The cake and cappuccino were good, but I didn't really like the self-service system.

Great view and delicious food. The service "only" gets 4 stars because it's self-service. Overall, highly recommended.

The best mountain breakfast and amazing service! We felt incredibly comfortable! The staff is truly exceptionally friendly. We had schnitzel and a snack, both delicious. The camp was very spacious and clean. We'd love to come back :-)

Excessively expensive. Roast pork €18. Beef goulash €23...we didn't eat anything. I think eating should be and always will be enjoyable, but the price isn't fair anymore in my opinion. It's also overcrowded. Seats are only available if you're lucky or have to wait a long time. Cable car for two people €42. I think it's awful!!!!! We'd rather walk up next time.

We were very satisfied. Great view. Cable car nearby. A half-hour climb to the summit cross, steep, impassable hiking trail. About 200 meters in elevation. The view from there makes up for everything, simply magnificent.

Self-service, but everyone was super nice. The snack board was great.

I read in the comments that "Kaiserschmarrn was a poem"... Okay, I'll check that out. Conclusion: Finally (!), a Kaiserschmarrn with vanilla sauce again. And for me, it was spoken, perfect.

The staff was very friendly, but unfortunately, lunch and dinner weren't that great. However, the breakfast was excellent! We stayed overnight at the hut as a group, and the dormitories were very nice and tidy.

The Kaiserschmarrn and snacks are fantastic! Everything tastes amazing with that view!

We didn't eat at the inn, but the service was friendly. It's self-service. The hike up was more challenging than expected, but still manageable. Note for families with babies: The direct route from Walchensee is not suitable. It's better to get off the bus earlier to take a more pleasant route. The view from the inn was okay, but the truly magnificent view is only revealed from the summit. If you still have energy, you should definitely plan for the additional climb.

We were there yesterday. The ambiance is really nice. The price/performance ratio is absolutely terrible. The Kaiserschmarrn ready-mix was lukewarm, like it came out of a microwave. The sausage salad simply had the standard honey mustard salad dressing. Never had a sweet sausage salad before. The waiter doesn't understand a word of German and just clears the plates while you're eating. It's a shame that a traditional restaurant has become a fast food joint with terrible food. Maybe a burger chain will open soon, which means quality and tradition are also irrelevant. I won't be coming here again.

Very tasty and very expensive but it was worth it

We hiked the Heimgartengrat and stayed overnight. The view is fantastic, and the hut itself is perfectly fine (showers, beds, etc.). The service was also good. Self-service is available during the day, but due to the cable car, it can get crowded at times, which can lead to long waits. Dinner is served. Unfortunately, the food was rather mediocre. The roast pork was far too dry, and the cheese spaetzle and schnitzel weren't great either. The Kaiserschmarren, however, was very good. Overall, a nice hut, with potential for improvement in the cuisine.

We stayed overnight at the mountain inn. Basically, everything was pretty good. But one thing was a bit cheeky: the Kaiserschmarrn and Käsespätzle were both apparently freshly made on the same day, but we were served microwaved portions for €16 each. The Kaiserschmarrn had to be returned because it was cold, but they brought it back basically the same. So, sorry guys, for €16, it's just not going to cut it.

An hour away at the Heimgartenhütte, they have all the same thing again in a smaller, cozy setting, but the Kaiserschmarrn was truly delicious and with plenty of apple sauce. The Jagatee (Jagertee) had a hint of lemon, which was good for it, but could have a bit more alcohol for my taste. However, I generally believe that the alcohol content of Jagatee has deteriorated over my now almost unfathomable lifespan.

Amazing atmosphere, generous portions, helped me get my energy back after hiking up.

We tried König Ludwig beer and it was very good. It can be a bit crowded when weather is good. The view is perfect. A bit higher than average prices eg. Beer is 5.5 euros. Self service but a bit slow during lunchtime.

Yeah, it's obviously very crowded on a Saturday. Long wait times result. It's definitely more appealing on other days.

We spent one night at the mountain inn. The service was a 12/10. The staff were all very attentive and friendly; we haven't experienced that in a long time. The rooms are simple, cozy, and clean, and the beds are very comfortable. We had a bread board in the evening, which was very good. All the staff are also very dog-friendly. We will definitely come back! Thank you for the wonderful stay.

Completely exorbitant prices (for mass tourism here). A Kaiserschmarrn is €17???... But the view is good... The staff is friendly.

One of the best cabins we've ever stayed in! It was so wonderful! Delicious food, lovely hosts, beautiful views. The accommodation, the beds, the showers – all perfect! We'll definitely be back!

Yes, but you can't have a foot problem

After the climb, I reached the Berggasthof Herzogstand mountain inn at 1,575 meters around 12:00 PM. I treated myself to a well-deserved lunch break. A classic schnitzel with fries for a fair €19.00 was just what I needed after the climb. (Note: Self-service)

non-standard opinion. I did the route in rain and wind. I went down through Herzogstand berghaus. after the season in September. the guy taking out the garbage was watching if I could do it... maybe it's not a route where people die, but it's nice that he keeps an eye on you in difficult conditions.

Very unfriendly foreign service. They sell drinks on their day off based on their faces and desires. Some get something and the others don't. It's something for the tax office.

You get what you want, and it tastes good. Self-service works smoothly.

Catastrophic hospitality, unfortunately! Our beautiful hike was spoiled by the incredibly unfriendly behavior of a bar employee. After we had eaten as normal, I asked the waitress very politely if I could fill my water bottle. He was very friendly and accompanied me to the bar and said I could just use the tap. While I was filling the bottle, the bar employee yelled at me what I was thinking. The water and the trucks were too expensive for customers to just get water, and in the process practically ripped the tap off. He could have explained it in a friendly manner. I don't think they're left with the water costs with the amount consumed. What a shame, it has nothing to do with hospitality. Next time I'll give it a wide berth.

Great mountain inn with a truly outstanding breakfast. We stayed here as a group of 15 and had a great night. We'd love to come back.

We stayed overnight at the Herzogstandhaus and thoroughly enjoyed it! The food was good and the prices were perfectly reasonable for a mountain inn. The service was consistently attentive, friendly, and helpful. Breakfast was varied, but I had expected it to be much smaller! Thank you for the wonderful time!

We really enjoyed the beautiful view from the mountain inn. The outdoor seating offers a magnificent view of the mountain landscape and Lake Walchensee. It's simply fantastic! The ambiance is rather rustic, with self-service. The menu is rather small, but there was something for everyone. The staff is super friendly and attentive. I highly recommend the inn.

I was at this restaurant today. I wanted a bite to eat and ordered a plain turkey schnitzel with mixed salad. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. The turkey schnitzel was delicious, but the mixed salad shocked me – the lettuce leaves were poorly washed, you could still see traces of dirt, and there was also a small fly. And I paid €19.90 for this dish. I showed it to the waiter, he said "Sorry," took the plate, and walked away. Overall, this experience severely tarnished my impression of the restaurant.

A typical day-trip restaurant. The food is okay, and the view is very nice.

A very picturesque place. It is convenient that you can drink and eat on the way to the mountains. There are places inside and outside the establishment, self-service and waiter service are possible. The small menu and inflated prices were confusing. The most affordable thing you can take is Pfannkuchensuppe, while the portion is very modest. Beer costs from 5.3€ per glass. Tasty, but I would like more and cheaper

The staff is super friendly and helpful. The prices are unfortunately a bit high for a place of this size, but you know that beforehand or can ask for information. The portions aren't large, but the quality is decent. So, it's definitely worth going.

A wonderful hut, after a 3-hour climb it's like a balm for the senses!

It's the only restaurant if you take the cable car up. The view is fantastic. It's self-service, which isn't bad at all, but it only deserves two stars for service. We only stopped in for coffee in the afternoon. The selection was very limited. Besides our chosen cheesecake, which was also reasonably priced at just under €5 each, there was apple strudel for €9.50, which I personally consider overpriced. But that's a decision you'll have to make up your own mind about.

Five stars for the view but they serve worst coffee I have ever tasted. That is why I give three star.

The food was only partially convincing and was only offered in self-service. But we enjoyed an excellent view.

I had never eaten anything there. The mountain inn was usually closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. That's why I can't write anything about it. The view/panorama is gigantic. The provision of some seating on the wall of the house was gratefully accepted. Protected from the wind and in the sun, wonderful!

The Berggasthaus Herzogstand Hütte on Walchensee impresses with its excellent location and hospitality. After a hike to the Herzogstand summit, we enjoyed a delicious meal there. The service was exceptionally friendly, and the bed rooms were clean and well maintained. A special highlight was the breathtaking sunrise from the summit, which made the stay unforgettable. An ideal place for hikers and nature lovers.

Were pleasantly surprised by the mountain hut at Herzogstand. Kaiserschmarrn and kaspress dumplings really tasty. The price is obviously higher, but the hut has a monopoly.

The Herzogstand is by far one of the most beautiful excursion destinations near Munich. Even overnight stays are possible and the sunrise is a dream. The dishes are simple and have become less so there is room for improvement! LG

Efficient self-service mountain restaurant with a small, but good selection of dishes. Located 500 m from the top gondola station of the Herzogatandbahn only slightly downhill, it is easily accessible to walkers without mountaineering experience and equipment. It is inexpensive and spacious.

VAT 19% -> trend rising Property tax -> “” Purchasing costs -> '' Electricity/wages/minimum wages -> '' Gasoline/operating costs inn-> '' etc. pp Top! The inn is extremely well organized! After 2 minutes while ordering, all drinks and food were ready to be picked up! Great!!! The last time I was there was 10 years ago - a bit more romantic than this year :) with service etc. But: the inn definitely makes 10 times more turnover! Top!!!!!! Why Top? Roast pork is sold out, Kaiserschmarren would take 20 minutes, then tossed on apple strudel, but is only available without raisins. No matter, after 3 hours of hiking I was hungry to no end, but this was also a failure, not even lukewarm. No thanks, not next time...

Absolutely overpriced. Cheese spaetzle is not homemade (egg spaetzle from the supermarket) and does not taste convincing either. Not recommended.

The food was really excellent with a very nice view. Prices are a little more expensive as usual, but that's how it is at an Alpine pasture. If you are traveling around or to the Herzogstand, you can only recommend the Berggasthaus Herzogstand.

The atmosphere cannot be expressed in words. There are a lot of people on weekends.

Cozy hut that is easily accessible on foot. When the weather is nice or on the weekend it is well attended. The staff at Berggasthof Neureuth comes to the table to take orders. The service is top, even if you have to expect longer waiting times on weekends. Since Kaiserschmarrn is rightly very popular, a special Kaiserschmarrn hut was set up so that everyone can get one. Definitely a recommendation with 5 🌟. And dear visitors to the Berggasthof Neureuth, be kind to the service, they do incredible things, and not just on weekends.

We were recently at the Berggasthaus Herzogstand (1575m) and were looking forward to a cozy stop after the hike. Unfortunately, we were rather negatively surprised by the food and the prices. The homemade spinach dumplings for €14.90 were okay in terms of taste, but definitely not worth the price. Even more serious was the portion of fries for €6.30, which was in no way justified - neither in terms of quantity nor quality. The drink prices also blew us away: an apple spritzer for €5.30 is simply too much, while the price for the shandy (also €5.30) was just acceptable. Overall, we were not impressed by the culinary offerings and we will not be visiting again. It's a shame, because the view is really nice - but that alone isn't enough.

Ladies and Gentlemen I recently visited your restaurant and would like to give you feedback on my experience. Unfortunately I was not satisfied with the service and the quality of the food and drinks. The staff seemed unfriendly, which made my stay less pleasant. In addition, my drink, a latte macchiato, was served very cold, even though it was supposed to be hot. The taste of the food also didn't meet my expectations. I was hoping for more from my visit, especially considering the prices. I would appreciate if you could review these points to improve the experience for future guests. Best regards Milad

Open in winter, that's what you get the star for. Kaiserschmarrn ready in a minute... you can imagine the rest: actually just a pile of dough and already cold when handed over.

Nice view, very busy even out of season. I think it's too expensive for self-service, the Kaiserschmarrn was the worst I've ever eaten in terms of taste and consistency. Furthermore, despite asking, there were no cranberries with the schnitzel, even though there was a large bucket there and of course I would have paid for it. Conclusion: There are significantly better huts/taverns that we will hike to.

Unfortunately disappointing: the food wasn't really good and way too expensive. No cranberries, the Kaiserschmarrn was an absolute disgrace.

Kaiserschmarrn was not fluffy and not served warm. After we asked for a second cable, there was no response. Simply switch off the card reader 1 hour before closing time. It said online that you can pay with a card, but people looked at you very surprised when you wanted to pay with a card and you weren't willing to turn the card reader on again... never go there again

The best view you get from the terrace. It's a self-service restaurant with a small selection of German food. The staff is friendly and well organized.

The site is incredible, unmissable! But the restaurant upstairs is in a difficult situation. They have set up a sort of low-end cafeteria where you can order basic things.... Not up to par with the site!
