried new dishes, the atmosphere is calm and clean, and there are requests for children.

Very nice ambiance, but the food was considerably better last year! The salad plates looked like they had been prepared several hours ago, with barely any dressing. The schnitzel was nice and crispy on the outside, but overcooked on the inside, as was the pan-fried fish, unfortunately. The fried potatoes were too salty. After we reported this, we were "avoided" until we paid. The waitress should also be able to remember two drinks—otherwise, they'll give you a slip of paper. For the price, we expected better, and we will avoid the Waterkant in the future.

Great restaurant with a heated outdoor terrace. Very dog-friendly. The food is good value for money. The waiters are always friendly and extremely attentive. The food is prepared quickly. All in all, a very good restaurant that you can visit regularly.

We spontaneously stopped by Waterkant today. We sat outside with our dog. We received a very warm welcome and were served fairly quickly. We had rump steak (medium rare), cooked to perfection, and the Klabautermann plate (schnitzel with fried potatoes and mixed vegetables with hollandaise sauce). Both were truly delicious. The service was excellent. We highly recommend this restaurant.

We were there today with two people. As walk-ins around lunchtime. Food: The food was truly delicious and the portions were very large. Service: Fast, extremely friendly, and cheerful. Waiting time: The food was prepared very quickly, taking a maximum of 15 minutes. The main courses arrived about 10 minutes later. Highly recommended. P.S. The salad dressing was absolutely delicious and is even sold in the restaurant. Also highly recommended.

The food was unseasoned and very bland. The soup was lukewarm. We were there late, so the kitchen probably wanted to finish work quickly. The service seemed fake-friendly. We didn't really feel comfortable.

Once again, I'm ABSOLUTELY thrilled with the service a guest could only wish for! They clearly train young staff here, and the quality of the food was, for me personally, top-notch. We asked for mussels, and they were prepared and served for us a week later... With a callback, etc. = simply world-class Maybe make a reservation in advance, because others also know what's good 👍

On our last day of vacation, five of us (three adults, one child, and a teenager) went there for lunch. It's a shame we didn't discover the restaurant sooner, as this was our fifth visit to the area. All of us adults ordered the fillet pan with plenty of vegetables and fried potatoes. Even the "smaller" portion was still plenty for us. The food was delicious. There was a separate children's menu for the kids with 10 (!) different dishes to choose from. I've never experienced such a large selection. And every children's meal comes with a scoop of ice cream for dessert. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere pleasant. We highly recommend the Waterkant restaurant.

Very tasty food and quick service

Food just as you'd expect on vacation! Delicious, delicious, delicious! The giant currywurst was huge. The plaice fillet cordon bleu was incredibly delicious!! The service was also very friendly and attentive.

Super delicious food and very attentive and friendly service staff. We felt very comfortable and will definitely be back on our next vacation. It was simply delicious. I would also like to highlight something that isn't a given these days. Special attention is paid to children. Each child, including our two, receives their own children's menu and colored pencils to color in the motifs printed on it. Furthermore, each child receives a scoop of ice cream for dessert with their children's menu, something I've never seen before. The only drawback I have to mention is that unfortunately, you can't park in front of the restaurant, or only with a lot of luck. However, we did have a nice stroll to help digest it 🤣 Thank you for this lovely evening.

Even under new management, this restaurant has remained by far our number 1 in Horumersiel for many years. With consistently high-quality service, drinks, and delicious dishes, this restaurant in Horumersiel can't be topped by any other.

We went to Waterkant twice because we enjoyed it so much the first time. We had five meals each, and all of them were of excellent quality and taste. The ambiance was very nice and the service was very friendly. Highly recommended!

Hi, we've been going to Horumersiel/Schillig for almost 15 years now and regularly visit the Waterkant. The ownership changed at the beginning of the year. We were very excited to see if and what had changed. The ambience hasn't changed; it's as inviting and beautifully decorated as ever. The service is still very professional, friendly, and always courteous. There have been a few small changes to the menu, but this is more for the better than for the worse. Seasonal products like chanterelles have been added to the menu. We also offer a variety of delicious desserts. But the well-known dishes like Wangerländer Pannfisch etc. are still on the menu and have even been slightly refined. The homemade dressing on the side salad is amazing. My summary: I still enjoy going to the Waterkant. The price-performance ratio is good, the staff are courteous and professional, and the food is always top-notch. We love you ❤️❤️ keep it up.

Very nice ambience and friendly staff. We went for dinner and had three different dishes. Schnitzel with fried potatoes and salad. Fish with fried potatoes and salad. Pork liver with onions and boiled potatoes. The salads were very good. The fried potatoes came with bacon, which should have been stated on the menu. The fish was good, but the schnitzel tasted a bit fishy. The pork liver was very bloody in the thick parts; I can eat it as is, but it should have been cooked through. The boiled potatoes were round, like they came from a jar, and tasted that way, too. When we were paying, the lady of the house came over, and since our tip wasn't that generous, her friendliness suddenly disappeared. Only afterward, at home, did we gather and write our impressions. Three stars for the friendly staff and the ambience.

The two of us ate at the restaurant three times in the last week. The food was of excellent quality every day. Fish and chips, fish and fried potatoes, and schnitzel and chips. The homemade remoulade is also highly recommended. A delicious salad with the meal and the coffee afterward rounded out the lunch. The whole experience was super sweet and friendly!

By far clean, friendly and high level of quality on site

We spontaneously stopped by on a Sunday afternoon. We were there with 5 adults and 2 children. The food was good, although for the high prices I would have expected more (than bottled mayo, for example). We all enjoyed the food, though. The staff was only partially helpful in choosing our food, as they didn't know whether and which fish was caught from the German North Sea. They only gave a vague reference to the fact that Norwegian pollock also comes from the North Sea. Oh well. Ultimately, it was nice there, but for us, it was a one-time visit.

We ate there today. Everyone was super friendly and attentive, especially the younger staff. The food was great and everything was perfect. We'll definitely be back.

My husband's walker was supposed to be parked several meters away from the restroom. But without it, he can't take a single step. He feels very discriminated against. We left the place immediately. Seniors with disabilities are apparently not welcome. Perhaps walkers spoil the "classy ambiance"?

Update: I've been back to Horumersiel for the first time since the change of ownership, and of course also to the Waterkant restaurant. The change hasn't hurt in any way. The food is still excellent, and the staff also ensure a very pleasant stay. My only small wish would be to serve the sauce for the Wangerländer Pannfisch separately in the future, so you can measure it yourself. It's delicious, but I found the fish was somewhat overshadowed by the amount of sauce. Very nice restaurant with a modern maritime ambiance and varied cuisine. I often vacation in Horumersiel and eat here regularly. So far, all the dishes I've tried have been delicious, but the fish dishes are especially recommended. The staff are also consistently very friendly and accommodating (even when the crowds are busy). Thank you for some very pleasant evenings. 🙂 However, it's advisable to make a reservation in advance to ensure a table. I will be back on my next vacation. Many greetings from Dortmund.

We had similar dishes that we've eaten at other restaurants. Unfortunately, the food was considerably worse in direct comparison. -More expensive than at other restaurants -The asparagus heads were almost blooming -The hollandaise sauce came from a tetra pack -The asparagus portion was smaller All in all, I have to say we were a bit disappointed.

The ambiance is really nice, a bit more in keeping with the expensive restaurant tropes. The food itself is a bit pricey (maybe because fish is expensive these days), but the quality could have been better. The fries were way too salty, and some dishes had unnecessary bacon. However, this is my subjective opinion.

Awesome restaurant. Totally geared toward mother-child retreats. There are menus for the kids to color in. They even provide pens. They're very nice and understanding.

The price/performance ratio is right. The staff is friendly and helpful. However, the speed of service and the restaurant's decor are reminiscent of a cafeteria.

The best restaurant in a long time. I haven't eaten such perfectly prepared plaice in ages. The fresh, delicious salad, the fried potatoes, the service and the ambience round off this wonderful evening.

The weather was good, so we sat outside and ate delicious fish... and the fried potatoes were just right... golden, not too greasy... the salad was fresh, also with a delicious dressing... we were completely full and... satisfied.... The service person seemed abrupt and annoyed. That was my impression... that was a shame...

I can't complain about the food. But the service wasn't good, we're not used to that in Horumersiel.

Leider kann ich nur einen Punkt geben. Beim betreten des Lokals war es relativ kalt. Am Tisch zog es, als wenn eine Lüftung an wäre. Nach meinem Nachfragen wurde barsch geantwortet..Es ist alles abgestellt 😕… die Freundlichkeit ließ sehr zu wünschen übrig und das Preisleistungsverhältnis stimmte absolut nicht. Gut dass es in dem Ort Ausweichmöglichkeiten gibt.

The four of us had a delicious meal in a living room atmosphere. The service is at the top level. The trainee in particular did a very good job. Very nice, polite and accommodating. Gluten intolerance has also been taken into account! We recommend and would be happy to come back!

Basically a very nice restaurant that is definitely worth a visit. Despite the high crowds on the weekend. It was spontaneously possible to get a place. The service was very friendly. What disappointed us a bit, however, was that requests for changes were not accepted and that we were not asked what level of cooking we would like for a €35 Argentine rump steak. That should definitely be expected. At the end it was still very slightly pink but it was pretty well done. That was a shame, hence the point deduction. What we found very nice, however, was the extensive wine list. There should definitely be something for everyone here.

We spontaneously went to Waterkant on a Friday afternoon (5 p.m.) and didn't have a reservation. We received a very friendly welcome and still got a table for two adults and two children for two hours. The restaurant is very child-friendly and had a suitable menu, children's menus and coloring pages with pens ready. The children were very happy. The menu has a very good selection and the food came quickly. We had the noble fish plate and a Funkenwerder-style plaice. The portions were large and everything was delicious. The children received a scoop of ice cream with their children's portion. The prices are not cheap, but justified. The service was really perfect. In the end, the restaurant was completely full and yet we never had to wait long and felt like we were being looked after the whole time. In addition, the restaurant is beautiful and cozy and furnished with great taste and attention to detail. You can really feel comfortable there. A clear recommendation from us!

We went there for dinner twice during our vacation in November. We were warmly welcomed. The rooms are tastefully decorated. The food was very tasty. And the staff was very friendly. Some dishes even offer smaller portions, which I think is good. We will come again on our summer vacation. Went there again this year for dinner. As always, everything was great👌 We have already reserved a table for the end of December 2024. Upgrade Went here again for dinner on our Christmas vacation in 2024. The food was great as always and the staff was very friendly as always. The price-performance ratio is good.
