Ich fand den Kaiserschmarn nicht besonders lecker. Und das Anbetteln nach Trinkgeld ehrlich gesagt erbärmlich.

Wir hatten ein rundherum sorglos Paket bei euch! Unkomplizierte kurzfristige Buchung mit Schlüssel und nettem Brieflein an der Rezeption. Herrlicher Strandzugang mit süßer Sauna. Überall frische Blumen (!) und ein gelungener Mix von Modern und Alt. Das Frühstück war mit Liebe ausgesucht und hergerichtet. Herrlicher Café. Wir kommen wieder :-)!

Der Biergarten ist einfach cool mit Seeblick und gechilltem Sound. Und der Kartoffelsalat hat sich sogar 6 Sterne verdient 😋.

Cooles Konzept, alte Pension/ altes typisches bayrisches Hotel renoviert mit einer tollen Lage am wunderschönen Walchensee. Schöner Biergarten, nette Pizzeria nebenan und ein toller Steg am Wasser mit kleiner Sauna. Allerdings empfinde ich das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis als etwas zu hoch, kein Aufzug, kein Balkon und für das Beziehen des Sofas 30€ extra/ Nacht womit man bei einem der größeren Zimmer bei 215€/ Nacht mit Frühstück für 2 Erwachsene und ein zweijähriges Kind wäre. Für den Preis könnte man dann beim sonst netten Frühstück auch etwas mehr an Eierspeisen anbieten als „nur“ hartgekochte Eier. Summa summarum ist es dann schön jedoch schon etwas teuer im Vergleich zu anderen Hotels in Deutschland/ Österreich.

Sehr freundlicher Service, die Pizza hat uns leider gar nicht geschmeckt, ist zwar frisch, aber ohne Geschmack oder Kräuter, kleine Größe,dafür mit über 15 Euro zu teuer.

Wir waren schon oft unterwegs und setzen keine hohen Ansprüche jedoch bei 174 € pro Nacht hatten wir uns das anders vorgestellt An sich ein nettes Hotel und die Lage ist top, aber der Preis ist unserer Meinung nach überteuert

Ein wunderschönes, kleines und familiäres Hotel, das mit unglaublich viel Liebe zum Detail geführt wird. Schon beim Ankommen merkt man sofort, wie besonders dieser Ort ist. Der Stil des Hotels hat uns total begeistert. Eine außergewöhnlich gelungene Mischung aus Boho, skandinavischem Design und charmanten 60er-Jahre-Elementen. Wirklich etwas ganz Besonderes und mit viel Geschmack eingerichtet. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir das gesamte Team: Alle Mitarbeitenden waren unfassbar freundlich, aufmerksam und herzlich. Man fühlt sich vom ersten Moment an willkommen und einfach rundum wohl. Das angebotene Gänge-Menü war hervorragend und erinnerte definitiv an gehobene Küche. Geschmacklich und auch optisch ein echtes Highlight. Auch das Frühstück war sehr lecker. Positiv aufgefallen ist uns vor allem, dass vieles hausgemacht ist und offenbar regionale Produkte verwendet werden. Nach fünf Tagen wurde die Auswahl für uns allerdings etwas eintönig, da es täglich nahezu dasselbe gab und die Auswahl insgesamt eher überschaubar war. Hier hätten wir uns etwas mehr Abwechslung gewünscht, zum Beispiel verschiedene Brötchensorten wie Körnerbrötchen, mal Croissants oder wechselnde Aufstriche und Beläge. Unser absolutes Highlight war das Sauna-Fass direkt am See. Es ist wirklich toll gelöst, dass jedes Zimmer die Möglichkeit hat, diesen Bereich exklusiv für sich zu reservieren und ganz privat zu nutzen. Ein besonderes Erlebnis in wunderschöner Atmosphäre. Die Umgebung selbst ist ebenfalls sehr schön. Zur aktuellen Reisezeit im Mai wirkte allerdings vieles noch etwas ausgestorben. Gerade in der Gastronomie hatten viele Orte geschlossen oder nur eingeschränkt geöffnet. Ohne Auto ist es zudem schwierig, viel zu unternehmen, sofern man nicht hauptsächlich die Ruhe und Natur genießen möchte. Insgesamt ist es ein großartiges Hotel, das wir definitiv weiterempfehlen würden. Aus unserer Sicht besonders ideal für kürzere Aufenthalte.

Die Lage direkt am Wasser bietet eine unschlagbare Aussicht, die sofort Urlaubsgefühle weckt. ​Die Küche überzeugt mit frischen, regionalen Schmankerln und modernem Pfiff. Besonders hervorzuheben sind der freundliche Service und das stilvolle, aber entspannte Ambiente. Ideal für einen Sundowner oder ein schickes Abendessen. Pflichtbesuch!

Sehr entspannte Atmosphäre in wunderschöner Landschaft

Traumhafte Lage direkt am Walchensee, ruhig, naturbelassen und einfach perfekt zum Abschalten. Die Fasssauna am See ist ein absolutes Highlight, vor allem mit direktem Seezugang für die Abkühlung danach. Genau so stellt man sich Entspannung in den Bergen vor. Klare Empfehlung!

Fantastisches Essen, exzellenter Service. Wir hatten einen wirklich wundervollen Abend und ich kann dieses Restaurant nur wärmstens empfehlen. Unbedingt das Drei-Gänge-Menü probieren – alles aus regionalen Zutaten und hervorragend angerichtet. Wir kommen wieder!

Kleines, süßes Hotel. Freundliches Personal. Top Sauberkeit. Sehr gutes Frühstück und Abendessen. Unmittelbare Nähe zum Wasser mit Bademöglichkeit. Die Sauna, mit Blick auf den See und die Berge ist ein kleines Highlight. Die Sauna wurde sogar um 21:00 Uhr nochmal für uns angemacht. Unsere Labradorhündin war herzlich willkommen und hat sich merkbar wohl gefühlt. Für sie standen Näpfen und sogar ein großes Liegekissen im Zimmer bereit. Danke für tollen Aufenthalt.

Lauwarmer Aperol. Erst die Aussage, dass es kein Schnitzel mehr gibt. Als wir dann was anderes bestellen wollten, gab es plötzlich gar nichts mehr an Essen. Die nächsten Personen haben dann doch noch Pommes bestellen dürfen?! Also wenn eine Aussage getätigt wird, dann sollte das auch für alle gelten und nicht nach Lust und Laune!!! Und das um 14:30 Uhr

Meine Frau und ich hatten ein rundum fantastisches Erlebnis. Hervorragender Service, wunderschöne Lage und ein unglaubliches Restaurant. Wir kommen ganz bestimmt wieder.

Fantastische Unterkunft für unser Team Event. Wir haben für einen Tag das Workshop Paket gebucht und konnten uns in wunderschöner Umgebung und toller Bewirtung erst auf die Inhalte und dann auf die Natur konzentrieren. Unglaublich leckeres und regionales Essen, gute Anbindung nach München und extrem freundliches Personal. Klare Empfehlung!

Beeindruckend war vor allem das Essen. Das 3-Gänge-Menü am Abend ist einen Umweg wert und mit EUR 49,— fair kalkuliert. Dazu gibt es eine feine Weinauswahl. Das Hotel wird gerade bei laufendem Betrieb behutsam modernisiert. Unser Zimmer 17 war zweckmäßig und eher klein, aber für eine Nacht völlig ausreichend und ansprechend renoviert. Überhaupt wird im Haus viel Wert auf Bio und regionale Produkte gelegt. Biergarten mit Seeblick! Junges Team mit teilweise englischsprachigem Hintergrund. Uns hat diese Mischung aus alt und neu und regional gut gefallen. Wir kommen gerne wieder, ein seltener Glücksfall für den Walchensee wie wir finden.

Tolles Team, gemütliche Zimmer, leckeres Essen

Wir haben in der Wallerei drei wunderschöne Tage verbracht. Das Hotel ist liebevoll eingerichtet und bietet alles, was man sich für einen Wanderurlaub wünscht. Ein besonderes Highlight ist die tolle Seeterrasse und das leckere Frühstück (unglaublich gutes Brot!!). Leider war das Restaurant während unseres Aufenthalts geschlossen, was bedauerlich war, da es unseren Aufenthalt perfekt abgerundet hätte. In der näheren Umgebung gibt es kulinarisch nicht sehr viel. Vielen Dank!

Wenn Sie in Walcensee schnell etwas essen möchten, ist dies eine hervorragende Wahl. Das Lokal liegt direkt neben dem Hotel, sodass das Parken unkompliziert ist. Auch das Schwimmbad am See und die Seilbahn sind in der Nähe, was es zu einem idealen Ausgangspunkt für Erkundungstouren macht. Ich empfehle dieses Lokal allen, die einen kleinen Biergarten mit einer bekannten Biergartenkarte zu fairen Preisen suchen.

Großartige Lage – sowohl drinnen als auch draußen. Das Drei-Gänge-Menü war exzellent. Regionale Zutaten, mit viel Liebe zubereitet. Gute Weinauswahl und herzlicher Service, man fühlte sich wie bei Freunden. Stil und Küche unterscheiden sich von anderen Wirtshaus-ähnlichen Restaurants in der Region und sind etwas teurer. Daher bin ich etwas besorgt, ob dieses Juwel langfristig bestehen kann. Ich hoffe es. Die Inhaber verdienen viel mehr Gäste. Ein Ausflug von München lohnt sich, denn Walchensee und Herzogstand sind tolle Tagesausflugsziele, und dieses Restaurant ist der perfekte Ort, um einen solchen Tag ausklingen zu lassen, bevor es zurückgeht.

Wir waren zum Wild-Dinner in der Wallerei – und was soll man sagen? Ein rundum gelungenes Event, das uns in jeder Hinsicht begeistert hat. We were here for a short visit and wanted to have a good meal. Not much was open since we were visiting during the off-season. We made a reservation without any expectations and were very pleasantly surprised. I'm absolutely not a fan of chicken, but I would drive all the way from Cologne again just for the chicken breast. You're doing everything right with your restaurant. Highly recommended if you're ever in the area.

Very nice stay at Wallerei and in Walchensee. The location has great offers for hiking and outdoor activities, while the hotel is a little gem inside this valley. The staff is friendly, the food delicious, and the different spaces are decorated with very sophisticated interior design selections. All this being pet-friendly as well. We would be very happy to come back! Highly recommended 💯

Newly renovated rooms that make you feel comfortable. Good service. The breakfast buffet was excellent, with plenty of homemade vegan and vegetarian spreads.

We stayed at the Wallerei for three nights, and it was simply fantastic. You immediately feel at home – the decor is a beautiful blend of modern and traditional, super cozy, and with great attention to detail. The team is incredibly attentive, warm, and professional, both in service and at the reception. Everything just fits together. The breakfast was fantastic: regional, varied, balanced, and incredibly delicious. The freshly made cappuccino from the portafilter was the icing on the cake. One evening, we tried the three-course menu – perfect from start to finish. The recommended wine pairing took the whole experience to a whole new level. Another evening, we went to the sister restaurant, Marietta, and had pizza – also absolutely top-notch. I would also like to particularly highlight the sauna, which you can book for an hour every day. A real highlight and perfect for relaxation. In conclusion: A hotel to fall in love with – we'll definitely be back.

A fantastic place to simply unwind... The breakfast is phenomenal! The location is perfect for a bike ride or a hike to Herzogstand – we highly recommend the ridge hike...

Very tasty dishes and friendly service

We were only at the Biergarten. The food was acceptable after a day in the mountains. The views of the lake were beautiful, but it was quite noisy because of the cars passing by. The service was excellent. Everyone was very friendly.

Great place. I missed my bus and had nowhere to go. I came here just to ask to sit in the hallway. I was told it was entirely my fault that I missed the bus and that it wasn't their policy to help people. Instead, they suggested I walk to the next town because there's a youth hostel there.

A wonderful and welcoming stay. The hotel has been lovingly and charmingly renovated, combining old and new. The staff is attentive and truly friendly. The lakeside terrace with its barrel sauna and direct lake access is fantastic, and the breakfast is outstanding. Regional, organic, or homemade. Thank you so much!

It looked nice, with small tables around the big tree. Of course, no cushions, no real table decorations. It was self-service, like at a kiosk. The worst part was that our glasses and cell phones, which were lying on the table, were covered in tree resin, as were our pants and backpacks, when we stood up. No warning, we're really pissed off!!

Located directly on Lake Walchensee with its own bathing jetty, this hotel is comfortable, uncomplicated, has convenient parking, and offers a very good and healthy breakfast. Exceptionally friendly service. Satisfied and cheerful, predominantly young guests (I'm a retiree myself :-) Cable car just around the corner.

The Wallerei is beautifully situated on Lake Walchensee. The service was fantastic, both at the reception and at the truly fantastic breakfast! The concept of redesigning an old house with new elements and modern details while still preserving the 70s charm was largely successful (e.g., great mattresses, lamps, wall colors, decor), but many areas are in dire need of replacement/renovation! We'll definitely be back and hope that, given the rather high room rate, some things will be updated (carpet/carpeting in the entrance area)! We thought it was really sweet that there were baskets and bowls for our dog in the room, although the price per dog, at €30, is significantly more expensive than most other accommodations!

There's something truly special about this place, decorated with so much love. Super friendly staff, absolutely perfect food, super clean rooms, and comfortable beds. This is exactly what we imagined a vacation to be. Peace and contentment, which the staff also radiate. The sauna experience at this location was incredible. We'll definitely be back. It's incredible what they've put together. Highly recommended!

It was a very pleasant experience. We felt very comfortable. The welcome was warm, the rooms were great. The bedding was truly a highlight (something you rarely say about bedding). The hiking backpack in the room is a nice touch. The breakfast is delicious, with a wide selection of homemade and regional products. The location on the lake is outstanding. The hotel's lakeside terrace also offers a small sauna with a lake view and direct access. You can start short and long hikes directly from the hotel. The complex includes a pizzeria/café (very tasty) and a beer garden (beautiful, also delicious). The highlight for me was the evening three-course menu in the restaurant. It was first-class cuisine in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere at an unbeatable price.

If you want to have a nice holiday this is the right place.

A beautifully located small hotel with great rooms and a sensational three-course dinner and a fantastic breakfast in the morning!

We stayed here for an overnight stop. The staff from the hotel was super friendly and welcoming. The room was super clean (cool combo of old and new) and we were given the biggest in our category as we were traveling with one small child. And the best part was the super tasty breakfast with freshly prepared and regional products (local cheese, coffee from nearby roastery). All in all we were super satisfied and looking forward of coming back (when it’s warmer and we can use the private lake access).

Delicious cuisine, wonderful breakfast, very cozy and a fantastic location – with private lake access and a lakeside sauna. And: dogs are allowed, and they're all super sweet! We'll definitely be back.

A small but beautifully furnished hotel with a love for the essentials! We felt very comfortable here. The room was very clean and even included a hiking backpack, bathrobes, and a beach towel. The breakfast was lovingly prepared, with lots of delicious homemade spreads (I wish I had brought the jam with me!). We would come back anytime!

Maybe we just had a bad day, but my wieners seemed to have been sitting in water all day, and maybe it was my mistake to assume that a homemade iced tea for 6 euros doesn't come in a 0.3 liter glass with 5 ice cubes.

We visited the restaurant. The staff was friendly and the food was delicious. Only the restroom wasn't that clean.

Beautiful location, but a somewhat lifeless restaurant during the day. The food was tasty but portions were small. We sat at lunch with mostly cyclists, and the staff defended several attempts to refill our bike bottles. Pretty poor!

We arrived for lunch by bicycle and were drawn to the lake view from the beer garden. The menu was simple and the food quality good. But service was very disappointing. After paying for five meals and five drinks, the outdoor bar staff - not visibly occupied at the time - refused to fill even one of our drink bottles with tap water. Ridiculous.

A solid 10 out of 10♥️ In short, we truly fell in love with the Wallerei am Walchensee. From the very first moment, everyone was open, accommodating, and friendly. Even the written and telephone contact was excellent. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed, shown a storage option for our bikes, quickly booked a private slot for the super-sweet barrel sauna, and then we went to our room. A beautifully renovated space. Clean, yet inviting and cozy. It looked exactly like the pictures. My partner spontaneously ordered a bouquet of flowers for me as a little surprise. They also executed this superbly. I was delighted. After a short rest in the room and on the balcony overlooking the lake, we went to the restaurant for a three-course menu. The food was a dream! Each course was perfectly balanced and well-balanced. We enjoy good food and it's not often that everything is truly perfect. The wine pairing we ordered was also fantastic. We were completely happy. The breakfast was also varied and stocked with countless regional products. (A little highlight was the homemade white chocolate and cinnamon spread :) ) The private jetty to the lake completes everything. We'll definitely be back. THANK YOU for the relaxing time with you!

Nice restaurant on Lake Walchensee. They offer a friendly deductible and something for everyone. The price is perfectly reasonable for the location. The only drawback is that, as a bus driver with a full bus, there's nothing for everyone, not even a coffee. Otherwise, it's really nice.

The Wallerei is located directly on the lake—the most beautiful lake of all, Walchensee. It also has its own private access to the lake, so we could walk the two minutes from our room to the lake in our bathrobes (provided free of charge by the hotel) in the morning to swim before breakfast. Wonderful. The breakfast is very good, and so is the coffee. The pizza from next door, which you can also eat in the beer garden, is absolutely delicious. There's also a really cozy living room with a pool table. We felt very comfortable and would love to come back.

We can only recommend the Wallerei wholeheartedly. It's a very special place for us, and not just because we celebrated our dream wedding here. Everyone is super kind and welcoming, and we've felt incredibly comfortable every time we've visited. The rooms are very tastefully decorated and, with great attention to detail, combine the history of the hotel with a modern twist. The food and breakfast buffet are delicious (there are vegan options too!), and the lakeside terrace with access to Bavaria's most beautiful lake completes the whole experience. The food, decor, location, and people are simply 100/10.

For me, the Wallerei is more than just food, drink, and sleep, and a real insider tip if you want to stay right by the beautiful turquoise waters. Upon arrival at the Wallerei, you'll receive a friendly welcome and be personally escorted to your room. I like the style of the room. A 70s look in the bathroom with modern charm, perfectly combined. It's clean and has everything you need, without any frills. I particularly liked the Bluetooth speaker and the bathrobe in the room. For spontaneous hikers who decide to go hiking in the mountains but arrive without any equipment, a hiking backpack was available in the room. I love the attention to detail and the scent of pine in the shower gel. :) The breakfast is simply a dream, with selected, regional, and homemade dishes and just the thing if you're starting the day with a swim in the lake. A day couldn't start better. The beer garden serves simple dishes. The Bavarian potato salad is highly recommended. The highlight of this accommodation is a sauna right on the lake. It invites you to relax and unwind. We'll be back, that's for sure!

I can only report positive things.

We were here at Walchensee for a day trip, and since the entire hotel and the beer garden looked quite nice, my mother and I thought we'd go there for dinner. Wrong decision!! More show than substance! The schnitzel was nothing but gristle, the potato salad tasted of nothing, neither of us finished our meal, and yet we both immediately got stomachaches and nausea afterward. We started the next day with a very queasy stomach. Not recommended!

Unfortunately, the currywurst wasn't quite as impressive. The lentil soup tasted homemade and was good, but we felt the price was too high for the self-service portion size and not justified. I would have preferred to skip the included bread and ask for more soup.

Friendly staff, but unwilling to satisfy customers or accommodate requests. Good location with a beautiful view. Unattractive, stained cement floor and no closets in the room. Small bathroom with no extras. Breakfast was good quality, but limited in selection and variety. No seasonal fruit, no fruit salad, and no cereal selection. Not good value for money.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at this beautiful hotel. The rooms are furnished with great attention to detail and a great sense of style – a mix of modern and traditional, yet cozy and simply relaxing. We particularly enjoyed the small but cozy sauna with its stunning lake view – a real highlight! The relaxing playlist from the Bluetooth speaker also perfectly matched the atmosphere. The three-course dinner in the evening was a true culinary experience – creative, fresh, and delicious. It was also nice that our dog was warmly welcomed and even had a suitable dog bed ready. We felt very well looked after at all times. Thank you again, and we will definitely be back!

5 stars for service, lovely staff, interesting breakfast, and cute room (and ofc location). 1 star for allowing people to smoke on the balconies. I don’t smoke. We kept the door open to enjoy fresh air, and other people’s smoke kept drifting in the room. Sometimes by the time I smelled the smoke, it was too late and our room already smelled of smoke by the time we closed the door. I think some staff might have also been smoking on the ground floor right next to the hotel. Second-hand smoke is harmful, that’s a fact. If you want people to enjoy their stay (including the balconies), please please ban smoking on hotel premises and have a designated smoking area in the parking lot, at least a bit away from the hotel. People’s addictions are their own responsibility to deal with and other guests should not be subjected to harmful smoke because of them.

Super nice hotel and really good for relaxing and switching off. I really enjoyed my stay and it probably won't be the last time I'll be there.

Our room was newly renovated and stylishly decorated, with beautiful details like the flowerpot lamps. The beer garden offers a perfect view of the lake. The 3-course menu in the restaurant changes daily and is excellent. The service was extremely friendly and attentive. The location directly on Lake Walchensee is ideal for hikes, especially to the Herzogstand, or bike tours around the lake - there is a rental shop around the corner. We'll definitely be back!

Great fishing holiday with an overnight stay at the whale shop. Beautiful rooms, very friendly staff and a delicious regional breakfast.

We had a very disappointing experience in whale fishing. Even though the restaurant knew in advance that we would be coming with a child, they didn't seem prepared or particularly child-friendly. There was only one dish for children - Butterspätzle - but it was served completely dry, hard and unappetizing. It was more reminiscent of a bowl of dry cornflakes than an actual meal. If a restaurant only offers a single children's meal, it should at least be properly prepared. Unfortunately, we were neither offered to remake the dish nor suggested an alternative. Our son couldn't eat anything because of this, which spoiled the entire experience for all of us. This was particularly unfortunate because we came from Berlin specifically to eat at the Wallerei. It would have been very helpful to be informed in advance that children are apparently not particularly welcome here.

We actually only came here by chance because of the fast charging station. The service was very nice and the food was extremely good! The pike dumplings are highly recommended.

Super nice staff, clean rooms, very tasty and local food and the sauna with a view of Lake Walchensee. I would love to come back! A little note for tall people over 1.80 m: the beds might be a bit tight for you... Personally, I really like the mix of genres in the location and I was able to sleep well :)

A very nice hotel with a fantastic lakeside location. Many beautiful hiking trails in the surrounding area and a short drive to popular ski resorts. We really enjoyed it and can highly recommend it for a special time together in the Bavarian countryside.

The game dinner on December 7th, 2024 was a great event with a very tasty menu and very friendly and pleasant service in a cozy and beautiful atmosphere. Highly recommended!!

Lilian and Lukas have created a very special place! We celebrated our wedding at the Wallerei in September and were able to spend a whole weekend together with our friends and families in this wonderful place. For us - the perfect location. The mix of Bavarian traditional and modern/vintage makes the Wallerei super cozy. The house was renovated with so much attention to detail and you immediately feel at home. The great team also contributes to this, who are super nice, were flexible in everything and thought so well and looked after us. Thank you very much for everything, dear ones, and we'll see each other again very soon!

A beautiful place in a fantastic location. The food is of the highest quality and lovingly coordinated and put together. The breakfast is plentiful, regional and many things (e.g. spreads and bread) are homemade. The rooms and the entire facility are individually and tastefully designed. The hotel's own jetty directly on Lake Walchensee is a particular highlight, as are the opportunities to browse through wonderful books or play billiards in the fireplace room. You can immediately feel that there is a lot of heart and soul put into this. The Wallerei is a wonderful place and invites you to relax and unwind. Gladly again at any time - keep it up!

I just got to spend four days at the Wallerei for a yoga retreat – and it was absolutely magical! Lilly and her team were particularly attentive and friendly, so I felt completely comfortable. The vegan and vegetarian dinners were of a very high quality (a big compliment to Chef Kevin!), and breakfast was a delight each morning, with lots of home-made delicacies. The apricot mint jam and granola were my personal favorites, and the freshly made barista coffee was the perfect start to the day. An unexpected highlight for me was ice bathing, followed by a visit to the barrel sauna with a beautiful view. All in all, an unforgettable experience that I hope to repeat at some point. Many thanks to the entire Wallerei team!
