Siggi´s Restaurant in Wangerland

Four of us ate there two days ago. The place smells very unpleasant. The service was very friendly but completely overwhelmed. We had schnitzel with fries. The fries were at best straight from the oven, hard on the edges and not yet cooked through in the middle. The schnitzel was beaten to death. The calamari was just a greasy circle of dough. The chef said it was up to us, his food would always taste good. You definitely won't see us again.

Food wasn't fresh. Two people tried the squid rings, cardboard would have been better. There was no fish to be tasted, rather flour and old frying fat if anything. Frozen stuff? No idea. After politely pointing this out, the waitress went to the boss, who claimed his food was always delicious and it was up to us. The price wasn't even reduced by a euro... it could have been done as a gesture of goodwill. Especially if the affected child leaves hungry. And hardly anyone disdains their own food. Absolutely not an acceptable statement for a guest. The others had schnitzel... freshly cut, unfortunately things are different here too. Ambience very old and cold. But that's a matter of opinion. The waitress gets the only stars here: she was nice and apologized to me for her boss's behavior... what felt like 1000 times. We're not coming anymore

Friendly, also something for the small budget Price-performance ratio is also right. Fresh and very tasty.

My girlfriend and I were there on Sunday and Tuesday evenings. We ate different fish dishes on both days and were absolutely thrilled every time. The fried potatoes are great and the fish was fantastic too. There were no complaints whatsoever. The soup of the day (cream of asparagus soup) was very tasty. The price-performance ratio was absolutely right. In short: I absolutely cannot share the bad reviews, I can highly recommend this restaurant.

Yesterday we ate at Siggi's Restaurant after our bike ride. From the outside the restaurant looked quite quaint. The prices were really cheap. Inside, the space in the old dining room was quite sparse. Of our group of 4, 3 took the Frisian plaice with fried potatoes and one had the Jäger/Champion schnitzel. The quality of the food couldn't convince any of us. Maybe we are wrong that the restaurant was busy from around 6 p.m....? The service staff was friendly and helpful.

We were there with 4 people. The fried fish was frozen goods out of the bag. The tartar sauce was out of the tube. In addition, the food was only served lukewarm. The staff seemed listless. Once and never again. Isn't worth the money.

The russe was super tasty. The waiter was very friendly and humorous. It's a shame that the outside terrace isn't comfortable... Still happy again

The store is absolutely not a highlight inside or out. The colors that come together are really crazy, the furnishings are a colorful mess of everything, but nothing fits together. So we didn't expect much from the food. The service, which is careful, friendly and fast, makes a big difference. And the food was unexpectedly delicious, no one had expected that. If something were done about the decor here, this store would probably be really great. In addition, card payments are not accepted, which is no longer appropriate these days.

The restaurant is a bit old, but the price was good. Service was friendly and a little shy at times. The food tasted delicious, except for the salad which had beans from the jar in it. It's just a matter of taste. The portions were OK.

Still good and cheap. Staff attentive, and good, still satisfied. Also satisfied in 2023+ and 2024

The restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside. The facility has been around for a few years and doesn't seem very inviting. Unfortunately, the restaurant smells a little "old", like that of seniors. During our visit, the waitress was very attentive, friendly and available for small talk. Dogs are allowed.

Nice service, delicious food and we didn't have to wait long. The ambience is maritime but is already a bit old. Even if some complain that the fish should be frozen, I prefer that to an old piece of fresh fish. The salad beforehand was very tasty. The sauce with the meal perhaps lacked any finishing touches, but on the whole we ate well. The prices are rather low in comparison!

It's a shame, but that was nothing. If you're hungry you shouldn't order a fish plate here. Am disappointed.

When we entered the "restaurant" we were greeted by an unpleasant smell. Unfortunately the meat was inedible and remained on the plates, it smelled musty and was lukewarm. The mushrooms for the “cream sauce” were canned. The mayo was not fresh but from the bag. The price-performance ratio was not right at all. In general, the restaurant is very old. We were very disappointed and think it's a shame for our vacation budget! :-(

We thought it would be a delicious fish restaurant with homemade delicacies, unfortunately our choice of food was frozen goods. But for the price you can't complain. But the fried potatoes were freshly made from boiled potatoes!

I was at Siggi's with my wife today. My wife had a schnitzel that didn't deserve the name.😔 The fries were okay. But the sauces, in our opinion, were out of a bag and rather weak in taste. To save my honor, I had fish and it was delicious! If you don't expect fine dining, the food is edible.

Friendly service, good food, reasonable prices. You can't ask for more when eating out on a budget. Return 05/24: Food still good. Price/performance ratio is right, please note that the schnitzel costs under 13 and the redfish costs under 20.

Fried redfish and pollack fillet with Bearnaise sauce, served with fried potatoes. Food musty - one of the two types of fish (I'm guessing redfish) was definitely no longer good. Smelled and tasted musty, inedible. Second type of fish, sauce and fried potatoes were very tasty. Service - initially overly cheerful, later after being informed that the fish might no longer be fresh, unfriendly and blaming the chef. There was no apology (which I expected), but I paid the full price (although I wasn't concerned about the price, but rather about subsequent restaurant visitors). Ambience - a little bit of everything. Very packed... a colorful mix of typical lake decoration, unconventional pictures, outdated furniture and many different shades of blue. It therefore seems very crowded and does not invite you to feel comfortable and relax. My conclusion: one-time visit without recommendation!

Good value for money and very child friendly

The food was very tasty and the service, friendly and reliable, after a short time the food was served, so guys, give this restaurant another chance, we'll be happy to come back and thank you very much!

We have felt very comfortable here. Nice atmosphere. Dog friendly. Food was very tasty, plentiful and cheap. During our 1 week holiday in Hooksiel we ate here almost every evening. Table should be reserved in advance. Employees were very friendly

If you like good home cooking, this is the place for you. Fair prices and cozy. I can't understand the bad reviews at all. Apparently people just go out to eat so they can complain 🤷‍♀️. Anyone who expects a 3 star rating here hasn't quite understood the point. All in all, I can only recommend it.

War heute zum ersten Mal in Siggi's Restaurant, klasse Essen, eine große Portion zu einem absolut fairen Preis. Die Bedienung war sehr nett und sehr hilfsbereit!! Es lief alles einwandfrei!! Ich kann es nur weiterempfehlen und komme gerne wieder!!

Home-style cooking, fair prices, friendly service

The waiters and waitress were both very friendly and gave us a table next to the play area (we were there with our three-year-old son). The food was very tasty and came to the table quickly.

Anyone who needs flavor enhancers is wrong here. Everything is fresh and homemade food. I can't understand some of the reviews, but there are complainers everywhere. I've always enjoyed it, whether it's fish or meat dishes. N.Lebuser

Preis /Leistung absolut korrekt. Die Bedienung super nett,wünscht man sich öfter so. Essen schmeckt sehr lecker,wir waren sehr zufrieden. Mit Sicherheit werden wir wieder kommen.

1x Fischgericht und 1x Schnitzelgericht gegessen. Beide Gerichte waren gut, Ambiente ein bisschen "altbacken" aber völlig in Ordnung. Jägerschnitzel mit Bratkartoffeln 12,60€ Zzgl. 1,50€ für Änderung von Pommes auf Bratkartoffeln. Beilagensalat 3,80€ Seelachs Kräuter mit Tomaten-Kräutersauce 13,20€ Zzgl. 1,50€ für Änderung von Salzkartoffeln auf Bratkartoffeln. 0,4 l Jever vom Fass 4,30€ 0,25 l Wasser 2,80€. Im großen und ganzen war es gut 👍

Das Essen war sehr lecker. Es ging super schnell und der Service ist sehr freundlich. So wie man sich ein Restaurant an der Nordsee vorstellt.

Wir hatten Hunger und haben diesen nette Lokal gefunden wirklich gutes Essen zu fairen Preisen sehr zu empfehlen sind die im Herbst angebotenen Grünkohlgerichte! Und zu erwähnen die haben für unsere Tochter extra Kartoffelbrei gemacht !

Kein Schickimicki dafür sehr gutes Essen und nette Bedienung. Nur warum Bratkartoffeln 1,50 € mehr kosten hat sich mir leider nicht erschlossen. Daher einen Stern weniger.

Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr höflich die Preise und das Essen war wieder gut. Jederzeit gerne wieder.

Wir waren hier im Urlaub essen. Das Essen war ok (Schnitzel mit Bratkartoffeln und Schweinesteak mit Pilzrahmsauce). Aber leider hat es uns nicht überzeugt. Ich hatte keinen einzigen ganzen Pilz in meiner Sauce und man sah Klumpen vom Anrühren. Geschmacklich war es ganz gut. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Die Einrichtung speziell auch für die kleinsten Gäste ist aber in die Jahre gekommen.

Kein Schicky Micky, dafür sehr moderate Preise, Essen ging ziemlich flott u war sehr lecker und ausreichend. Bedienung auch sehr nett. Kann man ruhigen Gewissen weiterempfehlen.

Moin, wenn man legga frischen Fisch braucht, dann geht man hier zum essen hin, ehrlich, authentisch, friesisch herb, wunschlos glücklich.
