A beautiful place in a fantastic location. The food is of the highest quality and lovingly coordinated and put together. The breakfast is plentiful, regional and many things (e.g. spreads and bread) are homemade. The rooms and the entire facility are individually and tastefully designed. The hotel's own jetty directly on Lake Walchensee is a particular highlight, as are the opportunities to browse through wonderful books or play billiards in the fireplace room. You can immediately feel that there is a lot of heart and soul put into this. The Wallerei is a wonderful place and invites you to relax and unwind. Gladly again at any time - keep it up!

Very tasty crumble cake & apple strudel!

I just got to spend four days at the Wallerei for a yoga retreat – and it was absolutely magical! Lilly and her team were particularly attentive and friendly, so I felt completely comfortable. The vegan and vegetarian dinners were of a very high quality (a big compliment to Chef Kevin!), and breakfast was a delight each morning, with lots of home-made delicacies. The apricot mint jam and granola were my personal favorites, and the freshly made barista coffee was the perfect start to the day. An unexpected highlight for me was ice bathing, followed by a visit to the barrel sauna with a beautiful view. All in all, an unforgettable experience that I hope to repeat at some point. Many thanks to the entire Wallerei team!

A beautiful place in a fantastic location. The food is of high quality and phenomenal, the rooms and everything else are very individually and tastefully designed. In addition to the sauna barrel on the jetty directly on Lake Walchensee, you can also go bowling and play billiards. There's a lot of passion here, you can tell straight away. A special place!

We went to the restaurant for dinner and breakfast. The furnishings are very tasteful - traditional meets modern. The food was outstanding for everyone and the service was super nice and attentive! It's nice that the location is there!!!

Absolutely wonderful everything: great view, terrace, staff (thanks to everyone), restaurant and beer garden. Everything lovingly designed. Here you will find peace, open togetherness and lots of relaxation. The terrace and sauna are an absolute dream! You can only dream of so much peace and quiet with direct access to the lake. To be honest, I have no understanding for the (few) negative reviews here. They either come from absolutely tactless, dishonest or arrogant, badly behaved visitors. For example, someone writes that one of the MA speaks little German. That's a shame: a German who doesn't speak English himself has to rate an entire accommodation negatively because of it? Another apparently doesn't want to walk two steps across the street to the lake. Then he should spend the night in a tent instead! Dear team, THANK YOU and don't let such weirdos get you down :)

The house has a nice mix of traditional and modern. The people who work there are friendly and approachable. The breakfast buffet features fresh, regional ingredients of wonderful quality. There is a very nice beer garden with a variety of snack bars and a good restaurant in the evenings.

4 weeks ago, the Wallerei was our event location! Celebrate your birthday and stay overnight at the same time in great rooms. Our celebration was well organized, organized and very tastefully decorated. The menu in the evening tasted very good and since you eat with your eyes on it, everything was beautifully presented! Also the matching wines. Nothing was left to be desired! The whole Wallerei team was very friendly and attentive. The breakfast is freshly prepared and is very tasty. The rooms are very comfortable with their own charm, very clean. It was a great two days for us in the beautiful beer garden and by the lake and we would love to come back again and again!

We were there at the end of August and we really enjoyed it. The rooms are superbly equipped and designed. At the restaurant and breakfast, most of the food is homemade or regionally sourced, a role model for everyone in the catering industry. Very, very friendly team who think for themselves and give great personal tips. Great breakfast, delicious beer garden food and a small selection in the restaurant, but fine dishes!

We were in the beer garden where there is only self-service. The food is snack level at Oktoberfest prices, the drinks are okay. The background music playlist should be better adapted to the ambience and the customers; we found it rather disturbing.

A really great hotel. The rooms were great, the bathroom was very clean and partially renovated. There was a beautiful sauna included in the price. The service was great. The food is very creative and super good - anyone who eats more than the typical German cuisine of many years ago will certainly feel the same way. Breakfast was completely sufficient (not much, but without any great waste and instead organic and regional). The values ​​in the hotel are definitely correct. The price was already extremely high. Although everything was of higher quality, not everyone in our travel group would stay there again. All in all, we were very satisfied and can only recommend the hotel and restaurant.

We loved our stay at Wallerei, we spent one night there with a young baby and a dog, the staff was incredibly nice, the room very comfortable with a big dog bed and a cot for the baby. Breakfast was delicious with many homemade products! We highly recommend it!

We were once in the beer garden, there wasn't much going on due to the weather, but everyone was nice and we were even offered to go into the dining room because of the cold and drizzle (the restaurant was actually closed). We chose outside with a view of the lake and mountains. The food and the light were great. Because of the good experience, we also ate in the restaurant. That was really very good and special and thanks to the service. Rarely have I been served so kindly, courteously and attentively in such a relaxed manner. I can't say anything about the hotel, we weren't there.

The restaurant is exceptional in every way! First we had the starter of the day and the Kaaspressknödel soup. For the main course, we tried each of the 4 on the menu once. Everything was incredibly tasty, balanced and very special. In addition, beautifully prepared plates and very friendly service. I will definitely come back.😊

....and if there were 6 stars, they would also be due. Even the constant rain and cold weather couldn't dampen the mood at my daughter's wedding party in the Wallerei. The location was perfect for everyone. Swimming in the lake, the small barrel sauna (heated up before breakfast), the lounge with billiards and the bowling alley offered all guests a nice change. Good, healthy cuisine without experiments and the delicious wines were a perfect match. Many thanks to the Wallerei team, you are great, keep it up! See you soon!

Super nicely renovated, very nice staff but the food was a disaster and also mega expensive.

Good economy with self-service!

We were there as a couple with two dogs for a long weekend. The room was very clean and well-kept and we each received a welcome drink in the beer garden. We also found the “living room” there very nice with a billiards table and a couch for a nice evening activity. There was no TV in the room, but we didn't think it was necessary. The breakfast was simple, but absolutely sufficient for the size of the hotel and very tasty. I would recommend the hotel with the beer garden again at any time. I deducted one point for the price of the dogs. We found 25 €/night and especially per dog a bit much. Mainly due to the fact that no more cleaning had to be carried out than if only one had been there. So we paid a whopping €150 for the 3 nights just for the dogs.

We were in town for a week and always ended up in the beautiful beer garden. Simply a place to relax. The food selection was small and self-service didn't bother us. Would love to come again!

We went camping at Walchensee for a few days and went out to eat in the evening restaurant every day. The food, drinks and service are simply great. Especially the mushroom goulash <3. That's why we wrote a little poem: A mushroom goulash, so warm and fine, With a spicy scent, invites us to feast. Mushrooms dance in the pan, With onions, garlic, all on fire. The paprika powder red and clear, Gives it spice, wonderful. A touch of cream, creamy, light, The heart reaches into darkness with happiness. In the pot a festival that blooms gently, A mushroom goulash that glows the soul. Thank you for the unforgettable evenings with you.

Beer garden offers overpriced food for self-service. Sausage salad consists of one! snipped pickles (if any) sausage slices, half! piece of bread and half a liter of vinegar. Currywurst sauce without pep. Better drive on next time.

Yes, self-service is popular and if you absolutely have to be served, you're in the wrong place here. But everything is signposted accordingly. I cannot understand the sometimes outrageous, false and racist reviews here. Yes, right, AfD voters probably shouldn't come here. Anyone who values ​​lovely people and is lovable, nice and polite will have a wonderful holiday here! By the way, criticism is taken seriously. We were here for 4 days. We had lunch at the Wallerei. The location is very nice on Lake Walchensee, only the road between the lake and the terrace disturbs the ambience. The beer garden outside is really nice, the offerings are modern and regional. The smoked char was very tasty, but one more slice of bread would have been nice. Potato salad also very good.

We had an excellent meal in the restaurant there. Service was super nice! You can choose great things from a deliberately small menu. For us it was a taste experience. The beer garden is another self-service concept that we will review another time.

We stayed at the Wallerei for 4 nights - very friendly staff, beer garden and restaurant were very good. The breakfast in particular was very tasty with lots of homemade dishes, including vegetarian and vegan. We enjoyed using the private lake access with terrace, as well as the “living room” with billiards and small mini-bar. Large free parking space is included! We'd love to come back!

Yesterday we went to the Wallerei in the beer garden and were totally disappointed. We have never seen such a desolate beer garden. Not at all attractive and not comfortable, the tables and benches were just put there and done. You didn't want to linger, the loud music didn't suit you at all. The tables were sticky, the food was average, the fish was already sold out after 1 hour of opening, only self-service and leaving the plates and cutlery with all the leftover food wasn't that inviting either. Once and not again. You get 1 point for free parking, the parking fees on and in Walchensee are a complete rip-off...

We went to the Wallerei yesterday and it was great! The people who work there address everyone as “you”, which creates a family atmosphere, it may not be for everyone, but that was completely ok for us. There is a beautiful lake access (10 meters away, you can walk across the little-used road in the bathrobe provided free of charge). A rowing boat can be rented upon request (with champagne and parasol). The rooms are nice, good combination of old and new. The breakfast is extremely good, everything here is fresh and homemade and it tastes great. Coffee (milk, latte macchiato) is also great. The dinner was also very good, the service staff were very friendly and quick. After dinner we played pool (that's also free). The music playing in the hotel is calm and appropriate, thank you for that! Conclusion: We'll be back!

Absolutely ok for a small Sunday breakfast with a great view. Unfortunately there is no cappuccino in the beer garden... 😪

A unique hotel in a unique place. The Walchensee and its surroundings are truly traumatic. Here nature still dominates and you can completely relax. And the Wallerei is located directly on this beautiful See! Truly a unique location with the added bonus of a private bathing jetty directly on the lake, with beautiful furniture and a boathouse and sauna. We were able to relax here so wonderfully. The hotel has already been nicely renovated with 10 rooms that are very tastefully decorated and a cozy breakfast room with a delicious breakfast! Homemade jam, spreads, banana bread etc; it was a party every morning! During our stay the restaurant was closed for a week, but we were nevertheless able to enjoy the cozy beer garden with honest and fresh food and drinks. They have more plans for renovation and we will definitely go back to see how this turned out!

We had a really delicious meal in the restaurant today. Homemade spaetzle with fish and a delicious coleslaw. For dessert there was a chocolate tart. The staff there is very friendly. Definitely recommended in the area.

The food in the beer garden and in the restaurant was freshly prepared with regional products and always beautifully presented. All employees were super friendly, warm and accommodating. You can tell straight away that everyone is putting their whole heart into it. The hotel has its own exclusive bathing terrace, which was a wonderful place to start or end the day. The Walchensee with the town of the same name is in a fantastic location, the lake is totally clear and a paradise for water sports such as SUP. The hotel has many details and you can tell that it was designed with love. The rooms are clean and really very pleasant without a TV. There was a reading lamp above the bed, which really impressed us. Breakfast was just right, a small selection with everything you need, requests were also taken into account. The beer garden is nice, the only thing that bothered us a bit is the self-service in the beer garden, we just don't want that on vacation. The lakeside terrace that belongs to the hotel is an absolute dream, little privacy. What also annoyed us was the breakfast lady on our second morning because she was unfortunately unfriendly and kept us waiting forever. Forgot to refill the buffet and unfortunately made the morning very stressful.

We spent 6 super relaxing days in the Wallerei. Lake Walchensee is simply a dream and an oasis of peace in the evening. Our highlight was ending the evening in the setting sun on the hotel's own (and exclusive) terrace, simply wonderful. The hotel combines modernity with tradition; many old elements have been carefully renovated and integrated into the concept. I personally need a little more storage space in the room, for example a small chest of drawers or something. And unfortunately we have found that we sleep better with the end of the bed open. The food was always and everywhere delicious and lovingly presented, absolute recommendation! The only thing I can criticize (and these are absolute nothings) is the lack of a towel rack in the bathroom and the wheat beer in the beer garden, Tegernseer on tap is great. Great, relaxed team, great service! Thank you for 6 great days at Walchensee! :)

Badmm....! We had dinner in the beer garden. In the lettuce we found a worm and lots and lots of aphids. We didn't eat it at all, showed it to the chef and he simply apologized and asked if we wanted another one! (Of course not thanks!) It wasn't clean in general and there was no service either! Of course we didn't get a refund or anything as an apology.

A very nice hotel with fantastic breakfast. The service was extremely good, even though we arrived late from our hike, the beer garden was kept open for us a little longer and we were able to eat something warm. Many thanks again to Lilly for the help with the incorrect booking. I can advise you to book through the hotel's website and not through other booking websites. Then the price per night will be slightly cheaper.

Our expectations for this hotel were met, but with a small compromise in terms of the scope and quality of the evening catering. Correct treatment and always friendly service staff, cleanliness, nature-oriented hotel concept, size and practical design of the rooms, good location by the lake, sufficient free parking directly at the hotel, good connection to public transport, good opportunities for leisure activities, security. What a beautiful inn! We stayed there for two nights and loved it. Everything is equipped and thought out with a lot of love. We really liked the lettering that runs through the entire concept. This starts with the minimalist but high-quality furnishings of the room, continues with the creatively interpreted classic kitchen and ends with the open, friendly and warm staff. A special highlight is the private hourly use of the barrel sauna directly on the lake with a beautiful view. Unfortunately, we accidentally booked two rooms instead of one through the website due to problems with the booking. The host Lilian was super accommodating and found a good solution with us that we all felt comfortable with. Thanks again for that! Absolute recommendation!

Best restaurant at Walchensee! In general, I was a bit disappointed with the gastronomy here in the region. Many restaurants are outdated, the food isn't fresh or homemade, the rooms haven't been renovated in ages - it's completely different in Wallerei! Here, traditional cuisine meets a touch of modernity, so everyone should find something here. All products come from the region as best as possible and all dishes are homemade - and you can taste it. The staff is super friendly and you have a great view of the lake from the beer garden. We will be back!

I was able to be a guest at the Wallerei with a group of around 30 people over the long Ascension weekend. What the boss and her committed and always cheerful team have done with the historic building seems to take some getting used to at first: the floors of the hotel rooms are made of polished concrete, the bathrooms are deliberately left in the 1970s style, no television in the room... But ever The deeper you delve into the concept of the Wallerei, which was newly opened a year ago, the more enthusiastic you are about how Lilian Günzel and her team have reconciled the old and the new. The beds are great! The hotel lounge with a pool table invites you to linger, and the dining room is bright and spacious. And that brings us to the next highlight: What Kevin, the chef, and his team conjures up on the table is simply sensational! He succeeds brilliantly in the daring balancing act of spicing up traditional food with modern elements. The beer garden in front of the Wallerei has a beautiful view of the lake and invites you to get together on warm days. Oh yes, the currywurst... Even if it wasn't an original currywurst, I liked the sauce. If you're looking for the classic, you'd better go to the fat stand on the corner. There are also other delicacies to discover in the beer garden, such as smoked char. I wish the entire Wallerei team continued success. You are on a great path! P.S.: And I almost forgot to mention the barrel sauna with a magnificent view of the lake through the large porthole!

Attention, look carefully at the pictures and the information on the subpages!!! Important details are hidden here. When the weather is bad, the hotel is pretty dreary, you can hardly do anything (except play billiards). Not even the sauna is turned on in bad weather. The full price will still be charged. There is NOTHING in the room except a bed with a view of other houses. If you want to see Lake Walchensee, you have to leave the building. I come from Bavaria and love the Bavarian charm, which has been completely taken away from this hotel. We sat in the carelessly furnished restaurant for hours until the reception was finally occupied at 3 p.m. The daily menu is incredibly small. There was exactly one dish (lentil soup with Vienna), if you don't like that and cake, you're out of luck. The walls in the room are empty, no decorations, the floor is concrete, the bathroom is ancient. The whole thing is then rounded off with a view of a house wall. This is not how we imagined our Walchensee vacation. The same thing happened to the holidaymakers next to us. They felt just as uncomfortable and also left on the same day. The team is very uncooperative and insists on almost full price. They were so kind and gave us breakfast (for two days) which, according to the employee, costs 5 euros per person. By then we felt pretty ripped off. There is a reason why all of the pictures were only partially photographed. Better book a nice hotel in the area :)

Great location right on the lake. There are sufficient parking spaces available. The hotel is old and was expanded with a very unique “concept”. Specifically this means: no televisions and no storage space in the rooms. Minimalism is supposed to help you focus on what's important - that might work for some people - but it didn't for me. ...The floor made of polished screed (not a bad idea in an industrial loft) takes away the coziness of the room. The floor in combination with the bare walls creates a slightly desolate feeling that does not disappear even in the contrast to the cheerful floral tiles and ancient fittings from the 70s in the bathroom. The dining room also lacked coziness. Coffee, cake and soup were quite good. Even the friendly staff couldn't persuade me to stay - I still had to pay (that's ok - I could have taken a better look in advance) The idea of ​​turning “old” into something “hip new” is nice, but please think it through carefully and with attention to detail, otherwise it will quickly come across as intended and not done well. The price for an overnight stay at BOOKING is currently €236 - €80 would be appropriate. I keep my fingers crossed that the hotel team will be able to fine-tune the implementation.

We spent 10 days in the Wallerei and really enjoyed it. The location on the lake is sensational! We were also impressed by the great breakfast and the delicious food in the restaurant. Everyone is really very service-oriented and there is a chilled and relaxed atmosphere that we have rarely experienced in a hotel in Germany. So a big thank you to the entire team, you have really created a great location and we have seen how you are constantly working to make it even nicer for the guests.

The restaurant was closed so I went to the kiosk where the selection was limited. There was only cold fish, currywurst and bratwurst. So that was pretty much it 🤨🤨

Huge disappointment: Cold currywurst with French fries for 10.50, lentil soup with sausage for 11 euros carelessly prepared, a few coarse pieces of sausage carelessly placed on top and taste really not exciting, everything boiled soft and in truth not a soup but a dry something without thinness. For the hefty price you can then pick up the whole thing yourself at the kiosk, where a person works who barely speaks German and prefers to speak English [is that still possible?]. Then I just left the dishes at the table and didn't put them in the dish rack as planned, because with the poor price-performance ratio, at least there has to be clearing up - whether you want it or not.

The service was great! We were just passing by and decided to stop and have a coffee. We were served quickly, we didn't wait more than 5-7 minutes for the food we ordered. Sitting at a table gives you the opportunity to enjoy a beautiful view of the lake! Happy holidays

Just 5 types of food like Currywurst and Bratwurst in the beer garden. The scenery by the lake is good and the service is acceptable! The restaurant is closed! Go there if you want to drink a beer or grab a bite to eat!

This gem right by the lake is a surprising exception in this mountain region and directly opens the heart. It unlocks the soul in unexpected ways and yet eludes every expectation. Deceleration, because here one finds a new vision of fusion, in harmony with tradition, while the gaze extends beyond borders, captivated by the play of colors on the lake, and hospitality becomes a cosmopolitan experience. The menu reflects finesse and regionalism, offering alternatives for vegetarians. The selection of cakes is handmade, and you can taste it too. I can vividly imagine how in summer the terrace becomes a place of hustle and bustle. Yet, especially outside the season, the true intimacy of this place reveals itself. Great location with a nice terrace and a sauna directly at the lake! We stayed overnight and enjoyed a delicious breakfast the next morning, especially the homemade banana bread was great!
