Wasserfall - Bergcafé & Beizle in St. Blasien

Food was very good, also the price. Unfortunately it was very crowded and we had to wait 45 minutes for food. The service was very friendly.

When there was a sudden thunderstorm, we were even warmly welcomed inside with our dog and the very friendly innkeepers more than made us forget our frustration about the weather with their very cozy location. Thank you very much for that!

Super nice service - food really Black Forest. Great beer garden and very, very nice guest room. For the natural meat eaters there are game dishes. According to the innkeeper, the meat, be it stag or roe deer, etc. comes from the Menzenschwander Valley. This is all very sustainable. Many thanks to the entire team

My husband, my son and I had dinner at Bergcafé Wasserfall last weekend. The food, service and ambience were perfect! You feel welcome as soon as you walk in, the atmosphere is very familiar. Absolute heart recommendation!

A nice surprise. (April 2023) In the middle of our hike (we had planned the sandwiches) but we saw this restaurant and the effort whetted our appetite and made us forget the sandwiches. Very friendly welcome and people spoke French Local products, a very good meal in an original decor. We left satisfied and motivated

Restaurant &Hotel in the Black Forest. Pure nature. Fantastic place for hiking and trying typical food based on ragù and sausages. Very good quality-price. I don't add photos because we have eaten everything! Roe deer sausages, beef schnitzel, zucchini puree. The terrace is very pleasant. Thanks to the owners for their kindness

Very nice and refined restaurant, surrounded by greenery and just a few minutes from the town centre. The owner was kind and super helpful in speaking to us in English, translating the menu (in German only) and recommending typical dishes from the area. Interior of the refined venue, very beautiful.

I'm a bit torn about how best to rate this. The ambience is definitely great. Very nicely furnished dining room with great attention to detail. The landlord is also super friendly and has a few sayings on his lips. Very good! We were also served quickly. The food - well... It was tasty, but... My cordon bleu from the frozen food - otherwise the breading wouldn't have fallen off the way it did. At least it was a good frozen product. Fries were tasty and well seasoned. The cheese spaetzle is also a ready-made product (i.e. the spaetzle) which is okay in itself, but as a tip to the cook - it's better to use knöpfle - they fit better 😉 Unfortunately, the salad was already soggy and served with way too much over-seasoned dressing. Price performance - well, quite expensive for what is on offer. It would be better to take another euro or two and use fresh products. The inn definitely has the potential to become a real insider tip, as it is located a little outside the town.

Nice restaurant with a beer garden to linger. Had Menzenschwander goat sausages with Brägele, very tasty. Cake (average) and good coffee. Will come back 😉

We were there at lunchtime after hiking. The service was great and the atmosphere was very inviting. We decided to eat here in the evening and it was so delicious that even our kids ate everything. The Wiener Schnitzel and the goat cheese salad were incredibly tasty. Cocktails and dessert too. 100% recommendation ❤️

Fantastic location in close proximity to the waterfall and wonderful service. The furnishings are high quality and very attractive. Unfortunately, we didn't like the food so much: cheese spaetzle wasn't anything special, we didn't really taste the cheese and the porcini mushroom dumplings were a bit too dry.

What a discovery, great service, very friendly, typical dishes with a more modern twist. Lovely terrace, beautiful, fresh interior inside. Perfect lunch address during the walk to the waterfall (goat path).

Schnitzel was frozen and tasted very much like fat that was no longer fresh. Fries were good.

A great restaurant with decor that absolutely suits the region! We've been there twice so far (2023 and yesterday) and the food is really delicious! The service is great, you don't have to wait long and the owner is very personable. At the end there was a regional specialty as a nightcap. There are also plenty of parking spaces available. We will be back definitely!

Beautifully located restaurant, perfect place to rest after a hike in the immediate area. The restaurant looks inviting and cozy. It is run by the family and seems very warm. Dogs and children are also very welcome. We'd love to come back.

We were there 3 times within 2 days - once after a hike at lunchtime for a drink and a snack board, once for dinner and then again for lunch with a small portion of cheese spaetzle and a salad plate. Everything was very good, but dinner exceeded it. I had a perfect veal schnitzel. The breading was incredibly fluffy and at the same time very crispy, well seasoned, a real dream for me. The owners are also very nice, the atmosphere is very nice and cozy. In the summer, the outdoor terrace is certainly a great place to linger, the backdrop is fantastic. I hope to see you again, thank you for the great time!

Since the Retz family took over the restaurant, I can only recommend it. We have been coming to the holiday apartment for over 6 years and they have been doing the catering since last year. Great and extensive offer. Nice atmosphere, friendly hosts. Price performance tip top! No problems with a dog. It was a pleasure.

Had dinner there last Sunday. It was a really great stay. Food was great and price/performance was totally right. Service is quick and very friendly. We will be back.

We went there spontaneously for an afternoon coffee. I was unpleasantly surprised at the high price level. Drinks and food prices are well above the average for South Baden gastronomy. However, we really liked the atmosphere and the summer beer garden is recommended. The access to the waterfall is currently somewhat difficult due to recently completed asphalting, as it is only one lane over an estimated length of 800 m.

The Wasserfall restaurant offers delicious regional cuisine for young and old at very fair prices. With Maultaschen in a wide variety of variations, snack platters, or freshly prepared pork and veal schnitzels, everyone will surely find what they are looking for. There are even delicious vegan Maultaschen. Well-stocked wine lists are also available for the right wine accompaniment. You can also stop here for a warming coffee, and home-made cakes and tarts are also available. I can highly recommend a visit.

Tolle Atmosphäre und herausragender Service. Waren Anfang Oktober zum ersten Mal am Bergcafé und werden definitiv immer wieder kommen! Absoluter Geheimtipp: Das Wiener Schnitzel!

Sehr idyllisches Lokal. Die Gaststätte liegt direkt am Wasserfall. Es gibt einen schönen Biergarten, einen Spielplatz für Kinder und Parkplätze sind auch vorhanden. Das Essen hat gut geschmeckt. Wir hatten Zwiebelkuchen und Federweißer und beide waren hervorragend. Ich würde gerne nochmal kommen.

Wir waren eine Woche im Urlaub im wunderschönen Menzenschwand und haben den „Wasserfall“ zum Glück recht früh entdeckt. Uns hat das außergewöhnliche Ambiente und die herzliche Gastfreundschaft auf Anhieb gut gefallen so dass wir gleich mehrfach hier zu Abend gegessen haben. Die Küche ist „gut bürgerlich“ und einfach perfekt nach einer langen Wanderung in dieser malerischen Umgebung. Das Preis-/ Leistungsverhältnis ist absolut fair 👍🏻 Der Biergarten, der große Kinder-Spielplatz, der kleine Bach nebenan und nicht zuletzt die Menzenschwander Wasserfälle sind neben dem leckeren Essen gute Argumente wieder einmal vorbei zu schauen falls wir in der Nähe sind.

Gaststätte liegt sehr idyllisch. Qualität der Getränke sowie vom Essen stimmt. Grundsätzlich alles super wenn nur dieser Chef nicht wäre. Er hat eine wirklich sehr unangenehme und unsympathische Art an sich. Kunde ist definitiv nicht König. Das haben wir dieses Jahr nun schon zum zweiten Mal verspürt.

Trotz vielen Gästen am 1. Oktober professionelle und freundliche Bedienung. Toller Biergarten mit gepflegten Ambiente. Essensportionen genügend, incl. Kinderschnitzel. Gerne wieder 👍

Das Ambiente ist herrlich. Drinnen sehr gemütlich. Der Service super freundlich. Das Essen auch sehr lecker. Nur waren die Schwarzwälder Bratwürste eher gebratene Schüblinge. Aber auch lecker. Wasserfall direkt nebenan. Parkplätze vorhanden. Liegt am Geißenpfad. Einkehr lohnt auf jeden Fall.

Die Gaststätte liegt perfekt und idyllisch direkt am Wasserfall. Es gibt einen schönen Biergarten und einen Spielplatz für Kinder. Dafür schon mal 2 Sterne. Leider mussten wir sehr lange auf das Essen warten. Das Personal hat auch sehr gestresst und überfordert gewirkt. Das Essen war gut aber die Portionen sind etwas klein. Preis-/ Leistung passt hier leider nicht so ganz.

Es geht schnell. Und Qualität ist ok. Aber Gastfreundschaft erlebt man hier in der Region woanders deutlich besser. Sätze wie " solche Diskussionen haben wir schon oft mit Gästen geführt" fand ich etwas schräg. Aber es ist sehr schön dort.

Sowohl draußen als auch drinnen alles sehr geschmackvoll und einladend eingerichtet. Freundlicher Service. Leckeres Essen. Sehr empfehlenswert.

Wir waren zwei mal zum Abendessen im Biergarten. Uns hat es sehr gut gefallen. Wir wurden schnell und freundlich bedient, das Essen war lecker und der Biergarten ist schön eingerichtet. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Sehr schöner Biergarten, lädt richtig ein dort einzukehren. Haben nur ein Radler getrunken leider hatten wir schon unser Abendbrot anders verplant, das Essen sah super lecker aus. Bedienung sehr freundlich und flott unterwegs. Sollten wir nochmals in die Nähe kommen weiß ich wo ich meine Brotzeit mache.

Wir waren wegen dem Wasserfall hier, aber es roch so gut. Da sind wir in die Gartenwirtschaft gegangen. Haben schon gesehen das es große Portionen sind. Mußten kämpfen das wir es gezwungen haben. War gutes und frisches Essen. Die Kellner sind sehr freundlich gewesen. Mußten nur kurz warten bis wir einen Tisch bekamen. Parken dirket vor der Gaststätte möglich. Wasserfall dirket dahinter. Zum empfehlen 👍

Genau das richtige auf der Wanderung von St. Blasien nach Feldberg Passhöhe (Albsteig). Hier gibt es leckeres Mittagessen, das erste Mal dass ich auch Mal was veganes auf der Speisekarte entdeckt hab während meiner Wanderung. Das Team war sehr freundlich und ließ einen nicht lange warten, auch wenn aufgrund des Brückentags guter Betrieb war.

Wunderschönes Café mit Wohlfühl-Atmosphäre. Es gibt auch einen schönen Biergarten. Waren zu Kaffee und Kuchen da. Der Kuchen war sehr lecker. Die Bedienung war sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Kann ich für einen Besuch auf jeden Fall empfehlen.

This place is a wonderful half-way point when doing the Menzenschwand Geißenpfad hike. Food and service were both excellent today.

Wunderschöne Gaststätte, super Bedienung und hervorragendes Essen. Das Restaurant war gut besucht, aber der Aussenberreich wegen des schlechten Wetters nicht besetzt. Das Essen kam sehr schnell und schmeckte hervorragende. Auch der Dessert war sehr gut. Wir kommen gerne nochmal.
