Absolut empfehlenswert - der Außenbereich ist super idyllisch. Das Essen ist top. Nach einem Ausflug zum Wasserfall eine tolle Einkehrmöglichkeit.

Tolles Ambiente, aber die Maultaschen haben noch Ausbaupotential (trocken und ohne Zwiebeln), der Salat dazu lecker. Insgesamt zu teuer für die Leistung!

Sehr zügige Abfertigung, innerhalb von 15 Minuten standen 4 Gerichte auf dem Tisch, lässt mich vermuten das mit der Schöpfkelle gearbeitet wird.Schnitzel hauchdünn, Käsespätzle lag sehr schwer im Magen. Geht bestimmt besser. Preislich aufgrund der Wasserfälle hinterm Haus sehr hochpreisig. Man muss ja nicht um Gäste kämpfen.

Sehr schöner Biergarten, leckere Speisen für jedermann, super schneller und netter Service, kann man nicht besser machen! Bis auf den Spielplatz, hier scheint allerdings im Moment einiges in der Planung bzw. im Bau zu sein.

Wir hatten einen rundum wunderbaren Aufenthalt und vergeben sehr gerne 5/5 Sterne! Das Essen war einfach fantastisch – viele hausgemachte Speisen, mit viel Liebe zubereitet und geschmacklich hervorragend. Besonders positiv hervorzuheben sind auch die veganen und vegetarischen Optionen, die in toller Qualität angeboten werden. Die Kuchen und Süßspeisen waren ebenfalls ein echtes Highlight – die Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte ist absolut zu empfehlen! Der Service war durchweg freundlich, zuvorkommend und sehr gastfreundlich. Alles wirkte bestens organisiert, mit schnellen Abläufen und einem reibungslosen Service. Auch die Location hat uns begeistert: ein wunderschöner Außenbereich mit herrlichem Blick in die Natur und einem Bach in Hörnähe – einfach idyllisch. Die Räumlichkeiten sind sauber, authentisch und gleichzeitig modern gestaltet. Die Tiere in der Umgebung sorgen zusätzlich für eine besondere Atmosphäre. Insgesamt eine tolle Location, die wir gerne weiterempfehlen!

Wir waren heute spontan da. Wir worden vom. Chef total lieb empfangen. Hund war willkommen. Das Lokal ist sehr schön eingerichtet. Das Essen hat super geschmeckt. Alles total schön. Macht weiter so. Wir kommen wieder.

Ein rundum tolles Erlebnis! Der Wirt war unglaublich freundlich und aufmerksam – meine Tochter war begeistert. Obwohl es unser erster Besuch war, fühlten wir uns sofort willkommen, fast wie Stammgäste. Das Essen war hochwertig und geschmacklich hervorragend. Klare Empfehlung, wir kommen wieder!

Also das Essen ist hier absolut Spitze haben vergessen bilder zu machen und nach 5min nachdem das Essen da war waren nur noch Reste zum Photographieren da. Darum nur text. Die Wirtin und der Wirt bedienen hier noch selber und kümmern sich herzlich um ihre gäste das Preis leistungsverhältnis ist super bei der Qualität. Wir hatten den gegrillten Ziegen käse zur Vorspeise. Und bekamen sofort noch 4 teller dazu damit jeder was abbekommt. Zur Hauptspeise Käsespätzle, Badisches schäufele und das Kalbsschnitzel für unsere beiden Töchter. Ich musste dann alles probieren😜 da es meinen 3 Damen alles zu viel war. 😁 Und ich muss sagen es war alles vorzüglich. Hoffe ihr probiert es auch wir kommen wieder. LG Frank

We had a wonderful visit to the Albhof! The excellent Ziegenbröger (a kind of goat's bread) was a highlight. The service was super friendly and attentive. We felt very comfortable. We highly recommend the Albhof and look forward to our next visit.

Unfriendly service, who dismissed the request for oat milk with "we have regular milk." The prices are outrageous—fries for €9. The location and ambiance are quite nice. You can come here for coffee and cake if you don't mind cow's milk.

We stopped at the Albhof for a drink outside by the waterfall after a four-hour hike. I highly recommend the ski water – a blend of raspberry syrup and mineral water. We were served relatively quickly and were also asked by the very friendly staff if we wanted something to eat, but we had to decline, as we were having dinner at our guesthouse. We would have loved to eat there after studying the menu and seeing what other guests were served. The value for money is top-notch, in my opinion. Very quiet location and sensational view. We'll be back. 👍👍👍👍👍

Delicious, fresh food and a cozy terrace with large parasols. The service was very friendly, and the food was served quickly, despite the high volume of guests. If we're in the area, we would definitely come back.

The place is lovely with such happy people. I never thought in such a small town people would be able to speak English which is so nice. We ordered waterfall salad with Trout, wurstsalat, German Maultaschen Dumplings, Schnitzel. Everything was tasty.

Today we ate for two. Schnitsel and sausage menu. I think the schnitsel came from the deep fryer, which I'm not so happy about. I thought the fries and potatoes were a bit small, and there were no raw vegetables. They did have one lettuce leaf and one tomato, which was a bit of a shame. The dessert was delicious. Friendly staff. The toilet was clean. The seating is very nice and it looks great. We sat outside and the gardener was mowing the lawn, which was a bit of a letdown, but it made a lot of noise.

A very beautiful location, especially if you can sit outside in the sun. You'll receive a very friendly welcome and excellent service. The food and drinks were very good, and the ambiance was truly lovely. Behind the house, you'll find a waterfall, and it's worth climbing the steps to get there.

Very nice, friendly staff, all of them. From ordering to eating and paying, everything was perfect. Everyone enjoyed the food, and the portions were average and manageable. The beer garden and interior were very nice. Restrooms were very clean. It was very busy, but there wasn't a long wait, and we were asked several times if we had any other requests. A true insider tip in the Black Forest The Albhof am Wasserfall is an idyllically located inn with a warm atmosphere – perfect for a break in the midst of nature. The menu offers regional classics, including vegetarian and vegan options, all freshly and lovingly prepared. A particularly lovely feature is the large terrace with a view of the greenery and the playground right next door. As soon as you enter, you can sense the attention to detail: a stylish ambiance, pleasant lighting, and a thoughtful welcome make for a perfect start. It's an ideal starting point for hikes – including an idyllic waterfall right outside the door. I'll definitely be back!

The Albhof is pure Black Forest idyll. Quietly located, far back in the valley. A shady spot in the garden restaurant, with the babbling stream of the Menzenschwand Alb in the background. Perfect for switching off and relaxing. We had the Maultaschen (swabian ravioli) with potato salad and the Käsespätzle (cheese spaetzle) with goat cheese. Both dishes were very tasty. The service was quick and friendly, and the wait times were short.

An inviting beer garden surrounded by lush blooming flowers. Very beautiful. Our food was very good. And they even offered smaller portions for some dishes. Perfect.

Our celebration at the Albhof was a real success! The food was delicious, the service was attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere was simply relaxing. A huge thank you to the team—we'd love to come back!

Nice ambiance, but the food was rather mediocre. My schnitzel was very dry, and the breading fell off when I cut it. I think it was a frozen product. For the price, you should definitely have expected more! Fries and potato salad were okay. The manager's behavior was absolutely outrageous. There was a misunderstanding in the kitchen, and a waitress delivered my food to the wrong table, where it was refused. About 10 minutes later, a second waiter came to our table and brought me my meal with the wrong side dish. I pointed this out to him, whereupon he returned to the kitchen, annoyed, with his plate. A few moments later, the angry manager came and slammed my food down on me, saying, "To put an end to this farce, you'll have both: potato salad and fries!" I, as well as the guests at the two adjacent tables!!!, tried to explain to her what had happened, but she remained aggressive and uncooperative and continued to accuse me. I've never experienced such behavior in a restaurant before. She then sent the very nice first waitress to apologize to me, which was completely unnecessary, as she had simply been given the wrong table number. The manager herself didn't need to apologize to me after clarifying the situation. That would have been the least she could have done.

Very friendly staff although it's very busy all the time. They even have some vegan options (apart from fries and potato salad) they offer vegan Maultaschen (German dumplings).

Every star is well deserved here...a fantastic location in a beautiful setting amidst the incomparable natural beauty of the Black Forest. I was there for dinner in 2024 and was absolutely thrilled: excellent quality, delicious food, generous portions, and very good service. Unfortunately, my current visit couldn't live up to that. The service this time was rather disappointing – probably due to language barriers, which meant our special requests couldn't be accommodated. While the waitress was friendly and visibly attentive, and they apologized afterward, we unfortunately didn't feel completely at ease. The food also didn't live up to the quality we'd experienced last time, so we lost the desire for dessert. It's a real shame, because the Albhof was actually a little insider tip for me that I was happy to recommend, and we were really looking forward to the visit. Maybe it was just a bad day...

Very tastefully decorated inn. Large selection of cakes and tarts. The menu is too varied to only stop in once. Local meat and game from our own hunt will leave you wanting more. Very committed hosts!

After three years I was happy to finally be here again, but the food was an absolute disaster. The quality of the food had deteriorated so much that I felt like I was being fed canned food. The meat seemed to come from the worst farming imaginable. The entire visit seemed like “I wanted to, but couldn’t”. The journey here was completely free and I will definitely look for another alternative on my next visit to the Black Forest. It seems that the owners have changed and unfortunately this is also reflected in the service, which is now shockingly poor.

A nice surprise. (April 2023) In the middle of our hike (we had planned the sandwiches) but we saw this restaurant and the effort whetted our appetite and made us forget the sandwiches. Restaurant &Hotel in the Black Forest. Pure nature. Fantastic place for hiking and trying typical food based on ragù and sausages. Very good quality-price. Very nice and refined restaurant, surrounded by greenery and just a few minutes from the town centre. The owner was kind and super helpful in speaking to us in English, translating the menu (in German only) and recommending typical dishes from the area. Interior of the refined venue, very beautiful.

I'm a bit torn about how best to rate this. The ambience is definitely great. Very nicely furnished dining room with great attention to detail. The landlord is also super friendly and has a few sayings on his lips. Very good! We were also served quickly. The food - well... It was tasty, but... My cordon bleu from the frozen food - otherwise the breading wouldn't have fallen off the way it did. At least it was a good frozen product. Fries were tasty and well seasoned. The cheese spaetzle is also a ready-made product (i.e. the spaetzle) which is okay in itself, but as a tip to the cook - it's better to use knöpfle - they fit better 😉 Unfortunately, the salad was already soggy and served with way too much over-seasoned dressing. Price performance - well, quite expensive for what is on offer. It would be better to take another euro or two and use fresh products. The inn definitely has the potential to become a real insider tip, as it is located a little outside the town.

Fantastic location in close proximity to the waterfall and wonderful service. The furnishings are high quality and very attractive. Unfortunately, we didn't like the food so much: cheese spaetzle wasn't anything special, we didn't really taste the cheese and the porcini mushroom dumplings were a bit too dry.

We were there at lunchtime after hiking. The service was great and the atmosphere was very inviting. We decided to eat here in the evening and it was so delicious that even our kids ate everything. The Wiener Schnitzel and the goat cheese salad were incredibly tasty. Cocktails and dessert too. 100% recommendation ❤️

A great restaurant with decor that absolutely suits the region! We've been there twice so far (2023 and yesterday) and the food is really delicious! The service is great, you don't have to wait long and the owner is very personable. At the end there was a regional specialty as a nightcap. There are also plenty of parking spaces available. We will be back definitely!

We were there 3 times within 2 days - once after a hike at lunchtime for a drink and a snack board, once for dinner and then again for lunch with a small portion of cheese spaetzle and a salad plate. Everything was very good, but dinner exceeded it. I had a perfect veal schnitzel. The breading was incredibly fluffy and at the same time very crispy, well seasoned, a real dream for me. The owners are also very nice, the atmosphere is very nice and cozy. In the summer, the outdoor terrace is certainly a great place to linger, the backdrop is fantastic. I hope to see you again, thank you for the great time!

Since the Retz family took over the restaurant, I can only recommend it. We have been coming to the holiday apartment for over 6 years and they have been doing the catering since last year. Great and extensive offer. Nice atmosphere, friendly hosts. Price performance tip top! No problems with a dog. It was a pleasure.

Had dinner there last Sunday. It was a really great stay. Food was great and price/performance was totally right. Service is quick and very friendly. We will be back.

We went there spontaneously for an afternoon coffee. I was unpleasantly surprised at the high price level. Drinks and food prices are well above the average for South Baden gastronomy. However, we really liked the atmosphere and the summer beer garden is recommended. The access to the waterfall is currently somewhat difficult due to recently completed asphalting, as it is only one lane over an estimated length of 800 m.

The Wasserfall restaurant offers delicious regional cuisine for young and old at very fair prices. With Maultaschen in a wide variety of variations, snack platters, or freshly prepared pork and veal schnitzels, everyone will surely find what they are looking for. There are even delicious vegan Maultaschen. Well-stocked wine lists are also available for the right wine accompaniment. You can also stop here for a warming coffee, and home-made cakes and tarts are also available. I can highly recommend a visit.

Sehr idyllisches Lokal. Die Gaststätte liegt direkt am Wasserfall. Es gibt einen schönen Biergarten, einen Spielplatz für Kinder und Parkplätze sind auch vorhanden. Das Essen hat gut geschmeckt. Wir hatten Zwiebelkuchen und Federweißer und beide waren hervorragend. Ich würde gerne nochmal kommen.

Wir waren eine Woche im Urlaub im wunderschönen Menzenschwand und haben den „Wasserfall“ zum Glück recht früh entdeckt. Uns hat das außergewöhnliche Ambiente und die herzliche Gastfreundschaft auf Anhieb gut gefallen so dass wir gleich mehrfach hier zu Abend gegessen haben. Die Küche ist „gut bürgerlich“ und einfach perfekt nach einer langen Wanderung in dieser malerischen Umgebung. Das Preis-/ Leistungsverhältnis ist absolut fair 👍🏻 Der Biergarten, der große Kinder-Spielplatz, der kleine Bach nebenan und nicht zuletzt die Menzenschwander Wasserfälle sind neben dem leckeren Essen gute Argumente wieder einmal vorbei zu schauen falls wir in der Nähe sind.
