Everything was absolutely wonderful. Highly recommended. Yesterday we celebrated our wedding with 13 guests. We had lunch followed by coffee and cake. Everything was simply perfect. The friendly service added to the relaxed atmosphere and everyone was attentive. Thank you so much!

Lovely atmosphere, friendly service. Unfortunately, the food was completely inedible. We ordered the ribbon pasta with grilled vegetables and the pike-perch fillet, but what we received was pasta swimming in oil with fried carrots and maybe two pieces of bell pepper, and a fillet that was sadly seared without any care. Very disappointing. :(

We always celebrate our family gatherings at the Jagdhof, and it's always a highlight. Everyone loves the food, regardless of age, and the atmosphere is magical! The venison goulash sauce...it's divine! We always love coming back ❤️

Always fully booked for two seatings on weekends. But it's worth it. Exquisite game dishes and impeccably dressed, friendly waitresses pamper guests during this time!

The food is always very good; we've been here several times. Unfortunately, this time we were somewhat disappointed by the owner who served our family and wasn't very friendly. She seemed a bit overwhelmed and made a few rude comments. This was very disappointing for us, as we celebrated our child's wedding here a few years ago, and everything was perfect that day. It was supposed to be a nice meal for everyone, as it was my birthday. Unfortunately, we were disappointed this time. Even our guests were slightly appalled by her behavior. We usually love coming here.

The Jagdhof in Gera is beautifully situated in the forest and has a cozy atmosphere. The food, especially the venison dishes and dumplings, is delicious. The staff is friendly, but sometimes it takes a bit longer.

A truly highly recommended restaurant. The food is incredibly delicious! Many dishes are available in small portions, and you can choose your own side dishes to accompany the meat dishes. Very friendly and attentive staff.

A wonderful atmosphere amidst the greenery of Gera's city forest. Fast and cheerful service with a great sense of humor. The food is delicious, with a good selection of game dishes. Children's dishes are available, and some adult menus offer portion sizes as well. We enjoy coming here to eat.

We were here today after a tour of Gera and a wonderful view of the city at Osterstein Castle, and we needed a break. We had delicious ice cream, cake, and a refreshing drink. Lovely atmosphere, huge selection of food and drinks. Friendly service! We'll definitely be back.

At the Jagdhof, you can enjoy truly delicious food at a very fair price. The portions are generous and always fresh. The venison goulash, in particular, was a delight. The waiter was truly very friendly and attentive. He had an ear for both young and old. A special compliment for that!

A truly lovely atmosphere with a feel-good factor. We ate here today with a large group. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food, and the dishes were beautifully presented. I opted for the goose breast. Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed with how my meal was presented. It looked a bit poorly presented (especially for the price), so I'm deducting a point. I would definitely come back, though, and just order a different dish.

waren das erste Mal nach Umzug im April in dieser Gaststätte. Hatte zum Glück telefonisch reserviert, denn sonst ist hier auf die Schnelle kein Platz zu bekommen. Die Gaststätte des Personal einfach nur perfekt. Sitzgelegenheiten im Freien sowie in der Gaststätte gemütlich eine Atmosphäre die zum entspannen einlädt. Wir haben uns entschlossen, einmal im Monat diese Gaststätte zu besuchen und haben auch schon Termine im Voraus gebucht, die wir auch mit Sicherheit wahrnehmen werden. Das Essen ist ein Gaumenschmaus.

This game restaurant was one of the top addresses during the GDR era, and it still is today!👍💪 The food was excellent, as always! 😜 And the prices were reasonable. 💶 It's often busy on weekends, so reservations are a good idea, but during the week, that's often not an issue.🤗 Behind the house, there's always been a goat enclosure. 🐐You can go for a lovely hike from there, and about 1 km away is Osterstein Castle 🏰, with a fantastic view over Gera! It's currently under construction, though.🥴

In the middle of the forest, a 15-minute drive from the center of Gera, there is a cozy little restaurant. A place with a great atmosphere, sophisticated decoration, attentive staff, free parking. We spent a great afternoon enjoying delicious food and drinks .. absolutely recommended category .. as the place is not very big, it is worth booking a table in advance .. there is also an outside terrace area for those who would like the indoor area to be noisy ..

**An absolute highlight in Gera – a perfect family meal!** Last weekend we had the pleasure of dining at the Jagdhof in Gera and I can only say: it was an unforgettable experience! From the cozy atmosphere to the excellent service – everything was just right. Personally, I enjoyed the roast pork with fresh wild mushrooms and dumplings, and I was thrilled! The meat was tender and juicy, the mushrooms tasted like they had been freshly picked from the forest, and the dumplings were simply cooked to perfection. Every bite was a delight! The rest of the family was also thrilled with their dishes. The kids also loved homemade dumplings, and my other half still raves about the dessert. The service was friendly, attentive and very accommodating. You can tell that the well-being of the guests comes first here. Conclusion: The Jagdhof in Gera is an absolute must for anyone who wants to enjoy good food in a great atmosphere. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this place!

The ambience is excellent, in keeping with the name of the restaurant. The service is attentive and very accommodating. He also fulfills somewhat strange wishes. The food is tasty and lovingly prepared. The pike perch dish was excellent. The fried potatoes were freshly prepared, non-greasy and tasty. The question I ask myself is the fact that the evening menu includes all kinds of roasts with dumplings. At an advanced hour, these dishes are difficult to digest, although each guest can decide for themselves. All in all, the Waldgaststätte Jagdhof restaurant is highly recommended. Many thanks to all employees and colleagues for their love of gastronomy and for their not always easy job.

If you're looking for a quaint, small and cozy restaurant in the beautiful Gera Forest, you can't miss the popular Jagdhof. You find yourself there between lots of loving wooden decorations and the smell of food that seems to be intended for the soul. A clear menu invites you not only to feast but also to try things out. As the name suggests, wild is the name of the game there. The restaurant offers few and very popular parking spaces and is always (really always) very busy and even fully booked. Getting a free table is very difficult without a reservation. The food was very good, although the size of the portions seemed to be adapted to the older clientele. The drinks were average good. The meat and sauce were outstanding. Unfortunately the dumpling wasn't to our taste. Our conclusion remained that the Jagdhof was worth a visit and it is a restaurant that rightly enjoys a particularly good reputation among the Gerschen. PS: The service was absolutely impeccably good. :) Kind regards to the whole team and see you soon. ✌🏻

A rustic forest restaurant that is always well attended. Outside you can sit on wooden furniture and sturdy rocking chairs, now with fur and blankets. The service is super nice, you feel comfortable and welcome as a guest.

Everything together is so harmonious. Atmosphere, as well as service and quality of food. The friendliness and willingness to help when getting over the step for wheelchair users should be highlighted. We were completely satisfied and recommend the Jagdhof.

You can also eat small portions and prefer a great game soup beforehand. Always good...

Beautiful forest restaurant with delicious home cooking

We ate there for the first time this afternoon. The service was excellent and the waiting times were relatively short. We had goose breast and sauerbraten. Both dishes were incredibly delicious. We would be happy to come by again. You have to reserve at times. We called 3 weeks in advance and there were only 2 tables left to choose from. But if you know this in advance, you can plan accordingly.

After a few years I visited the restaurant again. I was positively surprised. The service is courteous and very friendly. The dishes were excellently prepared. The taste of the dishes is really great. And not overpriced. Highly recommended 👍
